A review of Rheocricotopus (Psilocricotopus) chalybeatus species group from China,with the description of three new species (Diptera,Chironomidae)

The Rheocricotopus (Psilocricotopus) chalybeatus species group from China is reviewed. Three new species, R. (P.) brochus sp. n., R. (P.) rotundus sp. n. and R. (P.) serratus sp. n. are described as adult males. R. (P.) imperfectus Makarchenko & Makarchenko, 2005, R. (P.) robacki (Beck & Beck, 1964) and R. (P.) valgus Chaudhuri & Sinharay, 1983 are recorded from China for the first time and annotated. The diagnosis for the species group is emended and a key to adult males of the species group in China is presented.     

Review of the species of Michotamia from China with a description of a new species (Diptera, Asilidae)

Three species of Michotamia are recorded from China. Of these Michotamia aurata (Fabricius, 1794) was previously reported from Hainan and Taiwan. Michotamia assamensis Joseph & Parui, 1995 is recorded from China and Laos for the first time, and Michotamia yunnanensissp. n., is described and figured. A key to the known species from China is provided. A new name, Michotamia subnigra, is given to Michotamia nigra Scarbrough & Hill, 2000, which is preoccupied by Michotamia nigra (Meijere, 1911).

A review of the species of Rhynchopsilopa Hendel from China (Diptera, Ephydridae)

Species of the shore-fly genus Rhynchopsilopa Hendel from China are reviewed. Four new species (Rhynchopsilopa guangdongensissp. n., Rhynchopsilopa huangkengensissp. n., Rhynchopsilopa jinxiuensissp. n., Rhynchopsilopa shixingensissp. n.) and two previously known species, Rhynchopsilopa longicornis (Okada) and Rhynchopsilopa magnicornis Hendel, are described or redescribed. A key to the species hitherto known from China is presented.     

Two new species of Amblypsilopus Bigot with a key to species from Taiwan (Diptera, Dolichopodidae)

The following two new species of the genus Amblypsilopus Bigot from Taiwan are described: Amblypsilopus flavellussp. n. and Amblypsilopus ventralissp. n. One species, Amblypsilopus crassatus Yang, 1997, is newly reported from Taiwan. A key to the species of the genus from Taiwan is given.     

Two new species of Fannia Robineau-Desvoidy (Diptera, Fanniidae).

Fannia Robineau-Desvoidy is known from 63 neotropical species, 24 of them with occurence in Rio de Janeiro State. Two new species from Rio de Janeiro State are added to the genus: F. tibialis, sp. n and F. unica, sp. n. Male specimens of both are described. Morphological characters and terminalia are illustrated. Each species is briefly discussed.     

Key for European species of the Cheilosia proxima group (Diptera,Syrphidae) with a description of a new species

A new hoverfly species, Cheilosia barbafacies Vujić & Radenković sp. n. (Diptera, Syrphidae), is described and distinguished from the closely related species Cheilosia pascuorum Becker, 1894, based on material collected from the mountains of the Balkan Peninsula. Diagnostic characteristics and an identification key for the members of the proxima group of Cheilosia s. str., including the new taxon, are provided.     

Two new species of Oxycera (Diptera, Stratiomyidae) from Ningxia, China

Two new speices, Oxycera rozkosnyisp. n. and Oxycera ningxiaensissp. n., are described from Liupanshan Nature Reserve, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Northwest China. All essential diagnostic characters are figured and possible relationships of both taxa are briefly discussed, and a new key to species of Oxycera from China. The type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University, Guiyang (GUGC).     

Sinosciapus from Taiwan with description of a new species (Diptera, Dolichopodidae)

Sinosciapus liuaesp. n. is newly described from Taiwan. The genus Sinosciapus is discussed and a key to the three known Oriental species is provided.     

Two new species of Tovlinius Zaitzev, from China, with a key to the genera of Bombyliinae from China and a second key to the world species (Diptera, Bombyliidae, Bombyliinae, Bombyliini)

The genus Tovlinius Zaitzev is a Palaearctic genus with just one previously described species, Tovlinius albissimus Zaitzev. Tovlinius is here recorded from China for the first time, and two new species Tovlinius pyramidatussp. n. and Tovlinius turriformissp. n. are described and illustrated. A key to the genera of Bombyliinae from China and a second key to the World species of Tovlinius are also presented herein.     

Two new species of Bryophaenocladius Thienemann, 1934 (Diptera, Chironomidae) from China

Two new species of Bryophaenocladius Thienemann, 1934, Bryophaenocladius mucronatussp. n. and Bryophaenocladius parictericussp. n. are described and illustrated as males. A key to male imagines of the genus from China is presented.     

Two new species of Olecryptotendipes Zorina, 2007 from China (Diptera, Chironomidae)

Two new species, Olecryptotendipes exilissp. n. and Olecryptotendipes melasmussp. n. are described and illustrated as males and Chinese males of Olecryptotendipes lenzi are re-examined. A key to all known males of Olecryptotendipes is provided.     

Taxonomic study of the genus Prorophora Ragonot, 1887 (Lepidoptera, Pyralidae, Phycitinae) in China, with description of a new species

The genus Prorophora Ragonot, 1887 is newly recorded for China. Of the three species treated here, Prorophora (Reisserempista) binacanthasp. n. is described as new; Prorophora (Prorophora) albidogilvella Roesler, 1970 and Prorophora (Reisserempista) mongolica Roesler, 1970 are diagnosed and newly recorded for China. Images of adults and illustrations of genital structures are provided, along with a key to the known species.     

Annotated catalogue of the Haliplidae of China with the description of a new species and new records from China (Coleoptera, Adephaga)

A revised checklist of Haliplidae (Coleoptera: Adephaga) of China is presented. A new species Haliplus (Haliplus) latreilleisp. n. is described from Guizhou, China. Three species, Haliplus (Haliplidius) confinis Stephens, Haliplus (Haliplus) ruficollis (De Geer) and Haliplus (Haliplus) sibricus Motschulsky are reported from China for the first time. Haliplus dalmatinus Müller is excluded from the list of Chinese species. A number of new provincial records from China is presented.     

Species of the genus Chrysotimus Loew from China (Diptera, Dolichopodidae)

THE FOLLOWING THREE SPECIES ARE DESCRIBED AS NEW TO SCIENCE: Chrysotimus dalongensissp. n., Chrysotimus huairouensissp. n., and Chrysotimus hubeiensissp. n., Chrysotimus apicicurvatus Yang, is recorded from Palaearctic China for the first time. A key to the Chinese species of the genus is presented.
