High-quality NaYF4:Yb/Er/Gd up-conversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) were first synthesized by a solvothermal method using rare earth stearate, sodium fluoride, ethanol, water, and oleic acid as precursors. Doped Gd3+ ions can promote the transition of NaYF4 from cubic to hexagonal phase, shorten the reaction time, and reduce the reaction temperature without reducing the luminescence intensity of NaYF4:Yb/Er UCNPs. X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and luminescence spectroscopy were applied to characterize the UCNPs. The nanoparticles exhibited small size and excellent green up-conversion photoluminescence, making them suitable for biological applications. After the surfaces of NaYF4:Yb/Er/Gd UCNPs were modified with amino groups through the Stöber method, they could be brought close enough to the analytically important protein called R-phycoerythrin (R-PE) bearing multiple carboxyl groups so that energy transfer could occur. A luminescence resonance energy transfer (LRET) system was developed using NaYF4:Yb/Er/Gd UCNPs as an energy donor and R-PE as an energy acceptor. As a result, a detection limit of R-PE of 0.5 μg/ml was achieved by the LRET system with a relative standard deviation of 2.0%. Although this approach was first used successfully to detect R-PE, it can also be extended to the detection of other biological molecules.  相似文献

Upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) with sodium yttrium fluoride, NaYF4 (host lattice) doped with Yb3+ (sensitizer) and Er3+ (activator) were synthesized via hydrothermal route incorporating polyethyleneimine (PEI) for their long‐term stability in water. The cationic PEI‐modified UCNPs with diameter 20 ± 4 nm showed a zeta potential value of +36.5 mV and showed an intense, visible red luminescence and low‐intensity green emission with 976 nm laser excitation. The particles proven to be nontoxic to endothelial cells, with a 3‐(4,5‐dimethylthiazol‐2yl)‐2,5‐diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay, showing 90% to 100% cell viability, across a wide range of UCNP concentrations (0.3 ng/mL‐0.3 mg/mL) were used in multiphoton imaging. Multiphoton cellular imaging and emission spectroscopy data reported here prove that the UCNPs dispersed in cell culture media are predominantly concentrated in the cytoplasm than the cell nucleus. The energy transfer from PEI‐coated UCNPs to surrounding media for red luminescence in the biological system is also highlighted with spectroscopic measurements. Results of this study propose that UCNPs can, therefore, be used for cytoplasm selective imaging together with multiphoton dyes (eg, 4′,6‐diamidino‐2‐phenylindole (DAPI)) that are selective to cell nucleus.   相似文献

In this study, Bi3+ incorporation in NaYbF4:Er lattice and its influence on upconversion luminescence properties have been investigated in detail using techniques such as temperature‐dependent luminescence, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X‐ray diffraction (XRD). The study was carried out to develop phosphors with improved upconversion luminescence. From photoluminescence and lifetime measurements it is inferred that luminescence intensity from NaYbF4:Er increases with Bi3+ addition. The sample containing 50 at.% Bi3+ ions exhibited optimum upconversion luminescence. Increased distance between Yb3+–Yb3+ and Er3+–Er3+ due to Bi3+ incorporation into the lattice and associated decrease in the extent of dipolar interaction/self‐quenching are responsible for increase in lifetime values and luminescence intensities from Er3+ ions. Incorporation of Bi3+ into NaYbF4:Er lattice reduced self‐quenching among Yb3+–Yb3+ions and this facilitated energy transfer from Yb3+ to Er3+. This situation also explains decrease in the extent of temperature‐assisted quenching of emission from thermally coupled 2H11/2 and 4S3/2 levels of Er3+. Based on Rietveld refinement of XRD patterns it was confirmed that a maximum of 10 at.% of Bi3+added was incorporated into the NaYbF4:Er lattice and the remaining complex co‐exists as a BiOF phase. These results are of significant interest in the area of development of phosphors based on Yb3+–Er3+ upconversion luminescence.  相似文献

In this work, a biosensor based on luminescence resonance energy transfer (LRET) from NaYF4:Yb,Tm upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) to SYBR Green I has been developed. The aptamers are covalently linked to UCNPs and hybridized with their complementary strands. The subsequent addition of SYBR Green allows SYBR Green I to insert into the formed double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) duplex and brings the energy donor and acceptor into close proximity, leading to the fluorescence of UCNPs transferred to SYBR Green I. When excited at 980 nm, the UCNPs emit luminescence at 477 nm, and this energy is transferred to SYBR Green I, which emits luminescence at 530 nm. In the presence of oxytetracycline (OTC), the aptamers prefer to bind to its corresponding analyte and dehybridize with the complementary DNA. This dehybridization leads to the liberation of SYBR Green I, which distances SYBR Green I from the UCNPs and recovers the UCNPs' luminescence. Under optimal conditions, a linear calibration is obtained between the ratio of I530 to I477 nm (I530/I477) and the OTC concentration, which ranges from 0.1 to 10 ng/ml with a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.054 ng/ml.  相似文献

Delayed fluorescence (luminescence) from spinach chloroplasts, induced by short saturating flashes, was studied in the temperature region between 0 and ?40 °C. At these temperatures, in contrast to what is observed at room temperature, luminescence at 40 ms after a flash was strongly dependent, with period four, on the number of preilluminating flashes (given at room temperature, before cooling). At ?35 °C luminescence of chloroplasts preilluminated with two flashes (the optimal preillumination) was about 15 times larger than that of dark-adapted chloroplasts. The intensity of luminescence obtained with preilluminated chloroplasts increased steeply below ?10 °C, presumably partly due to accumulation of reduced acceptor (Q?), and reached a maximum at ?35 °C.In the presence of 50 mM NH4Cl the temperature optimum was at ?15 °C; at this temperature luminescence was increased by NH4Cl; at temperatures below ?20 °C luminescence at 40 ms was decreased by NH4Cl. At room temperature a strongly enhanced 40-ms luminescence was observed after the third and following flashes. The results indicate that both the S2 to S3 and the S3 to S4 conversion are affected by NlH4Cl.Inhibitors of Q? reoxidation, like 3-(3, 4-dichlorophenyl)-1, 1- dimethylurea, did only slightly affect the preillumination dependence of luminescence at sub-zero temperatures if they were added after the preillumination. This indicates that these substances by themselves do not accelerate the deactivation of S2 and S3.  相似文献

(Ca1‐xEux)WO4 (x = 0–21 mol%) phosphors were prepared using the classical solid‐state reaction method. The influence of Eu3+ ion doping on lattice structure was observed using powder X‐ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Furthermore, under this influence, the luminescence properties of all samples were analyzed. The results clearly illustrated that the element europium was successfully incorporated into the CaWO4 lattice with a scheelite structure in the form of a Eu3+ ion, which introduced a slight lattice distortion into the CaWO4 matrix. These lattice distortions had no effect on phase purity, but had regular effects on the intrinsic luminescence of the matrix and the f–f excitation transitions of Eu3+ activators. When the Eu3+ concentration was increased to 21 mol%, a local luminescence centre of [WO4]2? groups was detected in the matrix and manifested as the decay curves of [WO4]2? groups and luminescence changed from single exponential to double exponential fitting. Furthermore, the excitation transitions of Eu3+ between different energy levels (such as 7F05L6, 7F05D2) also produced interesting changes. Based on analysis of photoluminescence spectra and the chromaticity coordinates in this study, it could be verified that the nonreversing energy transfer of [WO4]2?→Eu3+ was efficient and incomplete.  相似文献

Two synthesis routes, solid‐state reaction and precipitation reaction, were employed to prepare BaSiO3:Eu2+ phosphors in this study. Discrepancies in the luminescence green emission at 505 nm for the solid‐state reaction method sample and in the yellow emission at 570 nm for the sample prepared by the precipitation reaction method, were observed respectively. A detail investigation about the discrepant luminescence of BaSiO3:Eu2+ phosphors was performed by evaluation of X‐ray diffraction (XRD), photoluminescence (PL)/photoluminescence excitation (PLE), decay time and thermal quenching properties. The results showed that the yellow emission was generated from the BaSiO3:Eu2+ phosphor, while the green emission was ascribed to a small amount of Ba2SiO4:Eu2+ compound that was present in the solid‐state reaction sample. This work clarifies the luminescence properties of Eu2+ ions in BaSiO3 and Ba2SiO4 hosts.  相似文献

A novel fluorescent probe‐based naphthalene Schiff, 1‐(C2‐glucosyl‐ylimino‐methyl)‐naphthalene‐2‐ol (L) was synthesized by coupling d ‐glucosamine hydrochloride with 2‐hydroxy‐1‐naphthaldehyde. It exhibited excellent selectivity and highly sensitivity for Al3+ in ethanol with a strong fluorescence response, while other common metal ions such as Pb2+, Mg2+, Cu2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cd2+, Fe2+, Mn2+, Hg2+, Li+, Na+, K+, Fe3+, Cr3+, Zn2+, Ag+, Ba2+ and Ca2+ did not cause the same fluorescence response. The probe selectively bound Al3+ with a binding constant (Ka) of 5.748 × 103 M?1 and a lowest detection limit (LOD) of 4.08 nM. Moreover, the study found that the fluorescence of the L ? Al3+ complex could be quenched after addition of F? in the same medium, while other anions, including Cl?, Br?, I?, NO2?, NO3?, ClO4?, CO32?, HCO3?, SO42?, HSO4?, CH3COO?, PO43?, HPO42?, S2? and S2O32? had nearly no influence on probe behaviour. Binding of the [L ? Al3+] complex to a F? anion was established by different fluorescence titration studies, with a detection limit of 3.2 nM in ethanol. The fluorescent probe was also successfully applied in the imaging detection of Al3+ and F? in living cells.  相似文献

A solid‐state reaction route‐based LiTi2 ? xEux(PO4)3 was phosphor synthesized for the first time to evaluate its luminescence performance by excitation, emission and lifetime (τ) measurements. The LiTi2 ? xEux(PO4)3 phosphor was excited at λexci. = 397 nm to give an intense orange–red (597 nm) emission attributed to the 5D07F1 magnetic dipole (ΔJ = ±1) transition and red (616 nm) emission (5D07F2), which is an electric dipole (ΔJ = ±2) transition of the Eu3+ ion. Beside this, excitation and emission spectra of host LiTi2(PO4)3 powder were also reported. The effect of Eu3+ concentration on luminescence characteristics was explained from emission and lifetime profiles. Concentration quenching in the LiTi2 ? xEux(PO4)3 phosphor was studied from the Dexter's model. Dipole–quadrupole interaction is found to be responsible for energy transfer among Eu3+ ions in the host lattice. The LiTi2 ? xEux(PO4)3 phosphor displayed a reddish‐orange colour realized from a CIE chromaticity diagram. We therefore suggest that this new phosphor could be used as an optical material of technological importance in the field of display devices. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

CaSnO3:Bi3+ blue‐emitting phosphor was synthesized using a high‐temperature solid‐state reaction method in air. The crystal structures and luminescence properties were investigated. A broad emission band peaking at ~448 nm upon excitation at 262 and 308 nm was observed in the range 330–680 nm at room temperature due to 3P1 → 1S0 transition of the Bi3+ ion. The chromaticity coordinate was (0.1786, 0.1665). The optimal Bi3+ ion concentration was ~0.6 mol% in CaSnO3:Bi3+ phosphor. The emission spectrum of CaSnO3:Bi3+ phosphor showed a blue‐shift with increasing temperature from 50 to 300 K due to the influence of temperature on the electron transition of the Bi3+ ion. The emission intensity of CaSnO3:Bi3+ phosphor may be increased ~1.45 times by co‐doping Li+ ions as a charge compensator and fluxing agent. The luminescence mechanism is explained by a configurational coordinate diagram of Bi3+ ion in CaSnO3:Bi3+ phosphor.  相似文献

Under a 980‐nm excitation, the up‐conversion (UC) spectra of LuNbO4:Yb3+,Tm3+ powders exhibited predominantly near‐infrared bands (~805 nm) of Tm3+ through an energy transfer process from Yb3+ to Tm3+. Regarding the down‐conversion (DC) luminescence of the powders, the photoluminescence excitation spectra consisted of a broad charge transfer band (270 nm) due to [NbO4]3? and sharp band (360 nm) of Tm3+, while the corresponding emission spectra exhibited a blue emission at 458 nm. Upon substitution of Ga3+ and Ta5+ for Lu3+ and Nb5+, respectively, both UC and DC luminescence properties were significantly enhanced. For the Ga3+ substitution, the increased emission intensity could be explained by the crystal field asymmetry surrounding the Tm3+ ions induced by the large difference in ionic radius between Ga3+ and Lu3+. For the Ta5+ substitution, we believe that an M′‐LuTaO4 substructure was formed in the host, which led to the formation of a TaO6 octahedral coordination instead of a NbO4 tetrahedral coordination. Consequently, the crystal symmetry of the local structure was modified, and thus the UC and DC luminescence properties were enhanced. The dual‐mode (UC and DC) luminescence demonstrates that LuNbO4:Yb3+,Tm3+ has a great potential in the fields of temperature sensing probes, anti‐counterfeiting, and bioapplications.  相似文献

Sr3(PO4)2:Dy3+,Li+ phosphors were prepared using a simple high temperature solid method for luminescence enhancement. The structures of the as‐prepared samples agreed well with the standard phase of Sr3(PO4)2, even when Dy3+ and Li+ were introduced. Under ultraviolet excitation at 350 nm, the Sr3(PO4)2:Dy3+ sample exhibited two emission peaks at 483 nm and 580 nm, which were due to the 4F9/2 → 6H15/2 and 4F9/2 → 6H13/2 transitions of Dy3+ ions, respectively. A white light was fabricated using these two emissions from the Sr3(PO4)2:Dy3+ phosphors. The luminescence properties of Sr3(PO4)2:Dy3+,Li+ phosphors, including emission intensity and decay time, were improved remarkably with the addition of Li+ as the charge compensator, which would promote their application in near‐ultraviolet excited white‐light‐emitting diodes.  相似文献

BaGd2‐xO4:xEu3+ and Ba1‐yGd1.79‐2yEu0.21Na3yO4 phosphors were synthesized at 1300°C in air by conventional solid‐state reaction method. Phosphors were characterized by X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), photoluminescence excitation (PLE) spectra, photoluminescence (PL) spectra and thermoluminescence (TL) spectra. Optimal PL intensity for BaGd2‐xO4:xEu3+ and Ba1‐yGd1.79‐2yEu0.21Na3yO4 phosphors at 276 nm excitation were found to be x = 0.24 and y = 0.125, respectively. The PL intensity of Eu3+ emission could only be enhanced by 1.3 times with incorporation of Na+ into the BaGd2O4 host. Enhanced luminescence was attributed to the flux effect of Na+ ions. However, when BaGd2O4:Eu3+ phosphors were codoped with Na+ ions, the induced defects confirmed by TL spectra impaired the emission intensity of Eu3+ ions. A new 2,5‐diphenyl‐1,3,4‐oxadiazole‐based derivative (L) was synthesized and applied as a highly selective and sensitive fluorescent sensor for relay recognition of Cu2+ and S2? in water (Tris–HCl 10 mM, pH = 7.0) solution. L exhibits an excellent selectivity to Cu2+ over other examined metal ions with a prominent fluorescence ‘turn‐off’ at 392 nm. L interacts with Cu2+ through a 1:2 binding stoichiometry with a detection limit of 4.8 × 10–7 M. The on‐site formed L–2Cu2+ complex exhibits excellent selectivity to S2? with a fluorescence ‘off–on’ response via a Cu2+ displacement approach. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A novel multifunctional fluorescent peptide sensor based on pentapeptide dansyl‐Gly‐His‐Gly‐Gly‐Trp‐COOH (D‐P5) was designed and synthesized efficiently using Fmoc solid‐phase peptide synthesis (SPPS). This fluorescent peptide sensor shows selective and sensitive responses to Hg2+ and Cu2+ among 17 metal ions and six anions studied in N‐2‐hydroxyethylpiperazine‐N‐2‐ethane sulfonic acid (HEPES) buffer solution. The peptide probe differentiates Hg2+ and Cu2+ ions by a ‘turn‐on’ response to Hg2+ and a ‘turn‐off’ response to Cu2+. Upon addition of Hg2+ or Cu2+ ions, the sensor displayed an apparent color change that was visible under an ultraviolet lamp to the naked eye. The limits of detection (LOD) of DP‐5 were 25.0 nM for Hg2+ and 85.0 nM for Cu2+; the detection limits for Cu2+ were much lower than the drinking water maximum contaminant levels set out by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). It is noteworthy that both D‐P5‐Hg and D‐P5‐Cu systems were also used to detect S2? successfully based on the formation of ternary complexes. The LODs of D‐P5‐Hg and D‐P5‐Cu systems for S2? were 217.0 nM and 380.0 nM, respectively. Furthermore, the binding stoichiometry, binding affinity and pH sensitivity of the probe for Hg2+ and Cu2+ were investigated. This study gives new possibilities for using a short fluorescent peptide sensor for multifunctional detection, especially for anions.  相似文献

3D‐networked, ultrathin, and porous Ni3S2/CoNi2S4 on Ni foam (NF) is successfully designed and synthesized by a simple sulfidation process from 3D Ni–Co precursors. Interestingly, the edge site‐enriched Ni3S2/CoNi2S4/NF 3D‐network is realized by the etching‐like effect of S2? ions, which made the surfaces of Ni3S2/CoNi2S4/NF with a ridge‐like feature. The intriguing structural/compositional/componental advantages endow 3D‐networked‐free‐standing Ni3S2/CoNi2S4/NF electrodes better electrochemical performance with specific capacitance of 2435 F g?1 at a current density of 2 A g?1 and an excellent rate capability of 80% at 20 A g?1. The corresponding asymmetric supercapacitor achieves a high energy density of 40.0 W h kg?1 at an superhigh power density of 17.3 kW kg?1, excellent specific capacitance (175 F g?1 at 1A g?1), and electrochemical cycling stability (92.8% retention after 6000 cycles) with Ni3S2/CoNi2S4/NF as the positive electrode and activated carbon/NF as the negative electrode. Moreover, the temperature dependences of cyclic voltammetry curve polarization and specific capacitances are carefully investigated, and become more obvious and higher, respectively, with the increase of test temperature. These can be attributed to the components' synergetic effect assuring rich redox reactions, high conductivity as well as highly porous but robust architectures. This work provides a general, low‐cost route to produce high performance electrode materials for portable supercapacitor applications on a large scale.  相似文献

Four series of borosilicate glasses modified by alkali oxides and doped with Tb3+ and Sm3+ ions were prepared using the conventional melt quenching technique, with the chemical composition 74.5B2O3 + 10SiO2 + 5MgO + R + 0.5(Tb2O3/Sm2O3) [where R = 10(Li2O /Na2O/K2O) for series A and C, and R = 5(Li2O + Na2O/Li2O + K2O/K2O + Na2O) for series B and D]. The X‐ray diffraction (XRD) patterns of all the prepared glasses indicate their amorphous nature. The spectroscopic properties of the prepared glasses were studied by optical absorption analysis, photoluminescence excitation (PLE) and photoluminescence (PL) analysis. A green emission corresponding to the 5D47F5 (543 nm) transition of the Tb3+ ions was registered under excitation at 379 nm for series A and B glasses. The emission spectra of the Sm3+ ions with the series C and D glasses showed strong reddish‐orange emission at 600 nm (4G5/26H7/2) with an excitation wavelength λexci = 404 nm (6H5/24F7/2). Furthermore, the change in the luminescence intensity with the addition of an alkali oxide and combinations of these alkali oxides to borosilicate glasses doped with Tb3+ and Sm3+ ions was studied to optimize the potential alkali‐oxide‐modified borosilicate glass.  相似文献

An orange‐emitting phosphor, Eu2+‐activated LiSr4(BO3)3, was synthesized using the conventional solid‐state reaction. The photoluminescence excitation and emission spectra, and temperature dependence of the luminescence intensity of the phosphor were investigated. The results showed that LiSr4(BO3)3:Eu2+ could be efficiently excited by incident light of 250–450 nm, and emits a strong orange light. With increasing temperature, the emission bands of LiSr4(BO3)3:Eu2+ show an abnormal blue‐shift with broadening bandwidth and decreasing emission intensity. Triple whitlockite‐type structure‐based red phosphors Ca8MgBi1?x(PO4)7:xEu3+ (x = 0.10, 0.20, 0.30, 0.40, 0.50, 0.60, 0.70, 0.80 and 1.00) were synthesized by a conventional solid‐state reaction route and characterized by their X‐ray crystal structures. The X‐ray diffraction (XRD) patterns, Fourier transform infrared spectra, morphologies, photoluminescence spectra, UV/Vis reflectance spectra, decay times and the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) chromaticity coordinates of Ca8MgBi1?x(PO4)7:xEu3+ were analyzed. Eu‐doped Ca8MgBi(PO4)7 phosphors exhibited strong red luminescence with peaks at 616 nm due to the 5D07 F2 electric dipole transition of Eu3+ ions after excitation at 396 nm. The UV/Vis spectra indicated that the band gap of Ca8MgBi0.30(PO4)7:0.70Eu3+ is larger than that of Ca8MgBi(PO4)7. The phosphor developed in this study has great potential as a red‐light‐emitting phosphor for UV light‐emitting diodes. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Single crystals of KCl doped with Ce3+,Tb3+ were grown using the Bridgeman–Stockbarger technique. Thermoluminescence (TL), optical absorption, photoluminescence (PL), photo‐stimulated luminescence (PSL), and thermal‐stimulated luminescence (TSL) properties were studied after γ‐ray irradiation at room temperature. The glow curve of the γ‐ray‐irradiated crystal exhibits three peaks at 420, 470 and 525 K. F‐Light bleaching (560 nm) leads to a drastic change in the TL glow curve. The optical absorption measurements indicate that F‐ and V‐centres are formed in the crystal during γ‐ray irradiation. It was attempted to incorporate a broad band of cerium activator into the narrow band of terbium in the KCl host without a reduction in the emission intensity. Cerium co‐doped KCl:Tb crystals showed broad band emission due to the d–f transition of cerium and a reduction in the intensity of the emission peak due to 5D37Fj (j = 3, 4) transition of terbium, when excited at 330 nm. These results support that energy transfer occurs from cerium to terbium in the KCl host. Co‐doping Ce3+ ions greatly intensified the excitation peak at 339 nm for the emission at 400 nm of Tb3+. The emission due to Tb3+ ions was confirmed by PSL and TSL spectra. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献
