The purpose of this study was to show the relationship between oxygen deficit and the time to exhaustion (tlim) at maximal aerobic speed (MAS). The minimum speed that elicits VO(2max) was assumed to be the maximal aerobic speed (MAS). Fourteen subelite male runners (mean (SD: age = 27 +/- 5 yrs: VO(2max) = 68.9 +/- 4.6 ml kg (-1). min ( -1); MAS = 21.5 +/- 1 km h (-1) ) participated in the study. Each subject performed an incremental test to determine and MAS. The subjects ran to exhaustion at velocities corresponding to 100 and 120 % MAS. Oxygen deficit was measured during the period exercise to exhaustion at 120% of MAS and was calculated from the difference between O(2) demand and the accumulated O 2 uptake. The tlim values at 100% MAS were correlated with the values of tlim at 120% MAS (r = 0.52). The results reveal that the oxygen deficit was related to the time to exhaustion at MAS and indicate that the greater the oxygen deficit, the greater the time to exhaustion at MAS. It was also noted that the adjustment of oxygen consumption is related to the oxygen deficit. In other words, the subjects who have an important anaerobic capacity are the most efficient during an exercise time to exhaustion at MAS. The time limit values can be expressed by a linear regression making intervene MAS and anaerobic capacity. This conclusion could be of great interest in the training of middle distance runners.  相似文献

We evaluated the effect of 2 different interval and continuous training programs on the maximal aerobic speed (MAS), time limit at MAS (T(lim)), and on the countermovement jump (CMJ). Twenty-two physically active men were randomly distributed in an interval training group (ITG), continuous training group (CTG), and control group. The CTG and ITG performed 2 different training programs (65-70 and 90-100% of the MAS for CTG and ITG, respectively) that consisted of 3 sessions per week during a period of 8 weeks with an identical external workload (% MAS × duration in minutes). The MAS, the T(lim) and the CMJ were recorded before and after the running training programs. The data analysis showed a significant and similar improvement (p < 0.01) of the MAS for both the ITG (5.8%) and CTG (8.3%). The T(lim) and CMJ did not change significantly for either group after the training period. Our results indicate that 8 weeks of continuous or interval running programs with externally equated load led to similar improvements in the MAS without changing T(lim) and CMJ performance in moderately trained nonrunners.  相似文献

The relationship between speed and the maximal length of time supramaximal runs can be sustained (temps-limite, tlim) has been studied in seven male subjects (physical education students). Within the range of intensity studied, tlim strictly depends on maximal oxygen consumption (VO2max). The relationship between tlim and the relative energy cost of the exercises per unit of time (E), calculated by subtracting the maximal power of aerobic metabolism (Emaxox) from E, removes the interindividual differences of tlim. The function tlim = f(E-Emaxox) is described by an empirical equation of the form: tlim = a.exp[-b(E-Emaxox)] (r = 0.979; P less than 0.001), where the parameters a and b are respectively equal to 330.8 and 0.14 and where tlim, E and Emaxox are respectively expressed in seconds and in watts per kg of body weight.  相似文献

The purpose of this investigation was to test whether the concept of critical power used in previous studies could be applied to the field of competitive swimming as critical swimming velocity (vcrit). The vcrit, defined as the swimming velocity over a very long period of time without exhaustion, was expressed as the slope of a straight line between swimming distance (dlim) at each speed (with six predetermined speeds) and the duration (tlim). Nine trained college swimmers underwent tests in a swimming flume to measure vcrit at those velocities until the onset of fatigue. A regression analysis of dlim on tlim calculated for each swimmer showed linear relationships (r2 greater than 0.998, P less than 0.01), and the slope coefficient signifying vcrit ranged from 1.062 to 1.262 m.s-1 with a mean of 1.166 (SD 0.052) m.s-1. Maximal oxygen consumption (VO2max), oxygen consumption (VO2) at anaerobic threshold, and the swimming also velocity at the onset of blood lactate accumulation (vOBLA) were also determined during the incremental swimming test. The vcrit showed significant positive correlations with VO2 at anaerobic threshold (r = 0.818, P less than 0.01), vOBLA (r = 0.949, P less than 0.01) and mean velocity of 400 m freestyle (r = 0.864, P less than 0.01). These data suggested that vcrit could be adopted as an index of endurance performance in competitive swimmers.  相似文献

This study was undertaken to compare the effects of dry-land strength training with a combined in-water resisted- and assisted-sprint program in swimmer athletes. Twenty-one swimmers from regional to national level participated in this study. They were randomly assigned to 3 groups: the strength (S) group that was involved in a dry-land strength training program where barbells were used, the resisted- and assisted-sprint (RAS) group that got involved in a specific water training program where elastic tubes were used to generate resistance and assistance while swimming, and the control (C) group which was involved in an aerobic cycling program. During 12 weeks, the athletes performed 6 training sessions per week on separate days. All of them combined the same aerobic dominant work for their basic training in swimming and running with their specific training. Athletes were evaluated 3 times: before the training program started, after 6 weeks of training, and at the end of the training program. The outcome values were the strength of the elbow flexors and extensors evaluated using an isokinetic dynamometer, and the speed, stroke rate, stroke length, and stroke depth observed during a 50-meter sprint. No changes were observed after 6 weeks of training. At the end of the training period, we observed significant increases in swimming velocity, and strength of elbow flexors and extensors both in the S and RAS groups. However, stroke depth decreased both in the S and RAS groups. Stroke rate increased in the RAS but not in the S group. However, no significant differences in the swimming performances between the S and RAS groups were observed. No significant changes occurred in C. Altogether, programs combining swimming with dry-land strength or with in-water resisted- and assisted-sprint exercises led to a similar gain in sprint performance and are more efficient than traditional swimming training methods alone.  相似文献

The maximum aerobic swimming speed of Chinook salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) was measured before and after ligation of the coronary artery. Coronary artery ligation prevented blood flow to the compact layer of the ventricular myocardium, which represents 30% of the ventricular mass, and produced a statistically significant 35.5% reduction in maximum swimming speed. We conclude that the coronary circulation is important for maximum aerobic swimming and implicit in this conclusion is that maximum cardiac performance is probably necessary for maximum aerobic swimming performance.  相似文献

The lactate minimum test (LACmin) has been considered an important indicator of endurance exercise capacity and a single session protocol can predict the maximal steady state lactate (MLSS). The objective of this study was to determine the best swimming protocol to induce hyperlactatemia in order to assure the LACmin in rats (Rattus norvegicus), standardized to four different protocols (P) of lactate elevation. The protocols were P1: 6 min of intermittent jumping exercise in water (load of 50% of the body weight - bw); P2: two 13% bw load swimming bouts until exhaustion (tlim); P3: one tlim 13% bw load swimming bout; and P4: two 13% bw load swimming bouts (1st 30 s, 2nd to tlim), separated by a 30 s interval. The incremental phase of LACmin beginning with initial loads of 4% bw, increased in 0.5% at each 5 min. Peak lactate concentration was collected after 5, 7 and 9 min (mmol L(-1)) and differed among the protocols P1 (15.2+/-0.4, 14.9+/-0.7, 14.8+/-0.6) and P2 (14.0+/-0.4, 14.9+/-0.4, 15.5+/-0.5) compared to P3 (5.1+/-0.1, 5.6+/-0.3, 5.6+/-0.3) and P4 (4.7+/-0.2, 6.8+/-0.2, 7.1+/-0.2). The LACmin determination success rates were 58%, 55%, 80% and 91% in P1, P2, P3 and P4 protocols, respectively. The MLSS did not differ from LACmin in any protocol. The LACmin obtained from P4 protocol showed better assurance for the MLSS identification in most of the tested rats.  相似文献

 The types of fuel burned by juvenile rainbow trout (17 g) during a 58-h period of aerobic sustained exercise were studied by respirometry. Attempts to measure fuel usage by depletion (the compositional approach) in these same fish were unsuccessful due to lack of detectable changes in proximate body composition. O2 consumption, CO2 excretion, and nitrogenous waste excretion (ammonia-N plus urea-N) were measured in individual fish swum continuously at 55% and 80% of maximum sustainable swimming speed and in non-swimming controls. O2 consumption and CO2 excretion increased with swimming speed, and decreased over time. Absolute rates of N excretion were independent of swimming speed and time. Instantaneous aerobic fuel use, as calculated from the respiratory quotients and nitrogen quotients, was approximately 47% lipid, 30% protein, and 23% carbohydrate in non-swimmers at the start of the experiment. With increased swimming speed there was no change in absolute rates of protein oxidation, while lipid and carbohydrate oxidation both increased. Therefore, the relative protein contribution decreased with increasing speed but increased with swimming duration as the oxidation of other fuels declined over time. However, lipid oxidation predominated at all speeds and at all times. The relative contribution of carbohydrate increased with swimming speed and decreased over time. These results suggest that swimming becomes more efficient over time and help resolve uncertainties in the literature. We conclude that lipid is the main fuel of aerobic exercise, that protein catabolism is kept at minimum levels necessary for maintenance, and that carbohydrate oxidation becomes more important with increased white muscle recruitment at higher speed. 在(25±1)℃的条件下,测定瓦氏黄颡(Pelteobagrus vachelli Richardson)幼鱼体重(4.34±0.13)g的临界游泳速度(Ucrit),然后分别以临界游泳速度的不同百分比(20、40、60、80、100%Ucrit)将实验鱼分为5个速度处理组,另外设置静止对照组和高速力竭对照组。处理组实验鱼在不同游泳速度下分别游泳20min,在此过程中测定并计算运动代谢率(Activity metabolic rate,AMR),随后测定肌肉、血液和肝脏中的乳酸、糖原和葡萄糖含量。结果显示:实验鱼的绝对临界游泳速度为(48.28±1.02)cm/s,相对临界游泳速度为(6.78±0.16)BL/s;随着游泳速度的提高AMR显著增加(Pcrit时肌乳酸和血乳酸含量显著高于80%Ucrit的水平(P0.05);100%Ucrit时肝糖原含量显著低于40%Ucrit的水平(P0.05)。经计算瓦氏黄颡幼鱼到达临界游泳速度时的无氧代谢功率比例仅为11.0%,表明其游泳运动主要以有氧代谢供能;实验鱼的无氧代谢大约在80%Ucrit才开始启动,与其他鱼类比较启动时间较晚,说明其游泳运动对无氧代谢的依赖程度较低。研究提示瓦氏黄颡幼鱼是一种有氧运动能力较强的鱼类,这一能量代谢特征可能与提高其生存适合度有关。    相似文献

Ultra sonic transmitters (cylindrical, 1.5 cm diameter × 7 cm long) with three‐week battery life were used to examine the heart rate and electrocardiogram (ECG) of cod in swimming experiments. The maximum heart rate was observed when the period between the recovery (T) wave and the initial wave (P) of the ECG was zero and was limited by the P to T period which was not observed to vary in an individual. Low heart rates were observed in resting fish and maximum rates were associated with exhaustion and cruising swimming. Maximum rates continued during periods of oxygen debt repayment and during anaesthesia as long as oxygen was supplied to the gills. Brief inhibition of heart rate was associated with sudden stimuli and during maximum swimming exertion. The significance of rate change and its relation to the aerobic and anaerobic states is discussed.  相似文献

为了探讨栖息于不同生境中鱼类的游泳能力和偏好游泳速度及其生理机制,本研究以中华倒刺鲃(Spinibarbus sinensis)、异育银鲫(Carassius auratus gibelio)、岩原鲤(Procypris rabaudi)、青鱼(Mylopharyngodon piceus)和胭脂鱼(Myxocryprinus asiaticus) 5种鱼的幼鱼为对象,在(25±1)℃条件下测定了5种鱼类的标准代谢率(SMR)、最大代谢率(MMR)、有氧代谢范围(MS)、临界游泳速度(Ucrit)、最大匀加速游泳速度(Ucat)和偏好游泳速度(Upref)。结果发现:5种实验鱼中,中华倒刺鲃的游泳能力最强,游泳能力较差的为青鱼和胭脂鱼; 5种鱼之间的代谢和游泳能力差异显著,其偏好游泳速度主要集中在(10~24.5cm·s-1)区域。研究表明,鱼类游泳能力的种间差异可能主要由心鳃系统相关的呼吸能力和体型相关的游泳效率所决定。本研究提供的有关鱼类游泳能力、偏好游泳速度等资料对于鱼道设计等有一定的参考价值...  相似文献

The relationship between the amount of work (Wlim) performed at the end of constant-power exhausting exercise and exhaustion time (tlim) has been studied for supramaximal exercise [105%, 120%, 135% and 150% of the individual maximal aerobic power, (MAP)] performed on a Monark cycle ergometer in nine men. The Wlim--tlim relationship was described by a linear relationship (Wlim = a + b . tlim). Intercept a was roughly equivalent to the work produced during a 1-min exercise performed at MAP. Slope b was equal to 79% of MAP. Intercept a has been correlated with the total amount of work (AW) performed during a 30-s all-out test supposed to assess anaerobic capacity. Intercept a was significantly (p less than 0.05) correlated with AW. The anaerobic capacity was not depleted at the end of the all-out test, as the mechanical power at the 30th s of this test was approximately equal to twice MAP. However, AW was significantly higher than intercept a. It was likely that the value of intercept a was an underestimation of the maximal anaerobic capacity because of the inertia of the aerobic metabolism. Indeed, an exponential model of the Wlim--tlim relationship, which takes the interia of the aerobic metabolism into account, shows that a linear approximation of the Wlim--tlim relationship yields a systematic underestimation of the anaerobic capacity. Consequently, intercept a of the Wlim--tlim relationship is not a more accurate estimation of the anaerobic capacity than the AW performed during a 30-s all-out test.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to compare heart rate (HR) responses within and between physical controlled (short-duration intermittent running) and physical integrated (sided games) training methods in elite soccer players. Ten adult male elite soccer players (age, 26 +/- 2.9 years; body mass, 78.3 +/- 4.4 kg; maximum HR [HRmax], 195.4 +/- 4.9 b x min(-1) and velocity at maximal aerobic speed (MAS), 17.1 +/- 0.8 km x h(-1)) performed different short-duration intermittent runs, e.g., 30-30 (30 seconds of exercise interspersed with 30 seconds of recovery) with active recovery, and 30-30, 15-15, 10-10, and 5-20 seconds with passive recovery, and different sided games (1 versus 1, 2 versus 2, 4 versus 4, 8 versus 8 with and without a goalkeeper, and 10 versus 10). In both training methods, HR was measured and expressed as a mean percentage of HR reserve (%HRres). The %HRres in the 30-30-second intermittent run at 100% MAS with active recovery (at 9 km.h with corresponding distance) was significantly higher than that with passive recovery (85.7% versus 77.2% HRres, respectively, p < 0.001) but also higher than the 1 versus 1 (p < 0.01), 4 versus 4 (p 相似文献

The primary objective of this study was to assess the relationship between aerobic capacity, as measured by the VO(2)max test, and recovery from high-intensity intermittent exercise. Eleven female collegiate hockey players agreed to participate. Subjects skated 5 1-lap intervals around the hockey rink at maximal intensity with a 30-second recovery period between skates. The VO(2)max test was performed on a motor-driven treadmill after a modified Bruce protocol. A fatigue index was calculated by measuring the total increase in skate time from trial 1 to trial 5. This fatigue index was then correlated to VO(2)max. This correlation coefficient (-0.422) was not significant (p > 0.05) and indicated that only 17.8% of the variance in VO(2)max could be explained by the fatigue index. It was concluded that ability to recover from high-intensity intermittent exercise is not related to aerobic capacity. Coaches and trainers probably do not need to include aerobic training in their practices, because the high-intensity interval training commonly seen in hockey training also improves aerobic capacity, as reflected in the high VO(2)max values of these subjects.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to a) determine the heart rate variability (HRV) and saliva markers of immunity (salivary immunoglobulin A; sIgA) and stress (salivary alpha-amylase; sAA) responses to chronic training in elite swimmers with a disability; and b) identify the relationships between HRV, sIgA, sAA and training volume. Eight members of a high performance Paralympic swimming program were monitored for their weekly resting HRV, sIgA and sAA levels in the 14 weeks leading up to a major international competition. The 14 week training program included aerobic, anaerobic, power and speed, and taper training phases, while also incorporating two swimming step tests and two swimming competitions. Specific time (root mean square of the successive differences; RMSSD) and frequency (high frequency normalized units [HFnu]) domain measures, along with non-linear indices (standard deviation of instantaneous RR variability; SD1 and short term fractal scaling exponent; α1) of HRV were used for all analyses with effects examined using magnitude-based inferences. Relationships between HRV and saliva markers were identified by Spearman rank rho (ρ) correlation coefficients. Compared with week 1, SD1 was very likely lower (96/4/0, ES = -2.21), while sAA was very likely elevated (100/0/0, ES = 2.32) at the beginning of week 7 for all athletes. The training program did not alter HRV or saliva whereas competition did. There were also no apparent differences observed for HRV, sIgA and sAA between each of the training phases during the 14 week swimming program. Correlations were observed between sAA and SD1 (ρ = -0.212, p<0.05), along with sAA and mean HR (ρ = 0.309, p<0.05). These results show that high level national competition influences depresses HRV (SD1) and increases saliva biomarkers of stress (sAA). It appears that a well-managed and periodised swimming program can maintain these indices within normal baseline levels. We studied postexercise physiology and behaviour of smallmouth bass (Micropterus dolomieu) that voluntarily ascended experimental raceways of varying length (20-50 m) against water velocities ranging from 8 to 120 cm/s. Our first objective was to link mean swimming speed to metabolism using patterns in postexercise muscle glycogen, muscle lactate, and plasma lactate. Our second objective was to examine several behavioural indices (attempt rate, success rate, and recovery time between an ascent and a subsequent attempt) and determine whether patterns in these data reflected those from the physiological measurements. Postexercise muscle glycogen and plasma lactate data suggest that smallmouth bass powered swimming speeds up to 70-80 cm/s using energy from aerobic processes. However, lactate did not begin to accumulate in the white muscle until speeds in excess of 120-130 cm/s were reached. The behavioural parameters measured did not indicate the presence of a physiological threshold at 70-80 cm/s; however, patterns in all factors changed appreciably when fish maintained speeds in excess of 120-130 cm/s. Therefore, it is clear that behaviour and physiology are tightly linked in this species and that maximum aerobic swimming capacity may not limit performance (or re-performance) during short-duration swims.  相似文献

为了考察1—2周禁食对胭脂鱼(Myxocyprinus asiaticus)幼鱼游泳能力、热耐受能力和自发运动的影响,以胭脂鱼幼鱼[体质量(3.26±0.64) g,体长(5.32±0.32) cm]为实验对象,将其随机分成对照组、1周禁食组和2周禁食组测定其有氧运动能力及其代谢、热耐受能力和自发运动行为相关参数。结果发现:1周禁食组和2周禁食组的静止代谢和临界游泳速度与对照组没有显著性差异,但其最大代谢率、代谢空间、单位位移能量消耗、头高/头长及体高/体长显著低于对照组(P<0.05); 1周禁食组和2周禁食组的临界低温和致死低温与对照组没有显著性差异,但其临界高温和致死高温显著高于对照组(P<0.05); 1周禁食组和2周禁食组的运动总距离、平均运动速度和运动时间百分比与对照组没有显著性差异。综上所述:胭脂鱼幼鱼采取有氧运动能力和自发运动行为的维持策略应对1—2周禁食胁迫,这可能有利于维持其日常的觅食活动。此外,尽管对低温耐受没有显著影响,但1—2周的禁食显著提高了胭脂鱼幼鱼的高温耐受能力。  相似文献

To investigate the effects of exhaustive chasing training and detraining on the swimming performance of juvenile darkbarbel catfish (Peltebagrus vachelli Richardson), we performed exhaustive chasing training daily for 14 days and subsequently detrained fish for 7 days. Chasing training resulted in significant increases in critical swimming speed (U crit), post-chasing peak oxygen consumption rate (VO2 peak), and heart and gill indexes compared with non-trained controls. Both resting oxygen consumption (VO2 rest) and excess post-chasing VO2 (EPOC) were unaffected by exhaustive chasing training. Fish that underwent chasing training had lower levels of whole-body lipid content and reduced food intake and growth compared with non-trained control fish; however, condition factor was not affected by chasing training. Seven days of detraining reversed the effects of exhaustive chasing training. Overall, these data suggested that short-term exhaustive chasing training improves aerobic swimming capacity in darkbarbel catfish, but the training effects are reversible over a short period of time.  相似文献

为探讨运动训练和停训对鲈鲤Percocypris pingi幼鱼运动能力的影响,将480尾(体质量为2.18g±0.12g,体长为5.33cm±0.09cm)鲈鲤幼鱼随机分为4组(每组120尾):对照组(C)、无氧训练组(An)、4BL·s^-1组(BL为体长)(H)和2BL·s^-1组(L)(H组和L组每天均训练8h),在15℃±2℃条件下持续训练30d后停训。分别在训练前(T0)、训练30d后(T30)、停训20d后(DT20)和停训50d后(DT50)测定鲈鲤幼鱼的临界游泳速度(Ucrit)和1.5Ucrit条件下的耐受时间。结果显示:(1)持续运动训练显著提高了鲈鲤幼鱼的有氧和无氧运动能力,而力竭运动训练只提高了鲈鲤幼鱼的无氧运动能力;(2)停训20d后,L组的Ucrit显著高于An组和C组,An组、H组和C组间的差异无统计学意义,而An组和H组的耐受时间仍显著高于对照组,L组和C组间的差异无统计学意义;(3)停训50d后,实验组和C组间Ucrit和耐受时间的差异均无统计学意义。因此,运动训练显著提高了鲈鲤幼鱼的有氧和无氧运动能力,但不同训练方式的提升效果及其维持时间不同。  相似文献

We examined the maximum sustainable swimming speed of late-stage larvae of nine species of tropical reef fishes from around Lizard Island, Great Barrier Reef, Australia. Larvae were captured in light traps and were swum in flumes at different experimental swimming speeds (of 5 cm s−1 intervals) continuously for 24 h. Logistic regression was used to determine the speed at which 90% of larvae were able to maintain swimming, and this was used to indicate the maximum sustainable swimming speed for each species. Maximum sustainable swimming speeds varied among the species examined, with the lethrinid maintaining the fastest sustainable swimming speed (24 cm s−1), followed by the Pomacentridae (10-20 cm s−1) and the Apogonidae (8-12 cm s−1). U-crit (maximum speed) explained 64% of the variation in sustainable speed among species, whereas total length only explained 33% of the variation in sustained swimming. A regression fitted across species suggests that 50% U-crit is a good approximation of the speed able to be maintained by these larvae for 24 h. A model based on a cubic relationship between sustained swimming time and speed was found to be more successful than either length or U-crit as a method of estimating sustainable swimming speed for most of the species examined. Overall, we found that swimming speed is an important factor when considering the potential for active swimming behaviour to influence dispersal patterns, recruitment success and levels of self-recruitment in reef fish larvae and needs to be carefully considered in models of larval dispersal.  相似文献
