Two species of nematodes, Angiostoma coloaense n. sp. and Aulacnema monodelphis n. g., n. sp. (Angiostomatidae: Rhabditida) are described from terrestrial molluscs of Vietnam. Both species are characterised by a long bowl-shaped buccal cavity and typically angiostomatid male bursal alae, spicules and gubernaculum. The new genus, Aulacnema n. g., is erected for the first reported monodelphic angiostomatid. Angiostoma coloaense n. sp. can be distinguished from other species of Angiostoma Dujardin, 1845 by having a buccal cavity length greater than its width and the absence of tail spikes on both males and females.  相似文献

Angiostoma margaretae n. sp. (Angiostomatidae) is described from the oesophagus of the slug Milax gagates Draparnaud collected near Caledon in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. The new species closely resembles another parasite of a milacid slug, A. milacis Ivanova & Wilson, 2009, with a similar head, stoma and spicule shape, the presence of distally outstretched ovaries, coiled oviducts, the same number of caudal papillae and enlarged rectal glands. However, A. margaretae differs from the latter by having: a shorter, wider tail with a rounded vs pointed tip; the distal parts of both ovaries with a particular hook-like shape due to an expansion closely following the short initial zone; ovoviparous females; and a different arrangement of male papillae. A. margaretae is comparable with A. limacis Dujardin, 1845, A. asamati (Spiridonov, 1985), A. coloaense (Pham Van Luc, Spiridonov & Wilson, 2005) and A. stammeri (Mengert, 1953), which have a similar stoma shape and size, but can be readily differentiated by the presence of distally outstretched vs reflexed ovaries and the presence vs lack of enlarged rectal glands. The new species has a similar arrangement of the ovaries to A. kimmeriense Korol & Spiridonov, 1991 and A. zonitidis Ivanova & Wilson, 2009, but is clearly differentiated by the lack of an off-set lip region and presence of a large bowl-shaped vs tubular stoma and less numerous male caudal papillae (seven pairs vs nine in A. kimmeriense and 10 in A. zonitidis).  相似文献

Angiostoma norvegicum n. sp. (Angiostomatidae) is described from the oesophagus, crop and the buccal mass of five species of slugs of the family Arionidae, Arion vulgaris (Moquin-Tandon), Arion ater (L.), Arion fasciatus (Nilsson), Arion fuscus (Müller) and Arion rufus/Arion ater hybrid), collected throughout Norway. Angiostoma norvegicum n. sp. was found parasitising arionids at seven of the 30 sample sites examined (23.3%), and 9.9% of all Arion spp. were infected with this nematode. The new species is characterised by its large size (4.0–8.6 mm long) and in having: lateral alae; 6 + 6 papillae at the cephalic end; a large circular mouth aperture; a spacious stoma; a pharyngeal basal bulb without valvular apparatus; an excretory pore near the base of bulb; a distal part of posterior ovary always outstretched; an anterior ovary distally nearly always outstretched; a vulva situated anterior to mid-body; long, nearly straight spicules and a small gubernaculum; three circumcloacal papillae and caudal genital papillae (GP) arranged in a pattern 1+2/3+3 with GP 5 and GP 8 opened on dorsal side of narrow bursa not reaching tail tip; short conical tails in both sexes with tips supplied by 4 short, unequal denticles. Morphologically, A. norvegicum n. sp. is similar to Angiostoma limacis Dujardin, 1845, which diagnostic characteristics are given based on examination of specimens from Norway and the UK. Conversely, the phylogenetic analyses based on D2D3 large subunit (LSU) rRNA gene sequences performed in the present study did not support the morphological affinity of these two species. Phylogenetic analyses demonstrated that although Angiostoma spp. cluster together, A. norvegicum n. sp. forms a tight monophyletic clade with the milacid nematode parasites Angiostoma margaretae Ross, Malan & Ivanova, 2011 and Angiostoma milacis Ivanova & Wilson, 2009.  相似文献

A new species of Cattiena Hunt & Spiridonov, 2001 from a diplopod (Spirobolida: Pseudospirobolellidae Brolemann) collected near Sa Pa, Lao Cai Province, Vietnam, is described. Females of Cattiena fansipanis n. sp. are closely related to females of two other known species of the genus, C. trachelomegali Hunt & Spiridonov, 2001 and C. trigoniuli Hunt & Spiridonov, 2001, but can be distinguished by the distinctly more anterior position of the vulva, abrupt constriction of the body at the vulval level, presence of two swollen portions of the oviducts, and longer body and tail. Males of new species differ by having a rounded cephalic region followed by 13–14 annules which are larger than those which follow them, a different size and shape of the spicules and gubernaculum, and body and tail length. Three size groups of juveniles were found in the host gut lumen, presumably representing second, third and fourth juvenile stages. The morphology of the juvenile stages is described.  相似文献

A new species of nematode, Angiostoma namekuji n. sp. (Angiostomatidae: Rhabditida), is described from the intestinal lumen of the terrestrial slug Philomycidae gen. sp. collected from Oshiba Island in the Seto Inland Sea, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. The new species is recognized by the following characteristics: body length 2,782–3,599 (mean 3,240) μm (male); 4,666–5,532 (5,030) μm (female); lateral field present; pharyngeal corpus with valves in the bulb; male with short tail, c = 35–57 (48), with one denticle; and seven pairs of genital papillae arranged as 1+2/3+1; female with tail having small denticles on distal tip; uterus c.50% of the body size; each ovary long, starting near vulva, not coiled, reflexed and reaching uterus; ovaries not crossing each other. Our phylogenetic tree based on sequences of the nuclear 28S ribosomal RNA gene supported the generic allocation of the new species in Angiostoma Dujardin, 1845.  相似文献

Three new species of the genus Dolichopus Latr. (Diptera, Dolichopodidae) are described. All these species are closely related to Dolichopus signifer Haliday, 1832 and form a species-group including this species. Dolichopus taimyricus sp. n. is described from the southern tundra of the Taimyr Peninsula (northern Central Siberia); D. zlobini sp. n. was collected in the Pamirs (Tajikistan) and D. asymmetricus sp. n., in the mountains of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Two new species of the genus Melanostoma Schin., 1860, closely related to M. dubium (Zetterstedt, 1838), are described, and a key to the species of this group is given. Melanostoma clausseni sp. n. and M. tschernovi sp. n. are closely related to M. dubium (Zett.), but differ in the uniformly black abdomen and legs. Melanostoma clausseni sp. n. differs from M. tschernovi sp. n. in the lustrous mesonotum and finely pruinose frons and face (in M. tschernovi, the face, frons, and mesonotum are covered with gray pruinosity). Holotypes of the new species are deposited in the collection of the Siberian Zoological Museum (Novosibirsk).  相似文献

Three new scarab-beetle species are described. Aphodius moronensis sp. n. (northern Mongolia) and A. kozlovi sp. n (eastern Tibet) with modified spurs on fore tibiae in males are placed in the falcispinis group of the subgenus Agolius but are similar to the grafi group of the subgenus Chilothorax in the shape of parameres and elytral pattern. The new species differ from A. falcispinis in the shape of the spur; A. moronensis sp. n. also differs in the shape of the body and parameres. Orphnus transvaalensis sp. n. is the second apterous Orphnus species found in Southern Africa. It differs from the closely related O. harrisoni in the shape of parameres, position of the hornlike clypeal process, and in a smaller body size.  相似文献

Two new species of the genus Aturus Kramer (A. tuzovskyi sp. n. and A. kimichungi sp. n.) from Russia are described. These species and closely related species of the genus Aturus are compared. A. tuzovskyi sp. n. male is characterized by a slender body, the presence of a pair of bifurcated setae on the dorsal shield, two sword ventrodistal setae equal in length on the genu of leg IV, and 10–14 pairs of acetabula. The female of this species is characterized by the oval body and the presence of 10–13 pairs of acetabula. The male of A. kimichungi sp. n. is characterized by a rounded body, the presence of a single pair of bifurcated setae on the dorsal shield; sword setae on the genu IV are longer than tibia IV; 14–21 pairs of acetabula are present. The female of this species possesses a rounded body and 18–19 pairs of acetabula.  相似文献

A review of the Palaearctic species of the Eurytoma cynipsea group with 15 species is given. A key to species is provided. A new species, Eurytoma melikai sp. n. from Iran, is described. Eu. melikai sp. n. is most closely related to Eu. hybrida Zer., but differs in the shorter and globular metasoma in the female and the thicker and darker marginal vein in both sexes. The type material is deposited in the collection of the Schmalhausen Zoological Institute, National Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, Kiev.  相似文献

The grylloblattidan species briggsi sp.n. from the Stephanian (Late Carboniferous) deposit of Montceau‐les‐Mines (France) is described from a well‐preserved specimen exhibiting parts of both wing pairs. The forewing variability of the closely related species elongatum Sellards, 1909: 156 , from the Artinskian deposit of Elmo (KS, U.S.A.), is documented. On the basis of new data, the taxon name Phenopterum Carpenter, 1950 is associated with a definition under the cladotypic nomenclatural procedure. The species briggsi sp.n. , elongatum Sellards, 1909: 156 , unicolor Storozhenko, 1992 , elegans Handlirsch, 1911 and raketa Kukalová, 1964 belong to Phenopterum as defined. Advantages of the cladotypic nomenclatural procedure are discussed in this case. For compliance with the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature, it is proposed to assign the species briggsi sp.n. to the taxon Phenopterum, which has the status of a genus under the Linnaean nomenclatural procedure.  相似文献

A new soil mite species, Quadroppia (Coronoquadroppia) sezeki sp. n., is described. Adult mites were recorded from moss under a pine tree from a pine forest. The new species differs from the other species of the subgenus by bearing epimera III+IV with a wide key hole shaped inner border and the shape of frontal appendage of rostrum. The morphological features of the new species are also compared with those present in closely related species.  相似文献

Three new species of Anthocephalum Linton, 1890 are described from dasyatid stingrays collected in the Gulf of California. Anthocephalum michaeli n. sp. is described from Dasyatis longus (Garman). This species most closely resembles A. alicae Ruhnke, 1994, but differs from this species in proglottid number. A. lukei n. sp. is also described from D. longus. This new species is most similar to A. cairae Ruhnke, 1994, but differs from that species in marginal loculi number and number of proglottids. The third new species, A. currani n. sp., is described from D. brevis (Garman). This species is most similar to A. centrurum (Southwell, 1925) Ruhnke, 1994, but differs from that species in marginal loculi number, number of testes and ovarian length. Phyllobothrium kingae Schmidt, 1978 is also consistent in morphology with species of Anthocephalum and is transferred to this genus, forming the new combination Anthocephalum kingae n. comb. This species most closely resembles A. michaeli n. sp., but differs in testicular shape. This brings the total number of species of Anthocephalum to nine. The transfer of the species Phyllobothrium arctowskii Wojciechowska, 1991, P. georgiense Wojciechowska, 1991, P. rakusai Wojciechowska, 1991 and P. siedleckii Wojciechowska, 1991 to Anthocephalum is not warranted, as these four species lack a posteriorly recurved cirrus-sac and a sinuous vagina, and have vitelline follicles uninterrupted by the ovary. Of the nine known species, all are parasitic in batoid fishes, and six are found in species of Dasyatis Garman. The phylogenetic status of Anthocephalum species in relationship to Rhinebothroides Mayes, Brooks & Thorson, 1981, Pararhineothroides Zamparo, Brooks & Barriga, 1999 and other rhinebothriin taxa is discussed.  相似文献

A new chigger mite species, Schoutedenichia microcebi n. sp. is described from the grey mouse lemur Microcebus murinus (J.F. Miller) from Madagascar. The new species is closely related to S. dutoiti (Radford, 1948), a species described from a single specimen collected on a rodent in South Africa. Examination of the holotype and new material on S. dutoiti from South Africa enabled us to re-describe this species and provide new data on its hosts and geographical distribution.

A complex of the species related to Eurytoma strigifrons Thomson is reviewed. In addition to Eu. strigifrons, the complex includes Eu. salvicola Zerova and eight new species: Eu. zlatae Zerova et Klymenko, sp. n., Eu. victori Zerova et Klymenko, sp. n., Eu. ruthenica Zerova et Klymenko, sp. n., Eu. adpressa Zerova et Klymenko, sp. n., Eu. alexii Zerova, et Klymenko sp. n., Eu. eremuri Zerova, sp. n., Eu. taraxaci Zerova et Klymenko, sp. n., and Eu. kareliniae Zerova, sp. n. The Ch. olgae species-group is established in the genus Chelonus characterized by the metasomal carapace narrowing towards the apex (much more strongly than towards the base) and not or weakly incurved. This group is analogous to the M. retusus group of the closely related genus Microchelonus, although some differences in the carapace structure emphasize parallel development of these morphological features in the two genera. New species are described as follows: Ch. borisi sp. n. (Russia: Leningrad Prov.), Ch. cardui sp. n. (Russia: Voronezh Prov.; Moldova), Ch. kokoujevi sp. n. (Russia: Belgorod and Chelyabinsk provinces), Ch. speijeri sp. n. (Spain), Ch. ubsunuricus sp. n. (Russia: Tuva), and Ch. yurii sp. n. (Kazakhstan). The genus Acropsilus Mik, 1878 is reported from China for the first time. Seven species are described as new to science: Acropsilus guangdongensis sp. n., A. guangxiensis sp. n., A. jinxiuensis sp. n., A. luoxiangensis sp. n., A. yunnanensis sp. n., A. zengchengensis sp. n. and A. zhuae sp. n. Several felt scale (Eriococcidae) lineages show deep, phylogenetically constrained, host use. The most diverse of these host‐constrained lineages is Australian, associated with plants in the family Myrtaceae, and the most diverse sublineage within this group is associated with Eucalyptus. Here we use Bayesian analysis of morphological data to estimate relationships among the eucalypt‐feeding species of this group. We identify an unusual species for which we erect the monotypic genus Heathcotia Hardy & Beardsley gen.n. , with type species Heathcotia crypta Hardy & Beardsley sp.n. , and recover a clade comprised of six new species closely related to Lachnodius hirtus Maskell. We erect the genus Lobimargo Hardy & Gullan gen.n. for the latter clade, designate Lobimargo sagittisetus Hardy & Beardsley sp.n. as its type species, transfer Lachnodius hirtus to the genus as Lobimargo hirtus (Maskell) comb.n. and describe the five other new species: Lobimargo brookesae Hardy & Beardsley sp.n., Lobimargo donaldsoni Hardy & Gullan sp.n. , Lobimargo latrobeus Hardy & Beardsley sp.n. , Lobimargo rhipidotrichus Hardy & Gullan sp.n. and Lobimargo williamsi Hardy & Gullan sp.n. A lectotype is designated for L. hirtus. The adult female of each species, the first‐instar nymph of L. sagittisetus, the second‐instar female of L. hirtus and the adult male of L. williamsi are described and illustrated. A key is provided to the adult females of all eriococcid genera found on eucalypts and of all Lobimargo species. Adult females of Lobimargo have been found on stems, sometimes causing shallow pits, and on foliage or under bark, but may move to the latter habitat for oviposition.  相似文献

A new polychaete species of the family Terebellidae, Terebellides irinae sp. n., has been described from materials collected in the Canadian Basin by the international Hidden Ocean 2005 expedition on board the US Coast Guard icebreaker (WAGB-20) Healy. The new species differs from other closely related species by its underdeveloped ventral branchial lobes that are at least two times shorter than the dorsal ones, sometimes reduced to barely noticeable cones and in that the aciculum-like neurochaetes of the 6th setigerous segment are curved at a right angle and have a thin capillaceous tip. Specimens of this polychaete worm are small, no more than 15 mm long.  相似文献
