There was offered a method of human stress-resistance evaluation via the dynamics of the regulatory-adaptive status. The regulatory-adaptive status was being determined via the parameters of the cardiorespiratory synchronism in the original state and at the application of the stress factor. Individuals, whose regulatory-adaptive status didn't change or decreased by not more than 5-6% at the exposition to the stress factor formed the group with a high level of stress-resistance. The individuals, whose regulatory adaptive status at the exposition to the stress factor decreased by less than 50% formed a group with a moderate level of stress-resistance. The examinees, whose regulatory-adaptive status decreased by more than 50% in a response to the stress factor were set in a group with a low stress-resistance level. The method was tested in the three stress models: 1) exam stress-on 58 students; 2) parachute jump stress-on 35 beginner parachutists; 3) stress, caused by the relocation to the zone of the catastrophe on 30 rescuers. In all the three models the method is highly informative. At the same time the levels of the stress-resistance were being evaluated by the psychological methods. It was shown, that the evaluation of the stress-resistance level via the dynamics of the regulatory-adaptive status allows to objectively characterize the ability of an individual to resist stress and should be included in the test complex for the casting of the candidates for the extreme professions.  相似文献

The method of estimating human stress resistance by the dynamics of the regulatory-adaptive state is described. The regulatory-adaptive state has been evaluated by the parameters of cardio-respiratory synchronism in the normal state and in stress. Subjects with no changes in the regulatory-adaptive state or with its decrease by 5–6% have been included in the group with a high level of stress resistance. Subjects with a decrease of the regulatory-adaptive state by more than 50% in response to stress have been included in the low stress resistance group. The method has been tested in three models of stress: (1) examination (58 students); (2) parachute jumping (35 beginner parachute jumpers); (3) entrance to an emergency zone (30 rescuers). All three models are highly informative. Stress resistance levels have also been estimated by psycho-logical methods. The estimation of stress resistance by the dynamics of the regulatory-adaptive state allows characterizing the ability of a person to endure stress and can be included in the set of tests for staff recruitment in extreme professions.  相似文献

Fail of fast recovering to normal state after aversive event is the key feature of individual intolerance to emotional stress. Within the framework of this idea, dynamics of the arterial blood pressure reactivity was studied studied using defensive reaction of the cardiac defense response elicited by strong aversive acoustic stimuli. Dynamical patterns of cardiovascular responses observed in this reaction makes made it possible to perform affective chronometry of defensive arousal. Healthy male volunteers with normal arterial blood pressure and patients with firstly diagnosed and untreated essential hypertension were studied. The beat-by-beat dynamics of blood pressure values were registered by means of finger-cuff Finapres technology. It was shown that among healthy individuals with normal resting blood pressure values hyperreactive persons with delayed late systolic and diastolic blood pressure increases ocurred. It was suggested that similiarity of delayed pressor effects ofhypereactive healthy individuals and those of hypertension patients incate a high risk of essential hypertension in highly reactive individuals.  相似文献

In order to show the alteration of blood pressure in subjects chronically exposed to natural gas containing sulfur compounds, the present study was done. The blood pressure of 94 (43 males, 51 females) of healthy individuals living in the polluted area of Masjid-i-Sulaiman (Khozestan province, southwest of Iran) was measured. The non-parametric Sign test was applied in order to detect differences between the study subjects and the normal mean values according to the sex and age of subjects. Statistical analysis showed that the systolic blood pressure significantly decreased (Z=-2.74; P=0.0031) while the diastolic blood pressure (Z=+2.11; P=0.0174) and heart rate (Z=+3.62; P<0.001) significantly increased in individuals living in the contaminated areas compared with those of normal mean values. The systolic and diastolic blood pressure decreased and increased, respectively, in individuals chronically exposed to natural sour gas containing sulfur compounds.  相似文献

An effect of a 2-hour water immersion on the blood serum ANP was investigated in 20 haemodialysed patients with chronic renal failure and in 15 healthy individuals. Water immersion produced an increase in volume in both healthy individuals and the patients of similar degree. Baseline ANP concentration (290.0 +/- 21.9 pg/mL) was significantly higher in the dialysed patients than that in healthy individuals (66.0 +/- 5.5 pg/mL). Water immersion decreased mean arterial pressure (previously significantly higher in the patients) in both healthy individuals and examined patients, significantly increased secretory renal function (significantly higher in healthy individuals than in the examined patients), and increased ANP (previously significantly higher in healthy subjects). A significant correlation between ANP level in blood serum and changes in volume was seen only in healthy individuals. The obtained results suggest a contribution of other than changed volume factors of ANP release regulation and other than ANP factors to pathomechanism of post-immersion drop of the arteria blood pressure and increased secretory renal function in both healthy individuals and patients with renal failure.  相似文献

Dietary supplements of L-arginine, a substrate for nitric oxide synthases, may promote formation of nitric oxide and thus may be of clinical benefit. However, the optimal level of L-arginine supplementation is unclear. The objective of this study was to evaluate the response of healthy individuals to increasing doses of L-arginine (as free acid). Twelve healthy subjects were recruited and instructed to take L-arginine for 1-week periods at daily doses of 3, 9, 21, and 30 g. At baseline and at the end of each week, 24-hour urine and fasting blood samples were collected, and weight, diastolic blood pressure, and systolic blood pressure were recorded. Samples were analyzed for L-arginine, L-citrulline, glycine, L-lysine, L-ornithine, asymmetric dimethy L-arginine, symmetric dimethy L-arginine, glucose, insulin (serum), creatinine, cGMP (urine), and total nitrates (serum and urine). Ten subjects reported adverse side effects at initial L-arginine doses of 21 g/day (five subjects) or 30 g/day (five subjects), respectively. Blood pressure and weight did not change during the supplementation period. Of the individual biochemical measures, only L-arginine, glycine, and L-ornithine concentrations changed significantly. The mean concentration of L-arginine reached a peak during supplementation at 9 g/d; however, individuals differed markedly in their response. Availability of L-arginine, relative to that of asymmetric dimethy L-arginine, increased significantly at both 9 g/day and 21 g/day. Mean values indicate that supplementation with 9 g/day of L-arginine, a dose associated with minimal adverse side effects, is sufficient to increase circulating L-arginine concentrations. However, subjects varied widely in their responses, indicating that L-arginine supplementation needs to be tailored to individuals.  相似文献

The genetic contribution to blood pressure variance is examined by studying a selected group of genes. Of 368 individuals, 48.1% received one-half or more of their genes from an African ancestor and of this group 18.1 and 17.0% exhibit systolic and diastolic hypertension, respectively. A chi-square test was used to examine the dependence of blood pressure on percentage African ancestry. The chi-square values were not significant for systolic or diastolic pressures. It is likely that other factors are strongly related to African admixture and these factors are the true modifiers of blood pressure.  相似文献

Effects of garlic extract supplementation on blood lipid profile and oxidant/antioxidant status were investigated in volunteer subjects with high blood cholesterol. A total of 23 volunteer subjects with high blood cholesterol (>5.98 mmol/L) participated in the study. Of them, 13 patients were evaluated as a hypertensive group and the others a normotensive group. Before (first sample) and after (second sample) garlic extract consumption for 4 months, routine blood analyses including lipid parameters and liver and kidney function tests were performed. Additionally, blood oxidant (malondialdehyde [MDA], oxidation resistance [OR]), and antioxidant (antioxidant potential [AOP], nonenzymatic superoxide radical scavenger activity [NSSA]) parameters were measured. Serum total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) cholesterols, and triglyceride levels were found to be significantly lowered, but HDL high-density lipoprotein cholesterol level increased after the extract use. The total:HDL cholesterol ratio was also found to be significantly decreased after the extract use. There were no meaningful differences with regard to other routine biochemical parameters. Additionally, blood AOP, OR, and NSSA values were found increased and MDA level decreased in the second samples relative to the first ones. Systolic and diastolic blood pressure values were also found to be significantly lowered after extract supplementation in the hypertensive group, but no similar changes were observed in the normotensive group. We conclude that garlic extract supplementation improves blood lipid profile, strengthens blood antioxidant potential, and causes significant reductions in systolic and diastolic blood pressures. It also leads to a decrease in the level of oxidation product (MDA) in the blood samples, which demonstrates reduced oxidation reactions in the body.  相似文献

The urinary excretion of noradrenaline, adrenaline and creatinine has been studied in normal young individuals during a water bath at 38 degrees C for 40 minutes. The noradrenalinuria and the ratio noradrenalinuria/creatininuria are decreased, indicating an inhibition of the vasomotor activity of the orthosympathetic system. This inhibition is related to the consequence of the external hydrostatic pressure of the water filling the intrathoracic venous reservoirs and increasing the systemic blood pressure at the sino-baroreceptor level, hyperthermia playing a very limited role.  相似文献

A new application of 1D models of the human arterial network is proposed. We take advantage of the sensitivity of the models predictions for the pressure profiles within the main aorta to key model parameter values. We propose to use the patterns in the predicted differences from a base case as a way to infer to the most probable changes in the parameter values. We demonstrate this application using an impedance model that we have recently developed (Johnson, 2010). The input model parameters are all physiologically related, such as the geometric dimensions of large arteries, various blood properties, vessel elasticity, etc. and can therefore be patient specific. As a base case, nominal values from the literature are used. The necessary information to characterize the smaller arteries, arterioles, and capillaries is taken from a physical scaling model (West, 1999). Model predictions for the effective impedance of the human arterial system closely agree with experimental data available in the literature. The predictions for the pressure wave development along the main arteries are also found in qualitative agreement with previous published results. The model has been further validated against our own measured pressure data in the carotid and radial arteries, obtained from healthy individuals. Upon changes in the value of key model parameters, we show that the differences seen in the pressure profiles correspond to qualitatively different patterns for different parameters. This suggests the possibility of using the model in interpreting multiple pressure data of healthy/diseased individuals.  相似文献

We investigated the influence of vitamin D receptor (VDR) polymorphisms and vitamin D level on the blood pressure and the risk of preeclampsia. In a case-control study, 200 pregnant women, including 100 individuals with preeclampsia along with 100 healthy pregnant women, were studied for VDR FokI, TaqI, and BmsI polymorphisms and serum 25 (OH)-D level using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism method and commercial kit, respectively. The mean level of 25 (OH)-D in preeclamptic patients was significantly lower (16.6 ± 4.2 ng/mL, P < 0.001) compared with controls (19.6 ± 3.8 ng/mL). Among all women, a significantly higher systolic blood pressure and before-pregnancy body mass index and also lower gestational age were observed in the presence of 25 (OH)-D level < 20 ng/mL compared with the 20 to 30 ng/mL. A significantly higher frequency of VDR FokI C allele in preeclamptic patients (83%) than controls (74%) was associated with a 1.72-fold increased risk of preeclampsia. In all the studied individuals, the systolic and diastolic blood pressures were significantly higher in the presence of the FokI CC genotype compared with the TC and TT+TC genotypes. Neither VDR Taq1 nor VDR BmsI was associated with the risk of preeclampsia. The haplotype FokI C, TaqI C and BmsI A (CCA) compared with haplotype CTG increased the risk of preeclampsia by 1.4-fold (P = 0.33). Our study suggests an association between VDR FokI polymorphism and an insufficient serum level of 25 (OH)-D with the risk of preeclampsia and also the influence of insufficient 25 (OH)-D level and VDR FokI polymorphism on maternal factors, including blood pressure.  相似文献

The uptake and efflux rate of norepinephrine in platelets have been studied in 63 individuals, 48 men and 15 women. 40 of these had a diastolic blood pressure ?95 mm Hg. If the initial efflux rate, k, was correlated to the diastolic blood pressure a highly significant relationship (r = 0.748 p<0.001) was obtained, i.e. a high diastolic blood pressure is correlated to a rapid efflux of norepinephrine from platelets. No correlation was found between uptake values and diastolic blood pressure.  相似文献

A laboratory strain of Aedes aegypti (L) was subjected repeatedly to larval selection pressure with two bacterial insecticides, spinosad (Saccharopolyspora spinosa) and bacilod (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis). The results indicated that the mosquito Ae. aegypti acquired low resistance to spinosad and bacilod by about 3.1 and 2.4-fold, respectively, due to selection pressure for fifteen successive generations. The slope values of the selected strains were increased gradually from one generation to the next, indicating moderate homogeneity between individuals in their response to the test bio-insecticide. Moreover, larval selection with current bacterial bioinsecticides prolonged the time required to digest a blood meal. It showed an evident decrease in the reproductive potential of adult mosquitoes surviving selected larvae.  相似文献

The myogenic response, the inherent ability of blood vessels to rapidly respond to changes in transmural pressure, is involved in local blood flow autoregulation. Animal studies suggest that both acute hyperglycemia and hyperinsulinemia may impair myogenic vasoconstriction. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of an oral glucose load on brachial mean blood velocity (MBV) during increases in forearm transmural pressure in humans. Eight healthy men and women (38 +/- 5 yr) underwent an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT). MBV (in cm/s; Doppler ultrasound) responses to a rise in forearm transmural pressure (arm tank suction, -50 mmHg) were studied before and every 30 min for 120 min during the OGTT. Before the start of the OGTT, MBV was lower than baseline values 30 and 60 s after the application of negative pressure. This suggests that myogenic constriction was present. During the OGTT, blood glucose rose from 88 +/- 2 to 120 +/- 6 mg/dl (P < 0.05) and insulin rose from 14 +/- 1 to 101 +/- 32 microU/ml (P < 0.05). Glucose loading attenuated the reduction in MBV with arm suction (Delta-0.73 +/- 0.14 vs. Delta-1.67 +/- 0.43 cm/s and Delta-1.07 +/- 0.14 vs. Delta-2.38 +/- 0.54 cm/s, respectively, during 30 and 60 s of suction postglucose compared with preglucose values; all P < 0.05). We observed no such time effect for myogenic responses during a sham OGTT. In an additional 5 subjects, glucose loading had no effect on brachial diameters with the application of negative pressure. Oral glucose loading leads to attenuated myogenic vasoconstriction in healthy individuals. The role that this diminished postglucose reactivity plays in mediating postprandial hypotension and/or orthostasis needs to be further explored.  相似文献

The study population included employees of metal works, with significant exposure to lead (Pb) for about 20 years (mean blood lead level PbB = 43 μg/dl), divided into four groups: normotensive (Pb-normotensive), high-normotensive, first (HT-1), and second degree (HT-2) of hypertension. The control group comprised of 30 office workers with normal blood pressure and no history of occupational exposure to lead. In erythrocytes, the activity of antioxidant enzymes and lipid peroxidation (measured as concentration of malondialdehyde (MDA)) was estimated. MDA concentration, glutathione peroxide (GPx), and superoxide dimutase (SOD) activities were significantly higher in Pb-normotensive group when compared to the normotensive control. Body mass index, age, duration of exposure to lead, and PbB were higher in both hypertensive groups than in Pb-normotensive or high-normotensive groups. MDA increased in HT-1 group by 48% and in HT-2 by 72%, and the activity of GPx decreased significantly in HT-1 group, by 30% and in HT-2 by 43%. No significant differences were observed in their activity of SOD, catalase, and glutathione reductase in erythrocytes. Arterial blood pressure (both systolic and diastolic) positively correlated with body mass index (BMI), age, lead exposure duration, PbB, MDA, and negatively correlated with GPx. There was no significant correlation between BMI and MDA, BMI and GPx, age and MDA, AND age and GPx. In conclusion: (1) lead increases erythrocyte MDA concentration and the activity of GPx as well as SOD in normotensive subjects. (2) Among individuals exposed to lead, with arterial hypertension diagnosed, higher body mass index, age, values of blood lead level, and prolonged exposure to lead have been noticed, accompanied by intensified oxidative stress and the decrease in the activity of glutathione peroxidase in erythrocytes. The reasons for increase of blood pressure in lead exposure remain unrecognized.  相似文献

Spinal cord-injured (SCI) individuals, having a sympathetic nervous system lesion, experience hypotension during sitting and standing. Surprisingly, they experience few syncopal events. This suggests adaptations in cerebrovascular regulation. Therefore, changes in systemic circulation, cerebral blood flow, and oxygenation in eight SCI individuals were compared with eight able-bodied (AB) individuals. Systemic circulation was manipulated by lower body negative pressure at several levels down to -60 mmHg. At each level, we measured steady-state blood pressure, changes in cerebral blood velocity with transcranial Doppler, and cerebral oxygenation using near-infrared spectroscopy. We found that mean arterial pressure decreased significantly in SCI but not in AB individuals, in accordance with the sympathetic impairment in the SCI group. Cerebral blood flow velocity decreased during orthostatic stress in both groups, but this decrease was significantly greater in SCI individuals. Cerebral oxygenation decreased in both groups, with a tendency to a greater decrease in SCI individuals. Thus present data do not support an advantageous mechanism during orthostatic stress in the cerebrovascular regulation of SCI individuals.  相似文献

Anthropometric somatotyping is one of the methods to describe the shape of the human body, which shows some associations with an individual's health and disease condition, especially with cardiovascular diseases (CVD). Individuals with lower extremity amputation (LEA) are known to be more vulnerable to the cardiovascular risk. The objectives of the present study are to report the somatotype of the individuals having lower extremity amputation, to study the possible variation in somatotype between two groups of amputated individuals, and to study the association between cardiovascular disease risk factor and somatotype components among individuals with locomotor disability. 102 adult male individuals with unilateral lower-extremity amputation residing in Calcutta and adjoining areas were investigated. The anthropometric data for somatotyping and data on cardiovascular risk traits (such as body mass index, blood pressure measurements, blood lipids) have been collected. The somatotyping technique of Carter & Heath (1990) has been followed. The result shows high mean values of endomorphy and mesomorphy components and a low mean value of the ectomorphy component among the amputated individuals having cardiovascular risks. The results of both discriminant analysis and logistic regression analysis show a significant relationship between somatotype components and CVD risk among the individuals with LEA. The findings of the present study support the findings of similar studies conducted on the normal population. Diagnosis of CVD risk condition through somatotyping can be utilized in prevention/treatment management for the individuals with LEA.  相似文献

The aim of our work was to develop an assay for the determination of proguanylin in human blood, and investigate its levels in healthy volunteers and donors suffer from hypertension often accompanied by body sodium accumulation and plasma volume expansion. We developed and evaluated the sandwich ELISA method for the quantitative determination of human proguanylin in serum samples. We conducted also the pilot study on individuals with hypertension and oh healthy probands and measured proguanylin serum levels, serum and urine sodium and creatinine levels. In the study on 256 healthy volunteers we demonstrated that women have significantly higher values of proguanylin than men (medians 12.7 vs. 9.6 ng/ml, p < 0.01) and proguanylin values increased with age of individuals (p < 0.01). Futhermore, we tested 17 individuals with hypertension and found that probands with anamnesi of hypertension had higher proguanylin values than healthy individuals from the first study (medians 16.2 vs. 11.3 ng/ml, p < 0.01). Both of groups did not differ in sex or age. Proguanylin values correlated with the systolic blood pressure (r = 0.41, p < 0.01), sodium fraction excretion (r = 0.72, p < 0.01) and serum sodium (r = -0.39, p < 0.01). No significant correlation we found with serum proguanylin and creatinine. In the group of 9 healthy probands we demonstrated the existence of a diurnal rhythm of proguanylin with its maximum in the evening hours (between 6-10 p.m.). The pilot study supports the hypothesis about the role of proguanylin in sodium metabolism and its possible importance for hypertension disorder. Further research is necessary to confirm our findings in individuals with hypertension with different medication in order to assess proguanylin value as a risk predictor of accelerated hypertension, and to classify individuals with hypertension for variuos types of diuretic therapy.  相似文献

Pf72/Hsp70-1, a heat-shock protein of m.w. 72 kDa from Plasmodium falciparum is one of the Ag of interest to be included in a polyvalent vaccine against malaria. It is one of the major immunogens present in a fraction of purified blood stage parasites that elicited protection against experimental infection of Saimiri monkeys with blood stages of P. falciparum. It is present at all blood stages and one of its B cell epitopes is also detected on the surface of the infected hepatocyte. Moreover, Pf72 appears to be well conserved among different isolates of P. falciparum. We have examined the immune response against Pf72/Hsp70-1 in individuals from different age groups living in a holoendemic area (West Africa). The immune response against the native Ag (purified from schizonts and called Pf/Hsp70) was analyzed both at the humoral level by ELISA and at the cellular level by assessing in vitro proliferation and IFN-gamma production of PBMC. Of the individuals studied 52% had a statistically significant level of anti-Pf/Hsp70 antibodies as compared with unexposed individuals. These positive individuals showed a heterogeneous distribution because significant levels of antibodies were found in 70% of the adults but in only 26% of the children. The presence of Pf/Hsp70-specific reactive T cells in the blood was detected in 32% of the individuals. The total anti-Pf/Hsp70 antibody level (IgG+IgM) appeared strongly age related and correlated positively with parasite exposure, whereas the T cell response failed to correlate either with the antibody level or with age. Moreover, PBMC of donors responded to the Pf/Hsp70 in a dissociated way, namely, by either T cell proliferation or IFN-gamma production. Ten synthetic peptides based on sequences found in the C-terminal part of Pf72/Hsp70-1 were further tested as potential T cell epitopes. The proliferative response of PBMC from individuals continuously exposed to the parasite showed that three peptides more frequently trigger significant T cell proliferation (in 21% to 27% of the individuals) and three others less frequently (10%). None of these peptides allowed detection of reactive T cells in PBMC of Europeans with no previous exposure to malaria. Some of the stimulating peptides are highly similar to human heat-shock Hsc and Hsp70 with large stretches of identical amino acids.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 400 WORDS)  相似文献

The aim of our work was to develop an assay for the determination of angiopoietin-like protein 3 (Angptl3) in human blood, and investigate its levels in healthy volunteers and donors suffer from metabolic syndrome and familiar hypercholesterolemia. We developed and evaluated the sandwich ELISA method for the quantitative determination of human Angptl3 in serum samples. We conducted also the pilot study on individuals with metabolic syndrome or familiar hypercholesterolemia and healthy probands. The following parameters were measured: blood pressure, waist circumference, Angptl3 serum levels, serum cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL-cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, insulin, glucose, A-FABP, and BMI and Quicki insulin sensitivity index was calculated. In the study on 93 healthy volunteers we demonstrated that sex or age is not the determinant for Angptl3 serum values. Futhermore, 118 individuals with metabolic syndrome and 200 patients with familiar hypercholesterolemia were tested and it was found that probands with metabolic syndrome or familiar hypercholesterolemia had higher Angptl3 values than healthy individuals from the first study (medians 289.5 vs. 277.1 vs. 224.8 ng/ml, p < 0.01). All of groups did not differ in sex or age. Angptl3 values correlated with the systolic blood pressure, LDL and A-FABP (p < 0.05). No connection of Angptl3 with triglycerides was found (presumably influences of statins, fibrates via PPARs, etc). However, we performed stepwise regression and found A-FABP and Angptl3 serum values as the independent markers for metabolic syndrome presence only (F ratio 29, p < 0.01). Then we adjusted Angptl3 to A-FABP (reputable metabolic syndrome marker) and recognised that Angptl3 is the A-FABP-independent marker. The pilot study supports the hypothesis about the role of Angptl3 as a new class of lipid metabolism modulator. Their values could be a new key predictors of metabolic syndrome. Further research is necessary to confirm our findings in individuals with dyslipidemia, obesity, CAD and different medication in order to assess Angptl3 value as a risk predictor of accelerated atherosclerosis.  相似文献
