Taxonomic Review of the Family Lycidae (Coleoptera) in Korea

We reviewed the family Lycidae in Korea. The Korean Lycidae was recorded to fourteen species under eight genera until now. However, the taxonomy of Korean species was conducted without comparative analysis. We revised the Korean Lycidae to eleven species under seven genera of two subfamilies. Also, we provided the key to subfamilies, gernera, and species including illustrations of pronotum and aedeagus, the photos of adult habitus.     

Taxonomic Note on Littoral Aleochara Gravenhorst Species in Korea (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Aleocharinae)

A taxonomic note of the littoral Aleochara Gravenhorst species in Korea is presented. Five species are recognized from intertidal zone. Aleochara trisulcata Weise and A. fucicola Sharp are reported for the first time in Korea and southern Korea, respectively. A key, a checklist of Korean littoral Aleochara species, and drawings of median lobes and spermathecae are provided.     

Taxonomic Review of the Tribe Ulomini (Coleoptera, Tenebrionidae) in Korea

The tribe Ulomini of Korean Tenebrionidae is reviewed taxonomically. Korean Ulomini recorded to three genera and six species, Cneocnemis laminipes Gebien, Uloma marseuli Nakane, U. latimanus Kolbe, U. excisa Nakane, U. bonzica Marseul, Eutochia lateralis (Boheman). We have found that U. exciza was misidentified U. bonzica, and E. lateralis was not distributed in Korea as the result of this study. We confirm that two genera and four species are distributed in Korea. A key to diagnosis of the genera and species, and figures of these species are presented.     

Taxonomic Review of the Tribe Tenebrionini (Coleoptera, Tenebrionidae) in Korea

ABSTRACT The tribe Tenebrionini of Korean Tenebronidae is reviewed taxonomically. Five species, Encyalesthus violaceipennis (Marseul), Menephilus lucens Marseul, Neatus ventralis (Marseul), Tenebrio molitor Linné, Tenebrio obscurus Fabricius, are recognized in Korea. A key to diagnosis of the genera and species, and figures of these species are presented.     

Taxonomic review of Mycetophagidae Leach (Coleoptera: Tenebrionoidea) in Korea with their host fungi

A taxonomic review of the fungivorous Korean Mycetophagidae is presented. Nine species in four genera belonging to two tribes are presented in Korea. Four species, Eulagius ussuriensis Nikitsky, Litargus japonicus Reitter, Mycetophagus irroratus (Reitter), and Mycetophagus pustulosus (Reitter), are newly recorded in Korea. Most species are associated with the fruiting bodies of higher fungi, fungus‐grown bark, and mold contaminated materials. In addition, we provide information on host‐fungi records of Korean mycetophagid species.     

First Record of the Family Passandridae in Korea (Coleoptera: Cucujoidea)

A taxonomic study of the Korean Passandridae is presented. The family, genus and species (Ancistria apicalis Reitter) are reported for the first time in Korea. Comparison with a lectotype was made. An illustration of the habitus and line drawings of diagnostic characters are provided.     

A Taxonomic Study of the Genus Agathidium Panzer (Coleoptera: Leiodidae) from Korea, Part II. Subgenus Agathidium

A taxonomic study of the subgenus Agathidium of the genus Agathidium Panzer in Korea is presented. Four species [Agathidium (Agathidium) coreanum Angelini, A. (A.) crassicorne Portevin, A. (A.) merkli Angelini, and A. (A.) oblongum Angelini] are recognized. Agathidium (A.) mequignoni Roubal recorded by Angelini is misidentification of A. (A.) crassicorne Portevin. Spermatheca of A. (A.) merkli is illustrated for the first time. A key to the species, diagnoses and illustrations of diagnostic characters are provided.     

Taxonomic Study of Korean Cantharidae (Coleoptera) V. A Newly Recorded Genus and Species, Pseudoabsidia ussurica Wittmer, from Korea

ABSTRACT We examined newly recorded species, Pseudoabsidia ussurica Wittmer, from Korea. The species was redescribed with their color variation. Also, the photos of adult habitus and aedeagus are provided.     

Taxonomic Notes on Myllocerus malignus Faust (Coleoptera: Curculionidae, Entiminae)

ABSTRACT ABSTRACT Myllocerus malignus Faust was described new to science from Korea in 1887. Since then, the species collected from Korea and Far-east Russia has been misidentified as Eumyllocerus gratiosus Sharp, E. filicornis (Reitter), or E. longulus Egorov et Zherikhin. A taxonomic review of Myllocerus malignus Faust (1887) with its synonymy and the clarification of sexual dimorphism is presented. As a results, Myllocerus viridiaureus Suvorov (1915) and Eumyllocerus longulus Egorov et Zherikhin (1990) are synonymized with Myllocerus malignus.     

Taxonomic review of the subfamily Nacerdinae (Coleoptera: Oedemeridae) in Korea

Here, we present a taxonomic review of the oedemerid subfamily Nacerdinae in Korea. Eleven species in five genera under two tribes are recognized. The subgenus Nacerdes (Patiala), represented by Nacerdes (Patiala) ocularis (Lewis), is identified for the first time in Korea. Keys, diagnoses, habitus photos of adults, and drawings of male genitalia are provided.     

Taxonomic review of the genus Copelatus Erichson (Coleoptera: Dytiscidae) in Korea

A taxonomic review of the genus Copelatus Erichson (Coleoptera: Dytiscidae) in Korea is presented. In the present study, five species of Copelatus are recognized from Korea, including one unrecorded species, C. kammuriensis. We provide a key to the Korean species of Copelatus, diagnosis of one unrecorded species, habitus photographs, scanning electron micrographs of the elytron, and illustrations of the aedeagus.     

Taxonomy of the Genus Zeadolopus Broun (Coleoptera: Leiodidae: Leiodinae) in Korea

A taxonomic study of the genus Zeadolopus Broun in Korea is presented. Two species, Zeadolopus chaosicus Daffner and Z. japonica (Champion), are recognized and the latter is recorded for the first time in Korea. A key, diagnoses, and illustrations of diagnostic characters are provided.     

河北省芫菁种类记述(鞘翅目:芫菁科)

在多年野外物种考察基础上,依据河北大学馆藏标本和文献资料,对河北省的芫菁种类进行分类和整理,共计9属24种,其中丽斑芫菁Mylabris(Chalcabris)speciosa(Pallas,1781)、四星栉芫菁Megatrachelus politus(Ge-bler,1832)、二斑狭翅芫菁Stenoria(Stenoria)fasciata (Faldermann,1835)和异色带栉芫菁Zonigis fortuccii Fairmaire,1887为河北省新纪录种,并编制了属、种检索表.记述了各种的地理分布.     

Taxonomic review of the Cleridae (Coleoptera) in Korea (Part 1): Clerinae Latreille, 1802

A taxonomic review of six genera of Korean Clerinae is presented. Eleven species, including Stigmatium pilosellum (Gorham, 1878), a new Korean record, are reported in this paper. A key to the Korean species and genera, diagnoses, whole‐body photographs of adults, and illustrations of diagnostic characters are provided.     

Newly Recorded and Little Known Tenebrionid Species from Korea

ABSTRACT Four tenebrionid species, Phaleromela subhumeralis (Marseul), Trachyscelis sabuleti Lewis, Parabolitophagus felix (Lewis), Metaclisa atrocyanea Lewis, and one tribe, Trachyscelini, are recorded for the first time from Korea. Also Korean materials of three tenebrionid species, Emypsara riederi (Faldermann), Ischnodactylus loripes Lewis, Bolitophagus reticulatiis (Linne) are confirmed.     

A Taxonomic Review of the Genus Platydema Laporte and Brulle in Korea (Coleoptera, Tenebrionidae, Diaperinae)

Taxanomic review of Korean Platydema Laporte and Brulle of tribe Diaperini in Tenebrionidae is presented. Eight species including P. marseuli Lewis, 1894 recorded newly in Korea are described here. We provide a key to Korean species, diagnoses, lists of feeding fungi and photos for them.     

Little known Eucinetidae (Coleoptera: Scirtoidea) in Korea

The beetle family Eucinetidae, represented by Eucinetus haemorrhoidalis (Germar), is newly recorded from southern parts of the Korean Peninsula, extending its distributional range by several hundred kilometers to the south. A habitus photo and illustrations of the diagnostic characters of species are provided.
