外来树种日本落叶松对森林土壤质量及细菌多样性的影响   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6  
以甘肃小陇山林区8~30年林龄日本落叶松林(外来树种)、油松林(乡土树种)及次生林为研究对象,研究了不同树种森林的土壤质量和细菌多样性变化.结果表明: 不同树种森林土壤pH无明显变化;林龄越长,土壤含水量越高.土壤总氮与有机质含量以次生林最高,其次为日本落叶松,油松最低.不同林龄森林土壤总氮与有机质含量无明显变化,表明树种是影响土壤质量的主要因素.与 乡土树种油松相比,外来树种日本落叶松显著提高了土壤全氮及土壤有机质含量.变性梯度凝胶电泳(DGGE)图谱显示,次生林土壤细菌多样性最高,而外来树种日本落叶松土壤细菌多样性最低.对DGGE图谱的聚类分析发现,小陇山不同森林土壤细菌类群分属变形杆菌、噬纤维黄杆菌和高G C含量革兰氏阳性细菌类,其中分属变形杆菌为主要类群.进一步分析发现,日本落叶松的细菌群落组成具有更高的相似度,说明日本落叶松正在使该地区土壤细菌多样性发生变化.  相似文献

Questions: What is the effect of herbaceous layer on seedling establishment of three woody pioneer species in open areas of central Chile under a semi‐arid mediterranean climate? How do inter‐annual and habitat conditions (slope aspect) modulate this effect? Under high stress conditions such as the drier year and habitat (north‐facing slope) do herbs reach low abundance and have neutral effects on woody seedlings? Under medium stress conditions for these woody species, such as the wetter year and south‐facing slope, does the herbaceous layer reach greater abundance and have positive effects on woody seedlings due to increasing soil water content? Location: A watershed on the outskirts of Santiago, Chile, subjected to clearing of woody vegetation through firewood extraction and human‐set fires. Methods: In spring 2007, we set up 20 plots (3 m × 2 m). Half of each plot had herbs removed manually and by application of herbicide. In both halves of each plot, one seedling (8 months old) of each of the three native woody species (Colliguaya odorifera, Schinus polygamus and Quillaja saponaria) was planted and survival monitored subsequently. The experiment was repeated in two consecutive growing seasons (2007–2008 and 2008–2009) that differed significantly in total precipitation (152 and 256.5 mm, respectively), and replicated in two sites that differed in aspect and abiotic conditions: a moister south‐ and a drier north‐facing slope. Results: In the first and drier year, the herbaceous layer had low cover and no significant effect on seedling survival of woody species. During the second year, herbs had greater cover and a significant positive effect on spring survival of C. odorifera in the north‐facing slope, which was lost after summer. During this wetter year on the south‐facing slope, herb cover had a positive effect on survival of S. polygamus (mainly during summer). Conclusions: The role of mostly ruderal herbs on woody seedling establishment depended on the species, rainfall of the current year and slope aspect, and may be explained by soil moisture patterns. This suggests that the effect of ruderal herbs on woody seedlings shifts from neutral under high stress conditions produced by drought to positive under moderate stress conditions. Our results contribute to understand interactions between ruderal herbs and woody species under contrasting abiotic conditions. Therefore, control of the herbaceous layer may not be needed in restoration programmes for this region. Moreover, herbs may benefit restoration of woody cover in mesic habitats.  相似文献

The development of socio-economic activity over the past ten years in the Mediterranean region has induced severe changes in the main natural forest ecosystems.In the northern Mediterranean, rural depopulation has accelerated since the end of the second World War, particularly since the establishment of Common Market agricultural policies, and led to an under-utilization of species causing a strong biological resurgence of the forest, even at high altitudes. This means that, at the present time, the extension of expansion model coniferous forests is favored by their capacities for spatial, biological and ecological selection. Along with this, the under-utilization of sclerophyllous (resistance model) and deciduous (stabilization model) oak coppices has led to the establishment of new forest structures and architectures which are notably different from the main climatic groups defined up to now by phytosociological and synchronic methods. The aim of this study is to investigate the microbial community structure and diversity in a wood-decomposed hollow-stump ecosystem. Microbial communities of SD-1, a lateritic soil sample from forest hollow-stump ecosystems in Fuzhou (a southeastern coast city of China), were characterized by constructing and analyzing rRNA gene clone libraries. Sixty-six phylotypes were identified from 112 bacterial clones, including Acidobacteria (71.5%), Proteobacteria (24.1%) and Verrucomicrobia (0.9%). A total of 40 phylotypes were obtained from 138 fungal clones, including Basidiomycota (42.8%), Ascomycota (36.2%), Zygomycota (13.8%), Chytridiomycota (2.9%) and Fungi incertae sedis (4.3%). The results showed a variety of clones related to the reported lignocellulose-decomposing microorganisms. They included some important bacterial decomposers, such as Sphingomonas and Burkholderia, and a number of wood-decaying fungi, including Tricholomataceae, Strophariaceae and Agaricaceae of Basidiomycota; Orbilia, Aspergillus, Phialocephala, Epicoccum and Phoma of Ascomycota and Mucorales of Zygomycota. The result indicated that the lignocellulolytic microorganisms worked synergically with a unique community structure to biodegrade lignocellulose in the hollow-stump ecosystem.  相似文献

Browsing by overabundant deer modifies plant communities and alters forest regeneration, which can indirectly impact associated insect fauna. We tested the hypothesis that the response of insect communities to changes in deer abundance should depend on the strength of their association with plants, which we considered as a key functional trait. Seven years after a deer density control experiment was established in partly harvested forests on Anticosti Island (Quebec, Canada), we evaluated the effects of reducing white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) density from >20 down to 15, 7.5 and 0 deer km?2, on four insect taxa representing different levels of dependence on plants. As predicted by our hypothesis, the sensitivity of insect taxa to deer density decreased along a gradient representing their degree of association with plants. Carabidae remained unaffected, while Apoidea and Syrphidae communities differed between uncontrolled and reduced deer densities, but not as clearly as for Lepidoptera. As expected, insect communities responded faster in harvested than in forested areas because vegetation changes more rapidly in open habitats. For most insect taxa, dominant species were the most strongly affected by deer density reduction, but it was clearly stronger for predator taxa (Syrphidae and Carabidae). A fast recovery of rare species was observed for macro Lepidoptera. Reducing deer density down to 15 deer km?2 is sufficient to restore insect diversity on Anticosti Island, but it is unlikely to be efficient in all situations, particularly when competing tree regeneration is firmly established.  相似文献

林火作为森林非连续的生态因子,引起森林生态系统碳库碳储量与碳分配的变化,影响森林演替进程及固碳能力。以桉树林不同林火干扰强度的火烧迹地为对象,采用相邻样地比较法,以野外调查采样与室内试验分析相结合为主要手段,研究不同林火干扰强度对森林生态系统各碳库及生态系统碳密度变化和空间分布格局的影响,探讨林火干扰对生态系统碳密度与碳分布格局的影响机制。结果表明:林火干扰降低了植被碳密度(P<0.05),轻度、中度和重度林火干扰样地植被碳密度依次为67.88、35.68和15.50 t·hm-2,相比对照分别下降了15.86%、55.78%和80.79%;在轻度、中度和重度林火干扰样地中,凋落物碳密度分别为1.43、0.94和0.81 t·hm-2,相比对照分别降低了28.14%、52.76%和59.30%;不同林火干扰强度样地土壤有机碳密度均低于对照,且减少幅度随土壤剖面深度增加而逐渐变小,轻度、中度和重度林火干扰样地土壤有机碳密度分别为103.30、84.33和70.04 t·hm-2,相比对照分别下降了11.67%、27....  相似文献

Coarse woody debris (CWD) characteristics are expected to reflect forest stand features. Few studies evaluated logging-induced stand characteristics of secondary coniferous forests by quantifying the quality and quantity in CWD. After selective logging, the form of secondary forest of Pinus tabulaeformis in the Qinling Mountains is inferior and the regeneration is poor. We measured the CWD characteristics of the forest which had an average CWD biomass amount of 12.56 t hm−2, and was predominated by abundant logs (65.68%), followed by snags (33.13%). The CWD biomass of P. tabulaeformis and Toxicodendron vernicifluum was significantly higher than that of other species, which took up 85.51% of the total. Although there was no significant difference among different diameter sizes (P > 0.05), the CWD biomass of diameter 30–40 cm occupied 46.26% of the total (5.81 t hm−2). Similarly, the CWD biomass of decay class I and II accounted for 39.89% (5.01 t hm−2) and 33.04% (4.15 t hm−2) of the total CWD biomass respectively, despite no significant difference among those 5 decay classes (P > 0.05). The results indicated that the combination of young forest developmental stage caused by past selective logging and natural and anthropogenic disturbances such as strong wind, tapping lacquer, firewood collection, and illegal tree felling played a crucial role in distribution characteristics of CWD in this secondary forest of P. tabulaeformis.  相似文献

Wet tropical forests play a critical role in global ecosystem carbon (C) cycle, but C allocation and the response of different C pools to nutrient addition in these forests remain poorly understood. We measured soil organic carbon (SOC), litterfall, root biomass, microbial biomass and soil physical and chemical properties in a wet tropical forest from May 1996 to July 1997 following a 7‐year continuous fertilization. We found that although there was no significant difference in total SOC in the top 0–10 cm of the soils between the fertilization plots (5.42±0.18 kg m?2) and the control plots (5.27±0.22 kg m?2), the proportion of the heavy‐fraction organic C in the total SOC was significantly higher in the fertilized plots (59%) than in the control plots (46%) (P<0.05). The annual decomposition rate of fertilized leaf litter was 13% higher than that of the control leaf litter. We also found that fertilization significantly increased microbial biomass (fungi+bacteria) with 952±48 mg kg?1soil in the fertilized plots and 755±37 mg kg?1soil in the control plots. Our results suggest that fertilization in tropical forests may enhance long‐term C sequestration in the soils of tropical wet forests.  相似文献

The composition and temporal changes of edaphic microarthropods in both litter layer and soil were analyzed in a tropical dry forest ecosystem in Western Mexico. Sampling was carried out from June 1991 to July 1992 in two small watersheds at the Chamela Biological Station (Jalisco State, Mexico). At each watershed 10 random cores samples, 11 cm in diameter and 5 cm depth, were taken monthly from each biotope from an area of 100 m2. Fauna was extracted by Berlese-Tullgren funnels and preserved in 75% ethanol. The total abundance of arthropods was 96,338 specimens, belonging to 33 taxa. Numerically dominant groups were Prostigmata, Cryptostigmata, Collembola and Mesostigmata, which constituted 92.6% of the total abundance. The effect of current monthly precipitation and temperature on density of total Arthropoda and different Orders was also investigated. Precipitation and temperature were significantly correlated with Collembola and Mesostigmata densities and also with total arthropod. The seasonal variation in the amount of litterfall was also significantly related to the abundance of arthropod in the litter layer biotope.  相似文献

AIMS: To investigate the effect of prolonged consumption of a synbiotic milk (Synbiotic) containing Lactobacillus acidophilus (strain 74-2, 10(7) CFU ml(-1)), Bifidobacterium lactis (strain 420, 10(7) CFU ml(-1)) and 2% inulin on colonic ecosystem in healthy humans. METHODS AND RESULTS: A group of 26 healthy subjects, aged 22-47 years, participated in a 6-week placebo-controlled dietary intervention study. After a 2-week baseline period, in which all volunteers consumed 500 ml day(-1) of 2% skimmed milk (Placebo), the study was designed as a randomized, double-blind, two-armed parallel study in which 4-week consumption of 500 ml day portions of Synbiotic or Placebo were compared. Faecal microbial counts, pH, l-lactic acid and bile acid concentrations were assessed before and after the intervention. Synbiotic consumption significantly decreased faecal dry weight (P < 0.01) and l-lactic acid (P < 0.05) concentration, while significantly increased faecal bifidobacteria (P < 0.05) and lactobacilli (P < 0.01) counts. CONCLUSION: The tested synbiotic milk showed its synbiotic nature by enhancing the growth of bifidobacteria and lactobacilli. Forest degradation is leading to widespread negative impacts on biodiversity in South-east Asia. Tropical peat-swamp forests are one South-east Asian habitat in which insect communities, and the impacts of forest degradation on them, are poorly understood. To address this information deficit, we investigated the impacts of forest gaps on fruit-feeding butterflies in the Sabangau peat-swamp forest, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. Fruit-baited traps were used to monitor butterflies for 3 months during the 2009 dry season. A network of 34 traps (ngap = 17, nshade = 17) was assembled in a grid covering a 35 ha area. A total of 445 capture events were recorded, comprising 384 individuals from 8 species and 2 additional species complexes classified to genera. On an inter-site scale, canopy traps captured higher species richness than understory traps; however, understory traps captured higher diversity within each site. Species richness was positively correlated with percent canopy cover and comparisons of diversity indices support these findings. Coupled with results demonstrating morphological differences in thorax volume and forewing length between species caught in closed-canopy traps vs. those in gaps, this indicates that forest degradation has a profound effect on butterfly communities in this habitat, with more generalist species being favored in disturbed conditions. Further studies are necessary to better understand the influences of macro-habitat quality and seasonal variations on butterfly diversity and community composition in South-east Asian peat-swamp forests.  相似文献

采用CCA梯度排序和随机排列(random permutation)检验方法,分析了太白山牛皮桦-巴山冷杉混交林林隙内草本植物组成随林隙梯度变化的分布特征,以及个体数≥5的55种草本植物分布与凸度、坡度、土壤全N、全P、速效N、有效P、pH值和有机质8个林隙生境变量的关联性.结果表明:太白山牛皮桦-巴山冷杉混交林中,林隙面积占林分总面积的19.8%,林隙密度为20.7个.hm-2,其大小在25.6~279.1 m2,平均面积为93.7 m2.林隙面积扩大可以增加草本层物种丰富度,但林隙内69种草本植物中,大部分在所有林隙中都有分布,有8个物种仅出现在面积120 m2的大林隙,即草本植物的分布未呈现出沿林隙大小梯度连续变化的规律.个体数≥5的55种草本植物中,27.3%的物种与生境变量显著相关.林隙面积对物种丰富度的增加作用具有随机性.  相似文献

This study of the biogeochemical cycle of Ca has been carried out in an oak-hornbeam forest ecosystem on a soil derived from the alteration of Famennian (upper Devonian) shales. The physical nature of the geologic substrate made it possible to use the watershed-ecosystem approach by monitoring the loss of Ca by streamflow. Input of hydrogen ions and Ca from rain were average as well as that of mineral nitrogen of which 50% was ammonium-N. Modelling the biogeochemical cycle of Ca in this ecosystem proved to be difficult owing to the heterogeneity of the geologic substrate.The cationic denudation occured mostly with bicarbonate ion as a carrier of the base cations towards the streamflow. Seasonal effects on streamwater cationic composition were in relation to maximal soil respiration occuring in the autumn. In addition to this effect, the electrolyte concentration of streamwater was determined by rain and by changes in concentration of the soil solution either by evapotranspiration or by freezing. In spite of widely fluctuating values of flow rate, the concentration of the streamflow remained constant within a factor of two or at the most three. The mechanism underlying this buffering action of the soil on the concentration of the solution flowing through it, was shown to be related to ion-exchange processes.  相似文献

Nucleation is a successional process in which extant vegetation facilitates seed dispersal and recruitment of other individuals and species around focal points in the landscape, leading to ecosystem recovery. This is an important process in disturbed sites where regeneration is limited by abiotic conditions or restrictive seed dispersal. We investigated forest recovery in a large burned area of evergreen temperate rainforest in southern Chile subjected to seasonal soil waterlogging, and assessed the relevance of nucleation processes in overcoming biotic and physical barriers for tree species regeneration. We measured richness and abundance of woody species in relation to patch size, as well as abiotic factors such as light and soil moisture within and outside patches. We found higher tree regeneration in existing patches than in open areas. We recorded an increase of patch size over time, associated with the increase in number of individuals and tree species. Soils in open areas were waterlogged, especially in winter, while patches were not. Trees in patches also acted as perches, enhancing bird-mediated seed rain. Seeds of fleshy-fruited tree species arrived first at patches and seedlings were more frequent in smaller, younger patches, while the number of seedlings of trees with wind-dispersed seeds increased in larger, older patches. Our study shows that woody species seem incapable of recruiting in open and waterlogged soils and depend strongly on extant vegetation patches to establish. In this fire-disturbed evergreen temperate forest regeneration occurs via nucleation, where new individuals contribute to a centrifugal kind of patch growth.  相似文献

The invasion of exotic species into natural habitats is considered to be a major threat to biodiversity, and many studies have examined how exotic plants directly affect native plant species through competitive interactions for abiotic resources. However, although exotics can have potentially great ecological and evolutionary consequences, very few researchers have studied the effect of exotics on the interactions between plants and their mutualistic partners, such as pollinators, and none have reported on such impacts in logged and undisturbed boreal forest ecosystems. Here we show how experimental introductions of an exotic plant species (Phacelia tanacetifolia Bentham) affect pollinator visitation and female reproductive success of a native plant (Melampyrum pratense L.) in recently disturbed (i.e., logged) and in undisturbed boreal forest habitats. The presence of Phacelia significantly increased the number of bumble bees entering plots in both habitat types. However, the exotic species had a strong negative impact on the visitation rate to the native species in both habitat types. Despite this negative impact on pollinator visitation, the exotic had no effect on female reproductive success of the native species in any habitat. Our results show that seed production may be more robust than pollinator visitation to exotic invasion, irrespective of habitat disturbance history.  相似文献
