In this study the thickness of the PTB7‐Th:PC71BM bulk heterojunction (BHJ) film and the PF3N‐2TNDI electron transport layer (ETL) is systematically tuned to achieve polymer solar cells (PSCs) with optimized power conversion efficiency (PCE) of over 9% when an ultrathin BHJ of 50 nm is used. Optical modeling suggests that the high PCE is attributed to the optical spacer effect from the ETL, which not only maximizes the optical field within the BHJ film but also facilitates the formation of a more homogeneously distributed charge generation profile across the BHJ film. Experimentally it is further proved that the extra photocurrent produced at the PTB7‐Th/PF3N‐2TNDI interface also contributes to the improved performance. Taking advantage of this high performance thin film device structure, one step further is taken to fabricate semitransparent PSCs (ST‐PSCs) by using an ultrathin transparent Ag cathode to replace the thick Ag mirror cathode, yielding a series of high performance ST‐PSCs with PCEs over 6% and average visible transmittance between 20% and 30%. These ST‐PSCs also possess remarkable transparency color perception and rendering properties, which are state‐of‐the‐art and fulfill the performance criteria for potential use as power‐generating windows in near future.  相似文献

Polymer solar cells (PSCs) are fabricated without solvent additives using a low‐bandgap polymer, PBDTTT‐C‐T, as the donor and [6,6]‐phenyl‐C61‐butyric‐acid‐methyl‐ester (PC61BM) as the acceptor. Donor‐acceptor blend and layer‐by‐layer (LL) solution process are used to form active layers. Relative to the blend devices, the LL devices exhibit stronger absorption, better vertical phase separation, higher hole and electron mobilities, and better charge extraction at correct electrodes. As a result, after thermal annealing the LL devices exhibit an average power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 6.86%, which is much higher than that of the blend devices (4.31%). The best PCE of the LL devices is 7.13%, which is the highest reported for LL processed PSCs and among the highest reported for PC61BM‐based single‐junction PSCs.  相似文献

A novel wide‐bandgap electron‐donating copolymer containing an electron‐deficient, difluorobenzotriazole building block with a siloxane‐terminated side chain is developed. The resulting polymer, poly{(4,8‐bis(4,5‐dihexylthiophen‐2‐yl)benzo[1,2‐b:4,5‐b′]dithiophene‐co‐4,7‐di(thiophen‐2‐yl)‐5,6‐difluoro‐2‐(6‐(1,1,1,3,5,5,5‐heptamethyltri‐siloxan‐3‐yl)hexyl)‐2H‐benzo[d][1,2,3]triazole} (PBTA‐Si), is used to successfully fabricate high‐performance, ternary, all‐polymer solar cells (all‐PSCs) insensitive to the active layer thickness. An impressively high fill factor of ≈76% is achieved with various ternary‐blending ratios. The optimized all‐PSCs attain a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 9.17% with an active layer thickness of 350 nm and maintain a PCE over 8% for thicknesses over 400 nm, which is the highest reported efficiency for thick all‐PSCs. These results can be attributed to efficient charge transfer, additional energy transfer, high and balanced charge transport, and weak recombination behavior in the photoactive layer. Moreover, the photoactive layers of the ternary all‐PSCs are processed in a nonhalogenated solvent, 2‐methyltetrahydrofuran, which greatly improves their compatibility with large‐scale manufacturing.  相似文献

CsPbI2Br is emerging as a promising all‐inorganic material for perovskite solar cells (PSCs) due to its more stable lattice structure and moisture resistance compared to CsPbI3, although its device performance is still much behind this counterpart. Herein, a preannealing process is developed and systematically investigated to achieve high‐quality CsPbI2Br films by regulating the nucleation and crystallization of perovskite. The preannealing temperature and time are specifically optimized for a dopant‐free poly(3‐hexylthiophene) (P3HT)‐based device to target dopant‐induced drastic performance degradation for spiro‐OMeTAD‐based devices. The resulting P3HT‐based device exhibits comparable power conversion efficiency (PCE) to spiro‐OMeTAD‐based devices but much enhanced ambient stability with over 95% PCE after 1300 h. A diphenylamine derivative is introduced as a buffer layer to improve the energy‐level mismatch between CsPbI2Br and P3HT. A record‐high PCE of 15.50% for dopant‐free P3HT‐based CsPbI2Br PSCs is achieved by alleviating the open‐circuit voltage loss with the buffer layer. These results demonstrate that the preannealing processing together with a suitable buffer layer are applicable strategies for developing dopant‐free P3HT PSCs with high efficiency and stability.  相似文献

The record efficiency of the state‐of‐the‐art polymer solar cells (PSCs) is rapidly increasing, due to the discovery of high‐performance photoactive donor and acceptor materials. However, strong questions remain as to whether such high‐efficiency PSCs can be produced by scalable processes. This paper reports a high power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 13.5% achieved with single‐junction ternary PSCs based on PTB7‐Th, PC71BM, and COi8DFIC fabricated by slot‐die coating, which shows the highest PCE ever reported in PSCs fabricated by a scalable process. To understand the origin of the high performance of the slot‐die coated device, slot‐die coated photoactive films and devices are systematically investigated. These results indicate that the good performance of the slot‐die PSCs can be due to a favorable molecule‐structure and film‐morphology change by introducing 1,8‐diiodooctane and heat treatment, which can lead to improved charge transport with reduced carrier recombination. The optimized condition is then used for the fabrication of large‐area modules and also for roll‐to‐roll fabrication. The slot‐die coated module with 30 cm2 active‐area and roll‐to‐roll produced flexible PSC has shown 8.6% and 9.6%, respectively. These efficiencies are the highest in each category and demonstrate the strong potential of the slot‐die coated ternary system for commercial applications.  相似文献

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have recently experienced a rapid rise in power conversion efficiency (PCE), but the prevailing PSCs with conventional mesoscopic or planar device architectures still contain nonideal perovskite/hole‐transporting‐layer (HTL) interfaces, limiting further enhancement in PCE and device stability. In this work, CsPbBr3 perovskite nanowires are employed for modifying the surface electronic states of bulk perovskite thin films, forming compositionally‐graded heterojunction at the perovskite/HTL interface of PSCs. The nanowire morphology is found to be key to achieving lateral homogeneity in the perovskite film surface states resulting in a near‐ideal graded heterojunction. The hidden role of such lateral homogeneity on the performance of graded‐heterojunction PSCs is revealed for the first time. The resulting PSCs show high PCE up to 21.4%, as well as high operational stability, which is superior to control PSCs fabricated without CsPbBr3‐nanocrystals modification and with CsPbBr3‐nanocubes modification. This study demonstrates the promise of controlled hybridization of perovskite nanowires and bulk thin films for more efficient and stable PSCs.  相似文献

Semitransparent perovskite solar cells (st‐PSCs) have received remarkable interest in recent years because of their great potential in applications for solar window, tandem solar cells, and flexible photovoltaics. However, all reported st‐PSCs require expensive transparent conducting oxides (TCOs) or metal‐based thin films made by vacuum deposition, which is not cost effective for large‐scale fabrication: the cost of TCOs is estimated to occupy ≈75% of the manufacturing cost of PSCs. To address this critical challenge, this study reports a low‐temperature and vacuum‐free strategy for the fabrication of highly efficient TCO‐free st‐PSCs. The TCO‐free st‐PSC on glass exhibits 13.9% power conversion efficiency (PCE), and the four‐terminal tandem cell made with the st‐PSC top cell and c‐Si bottom cell shows an overall PCE of 19.2%. Due to the low processing temperature, the fabrication of flexible st‐PSCs is demonstrated on polyethylene terephthalate and polyimide, which show excellent stability under repeated bending or even crumbing.  相似文献

To realize high power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) in green‐solvent‐processed all‐polymer solar cells (All‐PSCs), a long alkyl chain modified perylene diimide (PDI)‐based polymer acceptor PPDIODT with superior solubility in nonhalogenated solvents is synthesized. A properly matched PBDT‐TS1 is selected as the polymer donor due to the red‐shifted light absorption and low‐lying energy level in order to achieve the complementary absorption spectrum and matched energy level between polymer donor and polymer acceptor. By utilizing anisole as the processing solvent, an optimal efficiency of 5.43% is realized in PBDT‐TS1/PPDIODT‐based All‐PSC with conventional configuration, which is comparable with that of All‐PSCs processed by the widely used binary solvent. Due to the utilization of an inverted device configuration, the PCE is further increased to over 6.5% efficiency. Notably, the best‐performing PCE of 6.58% is the highest value for All‐PSCs employing PDI‐based polymer acceptors and green‐solvent‐processed All‐PSCs. The excellent photovoltaic performance is mainly attributed to a favorable vertical phase distribution, a higher exciton dissociation efficiency (Pdiss) in the blend film, and a higher electrode carrier collection efficiency. Overall, the combination of rational molecular designing, material selection, and device engineering will motivate the efficiency breakthrough in green‐solvent‐processed All‐PSCs.  相似文献

Recently, considerable progress is achieved in lab prototype perovskite solar cells (PSCs); however, the stability of outdoor applications of PSCs remains a challenge due to the high sensitivity of perovskite material under moist and ultraviolet (UV) light conditions. In this work, the UV photostability of PSC devices is improved by incorporating a photon downshifting layer—SrAl2O4: Eu2+, Dy3+ (SAED)—prepared using the pulsed laser deposition approach. Light‐induced deep trap states in the photoactive layer are depressed, and UV light‐induced device degradation is inhibited after the SAED modification. Optimized power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 17.8% is obtained through the enhanced light harvesting and reduced carrier recombination provided by SAED. More importantly, a solar energy storage effect due to the long‐persistent luminescence of SAED is obtained after light illumination is turned off. The introduction of downconverting material with long‐persistent luminescence in PSCs not only represents a new strategy to improve PCE and light stability by photoconversion from UV to visible light but also provides a new paradigm for solar energy storage.  相似文献

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have been emerging as a breakthrough photovoltaic technology, holding unprecedented promise for low‐cost, high‐efficiency renewable electricity generation. However, potential toxicity associated with the state‐of‐the‐art lead‐containing PSCs has become a major concern. The past research in the development of lead‐free PSCs has met with mixed success. Herein, the promise of coarse‐grained B‐γ‐CsSnI3 perovskite thin films as light absorber for efficient lead‐free PSCs is demonstrated. Thermally‐driven solid‐state coarsening of B‐γ‐CsSnI3 perovskite grains employed here is accompanied by an increase of tin‐vacancy concentration in their crystal structure, as supported by first‐principles calculations. The optimal device architecture for the efficient photovoltaic operation of these B‐γ‐CsSnI3 thin films is identified through exploration of several device architectures. Via modulation of the B‐γ‐CsSnI3 grain coarsening, together with the use of the optimal PSC architecture, planar heterojunction‐depleted B‐γ‐CsSnI3 PSCs with power conversion efficiency up to 3.31% are achieved without the use of any additives. The demonstrated strategies provide guidelines and prospects for developing future high‐performance lead‐free PVs.  相似文献

Stability has become the main obstacle for the commercialization of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) despite the impressive power conversion efficiency (PCE). Poor crystallization and ion migration of perovskite are the major origins of its degradation under working condition. Here, high‐performance PSCs incorporated with pyridine‐2‐carboxylic lead salt (PbPyA2) are fabricated. The pyridine and carboxyl groups on PbPyA2 can not only control crystallization but also passivate grain boundaries (GBs), which result in the high‐quality perovskite film with larger grains and fewer defects. In addition, the strong interaction among the hydrophobic PbPyA2 molecules and perovskite GBs acts as barriers to ion migration and component volatilization when exposed to external stresses. Consequently, superior optoelectronic perovskite films with improved thermal and moisture stability are obtained. The resulting device shows a champion efficiency of 19.96% with negligible hysteresis. Furthermore, thermal (90 °C) and moisture (RH 40–60%) stability are improved threefold, maintaining 80% of initial efficiency after aging for 480 h. More importantly, the doped device exhibits extraordinary improvement of operational stability and remains 93% of initial efficiency under maximum power point (MPP) tracking for 540 h.  相似文献

A new n‐type organic semiconductor (n‐OS) acceptor IDTPC with n‐hexyl side chains is developed. Compared to side chains with 4‐hexylphenyl counterparts (IDTCN), such a design endows the acceptor of IDTPC with higher electron mobility, more ordered face‐on molecular packing, and lower band gap. Therefore, the IDTPC‐based polymer solar cells (PSCs) with a newly developed wide bandgap polymer PTQ10 as donor exhibit the maximum power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 12.2%, a near 65% improvement in PCE relative to the IDTCN‐based control device. Most importantly, the IDTPC‐based device is insensitive to the thickness of the active layer from 70 to 505 nm, which still gives a PCE of 10.0% with the active‐layer thickness of 400 nm. To the best of the authors' knowledge, a PCE of 10.0% is the highest value for the nonfullerene PSCs with an active layer thicker than 400 nm. These results reveal that the blend of PTQ10 and IDTPC exhibits great potential for highly efficient nonfullerene PSCs and large‐area device fabrication.  相似文献

Enhanced power conversion efficiency (PCE) is reported in inverted polymer solar cells when an electron‐rich polymer nanolayer (poly(ethyleneimine) (PEI)) is placed on the surface of an electron‐collecting buffer layer (ZnO). The active layer is made with bulk heterojunction films of poly[[4,8‐bis[(2‐ethylhexyl)oxy]benzo[1,2‐b:4,5‐b′]dithiophene‐2,6‐diyl][3‐fluoro‐2‐[(2‐ethylhexyl)carbonyl]thieno[3,4‐b]thiophenediyl]] (PTB7) and [6,6]‐phenyl‐C71‐butyric acid methyl ester (PC71BM). The thickness of the PEI nanolayer is controlled to be 2 nm to minimize its insulating effect, which is confirmed by X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy and optical absorption measurements. The Kelvin probe and ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy measurements demonstrate that the enhanced PCE by introducing the PEI nanolayer is attributed to the lowered conduction band energy of the ZnO layer via the formation of an interfacial dipole layer at the interfaces between the ZnO layer and the PEI nanolayer. The PEI nanolayer also improves the surface roughness of the ZnO layer so that the device series resistance can be noticeably decreased. As a result, all solar cell parameters including short circuit current density, open circuit voltage, fill factor, and shunt resistance are improved, leading to the PCE increase up to ≈8.9%, which is close to the best PCE reported using conjugated polymer electrolyte films.  相似文献

Photovoltaic performance of polymer solar cells based on poly(3‐hexylthiophene) (P3HT) as the donor and indene‐C70 bisadduct (IC70BA) as the acceptor is improved by adding 3 vol% 3‐methylthiophene (MT) or 3‐hexylthiophene (HT) as processing additives. The results of UV‐vis absorption spectroscopy, X‐ray diffraction analysis and atomic force microscopy indicate that with the MT or HT processing additive, the active layer of the blend of P3HT/IC70BA showed strengthened absorbance, enhanced crystallinity and improved film morphology. The power conversion efficiency (PCE) of the PSCs was improved from 5.80% for the device without the additive to 6.35% for the device with HT additive and to 6.69% with MT additive. The PCE of 6.69% is the top value reported so far for the PSCs based on P3HT.  相似文献

All‐polymer solar cells (all‐PSCs) are attractive as alternatives to fabricate thermally and mechanically stable solar cells, especially with recent improvements in their power conversion efficiency (PCE). In this work, efficient all‐PSCs with near‐infrared response (up to 850 nm) are developed using newly designed regioregular polymer donors with relatively narrow optical gap. These all‐PSCs systems achieve PCEs up to 6.0% after incorporating fluorine into the polymer backbone. More importantly, these polymers exhibit absorbance that is complementary to previously reported wide bandgap polymer donors. Thus, the superior properties of the newly designed polymers afford opportunities to fabricate the first spectrally matched all‐polymer tandem solar cells with high performance. A PCE of 8.3% is then demonstrated which is the highest efficiency so far for all‐polymer tandem solar cells. The design of narrow bandgap polymers provides new directions to enhance the PCE of emerging single‐junction and tandem all polymer solar cells.  相似文献

Organic–inorganic hybrid perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are a promising photovoltaic technology that has rapidly developed in recent years. Nevertheless, a large number of ionic defects within perovskite absorber can serve as non‐radiative recombination center to limit the performance of PSCs. Here, organic donor‐π‐acceptor (D‐π‐A) molecules with different electron density distributions are employed to efficiently passivate the defects in the perovskite films. The X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis shows that the strong electron donating N,N‐dibutylaminophenyl unit in a molecule causes an increase in the electron density of the passivation site that is a carboxylate group, resulting in better binding with the defects of under‐coordinated Pb2+ cations. Carrier lifetime in the perovskite films measured by the time‐resolved photoluminescence spectrum is also prolonged by an increase in donation ability of the D‐π‐A molecules. As a consequence, these benefits contribute to an increase of 80 mV in the open circuit voltage of the devices, enabling a maximum power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 20.43%, in comparison with PCE of 18.52% for the control device. The authors' findings provide a novel strategy for efficient defect passivation in the perovskite solar cells based on controlling the electronic configuration of passivation molecules.  相似文献

State‐of‐the‐art perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have bandgaps that are invariably larger than 1.45 eV, which limits their theoretically attainable power conversion efficiency. The emergent mixed‐(Pb, Sn) perovskites with bandgaps of 1.2–1.3 eV are ideal for single‐junction solar cells according to the Shockley–Queisser limit, and they have the potential to deliver higher efficiency. Nevertheless, the high chemical activity of Sn(II) in these perovskites makes it extremely challenging to control their physical properties and chemical stability, thereby leading to PSCs with relatively low PCE and stability. In this work, the authors employ the Lewis‐adduct SnF2·3FACl additive in the solution‐processing of ideal‐bandgap halide perovskites (IBHPs), and prepare uniform large‐grain perovskite thin films containing continuously functionalized grain boundaries with the stable SnF2 phase. Such Sn(II)‐rich grain‐boundary networks significantly enhance the physical properties and chemical stability of the IBHP thin films. Based on this approach, PSCs with an ideal bandgap of 1.3 eV are fabricated with a promising efficiency of 15.8%, as well as enhanced stability. The concept of Lewis‐adduct‐mediated grain‐boundary functionalization in IBHPs presented here points to a new chemical route for approaching the Shockley–Queisser limit in future stable PSCs.  相似文献

The structure evolution of oligomer fused‐ring electron acceptors (FREAs) toward high efficiency of as‐cast polymer solar cells (PSCs) is reported. First, a series of FREAs (IC‐(1‐3)IDT‐IC) based on indacenodithiophene (IDT) oligomers as cores are designed and synthesized, effects of IDT number (1–3) on their basic optical and electronic properties are investigated, and more importantly, the relationship between device performance of as‐cast PSCs and donor(D)/acceptor(A) matching (absorption, energy level, morphology, and charge transport) of IC‐(1‐3)IDT‐IC acceptors and two representative polymer donors, PTB7‐Th and PDBT‐T1 is surveyed. Then, the most promising D/A system (PDBT‐T1/IC‐1IDT‐IC) with the best D/A harmony among the six D/A combinations, which yields a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 7.39%, is found. Finally, changing the side‐chains in IC‐1IDT‐IC from alkylphenyl to alkyl enhances the PCE from 7.39% to 9.20%.  相似文献

In most current state‐of‐the‐art perovskite solar cells (PSCs), high‐temperature (≈500 °C)‐sintered metal oxides are employed as electron‐transporting layers (ETLs). To lower the device processing temperature, the development of low‐temperature‐processable ETL materials (such as solution‐processed ZnO) has received growing attention. However, thus far, the use of solution‐processed ZnO is limited because the reverse decomposition reaction that occurs at ZnO/perovskite interfaces significantly degrades the charge collection and stability of PSCs. In this work, the reverse decomposition reaction is successfully retarded by sulfur passivation of solution‐processed ZnO. The sulfur passivation of ZnO by a simple chemical means, efficiently reduces the oxygen‐deficient defects and surface oxygen‐containing groups, thus effectively preventing reverse decomposition reactions during and after formation of the perovskite active layers. Using the low‐temperature‐processed sulfur‐passivated ZnO (ZnO–S), perovskite layers with higher crystallinity and larger grain size are obtained, while the charge extraction at the ZnO/perovskite interface is significantly improved. As a result, the ZnO–S‐based PSCs achieve substantially improved power‐conversion‐efficiency (PCE) (19.65%) and long‐term air‐storage stability (90% retention after 40 d) compared with pristine ZnO‐based PSCs (16.51% and 1% retention after 40 d). Notably, the PCE achieved is the highest recorded (19.65%) for low‐temperature ZnO‐based PSCs.  相似文献

The room temperature (RT) processability of the photoactive layers in polymer solar cells (PSCs) from halogen‐free solvent along with their highly reproducible power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) and intrinsic thickness tolerance are extremely desirable for the large‐area roll‐to‐roll (R2R) production. However, most of the photoactive materials in PSCs require elevated processing temperatures due to their strong aggregation, which are unfavorable for the industrial R2R manufacturing of PSCs. These limiting factors for the commercialization of PSCs are alleviated by synthesizing random terpolymers with components of (2‐decyltetradecyl)thiophen‐2‐yl)naphtho[1,2‐c:5,6‐c′]bis[1,2,5]thiadiazole and bithiophene substituted with methyl thiophene‐3‐carboxylate (MTC). In contrast to the temperature‐dependent PNTz4T polymer, the resulting random terpolymers (PNTz4T‐MTC) show better solubility, slightly reduced crystallinity and aggregation, and weaker intermolecular interaction, thus enabling PNTz4T‐MTC to be processed at RT from a halogen‐free solvent. Particularly, the PNTz4T‐5MTC‐based photoactive layer exhibits an excellent PCE of 9.66%, which is among the highest reported PCEs for RT and ecofriendly halogen‐free solvent processed fullerene‐based PSCs, and a thickness tolerance with a PCE exceeding 8% from 100 to 520 nm. Finally, large‐area modules fabricated with the PNTz4T and PNTz4T‐5MTC polymer have shown 4.29% and 6.61% PCE respectively, with an area as high as 54.45 cm2 in air.  相似文献
