Rational design and preparation of SnO2‐based materials with superior electrochemical performance for lithium‐ion batteries are highly desirable. In this work, the synthesis of SnO2/nitrogen‐doped carbon (SnO2/NC) submicroboxes with excellent lithium storage properties is reported. The as‐synthesized SnO2/NC submicroboxes are highly porous with a high specific surface area of 125 m2 g?1, well‐defined hollow structure (around 400 nm in size) with a shell thickness of 40 nm, and ultrasmall SnO2 nanoparticles uniformly coated with nitrogen‐doped carbon layer. As a result, the SnO2/NC submicroboxes show outstanding electrochemical performance as an anode material for lithium‐ion batteries. A high reversible capacity of 491 mAh g?1 can be retained after 100 cycles at a current density of 0.5 A g?1.  相似文献

A hybrid nanoarchitecture aerogel composed of WS2 nanosheets and carbon nanotube‐reduced graphene oxide (CNT‐rGO) with ordered microchannel three‐dimensional (3D) scaffold structure was synthesized by a simple solvothermal method followed by freeze‐drying and post annealing process. The 3D ordered microchannel structures not only provide good electronic transportation routes, but also provide excellent ionic conductive channels, leading to an enhanced electrochemical performance as anode materials both for lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) and sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs). Significantly, WS2/CNT‐rGO aerogel nanostructure can deliver a specific capacity of 749 mA h g?1 at 100 mA g?1 and a high first‐cycle coulombic efficiency of 53.4% as the anode material of LIBs. In addition, it also can deliver a capacity of 311.4 mA h g?1 at 100 mA g?1, and retain a capacity of 252.9 mA h g?1 at 200 mA g?1 after 100 cycles as the anode electrode of SIBs. The excellent electrochemical performance is attributed to the synergistic effect between the WS2 nanosheets and CNT‐rGO scaffold network and rational design of 3D ordered structure. These results demonstrate the potential applications of ordered CNT‐rGO aerogel platform to support transition‐metal‐dichalcogenides (i.e., WS2) for energy storage devices and open up a route for material design for future generation energy storage devices.  相似文献

The fabrication of ultrasmall and high‐content SnO2 nanocrystals anchored on doped graphene can endow SnO2 with superior electrochemical properties. Herein, an effective strategy, involving molecular engineering of a layer‐by‐layer assembly technique, is proposed to homogeneously anchor SnO2 nanocrystals on nitrogen/sulfur codoped graphene (NSGS), which serves as an advanced anode material in lithium/sodium‐ion batteries (LIBs/SIBs). Benefiting from novel design and specific structure, the optimized NSGS for LIBs displays high initial capacity (2123.9 mAh g?1 at 0.1 A g?1), long‐term cycling performance (only 0.8% loss after 500 cycles), and good rate capability (477.4 mAh g?1 at 5 A g?1). In addition, the optimized NSGS for SIBs also delivers high initial capacity (791.7 mAh g?1 at 0.1 A g?1) and high reversible capacity (180.2 mAh g?1 after 500 cycles at 0.5 A g?1). Meanwhile, based on the detailed analysis of phase transition and electrochemical reaction kinetics, the reaction mechanisms of NSGS in LIBs and SIBs as well as the distinction in LIBs/SIBs are clearly articulated. Notably, to further explore the practical application, Li/Na+ full cells are also assembled by coupling the optimized NSGS anode with LiCoO2 and Na3V2(PO4)3/C cathodes, respectively.  相似文献

Superior reaction reversibility of electrode materials is urgently pursued for improving the energy density and lifespan of batteries. Tin dioxide (SnO2) is a promising anode material for alkali‐ion batteries, having a high theoretical lithium storage capacity of 1494 mAh g? based on the reactions of SnO2 + 4Li+ + 4e? ? Sn + 2Li2O and Sn + 4.4Li+ + 4.4e? ? Li4.4Sn. The coarsening of Sn nanoparticles into large particles induced reaction reversibility degradation has been demonstrated as the essential failure mechanism of SnO2 electrodes. Here, three key strategies for inhibiting Sn coarsening to enhance the reaction reversibility of SnO2 are presented. First, encapsulating SnO2 nanoparticles in physical barriers of carbonaceous materials, conductive polymers or inorganic materials can robustly prevent Sn coarsening among the wrapped SnO2 nanoparticles. Second, constructing hierarchical, porous or hollow structured SnO2 particles with stable void boundaries can hinder Sn coarsening between the void‐divided SnO2 subunits. Third, fabricating SnO2‐based heterogeneous composites consisting of metals, metal oxides or metal sulfides can introduce abundant heterophase interfaces in cycled electrodes that impede Sn coarsening among the isolated SnO2 crystalline domains. Finally, a perspective on the future prospect of the structural/compositional designs of SnO2 as anode of alkali‐ion batteries is highlighted.  相似文献

A simple ball‐milling method is used to synthesize a tin oxide‐silicon carbide/few‐layer graphene core‐shell structure in which nanometer‐sized SnO2 particles are uniformly dispersed on a supporting SiC core and encapsulated with few‐layer graphene coatings by in situ mechanical peeling. The SnO2‐SiC/G nanocomposite material delivers a high reversible capacity of 810 mA h g?1 and 83% capacity retention over 150 charge/discharge cycles between 1.5 and 0.01 V at a rate of 0.1 A g?1. A high reversible capacity of 425 mA h g?1 also can be obtained at a rate of 2 A g?1. When discharged (Li extraction) to a higher potential at 3.0 V (vs. Li/Li+), the SnO2‐SiC/G nanocomposite material delivers a reversible capacity of 1451 mA h g?1 (based on the SnO2 mass), which corresponds to 97% of the expected theoretical capacity (1494 mA h g?1, 8.4 equivalent of lithium per SnO2), and exhibits good cyclability. This result suggests that the core‐shell nanostructure can achieve a completely reversible transformation from Li4.4Sn to SnO2 during discharging (i.e., Li extraction by dealloying and a reversible conversion reaction, generating 8.4 electrons). This suggests that simple mechanical milling can be a powerful approach to improve the stability of high‐performance electrode materials involving structural conversion and transformation.  相似文献

A nanostructured manganese fluoride is successfully synthesized for the first time through a facile one‐step solvothermal method. Ionic liquid (IL) 1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (BmimBF4) as fluorine source and manganese (II) acetate tetrahydrate (Mn(CH3COO)2·4H2O) as manganese source are used. By controlling the amount of manganese source and both the reaction time and temperature, pure phase tetragonal MnF2 with a uniformly distributed nanocrystalline of 100–300 nm can be obtained. A possible formation mechanism related to the role of the IL is proposed. Electrochemical performance of MnF2 nanocrystals as anodes for rechargeable lithium batteries is investigated. A low discharge plateau around 0.6 V at 0.1 C of the first cycle is obtained for lithium uptake reactions with a reversible discharge capacity as high as 300 mAh g?1. The new MnF2 anode is found to deliver significantly improved cycling performance than conventional conversion reaction electrodes with a capacity retention of 237 mAh g?1 at 10 C even after 5000 cycles, indicating its promising utilization as anode material for future lithium‐ion batteries with long cycle life. High‐resolution transmission electron microscopy and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy analyses for lithiated and delithiated MnF2 electrodes are used to reveal the conversion mechanism for the reversible electrochemical reaction of MnF2 with Li.  相似文献

The exploration of sodium ion batteries (SIBs) is a profound challenge due to the rich sodium abundance and limited supply of lithium on earth. Here, amorphous SnO2/graphene aerogel (a‐SnO2/GA) nanocomposites have been successfully synthesized via a hydrothermal method for use as anode materials in SIBs. The designed annealing process produces crystalline SnO2/graphene aerogel (c‐SnO2/GA) nanocomposites. For the first time, the significant effects of SnO2 crystallinity on sodium storage performance are studied in detail. Notably, a‐SnO2/GA is more effective than c‐SnO2/GA in overcoming electrode degradation from large volume changes associated with charge–discharge processes. Surprisingly, the amorphous SnO2 delivers a high specific capacity of 380.2 mAh g?1 after 100 cycles at a current density of 50 mA g?1, which is almost three times as much as for crystalline SnO2 (138.6 mAh g?1). The impressive electrochemical performance of amorphous SnO2 can be attributed to the intrinsic isotropic nature, the enhanced Na+ diffusion coefficient, and the strong interaction between amorphous SnO2 and GA. In addition, amorphous SnO2 particles with the smaller size better function to relieve the volume expansion/shrinkage. This study provides a significant research direction aiming to increase the electrochemical performance of the anode materials used in SIBs.  相似文献

Efficient synthetic methods to produce high‐performance electrode‐active materials are crucial for developing energy storage devices for large‐scale applications, such as hybrid supercapacitors (HSCs). Here, an effective approach to obtain controllable carbon‐encapsulated T‐Nb2O5 nanocrystals (NCs) is presented, based on the solvothermal treatment of NbCl5 in acetophenone. Two separate condensation reactions of acetophenone generate an intimate and homogeneous mixture of Nb2O5 particles and 1,3,5‐triphenylbenzene (TPB), which acts as a unique carbon precursor. The electrochemical performance of the resulting composites as anode electrode materials can be tuned by varying the Nb2O5/TPB ratio. Remarkable performances are achieved for Li‐ion and Na‐ion energy storage systems at high charge–discharge rates (specific capacities of ≈90 mAh g?1 at 100 C rate for lithium and ≈125 mAh g?1 at 20 C for sodium). High energy and power densities are also achieved with Li‐ and Na‐ion HSC devices constructed by using the Nb2O5/C composites as anode and activated carbon (YPF‐50) as cathode, demonstrating the excellent electrochemical properties of the materials synthesized with this approach.  相似文献

Titanium niobium oxide (TiNb2O7) has been recognized as a promising anode material for lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) in view of its potential to operate at high rates with improved safety and high theoretical capacity of 387 mAh g?1. However, it suffers from poor Li+ ion diffusivity and low electronic conductivity originated from its wide band gap energy (Eg > 2 eV). Here, porous TiNb2O7 microspheres (PTNO MSs) are prepared via a facile solvothermal reaction. PTNO MSs have a particle size of ≈1.2 μm and controllable pore sizes in the range of 5–35 nm. Ammonia gas nitridation treatment is conducted on PTNO MSs to introduce conducting Ti1?xNbxN layer on the surface and form nitridated PTNO (NPTNO) MSs. The porous structure and conducting Ti1?xNbxN layer enhance the transport kinetics associated with Li+ ions and electrons, which leads to significant improvement in electrochemical performance. As a result, the NPTNO electrode shows a high discharge capacity of ≈265 mAh g?1, remarkable rate capability (≈143 mAh g?1 at 100 C) and durable long‐term cyclability (≈91% capacity retention over 1000 cycles at 5 C). These results demonstrate the great potential of TiNb2O7 as a practical high‐rate anode material for LIBs.  相似文献

As promising cathode materials, the lithium‐excess 3d‐transition‐metal layered oxides can deliver much higher capacities (>250 mAh g?1 at 0.1 C) than the current commercial layered oxide materials (≈180 mAh g?1 at 0.1 C) used in lithium ion batteries. Unfortunately, the original formation mechanism of these layered oxides during synthesis is not completely elucidated, that is, how is lithium and oxygen inserted into the matrix structure of the precursor during lithiation reaction? Here, a promising and practical method, a coprecipitation route followed by a microwave heating process, for controllable synthesis of cobalt‐free lithium‐excess layered compounds is reported. A series of the consistent results unambiguously confirms that oxygen atoms are successively incorporated into the precursor obtained by a coprecipitation process to maintain electroneutrality and to provide the coordination sites for inserted Li ions and transition metal cations via a high‐temperature lithiation. It is found that the electrochemical performances of the cathode materials are strongly related to the phase composition and preparation procedure. The monoclinic layered Li[Li0.2Ni0.2Mn0.6]O2 cathode materials with state‐of‐the‐art electrochemical performance and comparably high discharge capacities of 171 mAh g?1 at 10 C are obtained by microwave annealing at 750 °C for 2 h.  相似文献

An ordered network of interconnected tin oxide (SnO2) nanoparticles with a unique 3D architecture and an excellent lithium‐ion (Li‐ion) storage performance is derived for the first time through hydrolysis and thermal self‐assembly of the solid alkoxide precursor. Mesoporous anodes composed of these ≈9 nm‐sized SnO2 particles exhibit substantially higher specific capacities, rate performance, coulombic efficiency, and cycling stabilities compared with disordered nanoparticles and commercial SnO2. A discharge capacity of 778 mAh g–1, which is very close to the theoretical limit of 781 mAh g–1, is achieved at a current density of 0.1 C. Even at high rates of 2 C (1.5 A g–1) and 6 C (4.7 A g–1), these ordered SnO2 nanoparticles retain stable specific capacities of 430 and 300 mAh g–1, respectively, after 100 cycles. Interconnection between individual nanoparticles and structural integrity of the SnO2 electrodes are preserved through numerous charge–discharge process cycles. The significantly better electrochemical performance of ordered SnO2 nanoparticles with a tap density of 1.60 g cm–3 is attributed to the superior electrode/electrolyte contact, Li‐ion diffusion, absence of particle agglomeration, and improved strain relaxation (due to tiny space available for the local expansion). This comprehensive study demonstrates the necessity of mesoporosity and interconnection between individual nanoparticles for improving the Li‐ion storage electrochemical performance of SnO2 anodes.  相似文献

A facile two‐step strategy is developed to design the large‐scale synthesis of hierarchical, unique porous architecture of ternary metal hydroxide nanowires grown on porous 3D Ni foam and subsequent effective sulfurization. The hierarchical Zn–Co–S nanowires (NWs) arrays are directly employed as an electrode for supercapacitors application. The as‐synthesized Zn–Co–S NWs deliver an ultrahigh areal capacity of 0.9 mA h cm?2 (specific capacity of 366.7 mA h g?1) at a current density of 3 mA cm?2, with an exceptional rate capability (≈227.6 mA h g?1 at a very high current density of 40 mA cm?2) and outstanding cycling stability (≈93.2% of capacity retention after 10 000 cycles). Most significantly, the assembled Zn–Co–S NWs//Fe2O3@reduced graphene oxide asymmetric supercapacitors with a wide operating potential window of ≈1.6 V yield an ultrahigh volumetric capacity of ≈1.98 mA h cm?3 at a current density of 3 mA cm?2, excellent energy density of ≈81.6 W h kg?1 at a power density of ≈559.2 W kg?1, and exceptional cycling performance (≈92.1% of capacity retention after 10 000 cycles). This general strategy provides an alternative to design the other ternary metal sulfides, making it facile, free‐standing, binder‐free, and cost‐effective ternary metal sulfide‐based electrodes for large‐scale applications in modern electronics.  相似文献

Sodium (Na) super ion conductor structured Na3V2(PO4)3 (NVP) is extensively explored as cathode material for sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs) due to its large interstitial channels for Na+ migration. The synthesis of 3D graphene‐like structure coated on NVP nanoflakes arrays via a one‐pot, solid‐state reaction in molten hydrocarbon is reported. The NVP nanoflakes are uniformly coated by the in situ generated 3D graphene‐like layers with the thickness of 3 nm. As a cathode material, graphene covered NVP nanoflakes exhibit excellent electrochemical performances, including close to theoretical reversible capacity (115.2 mA h g?1 at 1 C), superior rate capability (75.9 mA h g?1 at 200 C), and excellent cyclic stability (62.5% of capacity retention over 30000 cycles at 50 C). Furthermore, the 3D graphene‐like cages after removing NVP also serve as a good anode material and deliver a specific capacity of 242.5 mA h g?1 at 0.1 A g?1. The full SIB using these two cathode and anode materials delivers a high specific capacity (109.2 mA h g?1 at 0.1 A g?1) and good cycling stability (77.1% capacity retention over 200 cycles at 0.1 A g?1).  相似文献

Yolk‐like TiO2 are prepared through an asymmetric Ostwald ripening, which is simultaneously doped by nitrogen and wrapped by carbon from core to shell. It presents a high specific surface area (144.9 m2 g?1), well‐defined yolk‐like structure (600–700 nm), covered with interweaved nanosheets (3–5 nm) and tailored porosity (5–10 nm) configuration. When first utilized as anode material for sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs), it delivers a high reversible specific capacity of 242.7 mA h g?1 at 0.5 C and maintains a considerable capacity of 115.9 mA h g?1 especially at rate 20 C. Moreover, the reversible capacity can still reach 200.7 mA h g?1 after 550 cycles with full capacity retention at 1 C. Even cycled at extremely high rate 25 C, the capacity retention of 95.5% after 3000 cycles is acquired. Notably, an ultrahigh initial coulombic efficiency of 59.1% is achieved. The incorporation of nitrogen with narrowing the band gap accompanied with carbon uniformly coating from core to shell make the NC TiO2‐Y favor a bulk type conductor, resulting in fast electron transfer, which is beneficial to long‐term cycling stability and remarkable rate capability. It is of great significance to improve the energy‐storage properties through development of the bulk type conductor as anode materials in SIBs.  相似文献

Orthorhombic α‐MoO3 is a potential anode material for lithium‐ion batteries due to its high theoretical capacity of 1100 mAh g?1 and excellent structural stability. However, its intrinsic poor electronic conductivity and high volume expansion during the charge–discharge process impede it from achieving a high practical capacity. A novel composite of α‐MoO3 nanobelts and single‐walled carbon nanohorns (SWCNHs) is synthesized by a facile microwave hydrothermal technique and demonstrated as a high‐performance anode material for lithium‐ion batteries. The α‐MoO3/SWCNH composite displays superior electrochemical properties (654 mAh g?1 at 1 C), excellent rate capability (275 mAh g?1 at 5 C), and outstanding cycle life (capacity retention of >99% after 3000 cycles at 1 C) without any cracking of the electrode. The presence of SWCNHs in the composite enhances the electrochemical properties of α‐MoO3 by acting as a lithium storage material, electronic conductive medium, and buffer against pulverization.  相似文献

Although the rechargeable lithium–oxygen (Li–O2) batteries have extremely high theoretical specific energy, the practical application of these batteries is still limited by the instability of their carbon‐based air‐electrode, Li metal anode, and electrodes, toward reduced oxygen species. Here a simple one‐step in situ electrochemical precharging strategy is demonstrated to generate thin protective films on both carbon nanotubes (CNTs), air‐electrodes and Li metal anodes simultaneously under an inert atmosphere. Li–O2 cells after such pretreatment demonstrate significantly extended cycle life of 110 and 180 cycles under the capacity‐limited protocol of 1000 mA h g?1 and 500 mA h g?1, respectively, which is far more than those without pretreatment. The thin‐films formed from decomposition of electrolyte during in situ electrochemical precharging processes in an inert environment, can protect both CNTs air‐electrode and Li metal anode prior to conventional Li–O2 discharge/charge cycling, where reactive reduced oxygen species are formed. This work provides a new approach for protection of carbon‐based air‐electrodes and Li metal anodes in practical Li–O2 batteries, and may also be applied to other battery systems.  相似文献

Due to the obvious advantages of utilizing naturally abundant and low cost sodium resources, sodium ion batteries (SIBs) show great potential for large‐scale energy storage applications. And the high theoretical capacities of transition metal sulfides (TMSs) make them appealing anode materials for SIBs; however, structural collapse caused by the severe volume change during de/sodiation processes results in poor capacity retention and rate capabilities. Compared to the development of new materials and the improvement of their electrochemical performance, the studies on their reaction mechanisms are still rare, especially the operando characterizations. Herein, the synthesis, anode application, and the operando observation of the de/sodiation mechanism of a nitrogen‐doped porous carbon coated nickel cobalt bimetallic sulfide hollow nanocube ((Ni0.5Co0.5)9S8@NC) composite are reported. Such a material is synthesized via facile sulfidation of phenol formaldehyde coated Ni3[Co(CN)6]2 metal–organic framework precursors with Na2S followed by calcination. The nanocomposite displays a remarkable specific capacity of 752 mAh g?1 at 100 mA g?1 after 100 cycles and outstanding rate capability due to the synergistic effect of several appealing features. Particularly, the pseudocapacitive effect appears to substantially contribute to the sodium storage capability. Operando X‐ray diffraction reveals the conversion reaction mechanism of (Ni0.5Co0.5)9S8@NC, forming Ni, Co, Na2S, and Na2S5.  相似文献

SnS2 nanoplatelet electrodes can offer an exceptionally high pseudocapacitance in an organic Na+ ion electrolyte system, but their underlying mechanisms are still largely unexplored, hindering the practical applications of pseudocapacitive SnS2 anodes in Na‐ion batteries (SIBs) and Na hybrid capacitors (SHCs). Herein, SnS2 nanoplatelets are grown directly on SnO2/C composites to synthesize SnS2/graphene‐carbon nanotube aerogel (SnS2/GCA) by pressurized sulfidation where the original morphology of carbon framework is preserved. The composite electrode possessing a large surface area delivers a remarkable specific capacity of 600.3 mA h g?1 at 0.2 A g?1 and 304.8 mA h g?1 at an ultrahigh current density of 10 A g?1 in SIBs. SHCs comprising a SnS2/GCA composite anode and an activated carbon cathode present exceptional energy densities of 108.3 and 26.9 W h kg?1 at power densities of 130 and 6053 W kg?1, respectively. The in situ transmission electron microscopy and the density functional theory calculations reveal that the excellent pseudocapacitance originates from the combination of Na adsorption on the surface/Sn edge of SnS2 nanoplatelets and ultrafast Na+ ion intercalation into the SnS2 layers.  相似文献

Freestanding composite structures with embedded transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) as the active material are highly attractive in the development of advanced electrodes for energy storage devices. Most 3D electrodes consist of a bilayer design involving a core–shell combination. To further enhance the gravimetric and areal capacities, a 3D trilayer design is proposed that has MoSe2 as the TMDC sandwiched in‐between an inner carbon nanotube (CNT) core and an outer carbon layer to form a CNT/MoSe2/C framework. The CNT core creates interconnected pathways for the e?/Na+ conduction, while the conductive inert carbon layer not only protects the corrosive environment between the electrolyte and MoSe2 but also is fully tunable for an optimized Na+ storage. This unique heterostructure is synthesized via a solvothermal‐carbonization approach. Due to annealing under a confined structural configuration, MoSe2 interlayer spaces are expanded to facilitate a faster Na+ diffusion. It is shown that an ≈3 nm thick carbon layer yielded an optimized anode for a sodium‐ion battery. The 3D porosity of the heterostructure remains intact after an intense densification process to produce a high areal capacity of 4.0 mAh cm?2 and a high mass loading of 13.9 mg cm?2 with a gravimetric capacity of 347 mAh g?1 at 500 mA g?1 after 500 cycles.  相似文献

The current Na+ storage performance of carbon‐based materials is still hindered by the sluggish Na+ ion transfer kinetics and low capacity. Graphene and its derivatives have been widely investigated as electrode materials in energy storage and conversion systems. However, as anode materials for sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs), the severe π–π restacking of graphene sheets usually results in compact structure with a small interlayer distance and a long ion transfer distance, thus leading to low capacity and poor rate capability. Herein, partially reduced holey graphene oxide is prepared by simple H2O2 treatment and subsequent low temperature reduction of graphene oxide, leading to large interlayer distance (0.434 nm), fast ion transport, and larger Na+ storage space. The partially remaining oxygenous groups can also contribute to the capacity by redox reaction. As anode material for SIBs, the optimized electrode delivers high reversible capacity, high rate capability (365 and 131 mAh g?1 at 0.1 and 10 A g?1, respectively), and good cycling performance (163 mAh g?1 after 3000 cycles at a current density of 2 A g?1), which is among the best reported performances for carbon‐based SIB anodes.  相似文献
