The features of the spatial organization of bioelectric potentials in the cases of successful and unsuccessful creative imagination (refusal or poor quality of the product) under conditions of informational oversaturation. Two groups of subjects were compared: professionals (23 healthy students of the Department of Graphic Arts) and non-professionals (34 persons whose specialties were not linked with systematic visual imagination). During the experiments, the subjects were asked to mentally create a visual image based on two simple graphic elements, a right angle and a diagonal; after recording the EEG, they had to draw the image on paper and give it a title. The total number of elements exceeded 7 ± 2; hence, information processing at the conscious level was impossible, which caused the necessity of involving the mechanisms of unconscious information processing. The quality of the created product was evaluated with regard to the degree of success of performing the task and the features of spatial EEG organization. The EEG was recorded from 24 scalp sites of a subject using a SIT-EEG portable telemetric device. In the case of the successful performance of the task by professionals, the parameters of spatial organization of bioelectric potentials, i.e., spatial synchronization (linear processes) and spatial disorder (non-linear process) were strengthened compared to the base-line level in the frontal temporal areas of the right hemisphere and parietal occipital areas of the left hemisphere. Conversely, in the nonprofessionals, these parameters increased in the frontal temporal areas of the left hemisphere and parietal occipital areas of the right hemisphere. In the case a task was not successfully performed by the professionals, the spatial disorder of bioelectric potentials increased in all the cortical areas; in the nonprofessionals, only weak changes were observed. In all situations, the groups differed also in the parameters of coherence (Coh), spectral power (Sp) of bioelectric potentials, and informational energy, which reflects the level of expenditure of the brain’s energy for information processing. The evidence obtained is interpreted in terms of electroencephalographic correlates of successful task performance by professionals and nonprofessionals, i.e., their creative imagination under the conditions of informational over-saturation.  相似文献

The psychophysiological parameters of the spatial synchronization of bioelectric potentials during the nonverbal divergent, nonverbal convergent, verbal divergent and verbal convergent thinking have been analyzed. The relationships between the performances of tests for these thinking styles were different. The strongest significant correlation has been found between the productivities of the verbal divergent and verbal convergent thinking styles; the weakest correlation, between those of the nonverbal divergent and nonverbal convergent thinking styles. The thinking styles differ from one another in the topography of spatial synchronization of bioelectric potentials. They are the most pronounced during the two nonverbal tasks and the least pronounced during the two verbal tasks. The thinking styles also differ from one another in the degree of the enhancement of the coherence between bioelectric potentials during tasks compared to the baseline (with the eyes open). Some human psychophysiological characteristics facilitating the performance of divergent (creative) tasks have a negative effect on the performance of convergent (noncreative) tasks. The data are discussed in terms of the differences in the level of general activation and involvement of different types of information processing (simultaneous and successive).  相似文献

The study of psychophysiological indices in children aged six to eight years under information loads of various complexity showed that anxious subjects were characterized by a high level of nonspecific activation at rest and a shift of the autonomic balance towards a relative domination of the tone of the sympathetic division of the autonomic nervous system (ANS). The information load in the “auto-rate” mode caused in children aged six to eight years an increase in the level of nonspecific activation and the activity of sympathetic regulation and an inhibition of parasympathetic regulation. An information load in the “maximum rate of work” mode caused a decrease in the quantitative and qualitative indices of mental activity in comparison with that under comfortable conditions and a subsequent increase in autonomic shifts and the level of situational anxiety. The decrease in the efficiency of intellectual work performed at a maximum rate against the background of a high level of nonspecific activation and an increase in situational anxiety in both groups apparently reflected an increase in the activity of the modulating cerebral system due to the domination of the nonproductive activation system related to defensive behavior. At the same time, in children with a high personal anxiety, autonomic manifestations of activation and situational anxiety in both modes of work were more distinct and the efficiency of work lower than in subjects with a low anxiety. This indicates that, in anxious children, due to the excess activation of the sympathetic division of the ANS, the information load has a higher physiological cost. Thus, children with a high level of personal anxiety under intense information loads are characterized by a larger increase in the activity of the sympathetic division of the ANS and the attenuation of the effect of the parasympathetic division; a considerable increase in situational anxiety; low efficiency of activity; and, hence, its high physiological cost.  相似文献

The psychophysiological characteristics of the subjects (emotional stability, autonomic lability, tension of autonomic regulation of cardiac activity, and EEG characteristics) were estimated. The efficiency of relaxation regulation training with the use of biofeedback (with the electrocutaneous impedance as a BF signal) was studied. Before and after BF training, an electrophysiological experiment was carried out, namely, a “relaxation test” without BF support. The test consisted of three situations: background, relaxation, and the state after coming out of relaxation. During the test, EEGs of different cortical areas (α bands) and autonomic indices were recorded. A short-term memory test was carried out with the purpose of controlling changes in the functional status. It has been shown that even a short training cycle of five sessions in most cases provided relaxation and improvement in self-regulation, accompanied by improvement of the mnestic activity. The effect of individual psychophysiological characteristics on the success of BF training has been established. A high autonomic lability, a high level of nonspecific cortex activity, as well as a dysfunction of the frontal-thalamic system, should be regarded as factors preventing effective self-regulation training.  相似文献

Correlation and coherence analyses of EEG recordings from 26 children aged five to seven years (12 boys and 14 girls) as compared to 33 adult subjects (18 women and 15 men) has been carried out to study the topical features of the spatial structure of EEG distant interactions. A higher level of EEG intrahemispheric interactions in the posttemporal and frontal areas of the left hemisphere has been found in men as compared to women in whom the prevalence of interhemispheric interactions due to the expressed EEG interactions in the bilaterally symmetric areas of both hemispheres has been found. A different type of sex-related differences in the systemic organization of interregional interactions of cortical potentials, as compared to adults, has been found in preschool children. In particular, a higher prevalence of EEG distant interactions has been found in those areas of the left hemisphere, the EEG interactions of which were higher in adult men. The data show that a distinct sexual dimorphism of interregional interactions of cortex potentials in adult subjects and children is formed due to the topology of the different EEG distant interactions differing in men and women. Investigations of the sex specificity of the spatiotemporal organization of brain bioelectric potentials in children can promote understanding of the sexual identity role in development of human brain systemic activity.  相似文献

Cross-correlation, coherent, and factor analyses of the EEG were used to detect disturbances of spatial organization of brain bioelectric activity, with certain specific features determined by concomitant anxiety and asthenia syndromes in 20 patients with various clinical forms of neurotic depression. In the group of patients with dominance of the depressive syndrome without marked symptoms of asthenia or anxiety, opposite changes in the anterior areas of the right and left hemispheres were found; the interregional relationships of the EEG of anterior areas of the right hemisphere were decreased as compared to the norm, while the normal level of systemic interaction of bioelectric potentials of the cortex of the left hemisphere was increased. In patients with the depressive syndrome combined with increased anxiety, as well as in patients with distinct asthenic symptoms, a considerable decrease in the level of interregional interactions of bioelectric potentials in frontal regions of the cortex of both hemispheres was detected. This was accompanied by an increase, as compared to the norm, of the level of distant relationships of the EEG in posterotemporal, parietal, and occipital regions. The data indicate that, in the case of neurotic depression, irrespective of concomitant anxiety and asthenia syndromes, there is transient inhibition of the functional activity of frontal regions along with an increased rigidity of systemic interactions of the posterior regions of the cortex of both hemispheres. This suggests that neurotic depression is accompanied by dysfunction of intercortical and cortical-subcortical integration, which causes a disturbance of the systemic organization of ordered interactions of the activity of the anterior and posterior regions of both hemispheres, with certain specific features in patients of each group.  相似文献

EEG correlates of two main effects of long-term hyperventilation (cyclic breathing similar to rebirthing), namely, psychotic manifestations and sensations in internal organs, are considered. Standard EEGs of 44 subjects were recorded and subsequently treated by multiparametric methods. It was shown that, in the case of psychotic phenomena (hallucinations, visual and auditory images, different scenes, virtual travels, out-of-body experiences, etc.), the changes in the spatial organization of bioelectric potentials as compared with the baseline have different patterns than in the case of sensations in internal organs. The changes are observed in the frontal regions of the cortex: a decrease in spatial synchronization (linear processes) during an increase in spatial disarray (nonlinear processes) of bioelectric potentials and the intensifying of high-frequency β activity. If sensations in internal organs appear, a decrease in the above parameters was observed in the right hemisphere and in posterior cortical areas. The data are discussed from the viewpoint of qualitative specificity of changes in functional states during an altered state of consciousness with manifestations of different psychovisceral phenomena.  相似文献

Evoked activity in response to light was recorded in students performing a verbal creative task. The changes in the amplitude of the N200 negative component of evoked potentials were analyzed. The amplitude of the N200 component was significantly increased in the frontal and anterior frontal areas of the left hemisphere, which indicated increased activity in the cortical structures involved in divergent thinking. The amplitude of the N200 component was increased in the temporo-parieto-occipital area of the right hemisphere, which indicated that the posterior associative region of the right hemisphere was also involved in the creative activity. The data obtained suggest that the frontal and temporo-parieto-occipital areas of the cerebral cortex actively participate in the performance of a creative test with distinct elements of complexity.  相似文献

The influence of scopolamine (1 mg/kg, i.p.) on the spatial organization of the neocortical electrical activity was studied in rats. A decrease in the spectral power and coherence of brain potentials in the range of the dominant theta-rhythm peak (6.00-7.25 Hz) and their increase in the adjacent low-frequency band were observed. Both indices were decreased in the wide beta band (19.00-30.00 Hz). The described changes took place over the whole areas of the right hemisphere and parieto-temporal region of the left hemisphere. The obtained results are discussed with respect to the role of the cholinergic brain system in the higher nervous activity.  相似文献

The goal of this study was to compare the effects of the verbal instruction (IN1) that stimulated originality and of monetary reward (IN2) on the efficiency of performing a verbal creative task. The EEG patterns were also compared on the basis of mapping the bioelectric potential power within the frequency range of 4 to 30 Hz. Right-handed students (10 men and 10 women) participated in the experiment. The originality of the solution improves if a monetary reward is expected. In contrast to IN1, the promise of a monetary reward caused a global increase in task-related synchronization of bioelectric potentials in the θ2 band. Hemispheric asymmetry of the power of the θ1, θ2, and α2 rhythm grows with higher values in the right hemisphere. These changes in response to IN2 were in the background EEG, which testifies that an overall increase in hemispheric asymmetry induces a preparatory state after the promise of monetary reward. Specific changes in regional brain activity were at the β2-rhythm frequency. In all posterior derivation, except for the frontotemporal ones, the power of the β2 rhythm decreased in response to IN2 in contrast to IN1. The rewardinduced changes in EEG were characteristic of men to a greater extent. An increase in the θ2-rhythm asymmetry and the power of the α rhythm was observed only in men in response to a monetary reward. Our results suggest that the promise of monetary reward is favorable for creative thinking and original solutions. Gender differences of changes in the power of bioelectric potentials suggest that the neurophysiological mechanisms of creativity are different in men and women.  相似文献

Electroencephalographic (EEG) spectra have been analyzed under baseline conditions and during olfactory stimulation in substance-dependent and healthy subjects. The intergroup differences in the EEG spectra resulting from an increase in the power of cortical bioelectric potentials in patients with disorders due to psychoactive substance use were recorded in the parietal and temporal EEG leads. Interhemispheric differences have been found in the contribution of different frequencies to the spectral characteristics of the EEG. In patients with addictive disorders, in the temporal area of the left hemisphere, in the high-frequency range, a significant increase in the power of bioelectric potentials was recorded under baseline conditions and during olfactory stimulation. An increased power of α activity was typical of the temporal area of the right hemisphere in patients with disorders due to psychoactive substance use compared to the healthy subjects. The neurophysiological patterns found may be related to the psychological and behavioral features of addictive disorders.  相似文献

Adolescence is characterized by an intense formation of interregional interaction of cortical areas. In this period, the activity of deep brain structures is significantly reorganizing and cortical-subcortical interaction is augmenting. Our objective was to assess the pattern of changes in the spatial structure of brain bioelectric potentials with age and characteristics of these structures in adolescents. For this purpose, studies of EEG were conducted in 230 subjects of both sexes aged 4 to 35 years. We quantified the interconsistent changes in correlations of oscillations of bioelectric potentials in 20-lead EEG, using the integrated index VOL. Age-related changes in the consistency of EEG correlations were analyzed both in the background state and during verbal activity (comprehension of texts in Russian and in English). Cognitive tasks were performed by subjects older than 8 years. It was discovered that spatial synchronization of EEG processes both in the background state and during cognitive tasks increased with age, but, after 20 years, the rate of changes decreases significantly. In adolescence (12–17 years), sex differences appear in the correlation of EEG processes between the left and right hemispheres in subjects performing verbal tasks. We observed saltatory changes in VOL indices in 12- to 14-year-old boys, whereas in girls of the same age, reorganization of systemic brain activity goes more gradually 1.5–2 years in advance.  相似文献

Correlation and coherence analyses of multichannel electroencephalogram (EEG) recordings from 18 subjects (mean age 25 years) were used for investigating the reorganization of systemic interactions between bioelectric potentials of the cortical areas of both hemispheres (20 EEG derivations) during verbal-mental activity connected with generating verbal units from simpler components. When generating either words from aurally presented phonemes or sentences from a set of words, the subjects exhibited specific changes in the spatial structure of the statistical relationships in the EEG, with a significant increase in the interhemispheric interactions. During performance of both tasks, the changes in the interhemispheric interactions were most pronounced in the temporal, temporo-parieto-occipital (TPO), inferofrontal, and occipital areas of both hemispheres. Phonemic synthesis was associated with a more marked increase in the contralateral interactions in the left hemisphere, and generating sentences from words, in the right hemisphere. The coherence analysis of the EEG showed the greatest changes in the Δ, ?, and β frequency bands, with rather slight changes in the α frequency band. For all frequency bands, changes in the EEG coherences were the greatest in Wernicke’s and the TPO areas of the right and left hemispheres during the performance of both tasks, especially during the phonemic synthesis. These findings suggest that neurophysiological processes underlying mental generation of words and sentences require coordinated activity of the left and right hemispheres, which is accompanied by an increase in the interhemispheric interactions in the EEG, especially in the temporal, inferofrontal, and TPO areas.  相似文献

Mapping of the power and coherence of α2 bioelectric potentials was used to detect a common effect of rhythm desynchronization in two types of convergent verbal thinking (generation of any words beginning with the given letter or simple associations) with more pronounced left-hemispheric activation predominantly in the temporo-parieto-occipital cortical area. In addition, there were specific functional changes in α2 bioelectric potentials depending on the subjects’ sex and verbal creativity level, which was estimated by the capacity for divergent thinking (finding associations for triads of semantically remote words). The dynamics of the regional activation of the cortex depending on the verbal operation type was more characteristic of men compared to women and of creative persons compared to noncreative ones. In creative persons of both sexes, more original associations were accompanied by a decreased α2-rhythm coherence. In noncreative women, interhemispheric interaction was, conversely, increased.  相似文献

The fertilization and embryo development in crosses of hexaploid wheat “Kangxuan 9” X maize “SS 7700” were studied. Of 180 florets fi,ced after pollination 34(18.9%) had embryo and endosperm, 46(25.6%) had only embryo and 12(6.7%) had only endosperm. Percentages of single or double fertilization were higher than that in control (“Chinese Spring” X maize). The hybrid embryos and endosperms obtained were karyotypically unstable and characterized by rapid elimination of the maize chromosomes to produce haploid wheat embryos. The potentials for wheat haploid production and transfer of DNA segments, including transposable elements, from maize to wheat is discussed.  相似文献

In rats with pain syndrome after sciatic nerve section the authors studied spontaneous and evoked bioelectric activity in sensomotor cerebral cortex of both hemispheres. Electrocorticogram showed the presence of hyper-synchronic discharges and paroxysmal peak-wave (700-800 mV) activity in contralateral hemisphere. While stimulating the injured limb the threshold of evoked potentials (EP) was observed to decrease, its amplitude to increase and focus maximum EP activity to extend.  相似文献

Sex differences in electroencephalographic (EEG) correlates of creativity were studied using verbal and figural divergent tasks to be performed in accordance with the instructions to “give any solution” or “give an original solution.” The common effect was a greater activity of the right hemisphere, which did not depend on the sex, task type, or instructions for performance of the tasks. The α2 and β2 rhythms were the main EEG frequency correlates of creative thinking; the degree and sign of their reactivity depended on the aforementioned factors. Although the creative abilities in men and women were similar under test conditions, the EEG correlates of both figural and verbal tasks were sex-dependent. A high reactivity of the α2 rhythm was more marked during verbal creative thinking in women; and that of the β2 rhythm, during figural creative thinking in men. The instruction-related improvement of the critical selection of solutions was to a greater extent reflected by changes in the cortical activity, more pronounced in the frontal cortex in the women. Thus, the same creative productivity in men and women was mediated by different strategies of performance of both figural and verbal tasks, and the sex-related differences in these strategies remained even when the motivation for creativity was changed.  相似文献

The published data and the results of studies of the Department of Human Neurophysiology, revealing the place and importance of ultraslow information-control systems in the study of mechanisms for the integration of interorgan and intersystemic interactions, with the leading role of CNS and the autonomic nervous system, are summarized. The existing notions of the universality and commensurability of amplitude-time parameters, ultraslow bioelectric potentials (USBPs) recorded in the brain and the brain-controlled systems and organs have been considered. Experimental justifications for including one of the USBP types, a stable potential in the millivolt range in the vertex-tenar derivation (the omegametry method) in the psychophysiological approach are provided. This approach consists of choosing complementary integral psychological and physiological parameters permitting the study of the contingency of the mechanisms that control the functional state (wakefulness level) with specific features of the organization of higher mental functions and adaptive behavior, as well as in differentiating diagnostic markers: (a) the balance level and disintegration of intersystemic interaction in the body; and (b) disturbances of compensatory-adaptive possibilities and the adaptation reserve of the body. The prospects of using this approach in theoretical and applied studies on developmental psychophysiology, child psychoneurology, and functional neurology of chronic diseases of the nervous system have been considered.  相似文献

The effect of daily verapamil administration (5 mg/kg) on pain sensitivity, bioelectric activity of cerebral cortex and microcirculation was studied in rats with cut sciatic nerve. Verapamil untreated rats showed hyperalgesia, autotomies and hypersynchronic discharges in contralateral hemisphere, increased range of evoked potentials and disorders in microcirculatory system which evidence developing pain syndrome. Early introduction of verapamil after the nerve cut prevented the emergence of pain syndrome.  相似文献

In 30- to 45-year-old healthy men (workers of the coal mines), we studied using correlation analysis the interrelations between the manifestations of autonomic regulation of the heart rhythm related to the active orthostatic test (AOT) and the state of systemic circulation in the physical loading test (PhLT). It has been concluded that the pattern of correlations is determined by the direction of autonomic regulatory drives within a transitional period of the AOT. In the group of tested persons with clear domination of ergotropic reactions, the variation range and power of a slow wave component of the heart rhythm in the standing posture strictly correlated with the cardial stroke, peripheral resistance, vascular tone, myocardial tension, and aerobic productivity. In persons with relatively balanced ergotropic and trophotropic effects, the AOT transitional period was characterized by correlations of nearly all indices of autonomic regulation of the heart rhythm with the indices of central hemodynamics of the PhLT.  相似文献
