We are reporting results directed to explain the relation between carbohydrates (CHO), protein metabolism, and the energetic balance of Litopenaeus vannamei juveniles. The interaction of dietary CHO and salinity was measured to try to understand the relation between osmotic control and metabolism, both from a biochemical and energetic point of view. Two experiments were done. In the first experiment, shrimp were fed with 0%, 5%, 33%, and 61% CHO and maintained at 15‰ and 40‰ salinity. Glucose, lactate protein, hemocyanin, ammonia concentration, and osmotic pressure were measured in blood. Digestive gland glycogen (DGG) was measured also. In the second experiment, shrimp were fed with 0% and 38% dietary CHO and maintained at 15‰ and 40‰ salinity. From that shrimp, absorbed energy (Abs) was calculated as: Abs=respiration (R)+ammonia excretion (U) and production (P); assimilated energy (As) was calculated as the product of R×P. Osmotic pressure, hemocyanin, protein, lactate, and blood ammonia increased with the reduction in dietary CHO. In contrast, an increase in blood glucose was observed with an increase in dietary CHO. Digestive gland glycogen (DGG) increased following a saturation curve with a DGG maximum at 33% dietary CHO. Blood metabolites of fasting and feeding shrimp showed the same behavior. Energy balance results showed that shrimp maintained in low salinity and fed without CHO waste more energy in U production than for shrimp maintained in high salinity and fed with high CHO levels. Notwithstanding, the production efficiency was higher in shrimp fed without CHO than that observed in shrimp fed with high CHO independent of salinity. A scheme trying to integrate the relation between CHO and protein metabolism and the way in which both are modulated by salinity is presented. From published and present results, there are two factors that apparently control the use of high dietary CHO levels; α-amylase enzyme-dietary CHO level capacity and glycogen saturation in DG. Production of glucose is limited in shrimp because of saturation of α-amylase when shrimp are fed with diets above 33% CHO. This is the first control point of starch metabolism. The digestive gland is saturated with glycogen in shrimp fed with dietary CHO levels >33%. This is apparently the second control point of CHO metabolism that limits growth rate in such conditions. The high metabolic cost related to high CHO diets could explain why shrimp are well adapted to use protein as a source of energy.  相似文献

The effect of feeding isocaloric test diets containing 35, 45 and 55% protein, with and without inclusion of the anabolic steroid hormone, ethylestrenol, was studied in rainbow trout, Salmo gairdneri , in relation to blood chemistry. The control (no hormone) and experimental diets (hormone-supplemented), were fed for a total of 60 days, after which time all groups of fish were fed an identical commercial diet with no hormone for a further 30 days (withdrawal period). After 60 days, the body weights offish fed the 35 and 45% experimental diets were significantly greater than their respective controls, and after hormone withdrawal, increased growth was still apparent in the 35% experimental group.
No significant changes in serum amino acid nitrogen (AAN), protein, or glucose in relation to the dietary protein level, or inclusion of steroid, were observed after 30 days. Serum creatinine, however, increased with an increase in dietary protein, and was significantly higher in the 35% experimental group than the respective control. After 60 days, the most significant observation was the marked increase in serum glucose with an increase in dietary protein, but respective control and experimental values were not significantly different at this time. Following a 30-day withdrawal period, serum AAN in the 55% experimental group was significantly higher than the control, whereas serum protein, creatinine, and glucose stabilized to similar concentrations in all groups. Over the 90-day period of feeding, in both control and experimental groups, serum AAN and protein tended to increase, serum creatinine and glucose to decrease, whilst haematocrit remained constant. It is concluded that addition of ethylestrenol to trout diets has apparently little effect on serum metabolite concentrations and haematocrit, the most significant variations being related more to diet composition and duration of study.  相似文献

An 8-week feeding trial was conducted to determine the dietary copper (Cu) requirement and its effect on the non-specific immune responses of juvenile grass shrimp, Penaeus monodon. Purified diets with seven levels (0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 80, 160 mg Cu kg diet(-1) of supplemental Cu were fed to P. monodon (mean initial weight 0.29 +/- 0.004 g). Each diet was fed to three replicate groups of shrimp. The rearing water contained 1.53 microg Cu 1(-1). Shrimp fed diets supplemented with 10 and 20 mg Cu kg diet(-1) had significantly (P < 0.01) greater weight gain, feed efficiency (FE) and protein efficiency ratio (PER) than those fed the unsupplemented control diet and diets supplemented with > or = 40 mg Cu kg diet(-1). Whole body Cu concentration in shrimp generally increased as dietary Cu supplementation increased. Total haemocyte count (THC) was higher in shrimp fed diets supplemented with 10-30 mg Cu kg diet(-1) than shrimp fed the unsupplemented control diet and diets supplemented with > or = 40 mg Cu kg diet(-1). Intracellular superoxide anion (O2-) production ratios were significantly higher in shrimp fed diets supplemented with 10-30 mg Cu kg diet(-1) than shrimp fed the diet supplemented with 160 mg Cu kg diet(-1). Analysis by polynomial regression of weight gain percent, FE and by linear regression of the whole-body Cu retention of shrimp indicated that the adequate dietary Cu concentration in growing P. monodon is about 15-21 mg Cu kg diet (-1). The immune indicators suggest that an adequate dietary Cu concentration for non-specific immune responses in P. monodon is about 10-30 mg Cu kg diet(-1).  相似文献

The effects of feeding a prepared surimi diet (fish-based) and a prepared pelleted diet (shrimpbased) on the survival, growth and feeding rate of the cuttlefish Sepia officinalis L. were evaluated during a 45-day experiment. One hundred and twenty juveniles of laboratory cultured cuttlefish (74.5 ± 12.36 g) were divided into three treatments and were fed thawed shrimp (control), pellets or surimi. Survival rates on these diets were 95.0%, 67.5% and 22.5%, respectively. Preliminary data indicated that the low survival of cuttlefish fed surimi may have been caused by low levels of copper in their blood (131 vs 244 μg/ml) since copper is required for their respiratory blood pigment, hemocyanin. Instantaneous growth rates were 2.71 % body weight BW/day for cuttlefish fed raw shrimp, 0.33% BW/day for cuttlefish fed pellets, and 0.54% BW/day for cuttlefish fed surimi. The feeding rate of cuttlefish fed shrimp was high (6–8% BW/day). The feeding rate on pellets increased with time (from < 1 to 3% BW/day) but never reached the level for raw shrimp. The feeding rate on surimi increased to equal the rate for raw shrimp during days 1–30 (8 to 9% BW/day) and thereafter decreased (<4% BW/day). In conclusion, there was a major distinction between the palatability of a prepared diet and the ability of that diet to support growth. Surimi was highly palatable but resulted in poor survival, suggesting low nutritional quality. In contrast, pellets were less palatable but produced maintenance growth. Development of practical surimi diets will require supplementation of the surimi with soluble micro- and macronutrients.  相似文献

To investigate the effects of dietary β-glucan (0.5 or 1?g?kg(-1) diet: 0.5-BG, 1-BG) and rutin (0.5 or 1?g?kg(-1) diet: 0.5-RT, 1-RT) after 10 days in the absence of pathogen challenge on the immune response of Fenneropenaeus chinensis, we determined total hemocyte count (THC) and the expression of four immune-related genes in hemocytes: those for prophenoloxidase (proPO), peroxinectin (PX), lipopolysaccharide and/or β-glucan binding protein (LGBP), and c-type lectin (CL). As a prerequisite for subsequent experiments, cDNA encoding proPO of the fleshy shrimp, Fenneropenaeus chinensis (f-proPO) was obtained from hemocytes; it had a full length of 3023bp, with an open reading frame (ORF) of 2061bp, a 105-bp 5'-untranslated region, and a 906-bp 3'-untranslated region containing the poly A signal. A feeding trial was conducted to determine the dietary vitamin E (DL-alpha-tocopheryl acetate, dl-alpha-TOA) requirement and its effect on the non-specific immune responses of juvenile grass shrimp, Penaeus monodon. Purified diets with eight levels (0, 25, 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, 400 mg vitamin E kg diet-1) of supplemental dl-alpha-TOA were fed to P. monodon (mean initial weight 0.29 +/- 0.01 g) for eight weeks. The effect of dietary protein and starvation on the expression of trypsin was evaluated in the Chinesesucker (Myxocyprinus asiaticus Bleeker). The complete trypsin cDNA was cloned from juvenile Chinese suckerpancreatic tissue by using RACE and PCR methods. We used semi-quantitative RT-PCR and enzymatic activitymeasurements to quantify mRNA expression and trypsin activity in fish that were either starved or fed differinglevels of dietary casein (35%, 45% and 55%). The results showed that the Chinese sucker trypsin cDNA sequencewas 912 bp in length. Trypsin activity and mRNA levels were higher in fish that were fed moderate (45% casein)levels of protein than those that were fed high or low levels. Starvation significantly decreased mRNA expressionlevel and trypsin activity. The changes in trypsin activity tended to lag behind the changes in mRNA levels. Therewas no direct relationship between the trypsin activity and mRNA level. Given this, the trypsin synthesis is acomplex process regulated by a balance of several factors in the Chinese sucker.  相似文献

本试验旨在研究饲料蛋白质水平对蜜蜂产浆期繁殖性能的影响。选择35群群势、蜂王年龄和质量一致的意大利蜜蜂Apis mellifera L.,随机分为7组,分别饲喂蛋白质水平为15%、20%、25%、30%、35%及40%的试验饲粮并以油菜花粉作为对照,测定各组蜂群的繁殖性能。结果表明,试验前期,饲粮蛋白质水平对蜂群群势有显著性影响,然而在试验中后期,则无显著影响(P>0.05);随着饲粮蛋白质水平的增加,蜂王产卵力和工蜂初生重呈先升高后降低的变化趋势,与对照组相比差异不显著(P>0.05)。  相似文献

Effects of dietary vitamin C (l-ascorbyl-2-monophosphate-Mg, C2MP-Mg) on growth, tissue copper (Cu) accumulation, and haemocyte superoxide anion production of juvenile grass shrimp, Penaeus monodon, fed with either adequate or high (8 x adequate) dietary Cu were studied. Three experimental diets were used: basal diet supplemented with adequate levels of both C2MP-Mg (40 mg kg diet(-1)) and Cu (20mg kg diet(-1)) (NC-NCu); basal diet supplemented with adequate C2MP-Mg and high Cu (8 x adequate) (NC-HCu); and basal diet supplemented with high C2MP-Mg (5 x adequate) and high Cu (HC-HCu). These were each fed to triplicate groups of shrimp (mean initial weight: 0.29+/-0.01 g) for 8 weeks. Highest (P< 0.01) weight gain, feed efficiency (FE) and protein efficiency ratio (PER) were observed in shrimp fed NC-NCu diet, intermediate in shrimp fed HC-HCu diet, and lowest in shrimp fed NC-HCu diet. Cu concentrations in hepatopancreas, muscle and haemolymph were highest in shrimp fed NC-HCu diet, followed by shrimp fed HC-HCu diet, and lowest for shrimp fed NC-NCu diet. Survival, total haemocyte count (THC) and intracellular superoxide anion (O-2) production were higher in shrimp fed NC-NCu diet than shrimp fed NC-HCu diet, whereas hepatosomatic index (HSI) was higher in shrimp fed NC-HCu diet than shrimp fed NC-NCu diet. However, all these parameters were similar in shrimp fed NC-NCu diet and shrimp fed HC-HCu diet. These data suggest that increase of dietary vitamin C improved haemocyte respiratory burst response and growth and prevented tissue Cu accumulation in P. monodon fed with high dietary Cu.  相似文献

本研究从生长、饲料利用和体成分等指标综合评价饲料蛋白质含量对凡纳滨对虾的影响。研究发现,在海水养殖环境下,饲料蛋白水平对凡纳滨对虾的存活率、增重率、特定生长率、饵料系数、蛋白效率和虾体粗蛋白含量均有显著性影响(p<0.05)。摄食饲料蛋白含量38%的海养凡纳滨对虾有较高的存活率、增重率以及最高的特定生长率。饵料系数随蛋白含量的增加而减小,虾体粗蛋白含量随饲料蛋白水平升高而增加,而蛋白含量38%和41%实验组饵料系数和虾体粗蛋白含量均没有显著性差异(p>0.05)。淡化水养殖条件下,凡纳滨对虾的存活率随饲料蛋白水平的增加而提高,而增重率和特定生长率均在饲料蛋白含量35%实验组最高,饵料系数随蛋白含量的增加先减小后增大,蛋白含量35%实验组饵料系数显著小于其他实验组。海水养殖条件下,凡纳滨对虾的存活率、末体重、增重率、特定生长率和蛋白质效率均高于淡水养殖的对虾。对虾虾体粗蛋白、粗脂肪和粗灰分含量均随盐度升高而升高,而虾体水分随着盐度的升高而降低。  相似文献

A total of 28 adult V-line rabbits were fed ad libitum a control diet or a diet supplemented with 0.5%, 1.0% and 1.5% soybean lecithin (SL) for 12 weeks. Bucks that received 0.5%, 1.0% or 1.5% dietary SL had a higher ejaculate volume, mass motility, sperm concentration, total sperm output and total motile sperm. Dietary SL reduced the percentage of dead sperm and increased the normal sperm, and this concurred with an increase in blood testosterone concentration. Blood and seminal plasma total lipid, acid phosphatase and seminal plasma alkaline phosphatase were significantly increased because of inclusion of SL. Interestingly, SL reduced blood and seminal plasma thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances while increasing blood and seminal plasma glutathione content, glutathione S-transferase, glutathione peroxidase and superoxide dismutase activity. Conception rate and litter size at birth and weaning were also significantly improved. Practically, it could be suggested that SL is a suitable supplement for improving semen quality, antioxidant status, reproductive traits and the economic efficiency of V-line rabbit bucks and 1% is an adequate concentration.  相似文献

为检测不同蛋白含量的日粮和饥饿对胭脂鱼(Myxocyprinus asiaticus)幼鱼胰蛋白酶活性和mRNA表达的影响, 首先用RACE 和PCR 的方法从胭脂鱼幼鱼的肝胰脏组织中克隆得到胰蛋白酶cDNA 全长, 然后用半定量RT-PCR 和酶活性检测方法分别检测了经不同蛋白含量日粮(酪蛋白含量分别为35%、45% 和 55%)投喂和饥饿处理后的胭脂鱼幼鱼的胰蛋白酶mRNA 表达水平和胰蛋白酶活力的变化。结果显示, 胭脂鱼胰蛋白酶cDNA 全长为912 bp。投喂蛋白质含量适中(45%酪蛋白)日粮组的试验鱼胰蛋白酶活性和mRNA 水平高于投喂高蛋白水平日粮组(55%酪蛋白)和低蛋白水平日粮组(35% 酪蛋白); 饥饿明显降低mRNA水平和胰蛋白酶活性; 胰蛋白酶活性的变化滞后于mRNA 水平的变化。胰蛋白酶活力的变化与mRNA 水平的变化之间未呈现直接相关性。因此, 胭脂鱼胰蛋白酶合成可能是一个由多种因素共同调控的复杂过程。    相似文献

为了研究在低蛋白质饲料中补充晶体必需氨基酸对大口黑鲈生长、体组成和免疫指标的影响,根据鱼体的必需氨基酸组成模式设计了7种等能的试验饲料。其中4种饲料(45CP、40CP、35CP和30CP)的粗蛋白质水平分别为45%、40%、35%和30%,另3种饲料(40AA、35AA和30AA)是在低蛋白质饲料(40CP、35CP和30CP)的基础上添加必需氨基酸,使它们的必需氨基酸含量与45CP(对照组)相一致。用上述饲料对初始体重为(10.13 0.01) g的大口黑鲈进行了89d的饲养试验。饲养试验在室内循环水养殖系统中进行,每种饲料设3个重复,每重复放养30尾鱼。方差分析显示:试验鱼的生长性能、饲料效率、全鱼和肌肉的粗蛋白质含量、成活率以及免疫指标均随着饲料蛋白质含量的降低而显著降低(P0.05)。添加必需氨基酸的35AA和30AA的饲料效率和蛋白质保留率分别显著高于对应的未添加必需氨基酸的35CP和30CP组(P0.05),但仍显著低于45CP组(P0.05)。40AA的试验鱼血清溶菌酶活性和血清补体活性与45CP组差异不显著(P0.05)。35AA和30AA组的头肾白细胞呼吸爆发活性显著高于35CP和30CP组(P0.05)。30AA组的全鱼粗蛋白质含量以及肥满度显著高于30CP(P0.05)。各组试验鱼的水分和灰分均无显著差异(P0.05)。回归分析显示:在低蛋白质饲料中补充晶体必需氨基酸对大口黑鲈幼鱼的生长、饲料效率和蛋白质保留率所产生的影响与其引起增加了的饲料蛋白质水平而不是饲料的必需氨基酸水平正相关。研究表明,在低蛋白质饲料中补充的晶体必需氨基酸对大口黑鲈的生长、体组成和免疫指标产生的有益作用不及等量的以蛋白质为来源的必需氨基酸。    相似文献

A trial was undertaken with juvenile Nile tilapia fed graded levels of dietary protein (0–35% DP) over 7 weeks (28°C). Measurements of nitrogen and energy utilization were made using data on ADC, comparative carcass analyses, nitrogen excretion and oxygen uptake. Data indicate that the daily protein intake for maximum N gain was c. 12 g/kg/d and the maintenance protein requirements were about of 2g/kg/d. The optimal DP/DE ratio was found to be 18mg/kJ. Differences were observed in the data on endogenous nitrogen and energy utilization depending on the dietary treatments as well as on the criteria used.  相似文献

以初始体重为(13.640.18)g的大黄鱼( Pseudosciaena crocea R.) 幼鱼为实验对象, 采用32双因子实验, 研究饲料蛋白质水平(40%、45%、50%)和投喂频率(2次/d、1次/d)及其交互作用对其生长、体组成和蛋白质代谢的影响。养殖实验在海水浮式网箱中进行, 养殖周期为8周。结果表明: 饲料蛋白质水平和投喂频率对大黄鱼幼鱼的增重率(WGR)、特定生长率(SGR)和饲料转化率(FCR)均影响显著(P0.05)。在40%和45%蛋白质组, 1次/d投喂的大黄鱼幼鱼的WGR和SGR均显著低于2次/d投喂组, 而FCR则相反。在2次/d投喂时, 45%蛋白质组的大黄鱼幼鱼SGR显著高于40%蛋白质组, 但与50%蛋白质组差异不显著(P0.05)。而在1次/d投喂时, 50%蛋白质组的大黄鱼幼鱼SGR显著高于40%和45%蛋白质组。在两种投喂频率下, 随着饲料蛋白质水平提高, 鱼体水分含量均有升高趋势, 蛋白质含量显著升高而脂肪含量显著下降(P0.05)。饲料的蛋白质水平和投喂频率分别对大黄鱼幼鱼的肝脏指数(HSI)、内脏指数(VSI)和血清中的谷丙转氨酶(ALT)及谷草转氨酶(AST)均影响不显著(P0.05)。投喂频率对肝脏的ALT和AST的影响不显著(P0.05)。在同一投喂频率下, 肝脏ALT和AST均随着饲料蛋白质水平的增加而显著提高(P0.05)。饲料中的蛋白质水平和投喂频率对大黄鱼幼鱼的生长和FCR的影响存在显著的交互作用(P0.05), 而对血清和肝脏中的ALT和AST、HSI、VSI、肥满度(CF)以及体组成的影响均无交互作用。    相似文献

Adult male shore crabs (Carcinus maenas) were maintained on a fish-based diet supplemented with 0, 5 or 10% chitin for 11 weeks. Significantly greater mortality was found during this period in the control group (0% chitin) than those fed 10% chitin. Crabs fed 5 or 10% chitin had lower numbers of cultivatable bacteria in the hepatopancreas than those on the basal diet alone. The addition of chitin had no significant effect on the serum concentrations of protein and glucose, and the levels of glycogen in the hepatopancreas. The total number of circulating hemocytes in the blood was unaffected by the addition of chitin to the diet, however, at week 6 there were significantly more hyaline hemocytes in those crabs fed 10% chitin than the control group. The in vitro phagocytic activity of hemocytes was unaffected by chitin supplementation and crabs challenged with Vibrio alginolyticus showed a similar pattern of susceptibility in the three dietary groups (0, 5 or 10% chitin). Overall although crabs on a chitin-supplemented diet showed greater survival, this was not explained in terms of elevation in the cellular defences of these animals. The enhanced survival of crabs-fed chitin is probably as a result of the removal of potentially pathogenic bacteria from the hepatopancreas. Because chitin appears to 'purge' bacteria from the gut, this may prove to be a useful addition to diets on animals undergoing oral probiotic treatment.  相似文献

Two trials were undertaken with European seabass (Dicentrarchus labrax) to estimate the protein requirements for maintenance and growth as well as the effect of dietary protein level on the activity of hepatic acetyl coenzyme-A carboxylase (ACoAC). Six diets were formulated to contain graded levels of protein (from 5 to 55% crude protein (CP)) at a constant (12%) lipid level. Three other diets were also formulated to contain 35, 45 and 55% CP, but with a higher lipid level (19%). Groups of 10 individually marked fish (IBW: 100 g) and groups of 8 fish (IBW: 160 g) were used in trial I and II, respectively. Fish were fed to visual satiety and intake was recorded. At the end of both studies, whole body, liver and plasma samples were withdrawn for analyses. Growth rate was improved with increasing dietary CP level. Despite not being the object of a statistical analysis, feed efficiency tended to be enhanced at higher dietary CP level and protein efficiency ratio tended to decrease with increased protein intake. The reduction of the dietary protein/energy ratio, due to the increase of dietary lipids further improved growth and feed utilisation. Data from both experiments indicate 4.5+/-0.5 g kg(-1) d(-1) as the daily protein intake for maximum N gain and 520+/-50 mg kg(-1) d(-1) as the maintenance needs for nitrogen balance. An increase of dietary CP level, up to 25%, increased ACoAC activity. A further increase in dietary CP level (35 to 55%) did not affect liver ACoAC activity. The increase in dietary lipid level depressed significantly liver ACoAC specific activity.  相似文献

Twelve experimental diets (D‐1 to D‐12) in a 4 × 3 factorial design having four protein levels (25, 35, 40 and 45%) and three carbohydrate levels (15, 25 and 35%) were formulated and fed to fingerling rohu, Labeo rohita (5.48 ± 0.02 g) for 60 days in three replicates at 2% BW per day. The best performance of fish in terms of weight gain (%), specific growth rate (SGR; % per day), feed conversion ratio (FCR) and protein efficiency ratio (PER) was recorded with diet D‐9 containing 40% protein and 35% dextrin as a source of dietary carbohydrate. In general, lower protein consumption per kilogram BW was observed at all protein levels with the rise of the dextrin level. The apparent digestibilities of protein and lipid were not affected by the dietary treatments. At the end of the experiment the body composition of animals from all treatments showed lower percentages of moisture and higher percentages of protein as compared to the initial values. A consistent rise in protein retention efficiency was noted in fish fed diets with increasing dextrin levels. The highest protein sparing effect was found in fish fed the diet containing 40% protein and 35% dextrin.  相似文献
