Musa nagalandiana S. Dey & Gogoi, a new species of Musa sect. Musa, is described and illustrated from Zunheboto district, Nagaland, India based on morphological characteristics observed in the field. The new species is rare in the wild and found in tropical semi‐evergreen forest on the bank of the river Doyang, in Zunheboto district of Nagaland. Musa puspanjaliae R. Gogoi & Häkkinen, a new species of Musa sect. Musa, is described and illustrated from west Kameng, Arunachal Pradesh, India based on morphological characteristics observed in the field. The new species is common in Sessa, Zero Point to Ramda on Sepa road of west Kameng and Hazi Basti, Ziro of lower Subansiri district in Arunachal Pradesh. Isolation ofMetschnikowia bicuspidata var.australis in the haplophase from Antarctic waters, andM. bicuspidata var.zobellii in haplo-and diplophases at Chatham Is. N.Z., led to the study of mating reactions within theChlamydozyma - Metschnikowia complex. The results indicate the phylogenetic relationships between species. The plant-associatedCh. pulcherrima. Ch. reukaufii, andM. zygota are distinct species; when cross-mated they will conjugate but not produce asci. These three species are closely related toM. bicuspidata; when they are mated withM. bicuspidata and its varieties (var.australis and var.zobellii) asci are produced without spores. The taxonomic status ofM. bicuspidata and its varieties is based on less frequent formation of ascospores between than within taxa.The new varietyM. bicuspidata var.australis and the new combinationsM. zygota andM. bicuspidata var.zobellii are proposed.Contribution No. 925 from the Institute of Marine Sciences, University of Miami, Florida.  相似文献

我们从江苏、浙江两省采到的一些样品中分离得到六株毛霉菌种并鉴定为分别属于三个变种的同一个新种,即单孢共头霉原变种(Syncephalastrum monosporum Zheng et al.sp. nov. var. monosporum),单孢共头霉冠囊变种(Syncephalastrum monosporum Zheng et al. var. cristatum Zheng et al. var. nov.),以及单孢共头霉多重生变种(Syncephalastrum monosporum Zheng et al. var. pluriproliferum Zheng et al. var. nov.).它们与共头霉属的唯一已知种总状共头霉(Syncephalastrum racemosum Cohn ex Schroeter)的主要区别在于全部孢子囊都是单孢的小型孢子囊(柱孢囊)而不是像后者一样孢子成单行排列的多袍柱孢囊.我们把这些菌归人共头霉属而没有为它们专门成立一个新属的理由除因它们与总状共头霉有明显的亲缘关系外,主要还因我们认为在不具备其它重要区别特征的情况下,在毛霉目的分类中,无论在科级或属级的水平上,都不应过分强调单孢孢子囊的作用.尽管单孢共头霉是毛霉目内唯一具单孢子柱孢囊的种,我们仍然把它们归入共头霉属内.至于我们为什么要把这六株菌鉴定为一个种的三个变种而不是三个各自独立的种,则是由于我们承认共头霉属的唯一已知种总状共头霉是一个变异性很大的种而并没有把它分成许多不同的种,因此,我们对这个属的另外一个种,即单孢共头霉同样采用较大的种概念.  相似文献

Chloroplast DNA restriction site variation of ten endonucleases was examined among all ten species or varieties of the eastern Asia–eastern North America disjunct section Rytidospermum of Magnolia. Representatives from seven of the other ten sections of Magnolia and four related genera (Liriodendron, Manglietia, Michelia, and Talauma) were also included in the survey. A cladistic analysis of 200 variable sites using Wagner parsimony yielded 11 equally most parsimonious trees with a consistency index of 0.793 and a retention index of 0.870. The section Rytidospermum is polyphyletic in these trees. Magnolia tripetala from the southeastern U.S. is the only American species that has a sister relationship to the Asian taxa, M. hypoleuca, M. officinalis var. officinalis, M. officinalis var. biloba, and M. rostrata. Other American taxa in the section fall into two lineages, with M. macrophylla var. macrophylla, M. macrophylla var. ashei, and M. macrophylla var. dealbata in one, and M. fraseri var. fraseri and M. fraseri var. pyramidata in the other. They are not related to the Asian species as previously believed. The relationships revealed here are in agreement with morphological, allozymic, and cross compatibility data. These results demonstrate that a robust phylogenetic hypothesis is an important prerequisite for understanding biogeographic patterns.  相似文献

Nickel and zinc were determined in 57 taxa of western North American genera containing serpentine-tolerant species. The studies resulted in the identification of three varieties of Thlaspi montanum (var. montanum, var. siskiyouense, and var. californicum) which are hyperaccumulators (> 1,000 μg/g dry mass) of nickel. These three taxa together with the previously reported Streptanthus polygaloides are the only hyperaccumulators of nickel so far reported for continental America. Significantly higher than normal nickel values (up to 664 μg/g) were recorded for the serpentinophyte Viola cuneata. Elevated zinc levels (> 1,000 μg/g dry mass) were also recorded in four of the Thlaspi taxa and confirm the tendency of many species of this genus to accumulate zinc. It is suggested that hyperaccumulation of nickel by the three varieties of T. montanum is a neo-endemic rather than palaeo-endemic process and that the precursor of these varieties is T. montanum var. montanum from non-mineralized soils.  相似文献

Allium douglasii comprises four, allopatric varieties confined to the northwestern United States: var. columbianum, var. constrictum, var. douglasii, and var. nevii. Although no apparent karyotypic differences distinguish the four taxa, evidence from starch gel electrophoresis indicates that they are very distinct at genes coding for enzymes. The mean genetic identity for pairwise comparisons of populations of all four varieties is 0.84. This value is lower than identity values generally observed for subspecific taxa, and may be indicative of a long period of geographic separation and subsequent lack of gene flow among the varieties. However, a higher genetic identity of 0.93 was observed between var. constrictum and var. columbianum relative to other varietal comparisons. In addition, var. constrictum exhibited two biochemical autapomorphies: 1) loss of expression for the gene coding for Tpi-3, and 2) duplication or reactivation of an ADH gene. These data indicate that var. constrictum may be a recent derivative of var. columbianum. The distribution of genetic variation within and among populations of the putative progenitor/derivative pair also supports this hypothesis.  相似文献

被孢霉属(Mortierella Coemans)是接合菌纲(Zygomycetes)、毛霉目(Mucorales)、被孢霉科(Mortierellaceae)中的一个大属,目前已知约有90种;主要存在于土壤、植物残体、动物粪便等基物中。我国过去对被孢霉的研究不多,在《中国真菌总汇》(1979)中记录了8个种。本研究从全国22个省、市、自治区采集的2000多号样品中,分离到约220个被孢霉菌株。本研究主要采用Gams (1970, 1977)的分类系统进行分类鉴定,并对该系统进行了修改。在属下分3个亚属(Micromucor, MortierellaGamsiella), 8个组(Actinomortierella, Alpina,Hygrophila, Mortierella, Schmuckii, Simplex, SpinosaStylospora),单囊霉(Haplosporangium)被承认为独立的一个属。本研究鉴定出22个种和3个变种,包括一个新种(武夷山被孢霉Mortierella wuyishanensis sp. nov.)和一个新变种(极细无色被孢霉Mortierella hyalina(Harz) W. Gams var. subtilissima var. nov.), 14个中国新纪录。这14个新纪录为:产芽胞被孢霉(Mortierella. gemmifera M. Ellis)、园圃被孢霉(M. horticola Linnem.)、矮小被孢霉(M. humilis Linnem.)、无色被孢霉(M. hyalina(Harz) W. Gams)、印度被孢霉(M. indica B.S. Mehrotra)、英杜被孢霉(M. indohii C.Y. Chien),詹金氏被孢霉(M. jenkinii (A.L. Sm.) Naumov)、可疑极小被孢霉(M. minutissima Tiegh. var. dubia Linnem.)、易变被孢霉(M. mutabilis Linnem.)、微孢被孢霉(M. parvispora Linnem.)、角胞拉曼被孢霉(M. ramanniana(Moller) Linnem. var. angulispora (Naumov) Linnem.)、网孢被孢霉(M. reticulata Tiegh.& G. Desmids of Iraq     
Forty species and varieties of desmids belonging to the genera Closterium (7), Pleurotaenium (1), Euastrum (3), Cosmarium (28) and Staurastrum (1) have been described from southern Iraq including two new varieties under Cosmarium (i.e. C. cyclicum Lund, var. mesopotamianum var. nov., and C. tyrolicum (Nordst.) Krieger & Gerloff var. minor var. nov.). Most of the taxa are new records for Iraq.  相似文献

The taxonomy of theScutellaria pekinensis complex has been ambiguous and problematic, because morphological characters are variable. To elucidate the taxonomic structure of the Korean taxa belonging to the complex, 29 characters were measured from 99 individuals collected from 96 localities and analyzed by factor analysis, cluster analysis, and discriminant analysis. The results supported the recognition of four infraspecific taxa ofS. pekinensis Maxim, in Korea: var.ussuriensis (Regel) Handel-Mazzetti, var.alpina (Nakai) Hara, var.transitra (Makino) Hara, and var.maxima S. Kim et S. Lee. Key characters distinguishing the four varieties were inferred on the basis of multivariante analyses.  相似文献

A total of 55 taxa belonging to Trachelomonas (Euglenophyta) are reported from Bangladesh. Of these, 5 varieties (Tr. allorgei var. madaripurense, Tr. anguste-ovata var. ellipsoidea, Tr. armata var. rangpurense, Tr. hispida var. subcoronata, Tr. asymmetrica var. crenulata) and one forma (Tr. anguste-ovata fa. minor) are described as new to science.  相似文献

Molecular divergence in the eastern Asia—eastern North American disjunct section Rytidospermum of Magnolia was investigated by allozyme electrophoresis, chloroplast DNA (cpDNA) restriction site analysis, and gene sequencing. We calculated Nei's genetic identities between two Asian species, M. officinalis var. biloba and M. hypoleuca, and three American species, M. tripetala, M. fraseri var. fraseri, and M. macrophylla var. macrophylla, by using gene frequency data from 17 nuclear-encoded allozyme loci in 67 populations. We then estimated cpDNA sequence divergence between the five species by examining restriction site variation for ten endonucleases over the entire genome. Finally, nucleotide sequences of the chloroplast gene rbcL were compared between M. hypoleuca, M. tripetala, and M. macrophylla var. macrophylla. All three methods consistently yielded low divergence values between the American species M. tripetala and its Asian sister taxa, M. officinalis var. biloba and M. hypoleuca (Nei's I = 0.712 and 0.809, respectively; D-cpDNA = 0.083% for both pairs; D-rbcL = 0.000% between M. tripetala and M. hypoleuca). The other two American species, M. fraseri var. fraseri and M. macrophylla var. macrophylla, neither of which is sister to the Asian taxa, exhibited much higher divergence from the Asian taxa. We interpreted the low divergence between M. tripetala and its Asian sister taxa as a result of recent separation (the late Miocene to early Pliocene), based on time estimates from molecular data as well as geological and paleoclimatic evidence. A comparison of our results with those of the earlier studies revealed a diverse array of levels of divergence between several eastern Asian and eastern North American species pairs. Though different extinction patterns and variation in molecular evolutionary rates may be partly responsible, this heterogeneous pattern of divergence is best explained by different times of disjunction in different taxa, which in turn suggests that the floristic similarity between the two continents was most likely attained by multiple migrations via both Bering and North Atlantic land bridges, or possibly even with involvement of dispersal.  相似文献

A case of polymorphism in the desmid Micrasterias pinnatifida (Kütz.) Ralfs is described. It is based on material collected from the overflow channel of a dam in Caeté, Minas Gerais State. After careful examination of nearly 500 specimens, 26 different morphological expressions of the alga were found which led the authors to make the following deductions: (1) for delimitation of species and infraspecific taxa in desmids it is absolutely necessary to analyze sample populations; (2) the morphological characteristics presently used, for delimination of some varieties of M. Pinnatifida (Kütz.) Ralfs seem to have no taxonomical value if only isolated individuals are examined; (3) the varieties granulata, inflata, and tridentata must be considered with some caution, until further studies are carried out, because they can be merely distinct morphological expressions of M. pinnatifida (Kütz.) The contribution of Jonathan Pereira to plant taxonomy is reviewed. He described three species in the course of his extensive publications on materia medica. All three are members of the Zingiberaceae. Elettaria cardamomum-zeylanicum J. Pereira from Sri Lanka has been completely overlooked since its publication. It is a synonym of Elettaria cardamomum var. major Baker. The West African Amomum citratum J. Pereira is correctly known as Aframomum citratum (J. Pereira) K. Schum. Amomum korarima J. Pereira is a synonym of Aframomum corrorima (A. Braun) P. C. M. Jansen, an important spice-plant from Ethiopia. The typification of these taxa and their synonyms is reviewed. This includes new lectotypifications for two species described by Gaertner, Zingiber ensal and Z. minus. A note concerning the valid publication of 14 nomenclatural novelties by B. A. Abstract

Ten taxa of Pottiaceae considered endemic to North Africa have been studied and typified. Nine are newly synonymized with other well-known taxa. A new combination is proposed: Weissia condensa var. armata (Thér. & Trab.) M.J.Cano, Ros & J.Guerra. The distribution of Acaulon triquetrum var. desertorum (Besch.) Jelenc and Weissia condensa var. armata are respectively extended to Europe and the African continent. Barbula muralis var. obovata Schimp. is a misprint in the publication of the taxon. Two nomina nuda, Tortula cuneifolia var. caulescens Jelenc and Tortula cuneifolia var. pilifera Jelenc have no taxonomic value.  相似文献
