This research describes and presents some biological aspects of five fish species from carangidae family including: Alepes djedaba, Ulua mentalis, Alectis indica, Carangoides coeruleopinnatus, and Carangoides bajad in the Iranian waters of the northern Persian Gulf (Hormozgan Province, Iran). Samples were collected from April to September 2016. The fishing gears were gill nets (80, 100, 120 and 145 mm stretched mesh size), bottom and midwater trawls (30, 40 and 75 mm stretched mesh size in cod‐end) of local and commercial fishery. The b values of length–weight relationships ranged from 2.512 (95% CL = 0.054) for U. mentalis to 2.953 (95% CL = 0.155) for C. coeruleopinnatus and the correlation coefficient values (r2) were high for all species.  相似文献

This study presents the length–weight relationships (LWRs) of four caught fish, including Drepane punctata (Linnaeus, 1758), Alectis indica (Rüppell, 1830), Argyrops spinifer (Forsskål, 1775), and Saurida tumbil (Bloch, 1795). During 27 tows, the fish specimens were captured by Cutlassfish trawl net, with 80 mm mesh size in the cod‐end, from March 2015 to April 2016. The fishing operation was conducted at depths more than 50 m in southern waters of Bushehr (the northern Persian Gulf). The estimated b values were as follow: 3.17 for D. punctata, 2.59 for Alectis indica, 2.56 for A. spinifer, and 3.26 for S. tumbil. In the present study, new maximum total lengths for D. punctata (15.2–43.5 cm), A. indica (21–69.5 cm), and A. spinifer (15.3–66.5 cm) were reported in comparison with previous researches.  相似文献

In the present paper the length–weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for Jinshaia sinensis Sauvage & Dabry de Thiersant, 1874; Triplophysa anterodorsalis Zhu & Cao, 1989; Liobagrus marginatus Günther, 1892; and Glyptothorax sinensis Regan, 1908 caught in the Heishui River in July 2014. The specimens were caught with fishing gear including drifting gillnets (mesh size 4 cm) and shrimp cages. This paper provides new data on LWRs for FishBase.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships are described for four marine teleost fish species caught in the South China Sea. A total of 625 individuals were collected from April to August 2007 and November 2012 using a bottom trawl (mesh size, 3.9 cm) and longline fishing. The values of parameters a and b ranged from 0.004612 to 0.02137 and 3.019 to 3.371, respectively. The high r2 values (all >.950) indicate that these relationships are robust and will be appropriate for use in fisheries management of these species.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships were estimated for four marine species, namely Pomadasys kaakan (Cuvier, 1829), Pampus argenteus (Euphrasen, 1788), Scomberoides commersonnianus Lacepède, 1801 and Euthynnus affinis (Cantor, 1849) in the Gulf of Oman (Konarak, Iran). During nine cruises, samples were collected at 20‐miles distance from shoreline by 3 panel drift gill‐nets with 120 mm mesh size, 8–9 m height and 0.5 hanging ratio in autumn and winter 2016.  相似文献

In this study, length‐length relationships (LLRs) and weight‐length relationships (WLRs) were established for a Carangidae species: Uraspis helvola and tow Flatfishes: Pseudorhombus elevatus and Psettodes erumei that are substantial marine fish species to commercial fisheries in Persian Gulf that are indigenous marine fish species in the region. Samples were collected by non‐selective fish bottom trawler with stretch mesh size of 4 centimeters at the cod‐end area, which helped us to obtain such a broad range size that included small, medium and large size classes during June to August 2017. Hitherto, the length‐weight model presented in this study for Pseudorhombus elevatus and Uraspis helvola were not documented on Fishbase. Additionally, new records of maximum length are presented as 64.5 and 30 centimeters for P. erumei and P. elevatus respectively. A comprehensive size distribution and highly significant fitted model (r2>0.95) in this research provides useful insight for future studies on fish biology, fisheries assessment and ecological modeling.  相似文献

In this study we report length–weight relationships for five species of stingrays found in the Persian Gulf, Iran. The length–weight relationships of four fish species: Lophiomus setigerus (Vahl, 1797), Uranoscopus oligolepis Bleeker, 1878, Cynoglossus oligolepis (Bleeker, 1855), and Cynoglossus arel (Bloch & Schneider, 1801) were determined. Specimens were collected from the Beibu Gulf in the South China Sea by using bottom trawl nets (mesh size 4.0 cm, at a towing speed about 3 knots) in the seasonal investigations from August 2010 to May 2011. Length‐weight relationships are described for five fish species from the coast of the Hormuz Strait in the Persian Gulf, Iran. Specimens were collected between August 2010 and July 2011 using shrimp beam trawls, gill nets and intertidal fishing weirs. Relationships for three of the species had no previous data in the international science global databank on fishes: www.FishBase.org . This study investigates length–length and length–weight relationships of three Sillago species [Sillago arabica McKay & McCarthy (Memoirs of the Queensland Museum, 27, 1989, 551), Sillago attenuata McKay, 1985 and Sillago sihama (Forsskål, 1775)] captured in the Persian Gulf, Iran. A collection of 220 specimens was captured from August 2015 to January 2016 by cast net (mesh size: 10 mm) and beach seine (mesh size: 15 mm). The relationships of total length (TL) and standard length (SL) and the relationships between total length and body weight are given. This study presents the first reference on LWRs for two of the species (S. arabica and S. attenuata) in their range of distribution.  相似文献

This study provides length–weight relationships (LWRs) for three flatfish species: Cynoglossus bilineatus (Lacepède, 1802), Solea elongata (Day, 1877), and Pseudorhombus elevatus (Ogilby, 1912) from Motaf fishing grounds (latitude 27°00′ to 28°03′N; longitude 51°41′ to 52°11′E), Bushehr province, Iran. A total of 103 fish specimens were collected using shrimp trawler with 40 mm (stretched mesh size) at depths of 10–30 m between August and September 2017. Length–weight relationships (LWR) are presented for five commercial freshwater fish species (Luciobarbus esocinus, Heckel, 1843; Capoeta trutta, Heckel, 1843; Barbus lacerta, Heckel, 1843; Luciobarbus mystaceus, Pallas, 1814 and Capoeta umbla, Heckel, 1843) collected from Keban Dam Lake located in eastern Anatolia, Turkey. Studied samples were obtained between July and December 2008 using commercial gill nets. For each species the sample size, length range, weight range, length‐weight relationships, 95% confidence intervals of a and b, coefficient of correlation and growth type are given. Values of b were between 2.915 (Luciobarbus esocinus) and 3.079 (Copoeta trutta) and r2 values from 0.919 (Copoeta trutta) to 0.987 (Barbus lacerta) in the study. New maximum length and length–weight relationships are reported for Barbus lacerta and Luciobarbus mystaceus.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) were estimated for 31 fish species caught by bottom trawl surveys in Jiaozhou Bay on the west coast of the south Yellow Sea. Specimens were collected from September 2008 to August 2009 at monthly intervals. This study presents the first reference on LWRs for 15 of these species and new records of maximum total length for two species. Most of the b values fell within the expected range of 2.5–3.5. The mean value of b was 3.094 ± 0.064 (95% CL), which was significantly larger than 3.0, indicating a slight but significant tendency towards positive allometric growth in most of the fishes. Effects of the sex, season and growth phase were taken into account in this study. Results showed significantly different relationships between males and females in three of the species. Four species were found to have highly significant seasonal differences in the regression slope of b. Two different growth stanzas were detected using the double‐logarithmic plot of body weight vs total length for three species. The finding that the absolute residuals of b from 3.0 would become smaller with the increase in length‐range used was confirmed in this study.  相似文献
