A degree of irregularities of the heart rhythm was studied by two methods: chaos-analysis and the HRV (heart rate variability) analysis. Our study shows an individual response in 3 groups of animals: 1--animals with low initial level of chaos (correlation dimension (PD2 < 2); 2--animals with high level of chaos (PD2 > 4); and animals with middle level of chaos (2 < PD2 < 4). The first two groups proved to be more sensitive to stress than the third group. Moreover we found that the electrical stability of the heart as measured by the fibrillation threshold, was higher for the chaos third group. The animals of the first two groups had low cardiac stability and high risk of stress-induced cardiac disturbances. 相似文献

Automatic classification of cardiac arrhythmias using heart rate variability (HRV) analysis has been an important research topic in recent years. Explorations reveal that various HRV feature combinations can provide highly accurate models for some rhythm disorders. However, the proposed feature combinations lack a direct and carefully designed comparison. The goal of this work is to assess the various HRV feature combinations in classification of cardiac arrhythmias. In this setting, a total of 56 known HRV features are grouped in eight feature combinations. We evaluate and compare the combinations on a difficult problem of automatic classification between nine types of cardiac rhythms using three classification algorithms: support vector machines, AdaBoosted C4.5, and random forest. The effect of analyzed segment length on classification accuracy is also examined. The results demonstrate that there are three combinations that stand out the most, with total classification accuracy of roughly 85% on time segments of 20 s duration. A simple combination of time domain features is shown to be comparable to the more informed combinations, with only 1–4% worse results on average than the three best ones. Random forest and AdaBoosted C4.5 are shown to be comparably accurate, while support vector machines was less accurate (4–5%) on this problem. We conclude that the nonlinear features exhibit only a minor influence on the overall accuracy in discerning different arrhythmias. The analysis also shows that reasonably accurate arrhythmia classification lies in the range of 10–40 s, with a peak at 20 s, and a significant drop after 40 s. 相似文献

Summary The significance of biological rhythms for biometeorological research is reviewed, with special reference to man. Among external influences cosmic agents (mostly periodic) and meteorological agents (largely non-periodic)are discussed, as acting upon rhythmic of non-rhythmic biological transducers. It is stressed that there are two directions of relation: (1) from external agent to rhythm, synchronizing or modulating it; and (2) rhythms may sinply be a tool for studying meteorological non-periodic influences. Several characteristics of rhythms make them suited for the latter and special statistical methods, apart from the classical frequency analyses, may be fashioned for this.The discussion furthermore covers different types of synchronizers, their characteristics, pathways and possible modes of action;also the three main different types of external conditions such as constancy, normal conditions, and the experimental day with fixed light-dark changes. Intravenous administration of cannabinoid (CB) receptor agonists (HU-210, 0.1 mg/kg; ACPA, 0.125 mg/kg; methanandamide, 2.5 mg/kg; and anandamide, 2.5 mg/kg) induced bradycardia in chloralose-anesthetized rats irrespective of the solubilization method. Methanandamide, HU-210, and ACPA had no effect on the electrophysiological activity of the heart, while anandamide increased the duration of the QRS complex. The negative chronotropic effect of HU-210 was due to CB1 receptor activation since it was not observed after CB1 receptor blockade by SR141716A (1 mg/kg intravenously) but was present after pretreatment with CB2 receptor antagonist SR144528 (1 mg/kg intravenously). CB receptor antagonists SR141716A and SR144528 had no effect on cardiac rhythm or ECG indices. Hence, in the intact heart, endogenous CB receptor agonists are not involved in the regulation of cardiac rhythm and electrophysiological processes. The chronotropic effect of CBs was independent of the autonomic nervous system because it remained significant after autonomic ganglion blockade by hexamethonium (1 mg/kg intravenously). CB receptor activation by HU-210 (0.1 and 1 μM) in vitro decreased the rate and force of isolated heart contractions, the rates of contraction and relaxation, and end diastolic pressure. The negative chronotropic effect of HU-210 was less pronounced in vitro than in vivo. The maximum inotropic effect of HU-210 was reached at the concentration of 0.1 μM. 相似文献

Urine steroid profiles of healthy individuals can be divided into two groups according to greatly different excretion rates of dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA). About 80% of the population show an excretion of DHEA in urine of just above the detection limit or less of the main androgens androsterone (A) and etiocholanolone (E). This excretion is only enhanced in psychological stress situations. The remaining 20% excrete DHEA in roughly equal amounts as A and E.While the relation of excreted steroids is rather constant, the absolute amounts may vary greatly. In contrast to the behaviour of all other steroids DHEA excretion is not in relation to other steroids. The group of “high DHEA” producing individuals in particular shows drastic changes in the excretion during a day: the DHEA excretion rapidly rises from morning until afternoon and then drops to rather low values in the resting period during the night. A recognizable DHEA production seems to be closely related to the waking period. 相似文献

The rhythm of cardiac beats is generated by pacemaker cells differing from other cardiomyocytes by the presence of slow diastolic depolarization. Consistently activated transmembrane ionic currents provide cyclic excitation of pacemakers, forming the original “membrane clocks”. A new concept has been forwarded in the last decade according to which periodic fluctuations in myoplasmic Ca2+ level (“calcium clocks”) not only influence a course of “membrane clocks”, but they also can serve as independent generators of the rhythm. Transport of Ca2+ in cells is under constant influence of active forms of oxygen and nitrogen. Both superoxide and NO in moderate doses facilitate Ca2+ output from the sarcoplasmic reticulum, accelerating the course of “calcium clocks”, but in higher doses they have opposite effect that may be neutralized mainly by reduced glutathione. The control of cardiac rhythm by active forms of oxygen and nitrogen represents a feedback mechanism by which mitochondria and NO-synthases support Ca2+ homeostasis in cells that can be temporarily disturbed under mechanical loads or hypoxia. 相似文献

Background
Different immunotherapy approaches for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases are being developed and tested in clinical studies worldwide. Their resulting complex experimental data should be properly evaluated, therefore reliable normal healthy control baseline values are indispensable.Methodology/Principal Findings
To assess intra- and inter-individual variability of various biomarkers, peripheral blood of 16 age and gender equilibrated healthy volunteers was sampled on 3 different days within a period of one month. Complex “crossomics” analyses of plasma metabolite profiles, antibody concentrations and lymphocyte subset counts as well as whole genome expression profiling in CD4+T and NK cells were performed. Some of the observed age, gender and BMI dependences are in agreement with the existing knowledge, like negative correlation between sex hormone levels and age or BMI related increase in lipids and soluble sugars. Thus we can assume that the distribution of all 39.743 analysed markers is well representing the normal Caucasoid population. All lymphocyte subsets, 20% of metabolites and less than 10% of genes, were identified as highly variable in our dataset.Conclusions/Significance
Our study shows that the intra-individual variability was at least two-fold lower compared to the inter-individual one at all investigated levels, showing the importance of personalised medicine approach from yet another perspective. 相似文献16.
Morning hours are associated with a heightened risk of adverse cardiovascular events. Recent evidence suggests that the sleep-wake cycle and endogenous circadian system modulate cardiac function in humans and may contribute to these epidemiological findings. The aim of the present study was to investigate the interaction between circadian and sleep-wake-dependent processes on heart rate variability (HRV). Fifteen diurnally active healthy young adults underwent a 72-h ultradian sleep-wake cycle (USW) procedure (alternating 60-min wake episodes in dim light and 60-min nap opportunities in total darkness) in time isolation. The present study revealed a significant main effect of sleep-wake-dependent and circadian processes on cardiac rhythmicity, as well as a significant interaction between these processes. Turning the lights off was associated with a rapid increase in mean RR interval and cardiac parasympathetic modulation (high-frequency [HF] power), whereas low-frequency (LF) power and sympathovagal balance (LF:HF ratio) were reduced (p?≤?.001). A significant circadian rhythm in mean RR interval and HRV components was observed throughout the wake and nap episodes (p?≤?.001). Sleep-to-wake transitions occurring in the morning were associated with maximal shifts towards sympathetic autonomic activation as compared to those occurring during the rest of the day. Namely, peak LF:HF ratio was observed in the morning, coincidental with peak salivary cortisol levels. These results contribute to our understanding of the observed increase in cardiovascular vulnerability after awakening in the morning. 相似文献

Spectral analysis of the rhythmograms in the cod Gadus morhua callarias, plaice Pleuronectes platessa, herring Clupea harengus membras and trout Salmo gairdneri revealed complex wave structure of their cardiac rhythm. In all the species investigated, slow (0.01-0.06 Hz), intermediate (0.06-0.25 Hz) and fast (0.25-0.5 Hz) waves were recorded. Cytochrome P450 (CYP) superfamily members CYP2C8 and CYP2C9 are polymorphically expressed enzymes that are involved in the metabolic inactivation of several drugs, including, among others, antiepileptics, NSAIDs, oral hypoglycemics, and anticoagulants. Many of these drugs have a narrow therapeutic index, and growing evidence indicates a prominent role of CYP2C8 and CYP2C9 polymorphisms in the therapeutic efficacy and in the development of adverse effects among patients treated with drugs that are CYP2C8 or CYP2C9 substrates. In this review, we summarize present knowledge on human variability in the frequency of variant CYP2C8 and CYP2C9 alleles. Besides an expected interethnic variability in allele frequencies, a large intraethnic variability exists. Among Asian subjects, for example, statistically significant differences (p < 0.0001) in CYP2C9*3 allele frequencies between Chinese and Japanese individuals have been reported. In addition, individuals from East Asia present different allele frequencies for CYP2C9*2 and CYP2C9*3 compared with South Asian subjects (p < 0.0001). Among Caucasian Europeans, statistically significant differences for the frequency of CYP2C8*3, CYP2C9*2, and CYP2C9*3 exist (p < 0.0001). This indicates that Asian individuals or Caucasian European individuals cannot be considered as homogeneous groups regarding CYP2C8 or CYP2C9 allele frequencies. Caucasian American subjects also show a large variability in allele frequencies, which is likely to be related to ethnic ancestry. A higher frequency of variant CYP2C8 and CYP2C9 alleles is expected among Caucasian Americans with South European ancestry than in individuals with North European ancestry. The findings summarized in this review suggest that among individuals with Asian or European ancestry, intraethnic differences in the risk of developing adverse effects with drugs that are CYP2C8 or CYP2C9 substrates are to be expected. In addition, the observed intraethnic variability reinforces the need for proper selection of control subjects and points against the use of surrogate control groups for studies involving association of CYP2C8 or CYP2C9 alleles with adverse drug reactions or spontaneous diseases. 相似文献
