Structural and magnetic characterization of one-dimensional oxalato-bridged metal(II) complexes with 4-amino-3,5-bis(2-pyridyl)-1,2,4-triazole ligand: A supramolecular open-framework

A new family of one-dimensional oxalato-bridged metal(II) complexes with formula {[M(ox)(abpt)]·4H₂O}_n [M^II = Mn (1), Fe (2), Co (3), Zn (4); ox = oxalate dianion; abpt = 4-amino-3,5-bis(2-pyridyl)-1,2,4-triazole] has been synthesized and chemically, structurally and magnetically characterized. The crystal structures of compounds 2-4 have been solved by single crystal X-ray diffraction, whereas complex 1 has been studied by means of X-ray powder diffraction methods. All of them are isomorphous and crystallize in the triclinic space group P. The metal atoms are bridged by bis-bidentate oxalate anions forming zig-zag chains in which bidentate chelating abpt ligands complete the octahedral O₄N₂ donor set. The crystal structures show an open-framework that contains rectangular channels in which easily removable hydrogen bonded ribbons of water molecules are located. The occurrence of antiferromagnetic intrachain interactions for compounds 1-3 was determined by cryomagnetic susceptibility measurements.     

Mononuclear rhodium(I) complexes of 4-Amino-3,5-bis(pyridin-2-yl)-1,2,4-triazole. Crystal structure of [Rh(CO)2(NH2bpt)]ClO4

Reaction of 4-amino-3,5-bis(pyridin-2-yl)-1,2,4-triazole (NH₂bpt) or its potassium salt (KNHbpt) with several rhodium(I) compounds, produces new neutral and cationic complexes of Rh(I). One of the complexes [Rh(CO)₂(NH₂bpt)]ClO₄ has been characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystals are monoclinic, space group P2₁/n, with a = 17.6130(6), b = 11.3072(2), c = 9.0013(2) Å, β = 101.536(2)° and Z = 4. The structure has been refined to R = 0.049.     

Synthesis and X-ray crystal structure of a polymeric copper(II) complex containing the novel ligand 4,4-(1,4-phenylene)bis[3-phenyl-5-(2-pyridyl)-4H-1,2,4-triazole]

The synthesis and X-ray crystal structure of the complex {[Cu^II(Ph₂PBPT)(bpy)](ClO₄)₂ · 2DMF}_∞ where Ph₂PBPT=4,4^′-(1,4-phenylene)bis[3-phenyl-5-(2-pyridyl)-4H-1,2,4-triazole], bpy=2,2^′-bipyridine and DMF=N,N-dimethylformamide are reported. In this one-dimensional coordination polymer the Cu²⁺ ions are in a distorted octahedral N₆ coordination environment made up of two Ph₂PBPT molecules, each chelating via one pyridine and one triazole nitrogen, and one bpy co-ligand. Within the zig-zag chain thus formed the shortest distance between two metal centres across the Ph₂PBPT ligand is 13.305(3) Å while it is 10.009(3) Å between two chains. This complex represents the first structurally characterised example of a coordination compound incorporating a chelating 4,4^′-bis(4H-1,2,4-triazole) as a ligand.     

One trinuclear copper(II) complex derived from a new Schiff base ligand based on the dianion of 4-chloro-6-(hydroxymethyl)-2-((3-aminopropylimino)methyl)-phenol: Synthesis, structure, spectroscopic and magnetic properties

A linear trinuclear copper(II) complex (1), prepared from a new Schiff base ligand, namely the dianion of 4-chloro-6-(hydroxymethyl)-2-((3-aminopropylimino)methyl)-phenol, was synthesized and characterized in this paper. The X-ray structural study reveals that the geometry of the central Cu2 ion is elongated octahedral and that of the two side Cu(II) ions is distorted square pyramidal. The magnetic susceptibility measurements from 2 to 300 K reveal medium antiferromagnetic interactions between the Cu(II) ions with a J value of −64.6(1) cm⁻¹.
