This study reports weight–length and length–length relationships for selected coastal reef fish species of the Cape Verde Archipelago (tropical north‐eastern Atlantic). Specimens were caught with different types of gear (long‐lines, hand‐lines, purse‐seines and traps) during commercial fishing activities and sampled during fish market operations. A total of 8328 individuals were sampled, representing 29 species from 14 Families. This study provides the first references on weight–length and length–length relationships for five and 23 fish species worldwide, for 10 and 24 species for the Eastern Atlantic and for 12 and 26 species for Cape Verde Archipelago, respectively. Additionally, it provides revised weight–length relationships for 11 species from Cape Verde waters.  相似文献

This paper provides the length‐weight and length–length relationships for five fish species in the Zigui section of the lower Three Gorges Reservoir of the Yangtze River. Specimens were collected from December 2014 to January 2017, using various types of fishing gear and electroshock fishing techniques. Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) for one fish species and Length–length relationships (LLRs) for five fish species are unknown to FishBase. New maximum total lengths for four species were also recorded for FishBase. Moreover, standard‐length to total‐length equations for converting size measurements for these five species are presented.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWR) were estimated for 37 fish species belonging to ten families from the middle and lower stream of the Hongshui River, one of the main tributaries to the Pearl River, Southwest China. Length‐weight relationships for 26 species are unknown to FishBase and new maximum lengths are recorded for 20 species. These results are useful for fishery research, conservation and management in the Hongshui River.  相似文献

This paper provides length‐weight relationships for nine fish species from the Laohegou River, a tributary of the upper Yangtze River. Length‐weight relationships for six of these species are recorded for the first time. New maximum lengths for two species are also reported.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships were estimated for 9 nemacheilian loaches of Iran. Four of these species are endemic to Iran and the L‐W parameters of six species are given for the first time. Significant length‐weight relationships with high correlation coefficient were found for all species. The value of parameter b ranged from 2.81 to 3.12.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWR) are described for eleven indigenous fishes from the upper Jinsha River, which is the upper stretch of the Yangtze River, China. This is the first record of length‐weight relationships for ten of these species in FishBase and new maximum lengths are recorded for seven species.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships were determined for 15 fish species from the tributary Atlantic rain forest steams that drain into Sepetiba Bay, southeastern Brazil. This is the first record of length‐weight relationships for 12 of these species and new maximum lengths for four species. These results will be useful for management and conservation of this area of the Atlantic rain forest drainages.  相似文献

Length–weight and length–length relationships are reported for 32 fish species belonging to seven families and 26 genera from the Tian‐e‐zhou Oxbow in the middle reach of Yangtze River, near Shishou City, China. The weight (W) ‐ length (L) relationships were estimated using the logarithmic form of the equation W = aLb. The exponent b varied from 2.60 to 3.65 (mean ± SE: 3.12 ± 0.25). The 14 weight–length relationships, 13 length–length relationships, and seven maximum lengths are presented to FishBase for the first time.  相似文献

Length‐weight and length‐length relationships were estimated for four native fish species from the Yalong River and its tributaries, China. A total of 976 specimens were collected monthly using trap nets and electric fishing in May 2013 and July 2015 to February 2016. This study presents the first references on LWRs (length–weight relationships) and LLRs (length–length relationships) for three species (Gymnocypris firmispinatus, Paracobitis variegatus and Euchiloglanis kishinouyei). Moreover, maturation length, absolute fecundity and predominant food items for the four species were also described in the study.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships are presented for five fish species from Chi‐gu in southern Taiwan. At present, two of these species have no estimates in FishBase.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for five Clupeiformes species representing three families collected from the Persian Gulf and Oman Sea. These are the first references on length‐weight relationships for two of these species (Ilisha megaloptera and Sardinella sindensis). A new maximum length record was obtained for one species (Ilisha melastoma).  相似文献

This paper provides the length–weight relationships for six fish species collected from the Anning River, one of the biggest tributaries of the Yalong River in China. A total of 1096 specimens belonging to six fish species were analyzed. Among them, the length–weight relationships for 4 fish species are first‐time reports for FishBase and new maximum lengths of one fish species is also reported.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships were described for five fish species belonging to three families and four genera from the Daninghe River, one of primary tributaries of the upper Yangtze River, China. A total of 1894 specimens were collected from 2014 to 2016 by using electro‐fishing equipment. Length–weight relationships for five species were recorded previously in FishBase and new maximum total lengths for five species were also presented in this paper. The results will be useful for fishery research, management and conservation in the upper Yangtze River Basin.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWR) for 36 deep‐sea fish species belonging to 22 families are provided. Samples were collected during 2009 by trawling with the sampling design stratified by depths ranging from 200 to 550 m in the Colombian Caribbean Sea. To the best knowledge of the authors, this study represents the first study on length–weight relationships for 17 species worldwide, as well as 13 new maximum lengths.  相似文献
