Le marquage de l''entrée du nid de bourdons

Résumé Cette étude met en évidence l'efficacité du dépôt d'un marquage odorant dans la reconnaissance de l'entrée du nid par les butineuses de bourdons. L'étude du comportement olfactif de ces ouvrières a consisté à observer leur réponse en présence d'un marqueur odorant déposé par d'autres ouvrières en utilisant la méthode du choix binaire. Les observations ont été faites avec des colonies de plusieurs espèces: Pyrobombus (P.) hypnorum L., Pyrobombus (M.) lapidarius L., Bombus lucorum L., Megabombus (T.) pascuorum Scop., Pyrobombus (P.) pratorum L. et Bombus terrestris L. L'expérimentation a consisté également à faire varier qualitativement la stimulation, ce qui a permis d'étudier la capacité des ouvrières à distinguer l'odeur de la substance déposée par les individus de leur propre colonie de celle déposée par les individus d'une autre colonie, isospécifique ou hétérospécifique. Pour chaque espèce étudiée, les ouvrières retournant au nid font un choix en fonction de la nature du marquage. L'écart entre les pourcentages de réponses est plus important dans le cas du choix entre papier marqué et papier vierge (expérience 1) que dans celui entre papier marqué par la colonie et papier marqué par une colonie étrangère hétérospécifique (expérience 3). Une moindre dispersion des réponses apparaît dans le choix entre papier marqué par la colonie et papier marqué par une colonie étrangère isospécifique (expérience 2). La discussion porte également sur le marquage de l'entrée du nid chez des espèces d'Hyménoptères solitaires terricoles, fonction attribuée à la sécrétion de la glande de Dufour. Le mécanisme de ce marquage chez les Apoïdes sociaux reste à étudier.     

Ultrastructure du lobe postérieur de l'hypophyse du rat et ses modifications au cours de l'excrétion de vasopressine

Résumé Le lobe postérieur de l'hypophyse a été examiné sur coupes ultrafines chez 45 rats (24 normaux, 17 déshydratés respectivement 1, 2 et 4 jours, et 4 anesthésiés à l'éther), après fixation au glutaraldéhyde ou selon la méthode de Karnovsky, post-fixation osmiée et double contraste à l'acétate d'uranyle et au citrate de plomb. Des fibres neurosécrétoires sombres et claires sont reconnaissables, mais les données manquent encore pour interpréter cette différence. Des densifications juxta-membranaires sont observées dans les terminaisons neurosécrétoires là où se trouvent des amas de microvésicules. Des fibres neurosécrétoires traversent parfois des pituicytes; il est aussi souvent observé des fibres, chargées de granules, libres dans un espace péricapillaire. Les espaces péricapillaires, ramifiés en tous sens loin des vaisseaux, développent une large surface de contact avec les extrémités nerveuses et les prolongements de pituicytes.Dans des conditions techniques bien contrôlées, la déshydratation n'entraîne pas de modifications appréciables des granules de neurosécrétat après 24 h. Ensuite les granules sont diminués en nombre, de façon très considérable le 4e jour; mais les granules restants ont un contenu dense normal; jamais il n'a été observé d'aspects de granules vides . Après anesthésie prolongée à l'éther, il n'y a aucune modification visible ni du nombre, ni de la densité des granules. Ces observations sont discutées quant au mécanisme de l'excrétion de vasopressine; elles sont en faveur de l'existence de deux pools hormonaux, l'un libre et rapidement disponible, l'autre plus fortement lié et certainement contenu dans les granules jouant le rôle de réserve. Toutefois un mécanisme d'exocytose granulaire ne peut être formellement exclu.

Ultrastructure of the rat's hypophysial neural lobe and it's changes during vasopressin release

Summary Hypophysial neural lobes of 45 rats (24 controls, 17 dehydrated resp. 1, 2 and 4 days, and 4 ether anesthetized) were fixed either with glutaraldehyde or according to Karnovsky and post-fixed in osmium tetroxyde; ultrathin sections were stained by uranyl acetate and lead citrate. Dark and clear neurosecretory fibres were observed, but sufficient data are still lacking for a valuable interpretation of these aspects. Juxta-membraneous densifications are visible in limited areas of neurosecretory terminals where clusters of microvesicles are present. Neurosecretory fibres happen to be completely encircled by pituioyte cytoplasm; fibres loaded with elementary granules are frequently encountered running free in a pericapillary space. Pericapillary spaces stretch out branching far away from vessels, resulting in a widespread contact with nerve terminals and pituicyte processes.In accurately controlled technical conditions, dehydratation does not result in any noticeable change of neurosecretory granules after 24 h. A decrease of the number of granules follows and is extremely conspicuous after 4 days; though, remaining granules keep a normal dense content, and aspects of empty granules have never been observed. After prolonged ether anesthesia, no visible change either in number or electron density of granules was observed. These findings are discussed in consideration of the mechanism of vasopressin release; they support the hypothesis of two hormonal pools, one of which would be free and rapidly available for release, the other being more tightly bound and certainly located in granules representing a storage site. Though granular exocytosis cannot be absolutely excluded.

Taxonomie numérique de lactobacilles isolés du vin

Résumé L'auteur a déterminé les relations taxonomiques existant entre 65 souches de lactobacilles isolés du vin et 4 souches de collection, à l'aide de l'analyse adansonienne. Sept phénons 80 et deux phénons 72 sont décrits: ces deux derniers correspondent aux sous genres Streptobacterium et Betabacterium. Deux phénons 80 sont assimilables aux espèces Lactobacillus casei et Lactobacillus plantarum. Les autres phénons comportant plus d'une souche ne correspondent à aucune espèce décrite.Ce travail montre que l'on peut mettre en évidence les caractères phénétiques les plus représentatifs pour les regrouper ensuite dans une clé d'identification et que l'on peut juger de la valeur taxonomique d'un caractère d'intérêt pratique.

Numerical taxonomy of lactobacilli isolated from wines

Summary The author has established the taxonomic relationships between 65 strains of lactobacilli isolated from wines and 4 named cultures, by means of adansonian analysis. Seven 80 phenons and two 72 phenons are described. The latter correspond to the subgenera Streptobacterium and Betabacterium. Two 80 phenons answer to the species L. casei and L. plantarum. The others 80 phenons of more than a strain do not correspond to any known species.This study shows that we can isolate the most representative phenetic characters and gather them again in an identification key and that we can appreciate the taxonomic value of a practical character.

     

Génétique moléculaire de la transposition du bras long du chromosome x sur l'y lors de la spéciation humaine

Five cosmidic probes (7 b; 8 j; 22 b; CB 16 and 115 i 1) recognizes site of simple-copy DNA sequence homology between the human X and Y chromosomes. Genomic DNAS restricted with Eco RI from the great apes (Gorilla and Pan) were examined for sequences homologous to these probes, by molecular hybridization studies. Experiments reported here revealed, by genetic dosage with sex, that the great apes have homologous sequences of these five probes on their X chromosomes only. The simplest explanation of these results is that the corresponding sequences were transposed from the X chromosome to the Y chromosome after the human line diverged, like probe pDP 34 for locus DXY S1 (Page et al., 1984).     

L’industrie du Paléolithique inférieur du site de Wujiagou,Hubei Province,République Populaire de Chine

The site of Wujiagou, Hubei Province in China, dated to just over 800,000 years, in sandy deposits and sandy-silt which covers a river terrace of the end of the Early Pleistocene, delivered a rich lithic industry, mainly composed of pebbles tools. This industry has an archaic aspect, consisted by the abundance of pebbles tools, the presence of hand-axes, and the small amount of small tools. The pebble tools include choppers and picks, in addition of band-axes. Small tools are relatively poor and have few simple retouched scrapers.     

La forme scléronodulaire de la maladie de Hodgkin: expérience du CHU de Sherbrooke

Scleronodular type of Hodgkin''s disease: experience at the Centre hospitalier universitaire de SherbrookeThe nodular sclerosis type of Hodgkin''s disease appears to be a distinct clinical entity. However, the incidence, the initial localization of the tumour and the survival of the patients are variable. The present study was carried out on a group of 17 patients, all French Canadians living in the province of Quebec, from a total of 31 with Hodgkin''s disease, an incidence of 55%. There were more males (10) than females (7). The mean age of the group was 37 years, but that of the females was lower than that of the males. The mediastinum was involved at the onset in 47% of the patients. The initial staging (according to the classification of Rye) in 76% of the patients was I or II.Four patients showed disease below the diaphragm. The lungs were infiltrated three times, the spleen six times, and the liver five times. The duration of survival of the 17 patients was twice that of the patients with the three other types of the disease.     

L'effet de β-mercaptoéthanol et de l'urée sur la structure du phragmoplaste

Résumé Les fibrilles constitutives du phragmoplaste sont de nature protéique. L'action du-mercaptoéthanol permet de conclure que ces protéines sont liées par des ponts S-S. En présence d'urée, la structure du phragmoplaste est détruite, ce qui indique l'existence de liaisons hydrogènes.

Der Effekt des-Merkaptoäthanols gestattet die Annahme, daß die Proteine mit S-S-Brücken verbunden sind. 3. Bei Anwesenheit von Harnstoff wird die Phragmoplaststruktur zerstört, was für das Vorhandensein von H-Brücken spricht.

Fonctions histoenzymatiques lors de l'évolution et de la lutéolyse du corps jaune de la lapine

Résumé Trente cinq enzymes sont recherchées lors de l'étude comparative de la lutéinisation et la lutéolyse. Vingt six sont histochimiquement décelables dans les corps jaunes gestatifs leur permettant de stocker et métaboliser glucides, corps gras, nucléotides, amines, phosphates, sulfates et d'autres métabolites. Les activités importantes des enzymes de la voie des pentoses, des diaphorases et de la stéroïde 3 ol DH témoigneraient d'une stéroïdogenèse active. Les cellules lutéiniques thécales semblent histoenzymatiquement mieux pourvues au début de la luteinisation; les cellules lutéiniques granuleuses le sont pendant les stades ultérieurs.La lutéolyse est marquée par une diminution de la plupart des activités enzymatiques. Les activités tant qu'elles existent, sont topographiquement limitées (ilôts actifs extra lutéaux) et surtout métaboliquement restreintes. L'équipement enzymatique des structures lutéales très involuées suggère plutôt qu'une stéroïdogenèse même résiduelle des processus typiques et une activité des éléments conjonctifs (fibrillogenèse).

Histoenzymatic functions of the evolution and the luteolysis of the corpus luteum of the rabbit

Summary 35 enzymes were investigated in the course of a comparative study on the luteinisation and luteolysis. 26 of them were found in the corpora lutea during gestation. They were able as a consequence to stock and the metabolize glucides, lipides, nucleotides, amines, phosphates, sulphates as well as other metabolites. The strong activities of the pentose shunt's enzymes, of the tetrazolium reductases and ⁵ 3 OH-steroide DH indicated most probably an active steroidogenesis. The theca-luteinic cells appeared having a stronger histoenzymatic activity in the beginning of the luteinisation; the granuloso-luteinic cells showed a stronger activity in the later stades.The luteolysis is characterized by a decrease of the activity of the preponderant number of the enzymes mainly in the degenerated luteal cells. The enzymes activities as far as such existed were topographically limited (active extraluteal islands) and restricted mainly in their metabolizing possibilities. The author's results suggested as more probable the existence of a process of lysis and an activity of the connective tissue elements (fibrillogenesis) than a steroidogenesis, even though in a residual or terminal form.

     

La technique de débitage au Paléolithique supérieur de l’archipel du Japon

Seuil thermique de développement de trois coccinelles prédatrices de la cochenille du manioc au congo

Résumé Le seuil thermique de développement de 3 prédateurs de la famille desCoccinellidae (un exotique et deux locaux) a été étudié. L'équation de la constante thermique a été utilisée pour le calcul du seuil thermique. Les données obtenues ont été comparées entre elles. L'espèce exotiqueHyperaspis raynevali a un seuil thermique de développement plus bas que celui des 2 espèces locales (Hyperaspis senegalensis hottentotta etExochomus flaviventris). Le seuil thermique suivant a été obtenu pour chaque espèce, à savoir: 11,81°C pourH. raynevali; 13,78°C pourH. s. hottentotta; 13,63°C pourE. flaviventris. Des différences de seuil thermique de développement et de mortalité ont été enregistrées entre le prédateur exotique et les espèces indigènes. Des hypothèses explicatives sont évoquées dans la discussion.      

Assurance qualité du circuit des médicaments radiopharmaceutiques du service de médecine nucléaire de l’hôpital Ibn Sina de Rabat

Since Law n^o 17-04 of the national code of medicine and pharmacy, published in the official newspaper of November 22, 2006, radiotracers used in nuclear medicine in Morocco have become drugs or diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals. As such, radiopharamaceuticals must meet the requirements of pharmaceutical quality and control that apply to any drug (Payoux and Prigent, 2009 [5]). This task must be undertaken under the pharmacist's responsibility with a specific skill known as “radiopharmacist” (Morera et al., 1993 [6]). In the situation of Moroccan hospital, like Ibn Sina hospital for which the only law of the national code is partially applied, nevertheless the pharmacy department cannot ignore this issue. As part of this work, we present the proposed new quality installation service for 24 months. It aims to improve the proper use of radiopharmaceuticals, to contribute to the quality of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and especially to ensure the optimal conditions of safety for staff and patients. This activity closely affects the pharmaceutical supply, preparation, dispensing and management of radioactive waste resulting from handling radiopharmaceutical drugs. Radiopharmaceutical quality control of was also integrated into the global quality control program, despite the technical constraints encountered during their day-to-day practice. Our basic documentation referred to European directives (Pharmacopée européenne, 2010 [8]), French Pharmacopoeia (Bonnot-Lours, 2000 [2]) and good preparation practise rules (Afssaps, 2006 [3]). The reflection was undertaken within a multidisciplinary framework: nuclear physician, physicists, a pharmacist working in hospitalpharmacy, chemists of the drug control department, computer and paramedical staff (technicians, nurses, and cleaners).     

Variations de l'incidence des fractures de l'extrémité supérieure du fémur chez les personnes agées de la région de Québec.

To estimate the incidence of fracture of the proximal end of the femur in people aged 50 years or older living in the Quebec area in 1971, 1976 and 1981 we determined the number of admissions for such fractures to the 15 acute care hospitals in the region. From 1971 to 1981 the number of fractures increased by 71%; the increases for those aged 75 to 84 years and 85 years or over were 98% and 118% respectively. The variation is only partly explained by changes in sex and age distribution of the population; the incidence rates also increased. Among men aged 75 to 84 years the incidence rate per 1000 person-years rose from 2.63 in 1971 to 5.22 in 1981, an increase of 98%; the corresponding figures for men aged 85 years or more were 9.76 and 16.91, an increase of 73%. Among women aged 75 to 84 years the rate rose from 7.28 to 8.81, an increase of 21%; the corresponding figures for women aged 85 years or more were 20.40 and 24.27, an increase of 21% and 19% respectively.
