Length–weight relationships (LWR) for five Gobiidae species collected by trawl net in Bohai Bay, China, were determined. Parameter b in the LWR was 2.871, 2.664, 2.901, 3.237 and 2.882 for Amblychaeturichthys hexanema, Synechogobius ommaturus, Odontamblyopus rubicundus, Tridentiger barbatus and Paratrypauchen microcephalus, respectively. This is the first report in FishBase for the fitted LWRs of three of the Gobiidae species mentioned above.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) were evaluated for six freshwater species from the Seyhan Reservoir (south‐eastern Anatolia, Turkey): Alburnus orontis, Capoeta angorae, Capoeta erhani, Garra rufa, Luciobarbus pectoralis and Salaria fluviatilis. A total of 525 specimens were captured from five locations using gill nets, scoop nets, and trammel nets of various mesh sizes in November 2012, March 2013 and September 2013. Regressions of all species were found to be significant. These are the first LWR reports for these species from the Seyhan River basin, and the first LWR reports for three of these species (Alburnus orontis, Garra rufa, Luciobarbus pectoralis) from inland waters of Turkey.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWR), W = aLb, were estimated for nine fish species belonging to three orders, four families and nine genera from the Hunan Zhangjiajie Chinese Giant Salamander National Natural Reserve, in the northwestern part of Hunan Province of central China. Six of the species are endemic to China, of which three are also endemic to the Yangtze River. The r2 value ranged from 0.9546 to 0.9924. Values of b varied from 2.9177 to 3.6752. This study represents the first reference on LWR for nine species, and are new maximum length records for six species.  相似文献

This study reports the Length-Weight Relationships (LWR) for 10 freshwater fish species sampled in the Atlantic Rainforest, Southern Brazil. Sampling was conducted between 2016 and 2017, in nine streams, using electrofishing. Collected fishes were fixed in formalin, and thus some shrinking was unavoidable. The values of parameter b of the LWR (W = aLb) ranged between 2.5 and 3.5. We report for the first time the LWR for seven species: Geophagus iporanguensis, Isbrueckerichthys duseni, Hypostomus interruptus, Kronichthys lacerta, Chasmocranu lopezi, Astyanax lacustris e Neoplecostomus ribeirensis. We highlight the importance of the LWR data in supporting further studies on fish stocks and environment in the Atlantic Rainforest, thereby contributing to the database needed to develop fisheries management and maintenance of ecosystem services.  相似文献

Here the length–weight relationships (LWR, hereafter) of Pareiorhina pelicicei, Trichomycterus candidus, T. pirabitira, and T. piratymbara are provided. Samples of each species were collected between April and July 2017 with a hand net (1.5 mm mesh) in three sites from the upper Paraná River basin, Southeastern Brazil. These results increase knowledge about the LWR of Neotropical freshwater fish.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationship (LWR) was estimated for three fish species from the northern coast of Yucatan peninsula in the Gulf of Mexico. All specimens were monthly collected from September 2015 to October 2016 by recreational fishing (handlining). A total of 408 individuals (15 Calamus campechanus, 9 Opsanus beta and 384 Sphoeroides nephelus) were sampled and analyzed. Information regarding LWR data for one of these species were not yet available in FishBase database, two of them have limited data and a new record of maximum length is presented.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWR) were estimated for 17 species and total length at first maturity (L50) for three species of freshwater fishes from the Miranda River, southern Pantanal, Brazil. The b values were compared for some species in the Paraguay River basin with the northern (Cuiabá River) part of the basin; differences in length–weight relationships were significantly different for Pseudoplatystoma corruscans, P. reticulatum (syn. P. fasciatum). First references on L50 and LWR are presented for two and eight fish species, respectively, as well as the new maximum total length for two species.  相似文献

The length–weight relationships (LWR) for three fish species collected in Sirwan River, located in Kurdistan and Kermanshah provinces, western Iran, were estimated. The values of the slope parameter (b) in the length–weight relationship equations were determined as 3.086 for Alburnus mossulensis, 3.382 for Alburnus filippii and 3.425 for Capoeta damascina, all significantly different from the expected = 3 value, indicating a positive allometric growth pattern for all the three species.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWR) were estimated for 31 teleost fish species caught in the Babadillimani Bight on the western entrance of Mersin Bay, Turkey. Sampling was carried out from May 1999 to April 2000 at monthly intervals using bottom trawl nets of 6 mm cod‐end mesh size. The b values varied from 2.662 for Echelus myrus to 3.395 for Gobius niger, with a mean of 3.024 (±0.166). This study presents the first estimation of LWR for seven species (Blennius ocellaris, Centracanthus cirrus, E. myrus, Engraulis encrasicolus, G. niger, Synodus saurus, and Zeus faber) distributed along the northeastern Mediterranean coastal area.  相似文献

Length–weight relationship (LWR) parameters were determined for three demersal fish species Nuchequula gerreoides, Scarus scaber and Therapon theraps. The fishes were collected by seine net (the mesh size of wing: 12.70 cm, body: 3.81 cm, cod end: 2.54 cm, and total length of net: 20 m) in eastern region of Java Sea Indonesia during October 2016 – March 2017. The total length of these species (14.3 cm for N. gerreoides, 24.5 cm for S. scaber and 21.5 cm for T. theraps) were longer than previous studies. The b values of the LWR were 2.967 for N. gerreoides, 3.046 for S. scaber and 3.0475 for T. theraps.  相似文献

The present study describes length‐weight relationships (LWRs) of three species of the family Rivulidae, Austrolebias nigrofasciatus, Austrolebias wolterstorffi and Cynopoecilus melanotaenia, captured in temporary freshwater wetlands of southern Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil from May to December 2011. The growth pattern for both species was predicted using a linear regression of LWR. Estimates of parameter b ranged from 2.81 in male C. melanotaenia to 3.34 for females A. nigrofasciatus. The present observations are significant for conservation and management because these species are threatened and their habitats are under pressure.  相似文献

The morphometric relationships of three native and one exotic freshwater fish species from the Lower San Juan and Lower Pisco River basins, central Coast of Peru, are presented. Specimens were collected in May and November 2010 using seine nets and electrofishing. Length‐Weight (LWR) relationships for Andinoacara stalsbergi, Trichomycterus punctulatus, Basilichthys archaeus and Poecilia reticulata are provided for the first time, contributing information towards the effort to conserve freshwater fishes.  相似文献

Length–weight (LWR) and length–length (LLR) relationships was estimated for three fish species collected in Chahnimeh reservoirs located in the city of Zabol, Iran. The values of the parameter slope (b) in the length–weight relationship were determined 2.45 for Crossocheilus latius, 2.97 for Schizocypris altidorsalis and 3.14 for Schizothorax zarudnyi. Parameters of the length‐weight relationship (LWR) were estimated for seven fish species from Amazonian Equatorial coast of Maranhão, Brazil. Samplings were carried out in three sample points of the lower stretch of the Itapecuru River (2°57'6.2"S and 44°14'26.5"W; 3°0'33.0"S and 44°15'54.7"W; 3°3'42.9"S and 44°15'1"W). The specimens were caught quarterly from June 2012 to August 2014 using monofilament gillnets (10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80 mm between knots) from 10 m to 30 m long and 4 m to 6 m high. This study provides the LWR parameters for Schizodon dissimilis, Curimata macrops, Prochilodus lacustris, Geophagus surinamensis, Hassar affinis, Platydoras brachylecis and Hypostomus plecostomus.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWR) were estimated for six reef species in Chuuk lagoon (Federated States of Micronesia) captured by commercial fishers. Specimens were sampled opportunistically over a period of 2 months between July and September 2014. Relationships include those for four common species not currently reported in FishBase (Caesio teres, Myripristis adusta, Lethrinus erythracanthus, and Chlorurus frontalis), and for two species with relationships based on just one or two samples (Scarus oviceps, and Plectropomus oligacanthus). While estimates for some species are tentative given limited size‐range sampling, they still present an improvement in the currently available LWRs.  相似文献
