In a continued chemosystematic investigation of the water-soluble compounds in Veronica sect. Hebe, we have investigated two more of the species formerly classified as Parahebe. Both species contained mannitol in considerable amounts and in addition some glucosides of iridoid acids. Veronica cheesemanii was characterised by aucubin and its esters: 2′-O-benzoylaucubin and an aucubin diester named cheesemanioside. The main iridoid compounds in Veronica hookeriana were catalpol and its ester verminoside, but this species also contained the sugar ester methyl 1-O-benzoyl-3-α-glucuronosylglycerol and a caffeoyl phenylethanoid glycoside (CPG) named parahebeoside, a 2′-O-β-xylopyranosyl derivative of the known plantamajoside. The results show that the studied species of the former genus Parahebe are very different with regard to their chemical content. This is in agreement with the DNA sequence data and implies the genus was polyphyletic as previously circumscribed. 相似文献

Flavone glycosides are the main flavonoid leaf constituents in the related genera Parahebe and Veronica (Scrophulariaceae), in agreement with former chemical studies of the family. In Parahebe there are groups of species in which there are mainly luteolin glycosides, and groups in which 6-hydroxyluteolin dominates. Small amounts of apigenin occur in many taxa. Glycosylation is usually in the 7-position but 4′- and 5-glycosides were also found. In Veronica a larger variety of flavone aglycones was found: e.g. luteolin, apigenin, chrysoeriol, tricin and three different 6-hydroxyflavones. They are often present in the plants in the form of glucuronides. Glycosylation is in the 7-or-5-position. Most species of both genera have a distinctive pattern of flavonoid glycosides in their leaves which can be used for identification. Populations of P. catarractae are an exception in showing three different patterns, but here the variety in flavone profiles corresponds to the pattern of morphological and geographic variation within this taxon. Anthocyanins are responsible for the blue, mauve and pink colours of the flowers in the two genera. In Veronica they are based on delphinidin, whereas in Parahebe catarractae on both delphinidin and cyanidin. 相似文献

Caffeoyl-catalpol, isoferuloyl-catalpol, protocatechuoyl-catalpol, benzoyl-catalpol, p-hydroxybenzoyl catalpol (catalposide), vanilloyl-catalpol and cinnamoyl-aucubin have been isolated from several Veronica species (Scrophulariaceae) in a more or less pure state. The first four compounds have never been recorded in plants before. A PC survey of forty-three species of the genus sensu lato has shown a general presence of aucubin and catalpol. They are accompanied in many of the species by a complex mixture of esters, especially esters of catalpol with aromatic acids. In only one species have aucubin esters been found. Loganin has been identified in five species, this being the first time that this compound has been found in the Scrophulariaceae. Loganin is accompanied by unidentified loganin esters in the same five species. From the systematic point of view the complex mixtures of esters of catalpol in Veronica seem to be noteworthy. Species of Globularia, Erinus, Scrophularia Verbascum, Wulfenia, Catalpa and Plantago investigated either totally lacked ester glucosides in leaves or contained mainly different types of esters. The possible systematic meaning of these results is briefly discussed. 相似文献

The section Brunnei was extensively studied based on material from North Europe. To stabilise the nomenclature we studied the relevant types of taxa included in this section. Phylogenetic relationships and species limits were investigated using rDNA ITS sequences and the results were compared with the morphological data. We recognised 11 species: Cortinarius brunneus, C. clarobrunneus comb. nov., C. coleoptera, C. ectypus, C. gentilis, C. glandicolor (neotypified), C. pseudorubricosus, and four species described as new C. caesiobrunneus, C. albogaudis, C. carabus, and C. cicindela. They are described here and their taxonomy, ecology, distribution, and relationships are discussed. In addition, a key to species of the section Brunnei is provided. A total of 77 new sequences of 11 species are published including nine type sequences. Also the taxonomic assignments of sequences in the public databases belonging to the section Brunnei are revised. 相似文献

The fruits of 10 species of Solanum sect. Acanthophora were studied. Cross and/or longitudinal and/or tangential microtome sections, stained mostly with astra blue/basic fuchsin, were made for microscopic examination. Three different kinds of cells were found in the epidermis, immediately below which a hypodermis, consisting in any of four types of structures, was always found. The mesocarp exhibits two histologically differentiated zones, an external one (formed by normal or spongy parenchyma, according to the species), and an internal one, commonly juicy, and with proliferations among the seeds. The diagnostic value of all these structures is assessed. Morpho-anatomical information is used to define fruit types beyond the berry, traditionally described for Solanum, and the probable dispersal syndrome related to them is discussed. Fruit similarities are slightly noticeable in several cases, while differences may be the result of their sexual system – which affects specially the size – and their histology, which is related to the dispersal syndrome. The comparison of our data with previous molecular phylogeny of the section suggests that a significant morphological variation is not associated with significant DNA sequence changes. 相似文献

Anthurium sect. Urospadix includes approximately 70 species differently distributed in Eastern Brazil, Western South America, and Central America. The present work studied the gynoecia of species of section Urospadix to describe their anatomical features. In all the species studied, the apical portion of the gynoecium differentiates into a stigma covered with short trichomes and an adjacent region formed by isodiametric cells. The stylar canal comprises short, unicellular secretory trichomes extending up to the ovarian aperture. Carpels are apically symplicate and basally synascidiate with a septum that does not reach the apical portion of the locule. The apical portion of the septum differentiates into long, secretory trichomes while the subapical one differentiates into the placenta. Locules are filled with mucilage. Since the epidermis of the region adjacent to the stigma, the length of the stylar portion, and the number of cell layers of the ovarian septum vary among the species studied, they may be useful for further taxonomic and systematic purposes. The present work is the first detailed report of trichome location and distribution on the gynoecia of Anthurium. 相似文献

Taxonomic relationships among Arachis sect. Arachis species as revealed by AFLP markers. 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Cultivated peanut, Arachis hypogaea L., is a tetraploid (2n = 4x = 40) species thought to be of allopolyploid origin. Its closest relatives are the diploid (2n = 2x = 20) annual and perennial species included with it in Arachis sect. Arachis. Species in section Arachis represent an important source of novel alleles for improvement of cultivated peanut. A better understanding of the level of speciation and taxonomic relationships between taxa within section Arachis is a prerequisite to the effective use of this secondary gene pool in peanut breeding programs. The AFLP technique was used to determine intra- and interspecific relationships among and within 108 accessions of 26 species of this section. A total of 1328 fragments were generated with 8 primer combinations. From those, 239 bands ranging in size from 65 to 760 bp were scored as binary data. Genetic distances among accessions ranged from 0 to 0.50. Average distances among diploid species (0.30) were much higher than that detected between tetraploid species (0.05). Cluster analysis using different methods and principal component analysis were performed. The resulting grouping of accessions and species supports previous taxonomic classifications and genome designations. Based on genetic distances and cluster analysis, A-genome accessions KG 30029 (Arachis helodes) and KSSc 36009 (Arachis simpsonii) and B-genome accession KGBSPSc 30076 (A. ipaensis) were the most closely related to both Arachis hypogaea and Arachis monticola. This finding suggests their involvement in the evolution of the tetraploid peanut species. 相似文献

Fingerprints of phenolic compounds of leaf extracts of eleven pine species have been made by paper chromatography and HPLC. Paepalanthus sect. Diphyomene has inflorescences arranged in umbels. The underlying bauplan seems however to be more complex and composed of several distinct subunits. Despite appearing superficially very similar, the morphology and anatomy of the inflorescences can supply useful information for the understanding of the phylogeny and taxonomy of the group. Inflorescences of Paepalanthus erectifolius, Paepalanthus flaccidus, Paepalanthus giganteus, and Paepalanthus polycladus were analyzed in regard to branching pattern and anatomy. In P. erectifolius, P. giganteus and P. polycladus the structure is a tribotryum, with terminal dibotryum, and with pherophylls bearing lateral dibotrya. In P. flaccidus, the inflorescence is a pleiobotryum, with terminal subunit, and without pherophylls. Secondary inflorescences may occur in all species without regular pattern. Especially when grown in sites without a pronounced seasonality, the distinction between enrichment zone (part of the same inflorescence) and new inflorescences may be obscured. The main anatomical features supplying diagnostic and phylogenetic information are as follows: (a) in the elongated axis, the thickness of the epidermal cell walls and the cortex size; (b) in the bracts, the quantity of parenchyma cells (c) in the scapes, the shape and the presence of a pith tissue. Therefore, P. sect. Diphyomene can be divided in two groups; group A is represented by P. erectifolius, P. giganteus and P. polycladus, and group B is represented by P. flaccidus. The differentiation is based in both, inflorescence structure and anatomy. Group A presents a life cycle and anatomical features similar to species of Actinocephalus. Molecular trees also point that these two groups are closely related. However, inflorescence morphology and blooming sequence are different. Species of group B present an inflorescence structure and anatomical features shared with many genera and species in Eriocaulaceae. The available molecular and morphology based phylogenies still do not allow a precise allocation of the group in the bulk of basal species of Paepalanthus collocated in P. sect. Variabiles. The characters described and used here supply however important information towards this goal. 相似文献

The present phytochemical investigation on Salacia amplifolia led to the isolations of 13 triterpenes, including quinonemethides, friedelanes, oleananes and ursanes triterpenes, three simple phenolics, one polyol and one chromanone. All of them were isolated from this plant for the first time. The presences of quinonemethide triterpenoids might be employed as the common characteristic constituents of both Hippocrateaceae and Celastraceae families. 相似文献

The lipophilic extract of the aerial parts of Anthemis wiedemanniana Fisch. & Mey, a Turkish endemic species, was investigated. In addition to one new natural product, namely 3,4,4-trimethyl-6-carboxy-cyclohex-2-ene-1-one, five known sesquiterpene lactones, five methylated flavonoids, one simple phenolic derivative and one nor-isoprenoid were isolated.
