The impact of viruses and protists on bacterioplankton mortality was examined monthly during 2 years (May 2005–April 2007) in an oligotrophic coastal environment (NW Mediterranean Sea). We expected that in such type of system, (i) bacterial losses would be caused mainly by protists, and (ii) lysogeny would be an important type of virus–host interaction. During the study period, viruses and grazers together were responsible for 50.6 ± 40.1% day−1 of bacterial standing stock losses (BSS) and 59.7 ± 44.0% day−1 of bacterial production losses (BP). Over the first year (May 2005–April 2006), protists were the principal cause of bacterial mortality, removing 29.9 ± 20.4% day−1 of BSS and 33.9 ± 24.3% day−1 of BP, whereas viral lysis removed 13.5 ± 17.0% day−1 of BSS and 12.3 ± 12.3% day−1 of BP. During the second year (May 2006–April 2007), viruses caused comparable bacterial losses (29.2 ± 14.8% day−1 of BSS and 40.9 ± 20.7% day−1 of BP) to protists (28.6 ± 25.5% day−1 of BSS and 32.4 ± 20.0% day−1 of BP). In 37% of cases higher losses of BP due to viruses than due to protists were found. Lysogenic infection was detected in 11 of 24 samplings. Contrary to our expectations, lytic infections dominated over the two years, and viruses resulted to be a significant source of bacterial mortality in this oligotrophic site.  相似文献

Data on adult longevity, reproduction and intrinsic rate of population increase of insect parasitoid Amitus fuscipennis MacGown and Nebeker (Hym., Platygasteridae) were obtained under different climatic conditions on two bean cultivars. The insect host was the greenhouse whitefly Trialeurodes vaporariorum (Westwood) (Hom., Aleyrodidae). On cv. Chocho, at 19°C, 75 ± 5% RH and at 22°C, 70 ± 5% RH, mean longevity of adult Amitus females on the host insect was 9.3 and 5.7 days; mean fertility was 64.1 eggs and 52.7 eggs; and rm values were 0.102 day–1 and 0.144 day–1 for the respective conditions. On cv. ICA-Pijao, at 19°C, 75 ± 5% RH, mean longevity was 15.2 days; mean fertility was highest (162.8 eggs); and rm value was 0.117 day–1. The rm values of Amitus were higher than those of its host under the same test conditions. This parasitoid may therefore be a suitable candidate for use in inoculative or seasonal inoculative control programs against T. vaporariorum .  相似文献

The neuropeptide vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) is anti-inflammatory and protective in the immune and nervous systems, respectively. This study demonstrated in corneal endothelial (CE) cells injured by severe oxidative stress (1.4 mM H2O2) in bovine corneal organ cultures that VIP pre-treatment (0, 10−10, 10−8, and 10−6 M; 15 min), in a VIP concentration-dependent manner, switched the inflammation-causing necrosis to inflammation-neutral apoptosis (showing annexin V-binding, chromatin condensation, and DNA fragmentation) and upheld ATP levels in a VIP antagonist (SN)VIPhyb-sensitive manner, while up-regulated mRNA levels of the anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 and the differentiation marker N-cadherin in a kinase A inhibitor-sensitive manner. As a result, VIP, in a concentration-dependent and VIP antagonist-sensitive manners, promoted long-term CE cell survival. ATP levels, a determining factor in the choice of apoptosis versus necrosis, measured after VIP pre-treatment and 0.5 min post-H2O2 were 39.6 ± 3.3, 50.8 ± 6.2, 60.1 ± 4.8, and 53.6 ± 5.3 pmoles/μg protein (mean ± SEM), respectively ( p  < 0.05, anova ). VIP treatment alone concentration-dependently increased levels of N-cadherin ( Koh et al. 2008 ), the phosphorylated cAMP-responsive-element binding protein and Bcl-2, while10−8 M VIP, in a VIP antagonist (SN)VIPhyb-sensitive manner, increased ATP level by 38% ( p  < 0.02) and decreased glycogen level by 32% ( p  < 0.02). VPAC1 (not VPAC2) receptor was expressed in CE cells. Thus, CE cell VIP/VPAC1 signaling is both anti-inflammatory and protective in the corneal endothelium.  相似文献

Although the effects of grazing-induced savannah degradation on animal diversity are well documented, knowledge of how they affect space use or responding behaviour remains poor. In this study, we analysed space use of the spotted sand lizard ( Pedioplanis l. lineoocellata ) in degraded versus nondegraded habitats of southern Kalahari savannah habitats. Lizards were radio tracked, daily movement distances recorded and home range sizes calculated. In degraded Kalahari savannah habitats where plant diversity and perennial grass cover are low but shrub cover high, P. lineoocellata moves larger distances (40.88 ± 6.42 m versus 27.43 ± 5.08 m) and occupies larger home ranges (646.64 ± 244.84 m2 versus 209.15 ± 109.84 m2) than in nondegraded habitats (high plant diversity, high perennial grass cover and low shrub cover). We assume that this increase in daily movement distances and home range sizes is a behavioural plasticity to limited food resources in degraded savannah habitats. Although P. lineoocellata is able to adjust to resource-poor savannah habitats, the increase in the lizard's movement activities is likely to result in a higher predation risk. This is supported by the lower availability of protective vegetation i.e. perennial grass cover. Hence, we conclude that despite behavioural plasticity of P. lineoocellata , overgrazing has a severe negative impact on the space use of P. lineoocellata .  相似文献

Sal1p, a novel Ca2+-dependent ATP-Mg/Pi carrier, is essential in yeast lacking all adenine nucleotide translocases. By targeting luciferase to the mitochondrial matrix to monitor mitochondrial ATP levels, we show in isolated mitochondria that both ATP-Mg and free ADP are taken up by Sal1p with a K m of 0.20 ± 0.03 mM and 0.28 ± 0.06 mM respectively. Nucleotide transport along Sal1p is strictly Ca2+ dependent. Ca2+ increases the V max with a S 0.5 of 15 μM, and no changes in the K m for ATP-Mg. Glucose sensing in yeast generates Ca2+ transients involving Ca2+ influx from the external medium. We find that carbon-deprived cells respond to glucose with an immediate increase in mitochondrial ATP levels which is not observed in the presence of EGTA or in Sal1p-deficient cells. Moreover, we now report that during normal aerobic growth on glucose, yeast mitochondria import ATP from the cytosol and hydrolyse it through H+-ATP synthase. We identify two pathways for ATP uptake in mitochondria, the ADP/ATP carriers and Sal1p. Thus, during exponential growth on glucose, mitochondria are ATP consumers, as those from cells growing in anaerobic conditions or deprived of mitochondrial DNA which depend on cytosolic ATP and mitochondrial ATPase working in reverse to generate a mitochondrial membrane potential. In conclusion, the results show that growth on glucose requires ATP hydrolysis in mitochondria and recruits Sal1p as a Ca2+-dependent mechanism to import ATP-Mg from the cytosol. Whether this mechanism is used under similar settings in higher eukaryotes is an open question.  相似文献

Aims:  To enhance the recovery of f2 bacteriophage and poliovirus by an established method based on the adsorption to and elution from positively-charged Al(OH)3-treated silica gel.
Methods and Results:  Polyaluminum Chloride (PAC) was added to water samples to neutralize the negatively charged materials, which can reduce virus recovery by providing a competing adsorption mode on the media surface. Using this improved process (PAC 30 mg l−1, pH 6·5, temperature 20∼30°C), the recoveries of Poliovirus I and f2 from small-volume sewage (100 ml) were 110·76 ± 36·0% and 92·06 ± 8·65%, respectively ( P  < 0·05 vs. traditional methods). Recovery from a 20-L volume of sewage averaged 85·65 ± 4·43% for f2 and 88·73 ± 9·76% for poliovirus, significantly higher than the recoveries in the traditional methods ( P  < 0·05).
Conclusions:  PAC could enhance concentration efficiency of poliovirus and f2 phage from sewage water.
Significance and Impact of the Study:  This method should significantly improve the recovery of viruses from sewage.  相似文献

Abstract.  The effect of long-term (seasonal) acclimation and rapid cold hardening is investigated on the cold torpor temperature ( CT min) of adult grain aphids, Sitobion avenae, reared at 20 or 10 °C for more than 6 months before experimentation. Rapid cold hardening is induced by exposing aphids reared at 20 to 0 °C for 3 h and aphids reared at 10 to 0 °C for 30 min (acclimation regimes previously found to induce maximum rapid cold hardening). The effect of cooling aphids from the same rearing regimes from 10 to −10 °C at 1, 0.5 and 0.1 °C min−1 is also investigated. In the 20 °C acclimated population, rapid cold hardening and cooling at 0.1 °C min−1 both produce a significant decrease in CT min from 1.5 ± 0.3 to –0.9 ± 0.3 and –1.3 ± 0.3 °C, respectively. Rapid cold hardening also results in a significant reduction in CT min of the population reared at 10 °C from 0.8 ± 0.1 to –0.9 ± 0.2 °C. However, none of the cooling regimes tested reduces the CT min of the winter-acclimated (10 °C) population. The present study demonstrates that rapid cold-hardening induced during the cooling phase of natural diurnal temperature cycles could lower the movement threshold of S. avenae , allowing insects to move and continue feeding at lower temperatures than would otherwise be possible.  相似文献

Physiological impact of sea lice on swimming performance of Atlantic salmon   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6  
Atlantic salmon Salmo salar were infected with two levels of sea lice Lepeophtheirus salmonis (0·13 ± 0·02 and 0·02 ± 0·00 sea lice g−1). Once sea lice became adults, the ventral aorta of each fish was fitted with a Doppler cuff to measure cardiac output ( ̇ ), heart rate ( f H) and stroke volume ( V S) during swimming. Critical swimming speeds ( U crit) of fish with higher sea lice numbers [2·1 ± 0·1 BL (body lengths) s−1] were significantly lower ( P  < 0·05) than fish with lower numbers (2·4 ± 0·1 BL s−1) and controls (sham infected, 2·6 ± 0·1 BL s−1). After swimming, chloride levels in fish with higher sea lice numbers (184·4 ± 11·3 mmol l−1) increased significantly (54%) from levels at rest and were significantly higher than fish with fewer lice (142·0 ± 3·7 mmol l−1) or control fish (159·5 ± 3·5 mmol l−1). The f H of fish with more lice was 9% slower than the other two groups at U crit. This decrease resulted in ̇ not increasing from resting levels. Sublethal infection by sea lice compromised the overall fitness of Atlantic salmon. The level of sea lice infection used in the present study was lower than has previously been reported to be detrimental to wild Atlantic salmon.  相似文献

Studies on amyloid beta (Aβ|), the peptide thought to play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease, have implicated mitochondria in Aβ-mediated neurotoxicity. We used differentiated PC12 cells stably transfected with an inducible green fluorescent protein (GFP) fusion protein containing an N'-terminal mitochondrial targeting sequence (mtGFP), to examine the effects of sub-lethal Aβ on the import of nuclear-encoded proteins to mitochondria. Exposure to sub-lethal Aβ25–35 (10 μmol/L) for 48 h inhibited mtGFP import to mitochondria; average rates decreased by 20 ± 4%. Concomitant with the decline in mtGFP, cytoplasmic mtGFP increased significantly while mtGFP expression and intramitochondrial mtGFP turnover were unchanged. Sub-lethal Aβ1–42 inhibited mtGFP import and increased cytoplasmic mtGFP but only after 96 h. The import of two endogenous nuclear-encoded mitochondrial proteins, mortalin/mtHsp70 and Tom20 also declined. Prior to the decline in import, mitochondrial membrane potential (mmp), and reactive oxygen species levels were unchanged in Aβ-treated cells versus reverse phase controls. Sustained periods of decreased import were associated with decreased mmp, increased reactive oxygen species, increased vulnerability to oxygen-glucose deprivation and altered mitochondrial morphology. These findings suggest that an Aβ-mediated inhibition of mitochondrial protein import, and the consequent mitochondrial impairment, may contribute to Alzheimer's disease.  相似文献

SUMMARY 1. Temporary ponds are inhabited by a variety of invertebrates, of which anostracans are an important group. We studied the lifetables of male and female anostracan Streptocephalus mackini at 3 algal concentrations (0.5 × 106, 1.0 × 106 and 1.5 × 106 cells mL−1).
2. Regardless of sex, S. mackini showed better survivorship at lower food levels. The longest average lifespan observed was 85 ± 2 days for males fed Chlorella at 0.5 × 106 cells mL−1.
3. Both net reproductive rate and generation time decreased with increasing food level. The highest net reproductive rate was about 120 cysts per female. The longest generation time of about 40 days, observed at 0.5 × 106 cells mL−1, was more than three times that at 1.5 × 106 cells mL−1.
4. The rate of population increase ( r ) was nearly the same (0.31 ± 0.06) at high (1.5 × 106 cells mL−1) and intermediate (1.0 × 106 cells mL−1) food levels. The r -value at low food level (0.5 × 106 cells mL−1 of Chlorella ) was 0.20 ± 0.01 per day.  相似文献

1. The palatability of aquatic macrophytes to the snail Lymnaea stagnalis was investigated in the laboratory. Eight species of macrophyte were selected from habitats that differed in either flood disturbance regime or nutrient status.
2. In a non-choice test, single macrophyte species were offered to individual snails. The average amount of plant dry mass consumed per Lymnaea dry mass ranged from 3.6 ± 1.4 (±SE) to 63.6 ± 13.9 mg g–1 day–1 across plant species. In a choice test, all eight plant species were presented simultaneously to sets of five snails. The average total consumption was 66.1 ± 3.8 mg g–1 day–1 and the maximum average consumption for a single plant was 26.2 ± 3.6 mg g–1 day–1.
3. In both tests, the amount consumed by snails differed significantly between the plant species. The species growing in undisturbed habitats were the least consumed. Habitat nutrient status was unrelated to plant palatability.
4. These results suggest that macrophyte species growing in habitats that are rarely disturbed by floods allocate a greater proportion of their resources to resisting herbivory.  相似文献

Background  The potential of Atipamezole (ATI) to reverse Ketamine/Xylazine (KET/XYL) anesthesia in the Olive baboon ( Papio anubis ) was studied.
Methods  Anesthesia was induced with 10 mg/kg KET and 0.5 mg/kg XYL intramuscularly. Mean arousal time (MAT), heart rate (HR), systolic arterial blood pressure (SAP), rectal temperature, respiratory rate (RR), and hemoglobin oxygen saturation (SpO2) were monitored. Baboons were treated with: KET/XYL only, KET/XYL followed by 100 μg/kg ATI or by 200 μg/kg ATI administered 25 minutes after KET/XYL.
Results  Atipamezole rapidly reversed depressed HR and SAP (10 ± 5.2 minutes), RR (5 ± 2 minutes) and SpO2 (3 ± 6 minutes) and significantly decreased MAT (13 ± 2.2 minutes) vs. KET/XYL alone (35 ± 5 minutes). Emesis was absent and salivation was observed after administration of 200 μg/kg ATI only.
Conclusions  Atipamezole at 100 μg/kg is sufficient for rapid and smooth reversal of KET/XYL anesthesia in the Olive baboon with minimal side effects.  相似文献

In this study, we investigate the effects of chronic administration of (−)nicotine on the function of the NMDA-mediated modulation of [3H]dopamine (DA) release in rat prefrontal cortex (PFC) and nucleus accumbens (NAc). In the PFC synaptosomes NMDA in a concentration-dependent manner evoked [3H]DA release in rats chronically treated with vehicle (14 days) with an EC50 of 13.1 ± 2.0 μM. The NMDA-evoked overflow of the [3H]DA in PFC nerve endings of rats treated with (−)nicotine was significantly lower (−43%) than in vehicle treated rats. The EC50 was 9.0 ± 1.4 μM. Exposure of NAc synaptosomes of rats treated with vehicle to NMDA produced an increase in [3H]DA overflow with an EC50 of 14.5 ± 5.5 μM. This effect was significantly enhanced in chronically treated animals. The EC50 was 10.5 ± 0.5 μM. The K+-evoked release of [3H]DA was not modified by the (−)nicotine administration. Both the changes of the NMDA-evoked [3H]DA overflow in the NAc and PFC disappeared after 14 days withdrawal. The results show that chronic (−)nicotine differentially affects the NMDA-mediated [3H]DA release in the PFC and NAc of the rat.  相似文献

The aquifer system of Doñana (SW Spain) represents the most important freshwater source in the Doñana Natural Area. Its spatiotemporal dynamics favours the hydrological connection between surface and subsurface ecosystems, and promotes matter fluxes among the different terrestrial and aquatic systems present here. This aquifer has been intensively studied from a hydrogeological point of view but little is known from an ecological perspective. In order to understand the ecological roles played by microbial communities in this system, we conducted a long-term seasonal study of bacterial abundance, cell biomass, bacterial biomass and functional activities over a 2-year period. Bacterial abundance ranged between 2.11 ± 1.79 × 105 and 8.58 ± 6.99 × 107 bacteria mL−1 groundwater, average cell biomass was estimated to be 77.01 ± 31.56 fgC and bacterial biomass varied between 8.99 ± 4.10 × 10−2 and 5.65 ± 0.70 µgC mL−1. Iron-related bacteria showed the highest activities among the functional groups studied. Moreover, among the variables that usually control spatial distributions of microbial communities in aquifer systems, depth did not have a relevant effect on this aquifer, at least in the range of depths studied, but grain size, probably due to its direct effects on hydrogeological parameters, such as permeability or porosity, appeared to exert moderate control, principally in terms of bacterial abundance. Finally, significant seasonal differences in the means of these microbiological variables were also observed; temperature seems to be the main factor controlling the temporal distribution of microbial communities in this aquifer system.  相似文献

The influence of microbial degradation on the 13C/12C isotope composition of aromatic hydrocarbons is presented using toluene as a model compound. Four different toluene-degrading bacterial strains grown in batch culture with oxygen, nitrate, ferric iron or sulphate as electron acceptors were studied as representatives of different environmental redox conditions potentially prevailing in contaminated aquifers. The biological degradation induced isotope shifts in the residual, non-degraded toluene fraction and the kinetic isotope fractionation factors αC for toluene degradation by Pseudomonas putida (1.0026 ± 0.00017), Thauera aromatica (1.0017 ± 0.00015), Geobacter metallireducens (1.0018 ± 0.00029) and the sulphate-reducing strain TRM1 (1.0017 ± 0.00016) were in the same range for all four species, although they use at least two different degradation pathways. A similar 13C/12C isotope fractionation factor (αC = 1.0015 ± 0.00015) was observed in situ in a non-sterile soil column in which toluene was degraded under sulphate-reducing conditions. No carbon isotope shifts resulting from soil–hydrocarbon interactions were observed in a non-degrading soil column control with aquifer material under the same conditions. The results imply that microbial degradation of toluene can produce a 13C/12C isotope fractionation in the residual hydrocarbon fraction under different environmental conditions.  相似文献

The trade of wild epiphytic orchids has put many populations at risk of extinction; however, little is known about the impact of repeated harvesting of individuals on population dynamics. A population viability analysis (PVA) was developed to simulate the impact of harvesting on the risk of extinction of a population of an epiphytic orchid that is sold in Mexican markets. In January 2004, 388 individuals of Guarianthe aurantiaca were labeled and measured. The same individuals were measured again in December 2005 and December 2006. Capsule production and mortality were also recorded. Deterministic (d) and stochastic (s) matrix models were developed to estimate the population growth rate (λ). A PVA was developed to evaluate the probability of extinction over a 100-year period, given a threshold of 5% of the initial population and different harvest intensities of G. aurantiaca . The λd values were statistically indistinguishable from unity (0.989 ± 0.103 for 2004–2005; 0.990 ± 0.087 for 2005–2006); the λs values were below unity (0.988 ± 0.001). The reproductive stages had the highest elasticity values, whereas the persistence of individuals in their category was the demographic process with the highest elasticity. A life table response experiment showed that the difference in the λd values was accounted for by the positive contribution of the stasis of individuals in category j and the retrogression of individuals in category r1 to category j. The extinction risk was 100% when more than 5% of the reproductive individuals were harvested. The results suggest that this G. aurantiaca population is in a precarious equilibrium and harvesting should be controlled and restricted to immature individuals.  相似文献

In most studies concerning the carbon (C) exchange between soil and atmosphere only the topsoil (0–0.3 m) is taken into account. However, it has been shown that important amounts of stable soil organic carbon (SOC) are also stored at greater depth. Here, we developed a quantitative model to estimate the evolution of the distribution of SOC with depth between 1960 (database 'Aardewerk') and 2006 in northern Belgium. This temporal analysis was conducted under different land use, texture and drainage conditions. The results indicate that intensified land management practices seriously affect the SOC status of the soil. The increase in plough depth and a change in crop rotation result in a significant decrease of C near the surface for dry silt loam cropland soils, (i.e. 1.02 ± 0.23 kg C m−2 in the top 0.3 m between 1960 and 2006). In wet to extremely wet grasslands, topsoil SOC decreased significantly, indicating a negative influence of intensive soil drainage on SOC stock. This resulted in a decline of SOC between 1960 and 2006 in the top 1 m, ranging from 3.99 ± 2.57 kg C m−2 in extremely wet silt loam soils to 2.04 ± 2.08 kg C m−2 in wet sandy soils. A slight increase of SOC stock is observed under dry to moderately wet grasslands at greater depths corresponding to increased livestock densities in the region. The increase of SOC in the top 1 m under grassland ranges from 0.65 ± 1.39 kg C m−2 in well drained silt loam soils to 2.59 ± 6.49 kg C m−2 in moderately drained silt loam soils over entire period.  相似文献

The effects of stress on plasma catecholamines (CA) and capacity for tissue accumulation of CA were studied in cardiac and skeletal muscle of cultured Atlantic salmon ( Salmo salar L.). Adrenaline (A) and noradrenaline (NA) were quantified by high performance liquid chromatography.
Plasma A and NA levels were 56±10 nmoll−1 and 77±17 nmoll−1 (± s.e.m. ), respectively, in a control group living under normal rearing conditions in a fish farm. Following a ±3 h period of pre-slaughter crowding and handling in the fish farm, plasma A reached 221 ± 72 nmol1−1 with no increase in plasma NA. An 0.5 h period of struggling out of water led to even higher level of plasma A (480 ± 89 nmol1−1), without change in NA.
Skeletal muscle was low in CA (A, 0.07 ± 0.02 and NA, 0.06 ± 0.01 nmol g−1 wet wt). Tissue CA was higher in the atrium (A, 0.47 ± 0.04 and NA 0.94 ± 0.10 nmol g−1) than in the ventricle (A, 0.25 ± 0.03 and NA, 0.30 ± 0.02 nmol g−1). The 0.5 h period out of water and the 0.5-3 h period of pre-slaughter crowding led to accumulation of A, but not NA, in the atrium.
These data show that A, released during stress, accumulates in an undegraded form in the atrial tissue of the Atlantic salmon. This suggests a potent uptake mechanism for A in the atria presumably in the sympathetic nerve terminals. The acumulation of A in the atrium appears to reflect the period of high plasma A during stress.  相似文献

The Black-vented Shearwater Puffinus opisthomelas is endemic to the Pacific coast of Baja California, Mexico. We studied the breeding biology of this species at Natividad Island in 1997 and 1998. The colony at Natividad Island covers approximately 2.5 km2 and we estimated there to be 114 455 (± 27 520 95% CI) burrows in the colony. In 1997 burrow occupancy was 66.9%, providing a population estimate of 76 570 (± 18 411 95% CI) breeding pairs, representing about 95% of the world's population of this species. In 1997 the peak in egg laying occurred in early March and hatching began on 7 May. The incubation period averaged 51 days (± 6 sd) and chick rearing averaged 69 days (± 3 sd). In 1998 burrow occupancy was lower (19.6%) and nest initiation was later (peak egg laying in mid-April), perhaps a result of El Niño conditions that prevailed in the Eastern Pacific at that time. We calculated that the development of the town and roads on Natividad Island have destroyed over 15% (26 532 burrows) of the breeding habitat on the island.  相似文献

The sweet potato whitefly Bemisia tabaci (WF) can be controlled by two commercial neem products, NeemAzal-T/S® (1% azadirachtin) for foliar application, and NeemAzal-U (17% azadirachtin) for soil application, alongwith two biorational products of microbial origin, Abamectin (avermectin) and Success® (spinosad). Side effects of these products were tested in a laboratory bioassay against a native aphelinid, Eretmocerus warrae (EW). Eggs and early larval instars of the parasitoid, commonly found outside the host body, were highly susceptible to foliar spray of neem with only 8%, 18% and 55% emergences of adults from treated eggs. larval and pupal stages respectively at recommended dose-rates of 5 ml/l and 1%, 8% and 40% at twice recommend dose-rate (10 ml/l). Soil application with NeemAzal-U marginally affected EW. At highest tested dose-rate of 3.0 g/l, 46%, 64% and 81% emergence was recorded after treatement of plants harbouring WF parasitized by egg, larval and pupal stages of EW respectively. In contrast to neem application, Success® and Abamectin caused high mortality in development stages of the parasitoids. In particular, abamectin was highly toxic to the parasitoids with less than 1% emergence from either of the three development stages if treated with 1–2 ml/l.  相似文献
