Spray-dried milk enriched with n-3 fatty acids from linseed oil or fish oil were fed to rats to study its influence on liver lipid peroxides, hepatic antioxidant enzyme activities, serum prostaglandins and platelet aggregation. Significant level of α linolenic acid, eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid were accumulated at the expense of arachidonic acid in the liver of rats fed n-3 fatty acid enriched formulation. The linseed oil and fish oil enriched formulation fed group had 44 and 112% higher level of lipid peroxides in liver homogenate compared to control rats fed groundnut oil enriched formulation. Catalase activity in liver homogenate was increased by 37 and 183% respectively in linseed oil and fish oil formulation fed rats. The glutathione peroxidase activity decreased to an extent of 25–36% and glutathione transferase activity increased to an extent of 34–39% in rats fed n-3 fatty acids enriched formulation. Feeding n-3 fatty acid enriched formulation significantly elevated the n-3 fatty acids in platelets and increased the lipid peroxide level to an extent of 4.2–4.5 fold compared to control. The serum thromboxane B2 level was decreased by 35 and 42% respectively in linseed oil and fish oil enriched formulation fed rats, whereas, 6-keto- prostaglandin F1α level was decreased by 17 and 23% respectively in linseed oil and fish oil enriched formulation fed rats. The extent and rate of platelet aggregation was decreased significantly in n-3 fatty acids enriched formulation fed rats. This indicated that n-3 fatty acids enriched formulation beneficially reduces platelet aggregation and also enhances the activities of hepatic antioxidant enzymes such as catalase and glutathione transferase. 目的:比较Centerpiece微型钛板固定与传统丝线悬吊在颈椎后路单开门椎管扩大成形术中的应用效果。方法:选取于2015年2月~2017年9月期间北京大学第一医院收治的拟行颈椎后路单开门椎管扩大成形术的脊髓型颈椎病患者169例,根据治疗方式的不同将患者分为悬吊组(n=87,给予传统丝线悬吊治疗)和钛板组(n=82,给予Centerpiece微型钛板固定治疗),比较两组手术时间、术中出血量、术后颈椎疼痛时间、术后再关门发生率、轴性症状评分、日本骨科协会量表(JOA)评分、颈椎活动度、颈椎管矢状径、颈椎管横截面积、颈椎曲度、开门角度。结果:两组患者手术时间、术中出血量比较差异无统计学意义(P0.05),钛板组术后颈椎疼痛时间明显短于悬吊组,术后再关门发生率低于悬吊组(P0.05)。两组患者术后2个月、末次随访JOA评分均高于术前,且钛板组高于悬吊组(P0.05),两组患者末次随访轴性症状评分高于术后2个月,且钛板组术后2个月、末次随访轴性症状评分均高于悬吊组(P0.05)。与悬吊组相比,钛板组术后2个月、末次随访颈椎活动度、颈椎管矢状径升高(P0.05);而钛板组术后2个月颈椎管横截面积小于悬吊组,末次随访颈椎管横截面积大于悬吊组(P0.05)。悬吊组末次随访颈椎曲度小于术前、术后2个月(P0.05),钛板组手术前后颈椎曲度比较差异无统计学意义(P0.05);钛板组术后2个月、末次随访颈椎曲度、开门角度均大于悬吊组(P0.05)。结论:颈椎后路单开门椎管扩大成形术中应用Centerpiece微型钛板固定比传统丝线悬吊治疗的临床效果更好,可有效维持患者颈椎功能及活动度,并能改善神经功能。  相似文献

BackgroundThe antioxidant potential and antiproliferative activity of the extracts of Nigella sativa seeds (Black Cummins) and honey formulations are to be explored.MethodThe gas chromatography-mass spectrum (GC–MS) and Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) fingerprint of Black Cummins and Honey formulation revealed alkaloid, saponin, volatile oil, flavonoid, glycosides, sugar, and phenolic compound in the extract. GC–MS profiling of the cold extract of Nigella sativa seeds and honey formulation shows peaks for eleven fractions of compounds. Using TLC, the phenolic compounds of Nigella sativa seeds and honey formulations were separated.ResultsThe current study discovers the cytotoxic effect of black Cummins seeds and honey formulation on human ovarian cancer (PA-1) cell line as assessed by MTT assay. PA-1 cells were inhibited with the increasing concentration of Nigella sativa seeds extract and honey formulation.ConclusionThe study validates the importance of the tested extracts in the treatment of cancer.  相似文献

摘要 目的:观察肺力咳合剂联合雾化吸入布地奈德混悬液治疗急性支气管炎患儿的疗效及对血清急性时相蛋白和免疫球蛋白的影响。方法:选取2016年1月到2021年12月期间在西安医学院第二附属医院进行治疗的120例急性支气管炎患儿,按照随机数字表法分为对照组(接受雾化吸入布地奈德混悬液治疗,n=60)和研究组(肺力咳合剂联合雾化吸入布地奈德混悬液治疗,n=60),对比两组疗效、用药不良反应情况,观察两组患儿临床症状缓解时间,观察两组患儿血清急性时相蛋白和免疫球蛋白的变化情况。结果:研究组的临床总有效率相较于对照组,可进一步升高,组间对比差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。研究组的呼吸困难、咳嗽、肺部喘鸣、憋喘症状消失时间均短于对照组(P<0.05)。治疗后,两组触珠蛋白(HP)、C反应蛋白(CRP)、a1酸性糖蛋白(a1-AAG)和铜蓝蛋白(CER)水平均下降,且研究组低于对照组(P<0.05)。治疗后,两组免疫球蛋白A(IgA)、免疫球蛋白M(IgM)、免疫球蛋白G(IgG)均升高,且研究组较对照组高(P<0.05)。两组不良反应发生率对比无差异(P>0.05)。结论:肺力咳合剂联合雾化吸入布地奈德混悬液治疗急性支气管炎患儿,可有效改善体液免疫,降低患儿血清急性时相蛋白,疗效显著。  相似文献

The bioavailability of lutein solubilized in mixed micelles containing either phosphatidylcholine (PC) or lysophosphatidylcholine (lysoPC) was evaluated in male rats. Mixed micelles contained 2.5 mM monooleoylglycerol, 7.5 mM oleic acid, 12 mM sodium taurocholate and 200 μM lutein either with 3 mM PC or lysoPC. To study lutein bioavailability, single and repeated dose experiments were conducted. For single dose study, group of rats (n = 30/group) were fed single dose of lutein solubilized in lysoPC (LPC group), PC (PC group) and no phospholipids (NoPL group) in micellar form. Each group was further divided in to five sub-groups (n = 6/sub group) to measure lutein bioavailability over time up to 9 h. For repeated dose study, group of rats (n = 6/group) were fed daily for 10 days a dose of lutein in mixed micelles with NoPL, PC and LPC. A separate group (n = 6) not fed mixed micelles was considered as zero-time control. In both the experiments, mixed micelles (0.2 ml/rat) were fed to the rat by direct intubation to the stomach. Results of single dose studies showed that the mean lutein levels in the plasma and liver of the PC group was significantly lower (p < 0.05) than those of the other two groups. Moreover, the average lutein level in the plasma and liver was significantly (p < 0.05) different among the groups in the order LPC > NoPL > PC. But, repeated dose experiment followed the order LPC > PC > NoPL. The level of lutein excreted through urine and feces of PC group was significantly higher (p < 0.05) than those of the other two groups. Thus, the results indicate that the PC in the mixed micelles suppressed the intestinal uptake of lutein after single dose but not after repeated dose and that lysoPC enhanced the absorption. In both the experiments, plasma and liver level of lutein was higher in LPC compared with PC group. Results also suggest that the luminal hydrolysis of PC to lysoPC is necessary for intestinal uptake of lutein solubilized in mixed micelles.  相似文献

Epigallocatechin gallate, a major component of green tea polyphenols, protects against the oxidation of fat-soluble antioxidants including lutein. The current study determined the effect of a relatively high but a dietary achievable dose of lutein or lutein plus green tea extract on antioxidant status. Healthy subjects (50–70 years) were randomly assigned to one of two groups (n=20 in each group): (1) a lutein (12 mg/day) supplemented group or (2) a lutein (12 mg/day) plus green tea extract (200 mg/day) supplemented group. After 2 weeks of run-in period consuming less than two servings of lightly colored fruits and vegetables in their diet, each group was treated for 112 days while on their customary regular diets. Plasma carotenoids including lutein, tocopherols, flavanols and ascorbic acid were analyzed by HPLC-UVD and HPLC-electrochemical detector systems; total antioxidant capacity by fluorometry; lipid peroxidation by malondialdehyde using a HPLC system with a fluorescent detector and by total hydroxyoctadecadienoic acids using a GC/MS. Plasma lutein, total carotenoids and ascorbic acid concentrations of subjects in either the lutein group or the lutein plus green tea extract group were significantly increased (P<.05) at 4 weeks and throughout the 16-week study period. However, no significant changes from baseline in any biomarker of overall antioxidant activity or lipid peroxidation of the subjects were seen in either group. Our results indicate that an increase of antioxidant concentrations within a range that could readily be achieved in a healthful diet does not affect in vivo antioxidant status in normal healthy subjects when sufficient amounts of antioxidants already exist.  相似文献

摘要 目的:观察布地奈德混悬液雾化吸入、三拗片联合治疗对急性支气管炎患儿T淋巴细胞亚群、炎症细胞因子的影响。方法:选取2021年1月到2023年1月期间合肥市第二人民医院收治的急性支气管炎患儿78例,按照双色球法将患儿分为对照组和研究组,各为39例。对照组患儿接受布地奈德混悬液雾化吸入,研究组患儿接受三拗片联合布地奈德混悬液雾化吸入。对比两组疗效、炎症因子水平、临床指标、T淋巴细胞亚群和用药安全性。结果:研究组的临床总有效率高于对照组(P<0.05)。研究组的喘息缓解时间、咳嗽缓解时间、体温正常缓解时间、肺部啰音缓解时间短于对照组(P<0.05)。治疗7 d后,两组降钙素原(PCT)、白细胞介素-8(IL-8)、白细胞介素-6(IL-6)下降,且研究组低于对照组(P<0.05)。治疗7 d后,两组CD8+下降,且研究组低于对照组(P<0.05);两组CD4+、CD4+/CD8+升高,且研究组高于对照组(P<0.05)。两组患儿不良反应对比未见统计学差异(P>0.05)。结论:急性支气管炎患儿采用布地奈德混悬液雾化吸入联合三拗片治疗,有助于缩短临床症状缓解时间,减轻炎症细胞因子水平,调节T淋巴细胞亚群。  相似文献

摘要 目的:观察悬吊训练疗法联合生物反馈电刺激对产后压力性尿失禁(PSUI)患者盆底功能和尿流动力学的影响。方法:选择2019年7月~2021年8月期间我院接收的PSUI患者96例,符合要求的患者根据信封抽签法分为对照组(48例)和研究组(48例)。对照组患者接受悬吊训练疗法,研究组患者接受悬吊训练疗法联合生物反馈电刺激,对比两组疗效、盆底功能指标和尿流动力学指标,观察两组尿垫试验漏尿量、国际尿失禁咨询委员会尿失禁问卷简表(ICI-Q-SF)问卷评分。结果:研究组的临床总有效率高于对照组(P<0.05)。治疗1个月后,两组24 h尿垫试验漏尿量和ICI-Q-SF问卷评分降低,且研究组低于对照组(P<0.05)。研究组治疗1个月后盆底肌力改善效果优于对照组(P<0.05)。两组治疗1个月后最大尿道闭合压力(MUCP)、功能尿道长度(LES)、腹压漏尿点压(ALPP)、与最大尿流率(Qmax)升高,且研究组高于对照组(P<0.05)。结论:PSUI患者经悬吊训练疗法联合生物反馈电刺激干预,可有效改善临床症状,促进盆底功能和尿流动力学恢复,效果显著。  相似文献

Lutein is widely used as diet supplement for prevention of age-related macular degeneration. However, the application and efficacy of lutein in food and nutritional products has been hampered due to its poor solubility and low oral bioavailability. This study aimed to develop and evaluate the formulation of oral fast-dissolving film (OFDF) containing lutein nanocrystals for enhanced bioavailability and compliance. Lutein nanocrystals were prepared by anti-solvent precipitation method and then encapsulated into the films by solvent casting method. The formulation of OFDF was optimized by Box-Behnken Design (BBD) as follows: HPMC 2.05% (w/v), PEG 400 1.03% (w/v), Cremophor EL 0.43% (w/v). The obtained films exhibited uniform thickness of 35.64 ± 1.64 μm and drug content of 0.230 ± 0.003 mg/cm2 and disintegrated rapidly in 29 ± 8 s. The nanocrystal-loaded films with reconstituted particle size of 377.9 nm showed better folding endurance and faster release rate in vitro than the conventional OFDFs with raw lutein. The microscope images, thermograms, and diffractograms indicated that lutein nanocrystals were highly dispersed into the films. After administrated to SD rats, t max was decreased from 3 h for oral solution formulation to less than 0.8 h for OFDF formulations, and C max increased from 150 ng/mL for solution to 350 ng/mL for conventional OFDF or 830 ng/mL for nanocrystal OFDF. The AUC 0-24h of conventional or nanocrystal OFDF was 1.37 or 2.08-fold higher than that of the oral solution, respectively. These results suggested that drug nanocrystal-loaded OFDF can be applied as a promising approach for enhanced bioavailability of poor soluble drugs like lutein.  相似文献

Lagenidium giganteum is an effective biological control agent for mosquitoes with limited use due to poor survival and contamination during storage. Invert (water-in-oil) emulsions using crop oils were investigated for formulating L. giganteum mycelium for improved shelf life and delivery. Cells formulated in a water-in-oil (W/O) emulsion were just as effective against larvae as those formulated in aqueous suspension. Cells formulated in the W/O emulsion and cell suspension settled during storage and formed clumps, which significantly reduced the efficacy of formulations. Hydrophobic silica nanoparticles were added to the W/O emulsion formulation for oil thickening. The addition of silica significantly reduced cell sedimentation and improved storage; thickened W/O emulsions with an initial cell density of 3900 CFU/mg applied at 0.5 mg/cm2 were greater than 95% effective at infecting mosquitoes after 12 weeks of storage at room temperature. Cell density reduction during storage was represented using first-order kinetics. Surface treatment of silica nanoparticles and oil refinement both had a significant effect on the first-order rate constant; as the hydrophobicity of the silica increased and level of oil refinement decreased, the rate constant increased. The percentage of water in the W/O emulsion and type of refined crop oil had no significant effect on the first-order rate constant. Cells formulated in the thickened W/O emulsion were less likely to settle when applied to water compared to cells in aqueous suspension, suggesting better cell distribution in an aqueous environment could be achieved when cells are applied in a W/O emulsion.  相似文献

目的:探索孟鲁司特钠联合布地奈德混悬液对哮喘急性发作患儿血清嗜酸性粒细胞(EOS)、嗜酸性粒细胞阳离子蛋白(ECP)水平和肺功能的影响。方法:选择自2015年10月至2016年10月我院收治的200例支气管哮喘急性发作患儿,按照随机数表法分成观察组和对照组各100例。对照组患儿口服孟鲁司特钠,观察组患儿在对照组基础上给予布地奈德气雾剂进行雾化治疗,两组均治疗1周。统计分析两组患儿的临床有效率,肺功能指标,包括第1秒用力呼气容积(FEV1)、用力肺活量(FVC)及FEV1/FVC,对比治疗前后两组患儿血清中EOS、ECP水平的变化。结果:治疗后,观察组的总有效率为97.00%,显著高于对照组的81.00%(P0.05);经治疗后两组患儿肺功能指标均较治疗前明显改善,且观察组患儿优于对照组(P0.05);两组患儿治疗后EOS、ECP水平均低于治疗前,而观察组患儿低于对照组,差异均有统计学意义(P0.05)。结论:孟鲁司特钠联合布地奈德对于小儿哮喘的急性发作具有良好的临床疗效,能显著改善患儿肺功能和血清中炎症因子的水平,减轻患儿体内的炎症反应,值得在临床上推广应用。  相似文献

In African cacao-producing countries, control of cacao black pod disease caused by Phytophthora megakarya is a priority. Introducing biological control agents as part of a P. megakarya control strategy is highly desirable, especially in a perspective of pesticide reduction. Trichoderma species are among the most used biological control agents. In Cameroon, Trichoderma asperellum formulated in wettable powder has produced positive effects against this disease. However, with this type of formulation, shelf-life and persistence of conidia on pods are limited. Our study therefore sought to develop a new T. asperellum formulation that would be more effective and better suited to the conditions of field application by small-scale producers in Cameroon. We selected a soybean oil-based oil dispersion, in which the half-life of the conidia reached 22.5 weeks, versus 5 weeks in aqueous suspension. Tested on detached pods, the formulation completely inhibited the development of the disease. When sprayed in the field on cacao clones highly sensitive to P. megakarya, the formulation resulted in 90% protection of treated pods after 1 week, and 50% after 3.2 weeks. The formulations exercised a measurable effect for up to 7 weeks, versus 2 weeks in the case of an aqueous conidial suspension and 5 weeks for that of a conventional fungicide (Kocide). Trichoderma asperellum formulated in oil dispersion has therefore great potential for the control of cacao black pod disease with less recourse to synthetic fungicides. Moreover, this formulation is well adapted to the types of sprayers used by small-scale cacao producers in Cameroon.  相似文献

【背景】识别出具有驱油功能的内源性微生物群是当前设计高效微生物采油技术的迫切需求。【目的】通过宏基因组分析找出原位油藏微生物中具有产酸/产气功能的潜在核心微生物群。【方法】利用室内模拟体系,对原位油藏微生物进行有机营养(从有氧到无氧)的激活,运用生物信息、多元统计分析以及网络分析等方法,寻找潜在内源性核心功能微生物群。【结果】有机营养激活了原位油藏样本中以Bacillus licheniformis为核心的产酸菌群(包括Coprothermobacter proteolyticus、Marinobacterspp.、Anaerobaculumhydrogeniformans和Petrotogamobilis),该菌群具有以丙酮酸/乙酰辅酶A为原料发酵乳酸、乙酸以及甲酸的功能;激活了以Enterococcus faecium为核心的产气菌群(包括Shinella zoogloeoides、Paracoccus denitrificans、Paracoccus spp.和Enterobacter cloacae),该菌群具备以(亚)硝酸盐、(亚)硫酸盐、石油烃为原料生产含氮/硫/碳等气体的能力。2个核心菌群内部分菌同时具有产酸和产气通路基因,激活过程中2个菌群的丰度变化呈负相关关系。【结论】利用有机营养激活体系及宏基因组测序分析技术,筛选出了油藏样本中具备产酸、产气能力的核心功能菌群,为后续进一步的功能菌株研究提供了潜在靶标及功能指向。  相似文献

Lutein and zeaxanthin are major carotenoids in the eye but are also found in post-receptoral visual pathways. It has been hypothesized that these pigments influence the processing of visual signals within and post-retina, and that increasing lutein and zeaxanthin levels within the visual system will lead to increased visual processing speeds. To test this, we measured macular pigment density (as a biomarker of lutein and zeaxanthin levels in brain), critical flicker fusion (CFF) thresholds, and visual motor reaction time in young healthy subjects (n = 92). Changes in these outcome variables were also assessed after four months of supplementation with either placebo (n = 10), zeaxanthin only (20 mg/day; n = 29) or a mixed formulation containing 26 mg/day zeaxanthin, 8 mg/day lutein, and 190 mg/day mixed omega-3 fatty acids (n = 25). Significant correlations were found between retinal lutein and zeaxanthin (macular pigment) and CFF thresholds (p<0.01) and visual motor performance (overall p<0.01). Supplementation with zeaxanthin and the mixed formulation (considered together) produced significant (p<0.01) increases in CFF thresholds (∼12%) and visual motor reaction time (∼10%) compared to placebo. In general, increasing macular pigment density through supplementation (average increase of about 0.09 log units) resulted in significant improvements in visual processing speed, even when testing young, healthy individuals who tend to be at peak efficiency.  相似文献

IntroductionAlthough omega (n)-3 long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCPUFA), particularly docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), intakes are important during infancy, the optimal method of increasing infant status remains unclear. We hypothesized that high-dose infant fish oil supplementation would have greater relative effects upon n-3 LCPUFA status at six months of age than breast milk fatty acids.Patients and methodsInfants (n=420) were supplemented daily from birth to six months with fish oil or placebo. In a subset of infants, LCPUFA levels were measured in cord blood, breast milk and in infant blood at 6 months.ResultsDHA levels increased in the fish oil group relative to placebo (p<05). Breast milk DHA was the strongest predictor of infant erythrocyte DHA levels (p=<001). This remained significant after adjustment for cord blood DHA, supplementation group and adherence.ConclusionIn this cohort, breast milk DHA was a greater determinant of infant erythrocyte n?3 LCPUFA status, than direct supplementation with fish oil.  相似文献

Long-term persistence of entomopathogenic fungi as biopesticides is a major requirement for successful industrialization. Corn oil carrier was superior in maintaining germination rates of Isaria fumosorosea SFP-198 conidia during exposure to 50°C for 2 h, when compared with other oils, such as soybean oil, cottonseed oil, paraffin oil, and methyl oleate. The corn oil-based conidial suspension (91.6% germination) was also better in this regard than conidial powder (28.4% germination) after 50°C for 8 h. Long-term storage stabilities of corn oil-based conidial suspension and conidial powder at 4 and 25°C for 24 months were investigated, based on the correlation of germination rate with insecticidal activity against greenhouse whiteflies, Trialeurodes vaporariorum. Viability of conidia in corn oil was more than 98.4% for up to 9 months of storage at 25°C, and followed by 23% at 21 months. However, conidial powder had only 34% viability after 3 months of storage at 25°C, after which its viability rapidly decreased. The two conidial preparations stored at 4°C had better viabilities than those at 25°C, showing the same pattern as above. These results indicate that corn oil-based conidial suspension can be used to improve conidial persistence in long-term storage and be further applied to the formulation of other thermo-susceptible biological control agents.  相似文献

摘要 目的:探讨无创性皮肤屏障功能检测在朗格汉斯细胞组织细胞增生症(Langerhans cell histiocytosis,LCH)中的应用价值。方法:研究时间为2017年1月到2020年12月,选择在本院诊治的朗格汉斯细胞组织细胞增多症患者72例作为LCH组,同期选择健康体检者72例作为对照组。采用无创性皮肤屏障功能检测皮肤水分、经皮水分丢失(Transdermal water loss,TEWL)、油脂水平,同时检测所有入选者的免疫功能、皮肤菌群并进行相关性分析。结果:LCH组的皮肤水分低于对照组(P<0.05),TEWL、油脂水平高于对照组(P<0.05)。LCH组的乳酸杆菌(La)阳性率低于对照组(P<0.05),表皮葡萄球菌(Se)、痤疮丙酸杆菌(Pa)、金黄色葡萄球菌(Sa)阳性率高于对照组(P<0.05)。LCH组的CD163、ki-67表达阳性率分别为77.8 %、52.8 %,高于对照组的19.4 %和6.9 %(P<0.05)。在LCH组中,Pearson相关性分析显示皮肤水分与乳酸杆菌呈现正相关性(P<0.05),TEWL、油脂与表皮葡萄球菌、痤疮丙酸杆菌、金黄色葡萄球菌、CD163、ki-67呈现正相关性(P<0.05)。结论:无创性皮肤屏障功能检测在朗格汉斯细胞组织细胞增生症中的应用可反映患者的皮肤水分与油脂状况,也可间接反映患者的皮肤微生态与免疫功能状况。  相似文献

Seven Chlorella strains representing three species obtained from culture collections and research laboratories were screened for their potential of heterotrophic production of lutein on two different media (Basal and Kuhl) containing glucose. While both media supported good growth and lutein formation of the seven strains in darkness, higher biomass concentrations and lutein content were achieved on Basal medium. Chlorella protothecoides CS-41 was chosen from the seven strains for further investigation due to its higher productivities of both biomass and lutein. The maximal biomass concentration and lutein content of C. protothecoides cultivated heterotrophically with 9 g L-1 glucose in a 3.7-L fermentor were respectively 4.6 g dry cells L-1 and 4.60 mg lutein g-1 dry cells on Basal medium, and 4.0 g dry cells L-1 and 4.36 mg lutein g-1 dry cells on Kuhl medium. The heterotrophic cultivation process was scaled up successfully to 30 L using a fermentor, in which the Basal medium containing 36 g L-1 glucose was used; the maximal biomass concentration of 16.4 g dry cells L-1, specific growth rate of 0.92 d-1,lutein content of 4.85 mg lutein g-1 dry cells,growth yield of 0.47 g dry cells g-1 glucose and lutein yield of 1.93 mg lutein g-1 glucose were respectively achieved. Abstract

The aim of the present study was to formulate six different plant seed oils namely canola, cotton, flax, olive, sesame and soybean as emulsifiable concentrates. The composition of the formulation comprises at least one organic solvent, one surfactant and one plant oil. Physico-chemical properties of the formulated oils (emulsion stability test, cold stability and heat stability tests) were measured. The successfully emulsified oils were evaluated for nematicidal activity against Meloidogyne incognita infecting tomato plants under greenhouse conditions. Emulsified canola oil proved to be the most effective oil as a protectant against M. incognita infection to tomatoes followed by soybean, cotton, flax and sesame oil. In addition, employing a high rate of the tested emulsified oils gave higher activity in suppressing nematodes both in the soil and in tomato roots than using a low rate. Moreover, all tested formulated oils at both rates of application had no adverse effect on the growth of tomato plants except sesame oil which significantly decreased the shoot length when compared to the control. The prepared plant oils might be used as potential sources for sustainable eco-friendly botanical nematicides to protect plants from nematode attack.  相似文献
