Sur les conditions de gisement de l'ichthyofaune oligocene d'Aix-en-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhone): Essai de definition d'un modele paleoecologique et paleogeographique

The study of the fossil fishes preserved in 19 successive fossiliferous beds sampled while excavating in the city ofAix-en-Provence permits the elaboration of a sedimentary model for the Oligocene gypsiferous marls. These seem to have been deposited on a coastal plain, in continental waters characterized by a fluctuating, very low, salt-content.

Examination under the scanning electron microscope of paleozoic ostracode tests is limited by the conservationof the shells. When the fossilized specimens are stuck on the top of a delicate wire with a varnish, they are observable from various sides without changing the preparation.

Six new species of radiolarians from the Upper Permianof Kamigori (SW Japan) are introduced. They represent a part of a rich fauna, the whole of which will be detailed in an other paper.     

L'Ichthyofaune des marnes messiniennes des environs de senigallia (Marche,Italie): Signification paleoecologique et paleogeographique

The revision of the fish fauna from the Messinian marls of Senigallia (Marche, Italy) leads to the reduction of the faunal list of the fossil Fishes found in this locality to only four species. One new genus is created: Cryptolebias new. gen.. This fish fauna characterizes an environment with a variable salt content: it may have been more or less temporarily connected with the sea, although it was also exposed to noticeable continental influences, as demonstrated by the occurrence of Amphibians and Reptiles (Ophidians).     

Decouverte d'un Cobitidae (poisson teleosteen,Cypriniforme) dans le Pliocene continental des environs de Rochefort-Montagne (Puy-de-Dome)

A single incomplete specimen of Teleost fish has been discovered in lignitic shales of Pliocene age croppingout West of Rochefort-Montagne (Puy-de-Dôme, France). The specimen is referred to the recent species Cobitis taenia L., to which it appears identical in every respect. The presence of Cobitis cf. taenia L. in the Pliocene of Rochefort-Montagne allows the environment of deposition of the lignitic shales, which are rich in fossil plants, to be more precisely defined.     

Alcaloïdes des feuilles et écorces de tronc d'Alstonia odontophora

Six known indole alkaloids were isolated from the leaves and stem bark of Alstonia odontophora: vincamajine, 11-methoxy- akuammicine, quebrachidine, pleiocarpamine, antirhine, pleiocorine and pleiocraline, along with the novel bisindole, N (I′)-demethylpleiocorine.     

Lanveocia et Candelasphaeridium,genres nouveaux d'Acritarches des gres de Landevennec (Gedinnien inferieur de la rade de Brest - Finistere)

Two new genera of organic-walled microplancton (Acritarchs) are described. All are from the Early Devonian(Early Gedinnian) Grès de Landévennec (Rade de Brest - Finistère). Lanveocia formosa (type species) and Candelasphaeridium insolitum (type species) are described.

The so-called “série carbonatée” of Aurillac-Arpajon basin is generally ascribed to the upper Oligocene; a newlydiscovered micrommalian fauna shows that the basis of this sequence is really older and at least of a middle oligocene age.

With the data of the osteological paleontology and these of the ichnology, the authors attempt to restore the biotopes where lived the trackmakers, biotopes which have favoured in the Triassic the evolution and the expansion of the Archosaurs, the specialized Reptiles in the easy and rapid locomotion. They pointed out that the chirotheroid footprints cannot be attributed at all events to the Pseudosuchians and they come to the conclusion that Dinosaurs and Pseudosuchians, as separated groups, are appeared as early as the lower Triassic.

Pollen-analysis shows the presence of the genus Hamamelis in the pliocene flora of southern France. It contributesto the knowledge of the past distribution of taxa which are now extinct in western Europe.     

Pollens d'angiospermes modernesdans du Cretace superieur des Charentes (S-W France)

Samples from Upper-Cretaceous outcrops of the classical type area (Charentes, S-W France) have yielded palynofloras.Because of the presence of many pollen types of extant families, problems of contamination are considered. But the main sources which are generally suggested fail to explain yet the total number of palynofloras.

Parkinsonids (Ammonitina) of the Subfurcatum Zone (Upper Bajocian) were found in the “Calcaires à petites huitres” formation from the northern part of Ile Crémieu. Correlations are established between different Upper Bajocian lithostratigraphic units of Mont d'Or lyonnais, Ile Crémieu and folded Jura.

The Redonian locality of la Morelière, the disappearence of which was reported, is accessible again. The Bivalvia corroborate the Pliocene age of this locality which was often put in the Miocene.     

Regulation d'activité de l'α-Amylase à différentes températures d'adaptation et en fonction de l'ablation des pédoncules oculaires et du stade de mue chez Palaemon serratus

The influence of thermal acclimatisation of the shrimp Palaemon serratus on the specific activity of α-amylase and the soluble proteins of the hepato pancreas show the presence of a metabolic compensation kinetic within this organ. The kinetic properties of partially purified α-amylase show that 2 sites are able to fix starch in the absence of NaCl but only 1 site when NaCl is present. The importance of conformational changes of the enzyme is shown by examining its regulatory properties according to the different temperatures of adaptation, and to the removal of eyestalks and the molt cycle. During these changes there are no qualitative variations in α-amylase isoenzymes.     

Éléments de biogéographie et d'écologie desMollusques Quaternaires et actuels du banc d'Arguin (Mauritanie)

Situated in arid area, the «banc d'Arguin landscomposes a littoraly and sandy biotope. Some stony headland could be found on the sea side.The malacofauna belongs to the senegalian type but look impoverished. Therefore, one can found some lusitanian species mainly on stones and six endemic species of the senegalo-mauretanian littoral. With the same lusitanian influences and the same endemic species, the quaternary fauna looks like the actual one belonging to the senegalian type.
