Two new species of plant-parasitic nematodes from Costa Rica are described. Helicotygenchus styloeercus n. sp., from soil around roots of banana at Coto, is distinguished hy the female tail, which bears a large pillarlike ventral projection. Rotylenchus phaliurus n. sp., from soil artmnd roots of Dioscoroea sp. at Sixaola, differs from R. caudaphasmidius in having the conus equal to or more than half the spear length, and large terminal annules on the female tail.  相似文献

When studying the parasite fauna of freshwater gobies Proterorhinus marmoratus collected from the reaches of the River Danube around Budapest, two species of Myxosporea were recovered, a renal and a gall-bladder form. Previously no myxosporeans had been reported from this fish species. The spores and pseudoplasmodia of the parasite described as Ceratomyxa hungarica n. sp. were found in the convoluted tubules of the kidney and in the cavity of Bowman's capsule. The pseudoplasmodia were loosely attached to the wall of the tubules, causing their distention. Within each pseudoplasmodium two spores were formed. In the case of Chloromyxum proterorhini n. sp. only spores floating freely in the contents of the gall-bladder were found. Since Ceratomyxa species are typically marine fish parasites, Proterorhinus marmoratus, a fish species which has adapted to freshwater, appears to have retained some of its marine myxosporean fauna.  相似文献

Aphelenchoides microstylus n. sp. and Seinura onondagensis n. sp., a nematode predator, are described from dead Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) in Onondaga County, New York. Females of A. microstylus are 370 to 485 µm long. The body is slender and tapers posteriorly to an amucronate, pointed terminus. The head is continuous with the body, and lips bear a stylet guide. Diagnostic characters of females are three incisures in the lateral field, a short stylet (6-7.5 µm) with small basal knobs, a single row of oocytes, and a long postuterine sac (25-50 µm). Males are characterized by small spicules (10-11µm); two pairs of post-anal, subventral papillae; and a single row of spermatocytes. A bursa and gubernaculum are absent. Seinura onondagensis females are characterized by a body of moderate length (475-595 µm), finely annulated cuticle, and a slightly set-off head. Diagnostic characters are four incisures in the lateral field, long stylet without basal knobs (17-22 µm), single row of oocytes, and presence of a postuterine sac (14-38 µm). Males are unknown. The monospecific genus Indaphelenchus is proposed as a synonym of Seinura, and S. siddiqii n. comb. is proposed for the only species, I. siddiqii.  相似文献

During a trans-Saharan expedition in 1980 a number of samples were collected from stagnant and running fresh and slightly saline water bodies. One of them, collected from the Oued En-Namous in a small oasis yielded several interesting nematodes, among which was a newHalalaimus species described herein asHalalaimus algeriensis n. sp. It comes close toH. minusculus Tchesunov, 1978, but differs in tailshape, absence of males and habitat. It also resembles the marine speciesH. gracilis de Man, 1888, but differs in the relative length of the anterior setae, the absence of a lateral field and absence of males. The new species can be differentiated fromH. stammeri Schneider, 1940, the only fresh water species found hitherto, by its shorter body, more anterior and wider fovea, and the length and position of the anterior setae. The various juvenile stages can be separated on the basis of body length, foveal length and genital primordium.  相似文献

SYNOPSIS The oocysts of 2 new species of Eimeria are described from heteromyid rodents. The subspherical to ellipsoidal cocysts of Eimeria reedi from Perognathus formosus averaged 22.6 by 20.8 μ. An ellipsoidal polar granule was present. The oocyst residuum was a single globule about 8 μ in diameter. The ovoid sporocysts averaged 10.9 by 7.7 μ and had a residuum of 6-12 granules. A Stieda body and substiedal body were present in the sporocysts. Eimeria chobotari oocysts, from Dipodomys merriami and D. microps , were ellipsoidal to ovoid and averaged 47.7 by 35.2 μ. No polar granule was seen. The large oocyst residuum consisted of several granules of various sizes. The ovoid sporocysts averaged 15.8 by 11.3 μ and had a residuum of many small granules. A Stieda body and substiedal body were present in the sporocysts.  相似文献

Trichodorus persicus n. sp. is described from the Caspian region of Iran, where it was found in woodland and orchard soil. Males of the new species usually have two ventral cervical papillae anterior to the excretory pore but posterior to the base of the onchiostyle; there are three ventromedian preanal supplements, the posterior one lying near the heads of the retracted spicules; the spicules are 51–61 m long with faint transverse striations distally. Females have two pairs of lateral body pores, large rounded sclerotized thickenings at the vulva and the vagina tapers inwards in lateral view.  相似文献

Soil samples collected from Taebak Changkunbong and Undal mountains of Kyungbuk Province, yielded two new species of the order Dorylaimida which are described and illustrated below. Dorylaimoides punctatus n. sp. (Nematoda: Dorylaimida) is 1.2–1.4 mm long; b = 5.9–6.9; c = 14.6–17.7; odontostyle 7.3–8.5 μm; spicules 33.5–36.5 μm; ventromedian supplements 5–6 and is characterized by having zig-zag lines on body cuticle, continuous lip region, elongate conoid tail and comes close to Dorylaimoides micoletzkyi (De Man, 1921) Thorne & Swanger, 1936 and Dorylaimoides leptus Husain & Khan, 1968. Paractinolaimus acutus n. sp. (Nematoda: Dorylaimida) is 2.1–2.4 mm long; b = 4.3–4.9; c = 10–12; odontostyle 25–27 μm and characterized by having continuous lip region, longitudinally oval vulva and long filiform tail with acute tip and comes close to Parctinolaimus aruprus Khan et al., 1994 and Parctinolaimus baldus Thorne, 1967.  相似文献

Merlinius paniculoides n. sp. is described from a bisexual Italian population found in northern Italy. This species has a coarsely annulated cuticle with approximately 30 longitudinal striae in addition to the six lateral field incisures; consequently the cuticle appears tessellate. The female tail is subcylindrical with a bluntly, rounded, non-annulated terminus. Merlinius paniculoides shares the tessellate cuticular ornamentation and the offset labial region with M. lenorus (Brown, 1956) Siddiqi, 1970 and M. tartuensis (Krall, 1959) Siddiqi, 1970. It differs from M. lenorus by the higher c and lower c'' ratios (c = 16-19 vs. 12-15 and c'' = 2.2-2,8 vs. 3.7) and greater number of longitudinal striae (28-32 vs. 24). It differs from M. tartuensis by a fewer number of annuti from stylet knob base to lip constriction (8-9 vs. 21), shorter stylet (19-21 vs. 24 μm), presence of males, and higher c'' value (c'' = 2.2-2.8 vs. 1.9).  相似文献
