This study reports weight–length and length–length relationships for selected coastal reef fish species of the Cape Verde Archipelago (tropical north‐eastern Atlantic). Specimens were caught with different types of gear (long‐lines, hand‐lines, purse‐seines and traps) during commercial fishing activities and sampled during fish market operations. A total of 8328 individuals were sampled, representing 29 species from 14 Families. This study provides the first references on weight–length and length–length relationships for five and 23 fish species worldwide, for 10 and 24 species for the Eastern Atlantic and for 12 and 26 species for Cape Verde Archipelago, respectively. Additionally, it provides revised weight–length relationships for 11 species from Cape Verde waters.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships were estimated for 16 fish species (Cyprinidae) from the Liuxihe National Aquatic germplasm resources conservation areas in China. This study presents the first reference on length–weight relationships for 12 species and new records of maximum length for six species.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships were determined for 13 species captured in the marshlands of the Doñana National Park (SW Iberian Peninsula). This is the first record of length–weight relationships for two of these species.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships were estimated for 24 freshwater fish species of Iran. Significant length–weight relationships with high correlation coefficient were found for all species. The value of the parameter b varied between 2.881 and 3.545.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships are presented for nine fish species from the floodplain lakes in the Central Amazon (Amazon Basin, Brazil). The parameter slope b values in the length–weight relationships ranged from 2.33 to 3.28 for grouped sexes, and from 2.7 to 3.61 for separated sexes. Differences between sexes were verified in three species. Sizes at first sexual maturation ranged from 9.14 to 23.97. This study provides a new reference for the length–weight relationships of six species.  相似文献

This study provides data on the length–weight relationship (LWR) for 26 species of neotropical fishes. Specimens were collected between 2008 and 2009 from a dam‐enclosed section of the middle Negro River (Uruguay). This study represents the first reference on length–weight relationships for 17 species, and also provides new maximum sizes for eight species.  相似文献

This paper provides the length–weight relationships for six fish species collected from the Anning River, one of the biggest tributaries of the Yalong River in China. A total of 1096 specimens belonging to six fish species were analyzed. Among them, the length–weight relationships for 4 fish species are first‐time reports for FishBase and new maximum lengths of one fish species is also reported.  相似文献

The present work reports the length–weight relationships (LWR) for 20 fish species from the Guandu River basin, Southeastern, Brazil, a lotic system that supplies most of the water for Rio de Janeiro Municipality and nearby cities. Length–weight relationships for nine of these species were unknown to Fishbase, and new maximum lengths are given for eight of the species.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships of six fish species are presented. Fish samples were collected from the Lancang River, in the Chinese section of the Upper Mekong River, in southwestern China. This study reports the first length–weight relationship for one of these species.  相似文献

Length–weight and length–length relationships are reported for 18 species of fish and two species of crayfish within the Everglades, FL, USA. This study provides updated relationships for native species, as well as initial relationships for established exotic species in this region. Additionally, 14 length–weight and two length–length relationships are presented to FishBase for the first time.  相似文献

Length–length and length–weight relationships can vary temporally and spatially, so it is imperative that accurate estimates of these relationships are available. Total length–standard length (TL‐SL) and standard length–total weight (SL–TW) relationships were calculated for eight species of drum (Sciaenidae) occurring in estuaries of southeastern Louisiana. Data were derived from monthly trawl, beach seine, and gillnet collections taken in and around Lake Pontchartrain between 2000 and 2012. Overall TL–SL relationships (ignoring the month) were found for seven species and overall SL–TW relationships were found for eight species. The strong r2 values (all > 0.950, except for one instance) indicate that these relationships are robust and will be appropriate for use by scientists managing these species.  相似文献

Estimated length–weight relationships are presented for 11 marine fish species representing six families, found above the continental shelf and in the pelagial of the Okhotsk Sea. A total of 13,841 specimens were caught by trawls that were equipped with a 1.0 by 1.2 cm mesh webbing inset. The period between 1974 and 2015 comprised mostly spring and autumn months. All length–weight relationships were highly significant (r2 ≥ .95) on a log scale. None of the species had previous length–weight estimates, and two species had no previous length–length estimates in the FishBase.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships are described for six fish species belonging to two families from the Poonch River, a tributary of the Jhelum River (Tributary of Indus Basin), India. Length–weight relationships for the six species were unknown to FishBase, and new maximum lengths are recorded for five of the species. These results will be useful for fishery research, management and conservation of the Indus Basin.  相似文献

This paper provides the length‐weight and length–length relationships for five fish species in the Zigui section of the lower Three Gorges Reservoir of the Yangtze River. Specimens were collected from December 2014 to January 2017, using various types of fishing gear and electroshock fishing techniques. Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) for one fish species and Length–length relationships (LLRs) for five fish species are unknown to FishBase. New maximum total lengths for four species were also recorded for FishBase. Moreover, standard‐length to total‐length equations for converting size measurements for these five species are presented.  相似文献
