The present study reports the length–weight relationships of six fish species from the Tapajós River: Curimata inornata, Geophagus altifrons, G. neambi, Pachyurus junki, Pseudoloricaria laeviuscula and Pristobrycon striolatus. No previous LWR information was available for these species in the FishBase database. Coefficients for the parameter b varied from 2.83 to 3.56.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWR) were estimated for seven fish species inhabiting the intertidal mudflats in the Marajó Bay, northern Brazil. A total of 514 specimens were collected quarterly between November 1994 and December 1995 using a beach seine (5 mm mesh size between opposite knots). Slope b of the LWR varied between 2.93 and 3.11, with a mean of 3.02. This study represents the first reference on LWRs for seven species and a new maximum length record for one of these species.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWR) were estimated for five most abundant fish species occurring in the Utinga State Park within the metropolitan area of Belém, State of Pará, Northern Brazil. Data were obtained from specimens of Curimata knerii (n = 75), Gasteropelecus levis (n = 54), Hemigrammus rodwayi (n = 82), Hyphessobrycon bentosi (n = 69), and Pristobrycon calmoni (n = 76) collected in July 2013 with seines (1.5 mm mesh), sieves (1 mm mesh), and gill nets (40–120 mm mesh) in the main waterbodies. All LWRs are novel for science, increasing knowledge on biological information of the Neotropical freshwater fish.  相似文献

Parameters of the length‐weight relationship (LWR) were estimated for seven fish species from Amazonian Equatorial coast of Maranhão, Brazil. Samplings were carried out in three sample points of the lower stretch of the Itapecuru River (2°57'6.2"S and 44°14'26.5"W; 3°0'33.0"S and 44°15'54.7"W; 3°3'42.9"S and 44°15'1"W). The specimens were caught quarterly from June 2012 to August 2014 using monofilament gillnets (10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80 mm between knots) from 10 m to 30 m long and 4 m to 6 m high. This study provides the LWR parameters for Schizodon dissimilis, Curimata macrops, Prochilodus lacustris, Geophagus surinamensis, Hassar affinis, Platydoras brachylecis and Hypostomus plecostomus.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships of 23 fish species from the Guaratiba mangrove area in southeastern Brazil were estimated. The value of the parameter b ranged from 2.63 to 3.39 (median = 2.97). This study presents the first estimation of LWR for two species (Ctenogobius stomatus and Ctenogobius boleosoma). New maximum length records were obtained for two species (Poecilla vivipara and Ctenogobius stomatus).  相似文献

Length‐weight relationship parameters were calculated for six fish species from São Marcos Bay, in Northeast Brazil (the segment between 02°35′55″S and 44°20′58″W; 02°34′53″S and 44°21′48″W; 02º42′25″S and 44º26′46″W). The specimens were caught quarterly from April 2010 to February 2013, using monofilament gillnets (2, 4 and 6 cm between knots) from 100 m to 3,000 m long and 4 m to 6 m high. The present study covers a much wider size range for four species and adds new information for the maximum length of Notarius bonillai.  相似文献

The present study established the length‐weight relationships (LWR) for seven fish species from Jequitinhonha River basin, a Brazilian coastal drainage, collected with gillnets (3 to 16 cm) between 2011 and 2016. For the LWR, standard length and total weight were used. The allometric coefficient b varied from 2.66 to 3.26. These results provide biological data for a region of extreme biogeographical importance that is suffering serious environmental disturbances.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships were determined for 15 fish species from the tributary Atlantic rain forest steams that drain into Sepetiba Bay, southeastern Brazil. This is the first record of length‐weight relationships for 12 of these species and new maximum lengths for four species. These results will be useful for management and conservation of this area of the Atlantic rain forest drainages.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWR) and length‐length relationships (LLR) were analyzed for three species inhabiting tidepools in the Amazon Coastal Zone, two of them non‐native. Tidepools were sampled in five beaches along the Amazon Coastal Zone in 2011, and samplings were carried out using hand nets. The coefficients of allometry and proportionality were within the ranges estimated for fishes. All three species exhibited coefficients of allometry (b) higher than 3 in the LWR.  相似文献

The length‐weight relationships (LWRs) of three fish species; Toxotes chatareus (Hamilton, 1822), Datnioides polota (Hamilton, 1822), and Chela cachius (Hamilton, 1822) collected between September 2016 and August 2017 from Tentulia estuary of Bangladesh were analyzed. Fish were caught seasonally using set bag net and cast net with mesh size of 0.5 cm and < 0.5 cm, respectively. LWRs of Toxotes chatareus, Datnioides polota and Chela cachius were calculated as W = 0.0154L2.926 (r2 = .962), W = 0.0149L3.106 (r2 = .992) and W = 0.0109L2.968 (r2 = .981), respectively. The present work reports the length‐weight relationships of 14 abundant fish species from a tropical reservoir (Juturnaiba Reservoir), which is the water supply for several municipalities in the northern Rio de Janeiro State, southeastern Brazil. Fishes were collected quarterly in 2006 and 2007 using gillnets of different mesh sizes (15–120 mm stretched mesh) that were set up at sunset and retrieved the following morning, remaining for ca. 15 h. Of the 14 species, eight had no records in the FishBase LWR database; new maximum lengths are given for eight species.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for 4 deep water fish species from Visakhapatnam coast, India. Specimens were collected fortnightly between December 2013 and November 2015 from commercial trawls at Visakhapatnam fish landing centre (16.98°N–20.2°N, Long.82.19°–86.53°E). Individuals were captured between 100 and 300 m depth with shrimp trawl net (head rope length: 37–46 m and cod end mesh size: 30–40 mm). Total length (TL) (nearest to 0.1 cm) and body weights (nearest to 0.1 g) were taken each individual. All LWRs were significant with r2 values ranged from 0.958 for Uranoscopus bicinctus Temminkc & Schlegel, 1843 to 0.983 for Uranoscopus chinensis Guichenot, 1882 and “b” values ranged from 2.832 for U. bicinctus to 3. 402 Synodus indicus (Day, 1873).This study provides a new maximum length data for three species (Uranoscopus bicinctus Temminkc & Schlegel, 1843; Uranoscopus chinensis Guichenot, 1882 and Uranoscopus marmoratus Cuvier, 1829).  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWR) were provided for three fish species from Cujubim Sustainable Development Reserve, drainages of the Jutaí River Basin, a tributary of the Solimões River, part of the Central Amazon Biodiversity Corridor, Amazonas, Region North of Brazil. Specimens were collected in March 2006 using gill nets with mesh sizes range between 2 and 18 cm. Length–weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for three cyprinid fish species [Acrossocheilus yunnanensis (Regan, 1904), Onychostoma simum (Sauvage & Dabry de Thiersant, 1874) and Spinibarbus sinensis (Bleeker, 1871)] from southwestern China. Samples were obtained with various fishing gear (set nets, drift gill nets, fish cages, hook and electrofishing). In this study the length–weight relationships of five fish species belonging to four families and five genera were analyzed from the streams of Maoershan National Forest Park in China. A total of 221 specimens were used to estimate the relationship parameters. These species (Lethenteron reissneri, Cobitis granoei, Misgurnus mohoity, Rhynchocypris percnurus and Perccottus glenii) had no previous estimate in FishBase.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) for 35 freshwater fish species from the SP/RJ coastal basin in Brazil are presented in this paper. Fishes were captured between 2011 and 2015 on an irregular basis using electrofishing, sieves, trawl nets, cast nets and fish‐traps. In this study new LWRs are reported for 28 species, plus the total weight and length for 34 and nine species, respectively. The study provides new information on less‐studied species and can serve as a basis for management and conservation in this area.  相似文献

Samples were collected quarterly from June 2015 to March 2017.The allometric coefficient (b) of length‐weight relationship varied from 2.76 for Zebrias zebra to 3.38 for Setipinna tenuifilis. Length‐weight relationships were determined for four fish species [Acentrogobius viridipunctatus (Valenciennes, 1837); Acentrogobius caninus (Valenciennes, 1837); Glossogobius olivaceus (Temminck & Schlegel, 1845); and Lutjanus ophuysenii (Bleeker, 1860)] belonging to two families. Samples were collected from 2002 to 2010 by cage net (50 × 15 × 15 cm, mesh size 0.5 cm) from Zhanjiang mangrove in China (20°36′N; 110°54′E). The total length ranged is between 2.3 and 18.1 cm and weighted between 0.3 and 90.2 g. The allometric coefficient (b) of length‐weight relationship varied from 2.72 for Zenarchopterus buffonis to 3.48 for Acentrogobius viridipunctatus. Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) were estimated for four fish species [Schizopygopsis anteroventris Wu & Tsao, 1989, Schizothorax lissolabiatus Tsao, 1964, Triplophysa markehenensis (Zhu & Wu, 1981) and Triplophysa siluroides (Herzenstein, 1888)] from the Yellow River. Samples were collected seasonally from August 2016 to October 2017, using various fishing gears [set nets (mesh: 1.5 cm × 2.0 cm), hook, drift gill nets (mesh: 1.0 cm × 2.0 cm × 3.0 cm) and electro fishing]. Four new maximum standard length were recorded for S. anteroventris, S. lissolabiatus, T. markehenensis and T. siluroides.  相似文献
