Campylocentrum guarinae sp. nov. (Vandeae,Orchidaceae) from Colombia

A new species of Campylocentrum from the Colombian Andes, C. guarinae, is described, illustrated and placed within a key to Colombian species of the genus. The new species resembles C. lansbergii from which it differs in vegetative and floral characters. The main differences between these species are described and illustrated.

Hyaloscyphaceae in Japan (3):Venturiocistella japonica sp. nov.

Venturiocistella japonica, a new species in the Hyaloscyphaceae, Leotiales, is described and illustrated. The fungus is featured by minute apothecia and hairs with secondary morphologenesis. Mycoscience38: 187–205. 1997.

Abstract

Two little known species of Cheilolejeunea, C. microscypha (Hook.f. & Taylor) M.Wigginton, comb. nov. (a reinstated St Helena liverwort), and C. rotalis (Hook.f. & Taylor) M.Wigginton comb. nov., endemic to St Helena, South Atlantic Ocean, are described and illustrated, and oil bodies of C. ascensionis (Hook.f. & Taylor) Grolle are newly described and illustrated.     

Amomum dampuianum and A. mizoramense spp. nov. (Zingiberaceae) from Mizoram,northeast India

Two new species of Amomum (Zingiberaceae) from Mizoram are described and illustrated: A. dampuianum and A. mizoramense. Photographs, a comparison with the allied species A. corynostachyum and A. hypoleucum, and a key to the species of Amomum known in Mizoram is also provided.

Dalea acracarpica, from Chiapas, Mexico is described, illustrated, and referred to sect. Parosela ser. Lasiostomae: the var. chilensis is a yellow-flowered Chilean counterpart of purple Peruvian D. pennellii var. pennellii.     

Revision of New Zealand Orthotylinae (Insecta: Hemiptera: Miridae)

Abstract

Six genera and 11 species of Orthotylinae are now known from New Zealand. Zanchius Distant is newly recorded. One new genus, Tridiplous, and seven new species of endemic New Zealand Orthotylini are described and illustrated. Four new species are described in Tridiplous: T. burrus, T. parvapiatus, T. penmani, and T. virens, and three new species are described in Zanchius: Z. ater, Z. rubicrux, and Z. totus. Keys are provided to identify New Zealand taxa of the tribes of Orthotylinae, genera and species of Halticini, genera of Orthotylini, and species of Tridiplous and Zanchius. The bugs are illustrated with colour habitus photos, and drawings including male and female genitalia. Economic importance is discussed.

A new variety ofDraba oreibata, var.serpentina, is described, illustrated, and discussed.     

Epimedium jingzhouense sp. nov. (Berberidaceae) from Hunan,China

Epimedium jingzhouense from the Hunan Province in central–southeastern China is described, illustrated and compared with its nearest allies, E. myrianthum, E. multiflorum and E. boreali‐guizhouense.     

Hyaloscyphaceae in Japan (6): the genus Hyphodiscus in Japan and its anamorph Catenulifera gen. nov.

Three Hyphodiscus species are described and illustrated: Hyphodiscus otanii sp. nov., Hyphodiscus hymeniophilus, and H. theiodeus, which is new to Japan. Culture studies revealed Phialophora-like anamorphs. Catenulifera gen. nov. is proposed for the anamorph of Hyphodiscus. The history of the genus is reviewed. Hyphodiscus can be delimited to members with gelatinized excipulum, Cistella-like hairs with more coarse granulation, small asci, ascospores with conspicuous globules, cylindrical, flexuous paraphyses, and a Catenulifera anamorph. Taxonomic studies of nectrioid fungi in Japan. I: The genus Neonectria

Five species of the genus Neonectria (Nectriaceae, Hypocreales) collected from Japan are described with discussion and illustrated. Among them, one found on dead twigs of a broad-leaved tree is described as a new species, Neonectria tokyoensis (anamorph: Cylindrocarpon tokyoense). Neonectria cinnamomea and Neo. discophora are newly added to the Japanese mycobiota. Nectria azureo-ostiolata, recorded in 1977 from Japan, is reexamined as a synonym of Neo. jungneri. Neonectria radicicola, teleomorph of Cy. destructans, a well-known soil-borne plant pathogen in Japan, is newly recorded from Japan. Additional distribution records are provided for the Neonectria species hitherto recorded in Japan.     

713. EPIMEDIUM STEARNII

A new species of Epimedium, E. stearnii Ogisu & Rix is described and illustrated. It commemorates William T. Stearn (1911–2001), who, in addition to all his other interests and achievements, studied the genus Epimedium for many years and described several new species.     

912. PETROCOSMEA THERMOPUNCTA

Petrocosmea thermopuncta, a probable hybrid species from Yunnan, is described and illustrated. Formerly known in cultivation as P. grandiflora, this taxon is named thermopuncta (hotspot) with reference to the dark spot in the corolla tube and its growing in a biodiversity hotspot, (though of uncertain geographical provenance).     

Crucisoma bernardi n.g., n.sp. (Crustacea: Copepoda) parasitic in a deep-sea mollusc Cuspidaria filatovae Bernard, 1979 (Bivalvia: Anomalodesmata)

Summary Crucisoma bernardi, a copepod parasitizing a deepsea mollusc, Cuspidaria filatovae (Bivalvia: Anomalodesmata) off the coast of Oregon, is described and illustrated. A definitely poecilostomatoid copepod, belonging to a new genus, this species is treated by the author as incertae sedis, although there are many reasons why it should provide grounds for the erection of a new family. ac]19810127     

湖南张家界国家森林公园土壤中的暗色丝孢菌

自湖南张家界国家森林公园采集的15份土样中,分离获得32个暗色丝孢菌分离物,经鉴定分别属于15属中的19个种。其中,湖南小带孢Taeniolella hunanensis为一新种,昏暗色串孢Torula caligans和小孢维郎那霉Veronaea parvispora为中国新记录种。对其它16个中国已报道种亦作了分离生境的引证。研究过的标本(干制培养物)与活菌种存放在山东农业大学植物病理学标本室(HSAUP)。     

Alpinia newmanii sp. nov. (Zingiberaceae) from central Vietnam

Alpinia newmanii, a new species from central Vietnam, is described and illustrated. A morphological comparison with the most closely related species and a key to the species of Alpinia subsection Catimbium in Vietnam are provided.     

881. ACER OBTUSATUM

Acer obtusatum Waldst. & Kit. ex Willd. is illustrated and described. Its relationships with other species in section Acer series monspessulana, notably A. opalus Mill. are discussed.     

Taxonomic studies on new or critical fungi of non-pathogenic Onygenales 4

Three noteworthy taxa of soil-borne onygenalean fungi are described and illustrated:Kraurogymnocarpa trochleospora, comb. nov.,Kuehniella aurea, comb. nov., andNannizziopsis albicans. In addition,Aphanoascus boninensis, which was previously described as a new species, is considered to be a synonym ofUncinocarpus orissi.     

1061. Lunaria annua subsp. pachyrrhiza (Borb as) Maire & Petitm.,: Cruciferae (Brassicaceae)

Lunaria annua is overviewed and its two subspecies, subsp. annua and subsp. pachyrrhiza, discussed, the latter described. Two cultivars of subsp. pachyrrhiza, ‘Corfu Blue’ and ‘Mistras’ are illustrated and described. Details of cultivation are also included.     

Oberonia swaminathanii sp. nov. (Orchidaceae) from Kerala,India

Oberonia swaminathanii, a new species of Orchidaceae from Wayanad district, Kerala, India is described and illustrated. The new species resembles Oberonia balakrishnanii, O. chandrasekharanii and O. seidenfadeniana by its 3‐lobed labellum and 2‐lobuled midlobe; but differs in having brick‐red coloured flowers, triangular labellum disc, and a subglobose column.
