The effects of a low temperature (13 degrees C) treatment known to provide protection against sulphur dioxide (SO2) injury were assessed on leaf lipid composition in two cultivars of Coleus blumei Benth, found previously to differ in sensitivity to SO2 and other environmental stresses. After 5 days growth at 13 degrees C, there were significant differences in membrane lipid fatty acid composition as well as in free fatty acid (FFA) levels between SO2-sensitive 'Buckley Supreme' ('BS') and SO2-insensitive 'Marty' ('M'). Molecular species of chloroplast galactolipids in 'M' contained increased levels of linolenic acid (18:3). In the leaf FFA pools, the saturated components, palmitic (16:0) and stearic (18:0) acids, were predominant at 20 degrees C. After temperature hardening at 13 degrees C, the total amount of FFAs decreased in 'M' but increased in 'BS.' These modifications in lipid composition suggest an additional mechanism for cultivar differences in tolerance to SO2 and other stressors in coleus.  相似文献

A profile of free fatty acid (FFA) specificity in Acanthamoeba castellanii mitochondrial uncoupling is described. The FFA uncoupling specificity was observed as different abilities to stimulate resting respiration, to decrease resting membrane potential, and to decrease oxidative phosphorylation efficiency. Tested unsaturated FFA (C18–20) were more effective as uncouplers and protonophores when compared to tested saturated FFA (C8–18), with palmitic acid (C16:0) as the most active. As FFA efficiency in mitochondrial uncoupling is related to physiological changes of fatty acid composition (and thereby FFA availability) during growth of amoeba cells, it could be a way to regulate the activity of an uncoupling protein and thereby the efficiency of oxidative phosphorylation during a cell life of this unicellular organism. Spontaneously hypertensive (SHR) and normotensive rats were fed a diet supplemented with linseed oil or cod liver oil for 22 weeks. The most remarkable finding was an extreme fall of linoleic acid in lipids from renal medulla after cod liver oil supplementation. In free fatty acids (FFA) eicosatrienoic acid (C2): 3n-9) appeared increased as a sign of essential fatty acid (EFA) deficiency.  相似文献

Investigated were the changes in fatty acid composition, oxidation and enzymatic deterioration of lipids in frozen (−30°C) fish fillets from the Persian Gulf. The narrow barred Spanish mackerel ( Scomberomorus commersoni ) and white cheek shark ( Carcharhinus dussumieri ) were tested with storage times of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 months at −18°C. Statistical results showed that the major fatty acids among the saturated and monounsaturated fatty acids of each fish species were palmitic (C16:0) and oleic (C18:1n-9) acids, respectively. Both linoleic acid (C18:2n-6) and arachidonic acid (AA) (C20:4n-6) were predominant in total n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids in both mackerel and shark. The EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid; C20:5 n-3) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid; C22:6 n-3) acids were the major fatty acids among total n-3 acids in both fishes. During frozen storage, the PUFA (40.1 and 23.94%), n-3 (48 and 42.83%), ω 3/ ω 6 (41.36 and 50%), PUFA/SFA (56 and 42.23%) and EPA + DHA/C16 (55.55 and 46.66%) contents decreased in S. commersoni and C. dussumieri , respectively. Also peroxide, thiobarbituric acid (TBA) and free fatty acid (FFA) values significantly increased (P < 0.01) with the time of storage.  相似文献

The effects of sera from 23 patients with acute lymphocytic leukemia on mitogen-induced transformation of normal human lymphocytes were examined. All sera (100%) at diagnosis and 70% of those obtained during the induction of remission demonstrated inhibition of mitogen-induced lymphocyte transformation as evidenced by decreased uptake of [3H]thymidine. The inhibition could not be overcome by an increase in the mitogen concentration. Eighteen sera demonstrating a mean inhibition of 44.2% had elevated levels of free fatty acids (FFA) compared with five sera showing no inhibition (p value = 0.001). Inhibition, within the range produced by leukemic sera, could be achieved by the purified methyl esters of linoleic and linolenic acid in this system. Flow cytometric analysis of mitogen-induced cycling of normal human lymphocytes suggested that deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) replication was inhibited by leukemic sera containing elevated levels of FFA after the G1 phase of cell cycling. Similar inhibition could be achieved by the methyl ester of linolenic acid in this system. Gas chromatographic analysis revealed that sera demonstrating inhibition contained linolenic (C18:3) acid (p value = 0.015), and the majority showed one or more of the following: 1) a concentration of oleic (C18:1) acid greater than 2 standard deviations (SD) above the mean of the control leukemic sera (i.e., those not demonstrating inhibition); 2) an arachidonic (C20:4) to C18:1 ratio that is reduced to greater than 2 SD below the mean of the control group; or 3) the presence of an unexpected fatty acid fraction. The data raise the question of an influence of FFA and, specifically, an interplay of unsaturated fatty acids on immune function during the natural history of acute lymphocytic leukemia.  相似文献

Background  

Although unsaturated fatty acids such as eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA, C20:5n-3), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA, C22:6n-3) and arachidonic acid (ARA, C20:4n-6), collectively known as the highly unsaturated fatty acids (HUFA), play pivotal roles in vertebrate reproduction, very little is known about their synthesis in the ovary. The zebrafish (Danio rerio) display capability to synthesize all three HUFA via pathways involving desaturation and elongation of two precursors, the linoleic acid (LA, C18:2n-6) and linolenic acid (LNA, C18:3n-3). As a prerequisite to gain full understanding on the importance and regulation of ovarian HUFA synthesis, we described here the mRNA expression pattern of two enzymes; desaturase (fadsd6) and elongase (elovl5), involved in HUFA biosynthesis pathway, in different zebrafish ovarian follicle stages. Concurrently, the fatty acid profile of each follicle stage was also analyzed.  相似文献

In hypoxic or ischemic states the release of fatty acids is proposed to have several harmful effects on brain structure and function. We therefore decided to study brain FFA in a simple, clinically related animal model resembling intrauterine perinatal asphyxia (PA). Cerebral blood flow (CBF), brain fatty acids (C14:0, C16:1, C16:0, C18:1, C1 8:0, sigma C), plasma glucose, lactate, beta-hydroxybutyrate (beta-OHB), non-esterified fatty acids (NEFA) and insulin were determined in PA and compared to the normoxic state. Brain C 14:0 FFA were not significantly different from normoxic rats. Brain FFA C 16:0 were comparable between groups but significantly decreased at 20 min of PA. C 18:0 FFA showed a trend to increase with the length of PA reaching significance at 10 min of asphyxia only and were declining at 20 min, however, not significantly. Brain C 16:1 and C 18:1 FFA concentrations were comparable between groups. The parameters cerebral blood flow, glucose and lactate showed a stepwise and significant increase with the length of PA, whereas beta-HOB, NEFA and insulin showed no changes. CBF, glucose and lactate showed a strong association whereas other parameters failed to correlate with each other. Only inconsistent trends of increased brain FFA were found and the association between brain glucose and brain FFA could be ruled out. Although CBF was manifold and significantly elevated in PA, brain FFA pattern suggests that the increase of CBF is obviously not mediated by brain FFA. We conclude that FFA may not be involved in the early phase-pathogenesis of PA.  相似文献

The lipid content as well as the fatty acid pattern of triglycerides, free fatty acids (FFA), phosphatidylcholine (PC) and phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) were estimated in renal cortex and medulla of spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) and normotensive Wistar rats (WR) at 4,8,26 and 52 weeks of age. In general, the level of triglycerides in renal medulla appeared higher when compared with the cortex. On the other hand, PC and PE, increasing with age, were usually higher in the cortex. A decreased percentage of linoleic acid (LA) in triglycerides, of arachidonic acid (AA) in PC and of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) in triglycerides, FFA, PC and PE could be found in the kidneys of SHR at 8 weeks of age, i.e. during the development of hypertension. This was accompanied with a rise of AA in FFA of SHR at 8 weeks of age, which occurred with delay in WR (at 26 weeks of age). From the data presented it can be concluded that systematic alterations in the availability of individual polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) in various renal lipids might be related to the onset of hypertension in SHR which should be elucidated in more detail.  相似文献

The effect of recalcitrant hydrocarbons on the fatty acid profile from leaf, basal corm, and roots of Cyperus laxus plants cultivated in greenhouse phytoremediation systems of soils from aged oil spill-impacted sites containing from 16 to 340 g/Kg total hydrocarbons (THC) was assessed to investigate if this is a C18:3 species and if the hydrocarbon removal during the phytoremediation process has a relationship with the fatty acid profile of this plant. The fatty acid profile was specific to each vegetative organ and was strongly affected by the hydrocarbons level in the impacted sites. Leaf extracts of plants from uncontaminated soil produced palmitic acid (C16), octadecanoic acid (C18:0), unsaturated oleic acids (C18:1-C18:3), and unsaturated eichosanoic (C20:2-C20:3) acids with a noticeable absence of the unsaturated hexadecatrienoic acid (C16:3); this finding demonstrates, for the first time, that C. laxus is a C18:3 plant. In plants from the phytoremediation systems, the total fatty acid contents in the leaf and the corm were negatively affected by the hydrocarbons presence; however, the effect was positive in root. Interestingly, under contaminated conditions, unusual fatty acids such as odd numbered carbons (C15, C17, C21, and C23) and uncommon unsaturated chains (C20:3n6 and C20:4) were produced together with a remarkable quantity of C22:2 and C24:0 chains in the corm and the leaf. These results demonstrate that weathered hydrocarbons may drastically affect the lipidic composition of C. laxus at the fatty acid level, suggesting that this species adjusts the cover lipid composition in its vegetative organs, mainly in roots, in response to the weathered hydrocarbon presence and uptake during the phytoremediation process.  相似文献

The lipid composition of very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) in plasma is crucial for human health. A pre-requisite for the alteration of VLDL composition is a co-ordinated understanding of the complex interactions in VLDL assembly. In order to determine the potential effects of changes in substrate availability on VLDL lipid composition, we constructed, parameterized and evaluated a mechanistic mathematical model of the biosynthesis of triglycerides, phospholipids, and cholesterol esters and the assembly of VLDL in human hepatocytes. Using published data on human liver metabolism, the model was also used to provide insight into the complex process of lipid metabolism and to estimate the affinities of different liver enzymes for different fatty acids (FA). For example, we found that Delta6-desaturase is 19 times more selective for C18:3n-3 than C18:2n-6, stearoyl-CoA-desaturase is 2.7 times more selective for C18:0 than C16:0, Delta5-desaturase desaturates C20:4n-3 preferentially over C20:3n-6 and FA elongase preferentially elongates C18:3n-6. The model was also used to predict the plasma free fatty acid (FFA) composition required to generate a prescribed change in plasma lipoprotein FA composition. Furthermore, the model was tested against a published human feeding trial that investigated the effect of changes in dietary FA composition on human plasma lipid FA composition. The model is a useful tool for predicting the effect of changes in plasma FFA composition on plasma lipoprotein lipid FA composition.  相似文献

A set of 20 Mollicutes strains representing different lines of descent, including the type species of the genus Mycoplasma, Mycoplasma mycoides, Acholeplasma laidlawii and a strain of Mesoplasma, were subjected to polar lipid and fatty acid analyses in order to evaluate their suitability for classification purposes within members of this group. Complex polar lipid and fatty acid profiles were detected for each examined strain. All strains contained the polar lipids phosphocholine-6'-alpha-glucopyranosyl-(1'-3)-1, 2-diacyl-glycerol (MfGL-I), 1-O-alkyl/alkenyl-2-O-acyl-glycero-3-phosphocholine (MfEL), sphingomyelin (SphM), 1-O-alkyl/alkenyl-glycero-3-phosphocholine (lysoMfEL), the unknown aminophospholipid APL1 and the cholesterol Chol2. A total of 19 strains revealed the presence of phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) and/or phosphatidylglycerol (PG), and the presence of diphosphatidylglycerol (DPG) was detected in 13 strains. The unknown aminolipid AL1 was found in the extracts of 17 strains. Unbranched saturated and unsaturated compounds predominated in the fatty acid profiles. Major fatty acids were usually C16:0, C18:0, C18:1 omega9c and 'Summed feature 5' (C18:2 omega6, 9c/C18:0 anteiso). Our results demonstrated that members of the M. mycoides cluster showed rather homogenous polar lipid and fatty acid profiles. In contrast, each of the other strains was characterized by a unique polar lipid profile and significant quantitative differences in the presence of certain fatty acids. These results indicate that analyses of both polar lipid and fatty acid profiles could be a useful tool for classification of mycoplasmas.  相似文献

We have investigated the effects of the specific platelet-activating factor (PAF; 1-alkyl-2-acetyl-glycerophosphocholine) antagonist BN52021 on free fatty acid (FFA) and diacylglycerol (DG) accumulation and on the loss of fatty acids from phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate (PIP2) in mouse brain. Mice were pretreated with BN52021 (10 mg/kg, i.p.) 30 min before electroconvulsive shock (ECS) or postdecapitation ischemia. These procedures cause rapid breakdown of PIP2 and accumulation of FFA and DG. Lipid extracts were prepared from microwave-fixed cerebrum and fractionated by TLC, and the fatty acid methyl esters were prepared by methanolysis and quantified by capillary GLC. In saline or vehicle (dimethyl sulfoxide)-treated mice, ECS caused marked accumulation of FFA and DG and loss of mainly stearic (18:0) and arachidonic (20:4) acids from PIP2. BN52021 pretreatment of ECS-treated mice decreased the accumulation of free palmitic (16:0), 18:0, 20:4, and docosahexaenoic (22:6) acids with no effect on the fatty acids in DG or the loss of PIP2. BN52021 had no effect on basal levels of FFA, DG, or PIP2. One minute of postdecapitation ischemia induced PIP2 loss and accumulation of FFA and DG. BN52021 attenuated the accumulation of free 20:4 and 22:6 acids, decreased the content of oleic (18:1), 20:4, and 22:6 acids in DG, but had no effect on PIP2 loss. These data indicate that BN52021 reduces the injury-induced activation of phospholipase A2 and lysophospholipase, which mediate the accumulation of FFA in brain, while having a negligible effect on phospholipase C-mediated degradation of PIP2.  相似文献

The influence of the chain length of the free fatty acid (FFA) in a stratum corneum (SC) lipid model membrane composed of N-(alpha-hydroxyoctadecanoyl)-phytosphingosine (CER [AP]), cholesterol (Ch), FFA and cholesterol sulphate (ChS) was investigated by neutron diffraction. The internal nanostructure of the SC lipid membrane in addition to the water distribution function was determined via calculation of the neutron scattering length density profile (Fourier profile). The Fourier profiles of the studied SC model membranes revealed that such membranes have a repeat distance approximately equal to the membrane thickness. Increasing the chain length of the FFA in the CER[AP] based model membrane did not cause an alteration of the internal nanostructure but led to a decrease in the membrane repeat distance from 45.6 A (palmitic acid, C16:0) to 43.7 A (cerotic acid, C26:0) due to a partial interdigitation of the FFA chains. Ceramide [AP] forces the long chain fatty acids to incorporate into the unchanged spacing of the bilayer, thereby obligating the FFA protrude partly through opposing leaflet. Furthermore, the longer chained free fatty acids tend to form a new separate so-called "fatty acid rich phase". Therefore, the elongation of the chain length of the FFA decreases the solubility of the FFA in the SC model membrane based on CER[AP].  相似文献

Both the content and composition of polar and neutral lipids from the mitochondrial fraction of ovarian full-grown Bufo arenarum oocytes were analysed in the present study. Triacylglycerols (TAG) represent 33% of the total lipids, followed by phosphatidylcholine (PC), free fatty acids (FFA) and phosphatidylethanolamine (PE). Diphosphatidylglycerol (DPG) or cardiolipin, a specific component of the inner mitochondrial membrane, represents about 4% of the total lipid content. Palmitic (16:0) and arachidonic (20:4n6) acids are the most abundant fatty acids in PC and PE, respectively. DPG is enriched in fatty acids with carbon chain lengths of 18, the principal component being linoleic acid. In phosphatidylinositol (PI), 20:4n6 and stearic acid (18:0) represent about 72 mol% of the total acyl group level. The main fatty acids in TAG are linoleic (18:2), oleic (18:1), and palmitic acids. The fatty acid composition of FFA and diacylglycerols (DAG) is similar, 16:0 being the most abundant acyl group. PE is the most unsaturated lipid and sphingomyelin (SM) has the lowest unsaturation index.  相似文献

Seven strains of marine microbes producing a significant amount of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA; C22:6, n-3) were screened from seawater collected in coastal areas of Japan and Fiji. They accumulate their respective intermediate fatty acids in addition to DHA. There are 5 kinds of polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) profiles which can be described as (1) DHA/docosapentaenoic acid (DPA; C22:5, n-6), (2) DHA/DPA/eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA; C20:5, n-3), (3) DHA/EPA, (4) DHA/DPA/EPA/arachidonic acid (AA; C20:4, n-6), and (5) DHA/DPA/EPA/AA/docosatetraenoic acid (C22:4, n-6). These isolates are proved to be new thraustochytrids by their specific insertion sequences in the 18S rRNA genes. The phylogenetic tree constructed by molecular analysis of 18S rRNA genes from the isolates and typical thraustochytrids shows that strains with the same PUFA profile form each monophyletic cluster. These results suggest that the C20-22 PUFA profile may be applicable as an effective characteristic for grouping thraustochytrids.  相似文献

Six Orientia strains including 3 prototype strains such as Gilliam, Karp, and Kato, and 3 strains (Boryong, Pajoo, and Yongworl) isolated in Korea, were studied for the profiles of their cellular fatty acids. All tested strains contained octadecenoic acid C (18: 1) omega 9 c(57.3 +/- 3.5%), octadecanoic acid C (18: 0) (15.3 +/- 1.5%), and hexadecanoic acid C (16: 0) (12.7 +/- 1.7%) as major components; however, interestingly, eicosenoic acid C (20: 1) omega 9 c(2.6 +/- 0.6%) was found in all strains except the Yongworl strain. Furthermore none of the strains contained 3-hydroxy fatty acids. The ratios of total saturated fatty acid (SFA) to total unsaturated fatty acid (UFA) were within the range of 0.34 to 0.54. These results showed that the cellular fatty acid profile should provide more reliable information for the identification of these bacteria.  相似文献

Degranulation of CTL stimulated by alloantigen-bearing target cells is shown to be inhibited by short term exposure to low concentrations of long chain cis unsaturated free fatty acids (FFA), whereas saturated FFA have no effect. The Ag-specific (TCR mediated) stimulation of cloned murine CTL was monitored by changes in intracellular calcium concentrations [( Ca2+]i) using the fluorescence indicator acetoxymethylester of fura-2 and by degranulation as measured by the release of BLT-esterase. Treatment of the CTL cells with any of the physiologically important FFA; oleic (18:1), linoleic (18:2), linolenic (18:3), or arachidonic (20:4) acid, at concentrations between 1 and 10 microM inhibits the target cell-mediated rise in [Ca2+]i which occurs within seconds of stimulation and the release of BLT-esterase, which occurs over a period of 1 to 3 h. These inhibitory effects are observed within seconds to minutes of FFA addition. Inhibition can be reversed by treating cells with fatty acid free BSA and, in agreement with our previous studies, indicates that the effects of FFA are due to physical perturbations of cellular components. To determine the locus of this perturbation, the effect of FFA on the lipid order of CTL plasma membrane was determined using fluorescence polarization of the membrane impermeable probe trimethylammoniumdiphenylhexatriene. Cis unsaturated FFA were found to disorder the lipid acyl chains and the degree of disorder was found to increase with the degree of cis unsaturation. These results, together with the previous studies, suggest that inhibition results from a physical perturbation of plasma membrane lipid order. Moreover, because degranulation requires elevated levels of [Ca2+]i, it is likely that inhibition of degranulation results from a FFA-induced decrease in Ca2+ permeability through the membrane.  相似文献

The fatty acid composition of chicken’s meat is largely influenced by dietary lipids, which are often used as supplements to increase dietary caloric density. The underlying key metabolites and pathways influenced by dietary oils remain poorly known in chickens. The objective of this study was to explore the underlying metabolic mechanisms of how diets supplemented with mixed or a single oil with distinct fatty acid composition influence the fatty acid profile in breast muscle of Qingyuan chickens. Birds were fed a corn-soybean meal diet supplemented with either soybean oil (control, CON) or equal amounts of mixed edible oils (MEO; soybean oil : lard : fish oil : coconut oil = 1 : 1 : 0.5 : 0.5) from 1 to 120 days of age. Growth performance and fatty acid composition of muscle lipids were analysed. LC-MS was applied to investigate the effects of CON v. MEO diets on lipid-related metabolites in the muscle of chickens at day 120. Compared with the CON diet, chickens fed the MEO diet had a lower feed conversion ratio (P < 0.05), higher proportions of lauric acid (C12:0), myristic acid (C14:0), palmitoleic acid (C16:1n-7), oleic acid (C18:1n-9), EPA (C20:5n-3) and DHA (C22:6n-3), and a lower linoleic acid (C18:2n-6) content in breast muscle (P < 0.05). Muscle metabolome profiling showed that the most differentially abundant metabolites are phospholipids, including phosphatidylcholines (PC) and phosphatidylethanolamines (PE), which enriched the glycerophospholipid metabolism (P < 0.05). These key differentially abundant metabolites – PC (14:0/20:4), PC (18:1/14:1), PC (18:0/14:1), PC (18:0/18:4), PC (20:0/18:4), PE (22:0/P-16:0), PE (24:0/20:5), PE (22:2/P-18:1), PE (24:0/18:4) – were closely associated with the contents of C12:0, C14:0, DHA and C18:2n-6 in muscle lipids (P < 0.05). The content of glutathione metabolite was higher with MEO than CON diet (P < 0.05). Based on these results, it can be concluded that the diet supplemented with MEO reduced the feed conversion ratio, enriched the content of n-3 fatty acids and modified the related metabolites (including PC, PE and glutathione) in breast muscle of chickens.  相似文献

Lipoprotein lipase (LPL) releases fatty acids from triglyceride-rich lipoproteins for use in cellular metabolic reactions. How this hydrolysis, which occurs at the vascular endothelium, is regulated is poorly understood. A fatty acid feedback system has been proposed by which accumulation of fatty acids impedes LPL-catalyzed hydrolysis and dissociates the enzyme from its endothelial binding sites. We examined this hypothesis in humans who were subjected to an oral fat tolerance test of a mixed-meal type. Plasma triglycerides, free fatty acids, and LPL activity were measured before and repeatedly during a 12-h period after intake of the fat load. Since soybean oil with a high content of linoleic fatty acid was the source of triglycerides, a distinction could be made between endogenous free fatty acids (FFA) and FFA derived directly from lipolysis of postprandial triglyceride-rich lipoproteins. Mean LPL activity was almost doubled (P less than 0.01) 6 h after intake of the oral fat load. The rise in LPL activity was accompanied by an increase of plasma triglycerides and linoleic free fatty acids (18:2 FFA), but not of total plasma FFA, which instead displayed a heterogeneous pattern with essentially unchanged mean levels. The postprandial response of LPL activity largely paralleled the postprandial responses of 18:2 FFA and triglycerides. The highest degree of parallelism was seen between postprandial 18:2 FFA and LPL activity levels. Furthermore, the integrated response (area under the curve, AUC) for plasma measurements of LPL correlated with the AUC for 18:2 FFA (r = 0.40, P less than 0.05), but not with the AUC for plasma triglycerides (r = 0.21, ns). The high degree of parallelism and significant correlation between postprandial plasma LPL activity and 18:2 FFA support the hypothesis of fatty acid control of endothelial LPL during physiological conditions in humans.  相似文献

The major fatty acids were C14:0, C16:0, C18:0 saturated, C16:1 and C18:1 monoenoic series, with or without C18 polyunsaturated acids (C18:2 and C18:3). In Torulopsis glabrata and Saccharomyces cerevisiae the C18:2 and C18:3 acids were not found, but the C10:0 and C12:0 acids were detected in S. cerevisiae. These results indicated that the Candida genus could be distinguished from Torulopsis and Saccharomyces genera by GLC analysis of fatty acids. Quantitative differences in the fatty acid composition between cells grown at high temperature (37 degrees C) and low temperature (25 degrees C) were found generally in Candida species, and the amounts of C18 polyunsaturated acids (C18:2 and C18:3) increased in the cells grown at 25 degrees C. Each Candida species showed a characteristic profile in fatty acid composition. Determination of the cellular fatty acid composition in Candida species is likely to be useful for the grouping or chemotaxonomy of newer isolates of Candida species.  相似文献
