A new species of Acantholimon Boiss. (Plumbaginaceae) from Ankara, Turkey

Acantholimon anatolicum Dogan & Akaydın sp. nov. (Plumbaginaceae) is described and illustrated. The species grows on deep gypsum-rich sandy soil on eroded mountain slopes between Çayırhan and Nallıhan in Ankara. Diagnostic morphological characters that discern it from closely related species are discussed and its conservation status is indicated. A revised key to Acantholimon species with ± dense terminal spikes and excurrent scapes is given for the species found in Turkey. A new species of Acantholimon Boiss. sect. Glumaria Boiss. (Plumbaginaceae) from Elazığ, Turkey

A new species, Acantholimon evrenii sp. nov. is described and illustrated for the first time in sect. Glumaria from Turkey. The species is confined to B7 Elazığ in East Anatolia where it grows on rocky mountain steppes. The diagnostic morphological characters from closely related species are given, along with a discussion dealing with its taxonomic relationship. Its conservation status is indicated. Three new species with two flowered spikelets in Acantholimon (Plumbaginaceae) from East Anatolia, Turkey

Three new species, Acantholimon bashkaleicum sp. nov. , Acantholimon artosense sp. nov. and Acantholimon hoshapicum sp. nov. (Plumbaginaceae) are described and illustrated. The species are all confined to B9/B10 Van Province in East Anatolia where they grow either on calcareous mountain slopes or on mountain steppes. Diagnostic morphological characteristics from the closely related species are given, along with a discussion dealing with their taxonomic relationships, and their conservation statuses are pointed out. The diagnostic morphological characters that distinguish it from closely related taxa are discussed. Synopsis of Turkish Acantholimon Boiss. (Plumbaginaceae)

A synopsis of Acantholimon in Turkey is given on the basis of a revisional study conducted in Turkey by the authors. An account of 52 species, ten subspecies, and 17 varieties is given, including keys to the species, subspecies, and varieties, and a general indication of their distribution, as well as their conservation status in Turkey. Seven new taxa, namely A .  ekimii sp. nov. , A. capitatum ssp. sivasicum ssp. nov. , A. calvertii var. glabrum var. nov. , A. huetii var. breviscapum var. nov. , A. acerosum ssp. longibracteolorum ssp. nov. , A. lycaonicum ssp. cappadocicum ssp. nov. , and A. halophilum var. coloratum var. nov. , are described, together with a few new combinations. A. wiedemannii , A. iconicum , and A. lycaonicum , described from Turkey in the past, but placed under other species as synonyms in the Flora of Turkey , are recognized once again as good species. A. multiflorum and A. parviflorum are given a species status. In Turkey, the presence of A. latifolium , A. araxanum , A. lepturoides , A. hohenackerii , A. senganense , A. fominii , A. petraeum , and A. tragacanthinum is also confirmed.  © 2007 The Linnean Society of London, Botanical Journal of the Linnean Society , 2007, 154 , 397–419.     

Ctenophthalmus harputus, a new Spalax flea from Turkey

ABSTRACT. Ctenophthalmus harputus sp.n. is described from the mole rat Spalax ehrenbergi Nehring collected near Elaziǧ city in eastern Turkey. This new flea species is classified in the Ctenophthalmus (Palaeo-ctenophthalmus) fissurus Wagner group. A key is given to the six species of Spalax fleas (Siphonaptera: Hystrichopsyllidae, Ctenophthalmus spp.) recorded from Turkey.     

Acantholimon doganii sp. nov. (Plumbaginaceae) with persistent circinnate leaf bases, from Turkey

The new species Acantholimon doganii Y. Bağcı, Doğu & Akaydın is described and illustrated. Diagnostic morphological characteristics in closely related species are discussed and the conservation status of the new species is analysed. A revised key to the Turkish Acantholimon species with persistent circinnate leaf basis is also provided.     

Water mites of the genus Sperchon Kramer (Acari: Hydrachnidia: Sperchontidae) from Turkey,with description of a new species from Taurus Mountains (southern Turkey)

A new water mite species Sperchon (Hispidosperchon) serapae n. sp. is described. The material was collected from a slow-flowing stream during field study on the water mite fauna of the Lakes region in southwestern Turkey. An updated list of hitherto known species of Sperchon Kramer from Turkey, including nomenclatural changes and numerous new locality records to the species, is also given.     

On the genus SuniusStephens, 1829 of Turkey. VI. A new micropterous species and distribution of the genus (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Paederinae)

A new species of the genus Sunius Stephens, 1829 is described from Konya province in Anatolia and illustrated: Sunius yamani sp. n. Additional records of six species of Sunius from Turkey are reported. A total of 39 species are now known from Turkey, 35 of them are endemic. Distribution maps are given for all Turkish members of the genus Sunius.     

Two new species of <Emphasis Type="Italic">Zercon</Emphasis> (Acari: Zerconidae) from Turkey

Two new species of zerconid mites, Zercon uludagicus sp. n. and Z. huseyini sp. n., from Turkey are described and illustrated. The similarities and differences between the species are discussed. The lists of the taxonomic diagnostic key to adults of Zercon species known from Turkey are also given.     

Muscari vuralii sp. nov. (Liliaceae/Hyacinthaceae) from south Anatolia, Turkey

Muscari vuralii Y. Bağcı & Doğu sp. nov. (Liliaceae/Hyacinthaceae) from the Karaman (C4 Karaman–Turkey) is described and illustrated. It is closely related to M. coeleste Fomin and M. macbeathianum Kit Tan. Diagnostic morphological characters are discussed and a key to related Muscari species in Turkey is given. The geographical distribution of the new species is mapped. Notes are also presented on its ecology, biogeography and conservation status.     

Verbascum eskisehirensis sp. nov. (Scrophulariaceae) from central Anatolia, Turkey

Verbascum eskisehirensis Karavel., Ocak & Ekici sp. nov. (sect. Bothrosperma Murb.) is described and illustrated from Turkey. This new species is confined to B3 Eskisehir in central Anatolia. A morphological comparison is made with the closely related species; V. oreophilum K. Koch and V. pyramidatum M. Bieb. In addition, a cluster analysis was conducted and a distribution map of the new species and the related species is also given.     

A New Species of Laccobius Erichson, 1837 (Coleoptera: Hydrophilidae: Hydrophilinae) from Turkey

A new species, Laccobius (Dimorpholaccobius) hopaensis sp. n. is described and Laccobius (Dimorpholaccobius) hoberlandti Gentili, 1982 is recorded from Turkey for the first time. In addition, a list of Laccobius Erichson, 1837 species known from Turkey is presented.     

Three new West Palaearctic species of Rhamphomyia subgenus Lundstroemiella (Diptera, Empididae)

Rhamphomyia (Lundstroemiella) cervi sp. n. (France), R. (L.) cimrmani sp. n. (Turkey) and R. (L.) speighti sp. n. (France) are described and illustrated. A key to the Palaearctic species of the subgenus Lundstroemiella Frey is given.
