研究不同光照周期(长光照18L﹕6D、短光照8L﹕16D、连续光照24L﹕0D、连续黑暗0L﹕24D和对照组12L﹕12D)条件对锦鲤(Cyprinus carpio)生长、能量收支及生物钟基因相对表达量的影响, 实验周期为90d。结果表明, 在整个试验周期, 各光周期处理组成活率无显著变化(P>0.05), 24L组和18L﹕6D组饲料系数显著低于12L﹕12D组、8L﹕16D组和24D组(P<0.05)。终末体重、特定生长率在实验前30d内受光照影响不大(P>0.05), 而实验30d后出现显著变化, 延长光周期尤其是连续光照会显著增加终末体重和特定生长率(P<0.05); 对比连续黑暗0L﹕24D组, 其他光周期处理组锦鲤摄食能分配在代谢和生长的比例显著增加(P<0.05); 4个生物钟相关Clock、Per2、Cry1和Bmal1基因相对表达水平无明显规律。综上所述, 延长光照时间, 尤其是连续光照有利于锦鲤幼鱼的生长和发育。  相似文献

Groups of juvenile tench (7.02 ± 0.28 g) were reared under four different light regimes; blue light, red light (80 Wm−2 12L:12D photoperiod) white light (912 ± 210 lux, 80 Wm−2, 12L:12D photoperiod) and no light (0 lux) (0L:24D). Visibility of fish out of shelters was used as an indicator of activity and was monitored by video recording. Blood plasma cortisol concentrations were also measured. Fish under blue or white light were significantly less active during the photophase than those under red or no light (P < 0.01). Red light produced similar activity patterns to fish receiving 24 h darkness. Plasma cortisol concentrations were also significantly influenced (P < 0.05) with the fish under white light having the highest plasma cortisol concentration (317 ± 62 ng cm−3) compared to fish in the dark treatment (106 ± 36 ng cm−3). Thus, the provision of coloured light filters increases activity in juvenile tench and may reduce their intrinsic stress level.  相似文献

Because of the effect of photoperiod on physiological and biochemical processes in fish, this study aimed to evaluate the effect of manipulated photoperiod on growth, feed conversion and survival of wild carp, Cyprinus carpio. Fish received six photoperiod regimes (light:dark cycle) including: natural photoperiod (control), 24L:0D, 16L:8D, 12L:12D, 8L:16D and 0L:24D by the three replications. Regulated photoperiods as a 16L:8D or 12L:12D light/dark cycle significantly improved growth rate and food conversion ratio of wild carp.  相似文献

In this study, we investigated the effect of photoperiod on growth and gonadal development of juvenile topmouth gudgeon, Pseudorasbora parva. Seven different photoperiods (light:dark, L:D) were tested: 0L:24D, 4L:20D, 8L:16D, 12L:12D, 16L:8D, 20L:4D and 24L:0D, from November to January. Throughout the study, light intensity was kept at 400 lx on the water surface, and the fish were fed a commercial diet twice a day. Weight gain, feed intake, specific growth rate, and feed conversion efficiency were significantly higher under the constant–long day photoperiods (24L:0D, 20L:4D and 16L:8D) than those under the short–no day photoperiods (12L:12D, 8L:16D, 4L:20D, 0L:24D) (p?<?0.05). The highest mean female gonadosomatic index (GSI) and mean oocyte size were observed under 24L:0D followed by 20L:4D and 16L:8D photoperiods, and these parameters were significantly higher than those of fish cultured under the short–no day photoperiod regimes (p?<?0.05). Proportion of females with GSI?>?9 % were 50.00 %, 46.67 %, 48.48 %, in 24L:0D, 20L:4D and 16L:8D, respectively. These results demonstrate that the growth of juvenile P. parva can be stimulated significantly by constant–long photoperiods and that these photoperiods can advance sexual maturity of females by approximately 2 months.  相似文献

The western flower thrips, Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande) (Thysanoptera: Thripidae), is a major pest in glasshouses, where light and photoperiod are often manipulated to grow crops. The effect of five photoperiods (L0:D24, L6:D18, L12:D12, L18:D6, and L24:D0) on the behaviour of adult females was investigated in the laboratory at 25 °C. The amount of walking, pollen consumption, and oviposition all increased with increasing photophase. The three behaviours occurred at a low rate in continuous darkness, and are therefore not exclusively diurnal. Three out of 16 thrips (19%) showed weakly rhythmic walking activity in continuous darkness, with an average circadian period of 25.3 ± 1.5 h. It is proposed that the length of the photophase determines the amount of nutrient intake, which in turn determines oviposition rate and thus affects population increase.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to determine the effects of light intensity and duration (photoperiod) on the sporulation (discharge of primary conidia) and conidia germination (from non-infective primary conidia to infective capilliconidia) of Neozygites floridana isolates from Tetranychus urticae originating from Norway and Brazil. Two light intensities (40 and 208 μmol m−2 s−1), three photoperiods (24 h of continuous light (24 h D), 12 h of darkness followed by 12 h of light (12 h D: 12 h L) and 24 h of continuous darkness (24 h D)) and two temperatures (18 °C and 23 °C) were tested. The fungus produced similar amounts of primary conidia and capilliconidia at 12 h D:12 h and 24 h D, indicating that the fungus discharges almost all of its conidia during the first 12 h of darkness. Light had less of an effect on the production of primary conidia than on capilliconidia formation. At 24 h L, capilliconidia formation was significantly lower for all tested light intensities, temperatures and isolates compared to 12 h D:12 h L and 24 h D. At both light intensities, 24 h L resulted in a significantly lower capilliconidia formation for the Norwegian isolate compared to the Brazilian isolate. Our data suggest that, even though 24 h L reduced sporulation, some capilliconidia formation may occur at the low light intensities found on the underside of strawberry leaves during parts of the day as well as the top of a non-shaded strawberry leaf during the dim evening and morning hours in the tropics and during the dim, long summer days in temperate regions.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to control the reproductive cycle of pikeperch (Sander lucioperca) through determining the effects of different photoperiods and handling stress on the reproduction quality, timing and quality of spawning, fertilization, sex steroids, and cortisol concentrations. In this study, 72 pikeperch broodstocks with an average weight of 1367 ± 55.3 g were exposed to different photoperiods including constant light (24L:0D), constant darkness (0L:24D), and 12 h of light, 12 h of darkness (12L:12D) for 40 days. Half of the broodstocks of each photoperiod treatment were exposed to handling stress at a specific time of the day. Applying different photoperiods caused changes in the timing of broodstocks' spawning, so that fish under 24L:0D spawned earlier than those of other photoperiods, and stressed fish of the 0L:24D photoperiod had a delayed spawning compared to others. Also, the spawning of the broodstocks at different photoperiods which were exposed to handling stress was either delayed or did not occur at all. The highest and lowest spawnings were observed in the morning and at night, respectively. Fertilization percentage, number of eggs per gram, sex steroids including estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone, as well as cortisol and calcium concentrations did not show any significant difference in different photoperiods and handling stress. In stressed males of the 24L:0D photoperiod, there only was a significant decrease of testosterone concentration compared to the beginning of the experiment. Results indicated that the spawning performance of pikeperch broodstocks could be considerably stimulated using an effective photoperiod. Similarly, pikeperch broodstocks in culture systems are usually affected by handling stress, and this stress could lead to a poor reproductive performance and inhibition of spawning.  相似文献

Abstract

A study was made on the developmental rhythms of Ephestia kuehniella during different photoperiods: constant lighting (L/L), under conditions of 12 hours light per day (L/D) and in constant darkness (D/D). Observations were made every 2 hrs, for 3 successive 24‐hr periods, of the number of wandering larvae emerging from food, the number of pupations and of imaginai moults. Emergence of wandering larvae is rhythmic only under L/D conditions, and in addition this is also affected by the density of the larvae. Rhythm is least apparent with greatest density of the larvae. Pupation in E. kuehniella is a non‐rhythmic process with each of the photoperiods examined, whereas the imaginai moult is characterized by an endogenous (existing under D/D conditions) rhythm. Emergence of imagines is non‐rhythmic under L/L, and also when pupae under L/D fail to receive the final period of darkness. The rhythm of the imaginai moult is possibly controlled by the biological clock, which stops under conditions of constant light.  相似文献

Protein synthesis is an essential growth process in all animals. Little information is available on post-prandial protein synthesis and even less where different protein sources are compared. Protein synthesis was measured at 4 and 24 h after feeding juvenile barramundi in order to determine the effect of using lupin as a partial protein replacement for fish meal on the post-prandial protein metabolism. Juvenile barramundi (4.3 ±0.6 g) were held in a recirculation system (27 °C, salinity 10‰ and 24 h light) for 15 days. Fish were fed one of two isonitrogenous isoenergetic diets (40% crude protein, 16% lipid and 18.5 GE MJ kg− 1). One diet was formulated with 100% fish meal as the protein source while the other had 45% of the protein replaced with lupin ingredients (lupin kernel meal (Lupinus angustifolius) and lupin protein concentrate). All fish were fed a ration of 6%·d− 1 and feed intake was not significantly different between the two diets. Specific growth rate (SGR) and growth efficiency (in relation to protein (PPV) and energy (PEV)) were 6.5 ± 0.14%·d− 1, 43.8 ± 2.72% and 38.31 ± 1.56%, respectively, and were not significantly different between the two diets. There was no significant difference in protein synthesis between the two diets at 4 and 24 h after feeding, however protein synthesis was significantly higher 4 h after feeding than at 24 h (p = 0.02). Neither growth performance nor protein metabolism was altered by replacing 45% of the protein with lupin protein and indicated this to be a suitable protein source for barramundi feeds.  相似文献

-The effect of photoperiod on growth of juvenile giant freshwater prawns, Macrobrachium rosenbergii de Man, was tested. The prawns were divided into four groups and each group was reared under one of the following light-dark conditions: continuous darkness (L0:D24), 12 hr light: 12 hr dark (L12:D12), 16 hr light: 8 hr dark (L16:D8), and 20 hr light: 4 hr dark (L20:D4). Body size was determined at the age of 45, 75, and 110 days by measuring total length, orbital length, and carapace length; body weight was determined at the age of 110 days. At 110 days of age, the prawns reared under L0:D24 photoperiod were significantly longer and heavier than those reared under other light-dark conditions. The survival rate of the prawns reared under L0:D24 photoperiod was also higher than that of other groups. This study indicates a positive effect of continuous darkness on growth and survival rate of juvenile giant freshwater prawns, M. rosenbergii.  相似文献

飞虱虫疠霉(Pandoradelphacis)是侵染飞虱和叶蝉等重要作物害虫的昆虫病原真菌。通过在液体及平板培养中研究光周期对菌丝及菌落生长量、产孢节律和产孢量的影响,作者发现光照对液培菌丝的营养生长无显著影响,但长光照液培菌丝的产孢延迟并且产孢量减少,而全黑暗液培菌丝产孢早且产孢量大。但是,光照明显促进全黑暗下液培菌丝的产孢。在平板培养中,长光照能促进菌落生长和产孢;半光照半黑暗虽有利菌落生长,但产孢量很低;光照9h和18h产孢量较大,但菌落生长较小。无论液体还是平板培养,飞虱虫疠霉均生长良好,但建议在全黑暗条件下进行液体培养,在长光照下进行平板培养。  相似文献

Thick-lipped lenok, Brachymystax lenok is one of the ancient fish species in China and northeast Asia countries. Due to the overfishing, the population of lenok has been declined significantly. Cathelicidins are innate immune effectors that possess both bactericidal activities and immunomodulatory functions. This report identifies and characterizes the salmonoid cathelicidin (CATH_BRALE) from this ancient fish. It consists of open reading frame (ORF) of 886 bp encoding the putative peptide of 199 amino acids. Sequence alignment with other representative salmonid cathelicidins displayed two distinctive features of current lenok cathelicidin: high level of arginine, resulting in high positive charge and glycine residues, which is significantly different from most acknowledged types of cathelicidins; and the six-amino-acid tandem repeated sequence of RPGGGS detected in a variable number of copies among fish cathelicidins, suggesting the existence of a genetically unstable region similar to that found in some mammalian cathelicidins. Expression of CATH_BRALE is predominantly found in gill, with lower levels in the gastrointestinal tract and spleen. The homology modeled structure of CATH_BRALE exhibits structural features of antiparallel β-sheets flanked by α-helices that are representative of small cationic cathelicidin family peptides. CATH_BRALE possesses much stronger antimicrobial activity against gram-negative bacteria than that of the human ortholog, LL-37. The growth of two typical fish bacterial pathogens, gram-negative bacterium of Aeromonas salmonicida and Aeromonas hydrophila was substantially inhibited by synthetic CATH_BRALE, with both MICs as low as 9.38 μM.  相似文献

Summary In the present study, the effect of different photoperiods: 3, 6, 9, 12 and 18 hr followed by a dark period in a 24 hr cycle, as well as total darkness, continuous light and diffuse light in relation to growth behaviour was observed in Solanum surattense. The influence on the pattern of root and shoot development, stomata, chlorophyll content, green weight, dry weight, fresh weight, monosaccharides, total nitrogen have been analysed. Continuing loss of native orchid habitat has lead to an increased emphasis on orchid conservation. Major obstacles in the production of native orchid seedlings for use in conservation have been: (1) development of efficient and reliable seed germination protocols and (2) an understanding of early seedling growth and development. Effects of six asymbiotic media (Modified Lucke, Murashige & Skoog, Lindemann, Vacin & Went, Malmgren Modified, Knudson C), four exogenous cytokinins (BA, Zea, Kin, 2-iP), and three photoperiods (0/24, 16/8, 24/0 h L/D) were examined on seed germination and early protocorm development of Habenaria macroceratitis, a rare native Florida terrestrial orchid. Finally, the effects of three photoperiods (8/16, 12/12, 16/8 h L/D) on in vitro seedling development were examined. Percent seed germination was highest on both LM and KC after seven weeks culture (LM = 89.1%, KC = 89.2%); however, protocorm development was enhanced on MM after both seven and 16 weeks. Both zeatin and kinetin at 1 μM enhanced seed germination (Zea = 58.1%, Kin = 47.2%). Final percent seed germination (91.7%) and protocorm development (Stage 4) was increased in the absence of light (0/24 h L/D). In␣vitro seedlings cultured under 8/16 h L/D conditions produced the highest number of tubers per seedling (1.06) with the greatest tuber (42.7 μg) and shoot (fwt = 69.5 μg) biomass and tuber diameter (3.1 mm).  相似文献

The peformance of the parasitoid Anagyrus kamali Moursi [Hymenoptera: Encyrtidae], as a function of host density, temperature, and photoperiod was investigated with the objective to optimize a mass-rearing system in the context of a biological control program. The number of hosts parasitized at densities varying from 2–100 hibiscus mealybug (HMB), Maconellicoccus hirsutus Green [Homoptera: Pseudococcidae], corresponded to a type II-III functional response in fixed-time conditions and a type III in variable-time conditions. Twenty-six percent of the oviposited eggs led to progeny emergence with a sex ratio of 0.49±0.102 (M/F), regardless of host density. Fecundity and oviposition period under six abiotic combinations (i.e., two temperatures (26±2 °C and 32±2 °C) and three photoperiods (L0:D24, L12:D12, L24:D0)) were measured. Lifetime fecundity and reproductive life were significantly affected by temperature and photoperiod conditions. Optimum female parasitoid lifetime fecundity was attained at 26±2 °C, L0:D24 with an average of 116.1±17.43 eggs. At 32±2 °C, L24:D0 and L12:D12, an average of 79.4±34.57 and 85.8±35.81 eggs were laid, respectively. Reproductive longevity was maximal at 26±2 °C, L0:D24 with 12±4.85 days of oviposition. Because the parasite A. kamali can be reared optimally without light, this may save tremendous energy costs.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to determine to what extent juvenile Japanese flounder can adapt to different stocking densities in captivity and to examine whether growth and some physiological parameters critical for welfare might be affected by different dissolved oxygen levels. Japanese flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) juveniles (initial weight 1.27 ± 0.04 g/fish) were reared at five stocking densities (500, 1,000, 1,500, 2,000, 2,500 ind/m3) and two levels of dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration (5.5 ± 0.5 mg/L or 14 ± 2 mg/L) with duplicate tanks for each treatment in water‐recirculating systems for 40 days. Survival and activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) were not affected either by stocking density or dissolved oxygen, whereas final body weight, specific growth rate (SGR) and feed conversion efficiency (FCE) of fish under low DO concentration decreased significantly with increasing stocking density. In contrast, growth of fish reared in high DO levels were unaffected by the stocking density. Furthermore, fish in this group had a higher feed intake and, consequently, grew faster (SGR) and achieved a higher final weight than fish reared at the low DO level. A significant reduction in hemoglobin (Hb) concentration and red blood cell (RBC) count of fish were recorded as DO concentration increased. Furthermore, the activity of protease decreased significantly with increasing stocking density and increased significantly with increasing DO concentration. The ventilation frequency results indicate that gill ventilation decreased significantly as DO levels increased. This study demonstrates that stocking density can affect the growth performance and physiological parameters critical for welfare of juvenile Japanese flounder. Also shown is that pure oxygen supplementation is an effective way to improve the growth of juvenile Japanese flounder when reared at a high stocking density.  相似文献

In this experiment the effects of stocking density on growth and survival of juvenile Brachymystax lenok were studied. Experimental fishes were reared at different stocking densities (5, 25, 50 and 75 fish L?1) for 40 days at ambient temperatures (11.2–16.4°C). During the experiment, dissolved oxygen (DO) was above 5.4 mg L?1 and other major environmental factors were controlled at the same levels in each aquarium (DO 5.4–7.2 mg L?1, pH 6.6–7.4, and flow‐through rates 0.3–0.4 L s?1). Mortality data in each group was recorded daily and random samples of 30 juveniles were measured and weighed every 10 days. All statistical analyses were performed by anova . The survival rate was found to be significantly affected by stocking density, but not the condition factor (CF), specific growth rate (SGR) or coefficients of variation (CV).The results demonstrate that lenok juveniles can be reared at higher stocking densities, which can increase survival under intensive conditions.  相似文献

Skin mucosal lymphoid tissues of fish are the first line of defence against pathogen invasion. We investigated the effects of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum subsp. plantarum L7, singularly or in combination with Limosilactobacillus reuteri P16, on mucosal immunity and diseases resistance of carp Cyprinus carpio. C. carpio (average weight: 26.28 ± 1.02 g) were divided into five experimental groups. Fish in each group were fed with one of the following potential probiotic-supplemented diets: control (0 – basal diet), D1 (107 CFU/g L7), D2 (108 CFU/g L7), D3 (109 CFU/g L7), and D4 (108 CFU/g L7 + 108 CFU/g P16). Eight weeks post-feeding, growth performance was higher in D4, with a final weight gain of 67.18 ± 1.47 g. Results showed a significantly higher skin mucosal lysozyme, alkaline phosphatase, mucus protein level, superoxide dismutase, and catalase activities in D2 and D4 compared to the control. However, potential probiotics had no significant effect on skin mucosal immunoglobulin level. Skin mucus of D4 exhibited stronger inhibition zones against pathogenic bacterial strains. Moreover, digestive enzyme activities (protease, lipase) were highest in D4. Intesinal lactic acid bacterial counts of fish fed combind probiotics (i.e. D4) was significantly higher than the control. Further, supplementation of potential probiotics altered the expression of IL-1β, TNF-α, and IL-10 cytokines. Fish from D4 exhibited significantly higher relative post-challenge survival (69.7%) against Aeromonas hydrophila, followed by D2 (66.67%). Therefore, the inclusion of L. plantarum subsp. plantarum L7 at 108 CFU/g or in combination with L. reuteri P16 could enhance the growth performance, mucosal immune responses, and disease resistance of C. carpio.

The metamorphic rate of Rana pipiens tadpoles was studied under different photoperiods, daylengths, and feeding schedules. Tail resorption and hindlimb growth and development induced by immersion in 30 μg/l thyroxine (T4) were accelerated under longer photoperiods and continuous light when 6L: 18D, 12L: 12D, 18L: 6D, and 24L regimes were compared. Constant light exposure did not produce faster development than an 18 hr photoperiod, and initially was less effective. The rate of spontaneous and T4-induced metamorphosis was greater the shorter the day on 9L:9D, 12L: 12D, or 15L: 15D cycles, although all groups received the same overall amount of light, but in different dosages. When feeding schedule but not the LD cycle was varied, groups of tadpoles fed on 18, 24, or 30 hr regimes showed no differences in growth and development rate on 19L: 5D, and only random variations under continuous light. Differences in metamorphic rate on 18, 24, or 30 hr days are not due to the feeding schedules, but to the LD cycles. From these experiments we conclude that illumination, particularly the length and frequency of the photoperiod, affects the utilization of T4. Development rates independent of the total amount of illumination, but related to daylength and light schedule, suggest interaction of light with an endogenous timing mechanism.  相似文献
