A neotype specimen is designated for R. formosa and a representative specimen for R. sanguined, thus securing taxonomic concepts for these names. Two very similar taxa are proposed as new: R. eosanguinea, which differs from R. sanguinea chiefly in exhibiting clamp connections, and R. neoformosa which differs from R. formosa chiefly in the absence of clamps. Rhipidocotyle fennica n. sp. (= Rhipidocotyle Type A of Taskinen et al., 1991) from the intestine of Esox lucius in central Finland is described and compared by means of a principal components analysis (PCA) with R. campanula (= Rhipidocotyle Type B of Taskinen et al., 1991). Its cercaria develops in the bivalve Anodonta anatina and the metacercaria occurs in the skin and fins of Rutilus rutilus. The metacercaria is discriminated from that of R. campanula by PCA and is described along with aspects of the chaetotaxy of the cercaria. The new species is distinguished from R. campanula, R. kovalae, R. papillosa and R. septpapillata.  相似文献

Three species belonging to the genus Rhytisma causing tar spot were collected on leaves in evergreen trees of Ilex species from Japan. Rhytisma ilicis-latifoliae, the known species, is found on Ilex latifolia, and R. ilicis-integrae sp. nov. and R. ilicis-pedunculosae sp. nov. are found on I. integra and I. pedunculosa, respectively. Ascomata are formed on the abaxial part of the stromata in all the Rhytisma species studied, and spermogonia are formed on the amphigenous parts in R. ilicis-latifoliae and on the adaxial part in R. ilicis-integrae and R. ilicis-pedunculosae. Shape and size of asci, ascospores, and spermatia are distinctly different among the three species. The morphology of germination tubes from ascospores and appressoria is unique for each Rhytisma species. Yellowish spots arise on the newly developing leaves in mid-May, then abundant spermatia are produced in spermogonia in the three Rhytisma species. In the next year, ascospores are produced in ascomata from early April to late May in R. ilicis-integrae and from early April to early June in R. ilicis-latifoliae and R. ilicis-pedunculosae, and they are considered to be the inocula of disease infection.  相似文献

Abstract

Fifteen species of Radula from Africa and the Mascarenes are described, of which R. pseudoflaccida is new. The following species are newly reduced to synonyms: R. angustata Steph., R. capensis Steph., R. guineensis Steph., R. macroloba Steph., R. molleri Steph., R. pirottae Gola and R. spongiosa Steph. R. caespitosa Steph. is transferred from R. tabularis Steph. to R. madagascariensis Gottsche.

Habit, stem-structure, leaf-cuticle, perianth and spores provide valuable taxonomic characters which have received little or no attention and which show some degree of correlation. The range of forms shown by the lobule in a single species represent stages in its development.  相似文献

Summary Rhabdometra lygodaptrion n.sp. from the small intestine of Lagopus lagopus albus (willow ptarmigan) taken at Cape Henrietta Maria, northern Ontario, Canada, is proposed. R. lygodaptrion is most similar to R. alpinensis, R. nullicollis and R. tomica but is shorter than all these three species and the cuticularized vaginal lining is characteristic. R. lygodaptrion differs from R. alpinensis in having a thicker, more robust cirrus sac and a larger number of testes and in lacking a vaginal sphincter. R. tomica and R. nullicollis have a pear-shaped cirrus pouch which narrows distally while that of R. lygodaptrion is equally wide along its length. In additon, R. nullicollis has a vaginal sphincter and an elongate, sinuous paruterine organ, which in R. lygodaptrion, is wider and more cone-shaped. R. tomica has fewer testes. One conclusion of this study is that as the road network expands in rural and remote areas the surrounding butterfly populations are generally noted to be decreasing or even disappearing. However, there is one exception, Libythea celtis. This common species, living close to forested areas, have actually increased while thier competing species have decreased according to this study. The endangered species of Korea, Parnassius bremeri, Sinia divina and Argynnis nerippe, which inhabit the area of the study have also decreased or disappeared. Another result of this study is that, while the number of species which inhabit the grasslands have decreased, no similar changes have been noted in the number for the species which inhabit the shrubs. Furthermore, there has been a growth in the numbers of the species that inhabit trees. In addition, the number of individuals has decreased in the grasslands and shrubs but increased in the trees. Overall, the general conclusion of this study is that, while the development of rural and remote areas showed a decrease in the number of specific butterfly species, they are being replaced by more common species.  相似文献

With 600 species Ranunculus is the largest genus in Ranunculaceae, and has a broad global distribution. We studied the karyotypes of R. constantinopolitanus and R. sericeus species of Ranunculaceae and identified their symmetry level. New chromosome numbers of 2n = 21 (Nodeh woods population) and 2n ca. 63 (Javaherdeh population) are reported for R. constantinopolitanus. Two different populations of R. sericeus had two different chromosome results. We investigated morphological and karyological studies along with pollens micromorphology. Different populations of R. constantinopolitanus and R. sericeus, with different chromosome numbers showed morphological and micromorphological differences. Therefore, we considered the two populations of R. sericeus as cytotypes. There was a correlation between the studied morphological characters and pollen size with ploidy levels in the two R. constantinopolitanus populations.  相似文献

The genomic constitutions of Roegneria alashanica, R. elytrigioides, R. magnicaespes and R. grandis were studied using GISH. DNA of Pseudoroegneria spicata (St), P. libanotica (St), P. stipifolia (St), R. ciliaris (StY), Lopophyllum elongatum (Ee), Agropyron cristatum (P) and Hordeum bogdanii (H) were used for probing, respectively. The results indicated that: 1) R. alashanica and R. magnicaespes contained one St genome, the other genome was unidentified, however, it was not an E, P, H or Y genome; 2) R. elytrigioides contained two St genomes and should on this basis be included in Pseudoroegneria; 3) R. grandis contained an St and an Stg genome. The Stg genome is suggested to be a modified form of the St genome of Pseudoroegneria and to be homoeologous with the Y genome. It might be an intermediate type between the St and Y genomes. Therefore, R. elytrigioides should be treated as Pseudoroegneriaelytrigioides.Roegneria alashanica, R. magnicaespes and R. grandis does apparently not belong in the genus Roegneria but further studies are needed to establish their correct taxonomic position.  相似文献

Based on the results of phenotypic characterization, cellular lipid and fatty acid analysis, phylogenetic analysis of 16S rDNA nucleotide sequences and rRNA-DNA hybridization, Burkholderia pickettii, Burkholderia solanacearum and Alcaligenes eutrophus are transferred to the new genus Ralstonia, and Ralstonia pickettii (Ralston, Palleroni and Doudoroff 1973) comb. nov., Ralstonia solanacearum (Smith 1896) comb, nov., and R. eutropha (Davis 1969) comb. nov. are proposed. The type species of the new genus is R. pickettii. Type strain of R. pickettii is ATCC 27511T, of R. solanacearum is ATCC 10696T, and of R. eutropha is ATCC 17697T.  相似文献

In this, our second study on the biosystematics of the Rhipicephalus sanguineus group, we consider an additional five species found in the Afrotropical region, namely R. sanguineus, R. camicasi, R. guilhoni, R. moucheti and R. bergeoni.Cross-breeding experiments have shown that R. sanguineus (Latreille, 1806) sensu stricto is genetically distinct from R. camicasi Morel, Mouchet & Rodhain, 1976. Further cross-breeding trials confirmed that R. camicasi also occurs in Saudi Arabia: a field strain from this country was more productive than a laboratory-reared strain from Egypt. R. sanguineus, which parasitises mainly dogs, probably occurs throughout the Afrotropical region. R. camicasi parasitises both large and small domestic ruminants and is restricted to the arid and semi-arid lowlands of northeastern Africa and the Arabian peninsula. The larva, nymph, male and female of these two last named species are described with the aid of scanning electron micrographs (SEMs).The two western African species, R. guilhoni Morel & Vassiliades, 1963 and R. moucheti Morel, 1964, are accepted as valid members of the R. sanguineus group, but we have little material available for critical study. The male and female of R. guilhoni are briefly redescribed with the aid of SEMs. R. bergeoni Morel & Balis, 1976 occurs predominantly on cattle in the wetter highlands and subhighlands of Ethiopia and Sudan. The male and female are briefly described. Current morphological and ecological data suggest that the inclusion of this species in the R. sanguineus group is questionable.  相似文献

The following gill monogeneans are described, based on a survey of 240 Rastrelliger kanagurta, 12 R. faughni and 185 R. brachysoma (Scombridae) from many geographical areas: Eyelavera typica from R. kanagurta, R. faughni and R. brachysoma, Indomazocraes jagannath from R. kanagurta and R. faughni, Kuhnia sprostonae from R. kanagurta and R. brachysoma, and Kuhnia scombercolias from R. kanagurta and R. brachysoma. Eyelavera parukhini Lebedev, 1980 is synonymised with E. typica, Scomberocotyle eyela Unnithan, 1964 with Indomazocraes jagannath, Kuhnia microlepidotusi Gupta & Krishna, 1977 and K. kanagurta Mamaev & Parukhin, 1986 with K. sprostonae, K. arabica Mamaev & Parukhin, 1986 with K. scombercolias Nasir & Fuentes Zambrano, 1983. It is emphasized that populations of Monogenea from the same host species or genus in different geographical areas are likely to be conspecific, and should not be described as different species, if they differ only slightly from each other. Monogenea that differ from insufficiently described species in minor detail should not be described as new species unless material of the original species has been examined.  相似文献

  • 1 Apion curtirostre is the commonest weevil attacking Rumex acetosa in the Lancaster area.
  • 2 The ovipositional behaviour, larval development, emergence and hibernation of A. curtirostre are described.
  • 3 From dissection of samples of stems of R. acetosa, abundance curves for the stages of A. curtirostre and its chalcid parasitoids were constructed and the between-stage mortalities determined.
  • 4 There is an exponential relationship between R. acetosa stem height and number of A. curtirostre eggs laid.
  • 5 Male stems of R. acetosa appear earlier and are smaller than female stems. Taller stems, at least in female plants, live longer than shorter ones.
  • 6 Apion survival is lower in male than in female stems.
  • 7 Stem sex is the primary determinant of opposition choice with stem thickness a secondary determinant.
  • 8 A. curtirostre eggs introduced experimentally into stems of four Rumex species survived significiantly better in R. acetosa than in any other species. Survival in R. acetosa female plants was twice that in males.
  • 9 Survival of A. curtirostre eggs at densities of 4, 8 and 16 per R. acetosa stem was twice that at densities of 32 and 64 per stem.
  • 10 The stem size of female R. acetosa was reduced as the number of attacking weevils increased. There was no significant effect in males. No adverse effect on seed production was detected.
  • 11 The nature of the relationship between A. curtirostre and R. acetosa is discussed.

Abstract The polymerase chain reaction?restriction fragment length polymorphism technique (PCR?RFLP) was used to compare Rhodnius domesticus (Neiva & Pinto), R. pictipes (Stal), R. prolixus (Stal) and R. stali (Lent, Jurberg & Galvão) (Hemiptera: Reduviidae). The enzyme BstUI differentiated R. domesticus, R. pictipes and R. prolixus, and HhaI differentiated R. domesticus, R. pictipes and R. stali. With the fingerprinting analysis generated by these two enzymes, it was possible to clearly identify all four species in the study.  相似文献

Abstract

We revised both the holotype and an isotype of Riccia teneriffae S.W.Arnell 1962 and additionally revised our own collections of Riccia cavernosa Hoffm. 1795 from the Canary Islands. Since the types of R. teneriffae represent R. cavernosa, and the latter name precedes the former, R. teneriffae should be treated as a synonym of R. cavernosa. In the Canary Islands, R. cavernosa appears to be rare. It has been found on La Gomera, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Tenerife. We report it as new to Fuerteventura. R. cavernosa inhabits ephemeral, thin layers of mud. Very rarely it occurs on basaltic pyroclasts. SEM images of spores are presented. The local distribution is mapped.  相似文献

For many years the biosystematic status of several species in the Rhipicephalus sanguineus group has been confused, with the result that they have often been misidentified. Over the years some 18 of these species have been synonymised with R. sanguineus (Latreille, 1806) itself. More recently four new species in the group have been described: R. guilhoni Morel & Vassiliades, 1963; R. moucheti Morel, 1964; R. bergeoni Morel & Balis, 1976; and R. camicasi Morel, Mouchet & Rodhain, 1976.The literature on this group is critically reviewed and the main systematic problems analysed. R. sulcatus Neumann, 1908 and R. turanicus Pomerantsev, 1936 are two species that were confused both morphologically and ecologically. This has resulted in erroneous conclusions regarding their host relationships and distributions. Integrated biological, morphological and ecological studies on these two species have been conducted. Cross-breeding experiments have proved that both are distinct taxonomic entities. Interbreedings between African and Cypriot strains of R. turanicus demonstrated marked heterosis.A scanning electron microscope was used to determine the main diagnostic morphological differences between the larvae, nymphae and adults of R. sulcatus and R. turanicus, and the morphological similarities between African and Cypriot strains of R. turanicus. Rhipicephalus sulcatus occurs widely in the Afrotropical region in wetter ecological habitats and most frequently parasitises hares, dogs and jackals. R. turanicus occurs more-or-less throughout the Afrotropical region in a wide range of climatic biotopes, as well as in parts of southern Europe, Arabia and Asia, and is most abundant in the late rainy/early dry seasons. It occurs on a wide range of domesticated and wildlife hosts, including ground-feeding birds.  相似文献

Morphological and karyological investigations as well as crossing experiments were carried out withR. cacuminis, R. crenatus, andR. alpestris. A key is presented including all 6 taxa of theR. alpestris-group. Ecological and geographical data for the Balkan Peninsula are also presented.R. cacuminis is diploid with 2n = 16 chromosomes as all taxa of the group, its karyotype exhibits no statistically significant differences to those from the 5 other taxa. In crossing experiments betweenR. cacuminis andR. alpestris, no hybrids could be obtained, whereas those betweenR. cacuminis andR. crenatus were slightly successful. According to its morphology, geographical distribution, and crossing behaviour,R. cacuminis is closely related toR. crenatus, and probably has originated fromR. crenatus by quantum speciation.  相似文献

The genus Rhinanthus L. is complex, containing many taxonomically unresolved taxa. In this paper we studied genetic variation and species relationships in 15 populations of six Rhinanthus species from three sections. For this purpose, we developed new microsatellite primers for R. osiliensis and used them to investigate genetic variation in two narrow endemics (R. osiliensis, R. javorkae) and in four widespread species (R. rumelicus R. wagneri, R. angustifolius and R. minor). Species‐specific private alleles were found in all species except R. osiliensis and R. angustifolius. The Bulgarian endemic R. javorkae showed the lowest genetic variation, followed by widespread R. minor and Estonian endemic R. osiliensis. Rhinanthus javorkae and R. minor were genetically most differentiated. Section Cleistolemus is weakly structured genetically, indicating close affinity between R. osiliensis, R. rumelicus, R. wagneri and R. angustifolius.  相似文献

The effect of rye chromosomes on polyembryony was studied for reciprocal hybrid combinations between (Hordeum vulgare L.)-Triticum aestivum L. alloplasmic recombinant lines and five wheat T. aestivum L. (cultivar Saratovskaya 29)-rye Secale cereale L. (cultivar Onokhosikaya) substitution lines: 1R(1D), 2R(2D), 3R(3B), 5R(5A), and 6R(6A), and for direct hybrid combinations between the [H. marinum ssp. gussoneanum (H. geniculatum All.)]-T. aestivum alloplasmic recombinant line and the wheat-rye substitution lines 1R(1A), 1R(1D), and 3R(3B). Chromosomes 1R and 3R of rye cultivar Onokhoiskaya proved to affect the expression of polyembryony in the hybrid combinations that involved the alloplasmic recombinant lines of common wheat as maternal genotypes. Based on this finding, polyembryony was regarded as a phenotypic expression of nuclear-cytoplasmic interactions where an important role is played by rye chromosomes 1R and 3R and the H. vulgare cytoplasm. Consideration is given to the association between the effect of rye chromosomes 1R and 3R on polyembryony in the [(Hordeum)-T. aestivum × wheat-rye substitution lines] hybrid combinations and their stimulating effect on the development on androgenic embryoids in isolated anther cultures of the wheat-rye substitution lines. One new species, Rhododendron subroseum Xiang Chen & Jiayong Huang, and one new variety, R. denudatum var. glabriovarium Xiang Chen & Xun Chen (Ericaceae), from the Guizhou Province, China are described and illustrated. Rhododendron subroseum is most similar to R. morii from which it differs mainly by having glandular branchlets, a subcordate leaf blade base and a mucronate leaf blade apex, a less floriferous inflorescence, a campanulate to broadly‐campanulate corolla, and a glandular‐hairy style. Rhododendron denudatum var. glabriovarium differs from R. denudatum var. denudatum mainly by having a glabrous ovary. Both of the new taxa are quite rare and therefore their protection is highly desired.  相似文献

Morphological and cytological investigations as well as crossing experiments were carried out withRanunculus seguieri Vill. and 4 species of theRanunculus alpestris L. group (R. alpestris L.,R. traunfellneri Hoppe,R. bilobus Bertol.,R. crenatus Waldst. & Kit.). ForR. seguieri andR. alpestris, localities and distribution are given in addition to extensive diagnoses. A key to the species includes morphological characteristics and distribution data forR. traunfellneri, R. bilobus, andR. crenatus. New diagnostic characters are described. Crossing experiments betweenR. seguieri and the species of theR. alpestris group were unsuccessful. All 5 species have a chromosome number of 2n = 16, the record forR. bilobus is new. There is no statistically significant difference between the karyotypes ofR. seguieri andR. alpestris s. str. Nevertheless, according to morphological evidence and crossing experiments,R. seguieri is not closely related to theR. alpestris group.
