Out-crossing indices (the out-rcrossing rate, the frequency of plants with cross-pollination and outcrossing intensity) in F2 plants of winter common wheat from the reciprocal cross B-16 x Odesskaya Krasnokolosaya were analysed using storage proteins as genetic markers. Outcrossing indices greatly differed depending on growth conditions. The out-crossing rate was 0,35 % (Odessa, 2000) and 5,11% (Kyiv, 2004). The highest out-crossing indices were detected in homozygotes for the presence of the rye 1BL/1RS translocation. The out-crossing indices in heterozygotes for the presence of the 1BL/1RS translocation were intermediate. Differences in the out-crossing indices were detected between populations of F2 plants derived from direct and reciprocal crossing. Different directions of these differences were noted for the out-rcrossing rate and the frequency of plants with cross-pollination, on the one hand, and out-crossing intensity, on the other hand.  相似文献

Mutation techniques have been used for generating genetic variation and breeding new varieties during the past decades. However, the skepticism has also persisted during the course on the sole mutational origin of genetic variation in mutated populations. We addressed this issue using three unique rice genetic lines in this study. First, we confirmed that gamma rays had significant effect on the growth of M1 plants, leading to significant reduction of fertility, seed set and plant height at doses 200 Gy and above. Second, we proved that out-crossing derived genetic variants existed in M2 population (0.8%) and among selected putative mutants (0–33.3%), in addition to induced mutants. Third, we demonstrated that true induced mutant lines had identical microsatellite haplotypes to their parents. We proposed microsatellite assay as a method to exclude any genetic contaminants from induced mutants, with appropriate numbers for different levels of power based on reported microsatellite mutation rate and microsatellite polymorphic index.  相似文献

Inheritance of the ability to produce androgenic structures and regenerate plants in an in vitro anther culture with doubled-haploid spring barley lines derived from F1 reciprocal hybrids from crosses of cultivars with contrast (high × low), high (high × high), and low (low × low) growth capacity is studied. A general trend towards transgressive segregation in terms of the indices, “number of anthers with new growths” and “rate of regeneration of plants,” was found. The data attest to a major role of nonallelic interaction of genes in genetic control of in vitro androgenesis and their variance distribution in the parent forms of the hybrids.  相似文献

Snow , Richard . (U. California, Davis.) Chromosomal differentiation in Clarkia dudleyana. Amer. Jour. Bot. 47 (4) : 302—309. Illus. 1960.—Clarkia dudleyana (n=9) is a common, colonial annual of the early-summer California flora. Of 275 individuals, derived from 9 natural populations and their garden-grown representatives, 17.1% were heterozygous for reciprocal translocations. Supernumerary chromosomes were also found in about 2% of the plants examined. The translocation heterozygotes are not distributed regularly over the species range but are concentrated near the geographical center of distribution. Most of the populations contained none or only a few heterozygotes, but in one colony 69% of 42 plants sampled were heterozygous. Judging from the meiotic metaphase associations observed, at least 5 different chromosome arrangements are present at this locality. Hybrids between colonies have invariably been translocation heterozygotes, the largest association found in such hybrids being a chain of all 18 chromosomes (a potential ring of 18). No correlation is evident between geographical separation and degree of cytological differentiation. Heterozygotes with smaller rings of 4 or 6 chromosomes, whether from natural populations or resulting from interpopulation hybridization, are highly fertile owing to the regular alternate disjunction of the chromosomes of the rings. In the larger rings of 12 to 18 chromosomes, derived from interpopulation crosses, segregation is much more irregular and leads to high sterility. It is possible that at least in some localities the heterozygotes enjoy a selective advantage over their homozygous sibs. It is also postulated that homozygosity for a particular chromosome arrangement may be selectively favored in a certain habitat, as a result of a position effect attendant upon placing formerly non-linked genes in the same linkage group through reciprocal translocation. The high degree of chromosomal differentiation between some populations of this species suggests that the complex heterozygotes of Oenothera have arisen as a result of hybridization of cytologically differentiated races.  相似文献

The index of relative competition intensity (RCI) has serious built‐in biases, due to its asymptotic behavior when competition intensity is high and its tendency to obtain very low values when plants with neighbors intact perform better than neighbor removal plants. These biases have been partially corrected in the index of relative neighbor effect (RNE), but the existence of fixed upper and lower bounds (?1≤RNE≤+1) still creates problems and biases in communities where the average intensity of competition or facilitation is high and plant performance pronouncedly varies in space. The third commonly used index, the logarithm of response ratio (lnRR), is mathematically and statistically sound, but when computed from pair‐wise comparisons between neighbor removal and control plants, this index reflects the geometric mean of the treatment effect. Moreover, linear patterns in lnRR reflect exponential patterns in the intensity of competition. As the interest of ecologists usually focuses on arithmetic means, we propose a corrected index of relative competition intensity, CRCI=arc sin (RNE). This index is fairly linear within the observed ranges of competition and facilitation, and for the range of competition intensities where RNE behaves reasonably, the two indices obtain almost identical values. We compared the performance of the four indices, using both imagined and real data, the latter from systems where the responses of plants to neighbor removal ranged from weak to moderate, so that RNE and CRCI were expected to behave similarly. The indices were computed both from pooled data for each community and as averages of pair‐wise comparisons. lnRR and CRCI were found to behave in a consistent and bias‐free manner, yielding similar results regardless of method of computation. This was, by and large, the case with RNE, too, but as the values of indices grew, the values from pair‐wise comparisons became increasingly smaller than values computed from pooled data. RCI yielded grossly aberrant results in computations based on pair‐wise comparisons. Therefore, the further use of RCI is unadvisable and studies where RCI has been derived from pair‐wise comparisons should be excluded from meta‐analyses.  相似文献

The effect of K deficiency on sucrose transport was studied in bean plants from which the cotyledons had been removed soon after germination and which were subsequently grown in culture solution. Labelled sucrose wassupplied to the primary leaf. Mild Kdeficiency depressed translocation. A statistically significant interaction between the presence of K and light was observed. K deficiency had no effect on translocation if the plants had been placed in the dark before the experiment and remained in the dark during the translocationperiod. Maximum correction for differences in the specific activity of the sugar being translocated, as between control and K-deficient plants (based on sugar analyses in various plant parts), failed to abolish the K effect when the amount of sugar applied was relatively low (high specific activity). On the other hand no effect of K-deficiency was observed on translocation when the amount of applied sugar was high (low specific activity). In this case 14CO2 fixation was greatly reduced in the controls, but not in the K-deficient plants. Significant interaction existed between added sugar and K-deficiency on 14CO2 fixation. All results reported here can be explained on the basis of a scheme whereby K plays a rôle in reversible intermediate steps between sugar formation in the chloroplast and the entry of this photosynthesised sugar into the “translocation pool” where it mixes with exogenous sugar.  相似文献

The mass transfer rate of 14C-sucrose translocation from sugar beet (Beta vulgaris, L.) leaves was measured over a range of net photosynthesis rates from 0 to 60 milligrams of CO2 decimeters−2 hour−1 under varying conditions of light intensity, CO2 concentration, and O2 concentration. The resulting rate of translocation of labeled photosynthate into total sink tissue was a linear function (slope = 0.18) of the net photosynthesis rate of the source leaf regardless of light intensity (2000, 3700, or 7200 foot-candles), O2 concentration (21% or 1% O2), or CO2 concentration (900 microliters/liter of CO2 to compensation concentration). These data support the theory that the mass transfer rate of translocation under conditions of sufficient sink demand is limited by the net photosynthesis rate or more specifically by sucrose synthesis and this limitation is independent of light intensity per se. The rate of translocation was not saturated even at net photosynthesis rates four times greater than the rate occurring at 300 microliters/liter of CO2, 21% O2, and saturating light intensity.  相似文献

Summary In this report the Leuven experience (1970–1984) on reciprocal translocations is summarized. A total of 153 unrelated index patients, carriers of different types of reciprocal translocations, and their families were investigated. Familial reciprocal, apparently balanced translocations were found in 75 unrelated families bringing the total numbers of translocation carrier parents and their offspring to 132 and 445, respectively. In 61.5% of the patients the reciprocal translocation was detected after the birth of a malformed child with unbalanced karyotype or through investigation because of recurrent spontaneous abortions, stillbirths, or infertility. In 41 patients (28 familial and 13 de novo), however, the reciprocal balanced translocation was found to be associated with mental retardation and/or congenital malformations (MR/CM) which is significantly higher than expected. This excess of MR/CM in de novo and familial balanced translocation carriers is illustrated and discussed.  相似文献

Banana (Musa sp) plants regenerated from in vitro culture were employed to study varietal differences of 32P uptake. The results demonstrated that the selected varieties exhibited considerable variation for absorption, translocation and transport index of PO4 uptake. Use of tissue cultured derived plants can be efficiently utilised to analyse varietal differences in 32P uptake.  相似文献

Summary The F2 potential of single and three-way crosses was evaluated using a set of physiological and yield components. Results were based on an index of selection using (a) only yield components and (b) both physiological and yield components. The indices were constructed using the percentage improvement of F2 over the better parent of the corresponding F1 cross for every character. The performance of F2 plants assessed by the expected value of the regression index was ranked in descending order to provide a ranked F2 distribution (FRD). The FRD was divided into four equal parts, T25 (top 25%), T50 (26–50%), T75 (51–75%) and T100 (76–100%). F3 families derived from F2 plants in T25 were found to provide a higher frequency of selections for pod number than T50, T75 and T100. The frequency of selections was higher in three-way than single crosses. Selection index based on physiological and yield components was more efficient in trapping F2 plants providing selections in F3 than the index based on yield components only. The results brought out the importance of bunch x bunch crosses as a complement to the usually advocated bunch x runner ones.  相似文献

以IR36及IR54等品种的成熟种子及幼穗为外植体,获得籼稻体细胞培养再分化植株,并研究了再生植株当代(即第一代,SC_1)的染色体变异。在319株SC_1植株中发现四倍体10株,占总数的3.1%。在二倍体中发现不育株7株(占2.2%),其中经细胞学分析发现2株(1984及1985年各发现1株)为多染色体相互易位杂合子。减数分裂的研究表明,MRT植株终变期时染色体构形呈十分复杂的情况。除正常的12 Ⅱ外,还呈现出一系列的多价体。配对最高价性为拾价体,7 Ⅱ+1Ⅹ的构形占各种染色体构形总数的50.7%,分布最多。在这类染色体构形中,拾价染色体或呈环形(以7 Ⅱ+1⑩表示),或呈链形(以7 Ⅱ+1(?)表示)。这表明该植株12对染色体中有5条非同源染色体发生了相互易位,而这两株植株正是这种染色体易位的杂合子。  相似文献

峨眉拟单性木兰的开花生物学特性与繁育系统   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
为阐明峨眉拟单性木兰(Parakmeria omeiensis)在自然条件结实率低的原因和确定最佳人工授粉时期,该文通过观察峨眉拟单性木兰的开花动态,采用杂交指数估算、花粉胚珠比、花粉活力及柱头活性检测、人工授粉试验等方法对其繁育系统进行了研究。结果表明:(1)植物园保育的峨眉拟单性木兰花期在4月底到5月中下旬,持续17~23 d,雄株始花期比雌株早3~4 d,但两者花期可遇。(2)两性花经检测雄蕊败育,实为功能上的雌性,部分雄株个体的雄花上残留1~2个心皮,其性别分化是通过雌、雄蕊选择性败育形成的,为隐性雌雄异株(cryptic dioecy)。(3)雄花、两性花开放经历佛焰苞开裂、花被片开裂、展开、闭合、二次开放、凋落6个阶段,历时4 d。(4)雄花初次展开时花粉活力最高,达92.8%,开花2 d后活力显著下降;两性花柱头在花被片展开期可授性最强,盛开后柱头部分可授。(5)杂交指数为5,P/O比为2.14×10~4。(6)套袋试验表明,峨眉拟单性木兰不能进行自花传粉,人工异花授粉的结实率和出种数显著高于自然授粉,且不存在无融合生殖。这说明峨眉拟单性木兰繁育系统为专性异交,传粉过程需要传粉媒介,自然条件下结实率低,主要是受传粉昆虫和柱头可授期短的限制。  相似文献

Exposure of cotton seeds to thermal neutrons at doses of 15, 25, and 35 Gy was shown to induce many biomorphologically abnormal plants, including sterile and chimeric ones. Most of these phenotypic changes were shown to result from novel genomic, chromosomal, and desynaptic mutations. The presence of these mutations in the karyotype of M1 plants often decreased meiotic index and pollen fertility. In translocation forms, the decrease in pollen fertility was caused by the prevalence of quadrivalents in form of rings and chains with adjacent segregation of chromosomes from the translocation complexes. Based on the shapes and sizes of multivalent associations, we performed preliminary localization of translocation breakpoints. A specific feature of the effect of thermal neuron irradiation in M1 was induction of numerous unique chromosomal aberrations, consisting in the appearance in the same plant of several types of mutations (genomic and chromosomal), interchange complexes in the same nucleus, and multiple interchanges involving three nonhomologous chromosomes.  相似文献

Haynaldia villosa Schur. (syn. Dasypyrum villosum Candargy, 2n=14, VV) has been proved to be an important genetic resource for wheat improvement. The development of translocation with small alien chromosome segments, especially interstitial translocation, will be helpful for better utilization of its useful genes. Up to now, most of the reported Triticum aestivum-H. villosa translocation lines are involved in a whole arm or large alien fragments. In this paper, we report a highly efficient approach for the creation of small chromosome segment translocation lines. Before flowering, the female gametes of wheat-H. villosa 6VS/6AL translocation line were irradiated by 60CO-γ ray at 160 Rad/M dosage rate and three dosages (1600, 1920, 2240 Rad). Anthers were removed from the irradiated florets on the same day and the florets were pollinated with normal fresh pollens of T. aestivum cv. Chinese Spring after 2 — 3 days. Genomic in situ hybridization (GISH) at mitosis metaphase of root-tip cell of M1 plants was used to detect the chromosome structural changes involving 6VS of H. villosa. Among the 534 M1 plants screened, 97 plants contained small segment chromosome structural changes of 6VS, including 80 interstitial translocation chromosomes, 57 terminal translocation chromosomes and 55 deletion chromosomes. For the 2240 Rad dosage treatment, the inducement frequencies of interstitial translocation, terminal translocation and deletion were 21.02%, 14.01%, and 14.65%, respectively, which were much higher than those previously reported. The M2 seeds were obtained by backcrossing of 74 M1 plants involving 146 chromosomes structural changes of 6VS, and it was found that the structural aberrations in the M1 plants could be transmitted to their progenies. Irradiating mature female gametes of whole arm translocation is a new and highly efficient approach for creation of small segment chromosome structural changes, especially for interstitial translocations.  相似文献

以异裂菊属5个种的实生苗为试验材料,通过田间观察,采用TTC法、联苯胺-过氧化氢法、杂交指数、花粉-胚珠比等方法,对异裂菊属的开花物候、花部特征、繁育系统及访花昆虫行为进行了研究。结果表明:(1)绢叶异裂菊的花期最早,为6~7月份;小花异裂菊和柳州异裂菊花期为6~8月份;凹脉异裂菊和异裂菊的花期为8~12月份,整个花期持续约5个多月,单花花期约为3d,单个花序花期约为5d。(2)异裂菊属的花粉在开花后1~18h具有活力,柱头的可授性持续约48h;杂交指数OCI为4,花粉/胚珠比(P/O)为1 450~2 250,繁育系统属于异交、部分自交亲和,需要传粉者。(3)传粉昆虫主要是食蚜蝇科灰带管食蚜蝇和胡蜂科黑尾胡蜂,昆虫访花高峰期在上午10:00~12:00,每次可连续访问多朵花,每朵花访问时间约为2~10s。  相似文献

Four successive reciprocal backcrosses between F1 (obtained from wild Brassica juncea as maternal plants and transgenic glyphosate- or glufosinate-tolerant oilseed rape, B. napus, as paternal plants) or subsequent herbicide-tolerant backcross progenies and wild B. juncea were achieved by hand pollination to assess potential transgene flow. The third and forth reciprocal backcrosses produced a number of seeds per silique similar to that of self-pollinated wild B. juncea, except in plants with glufosinate-tolerant backcross progeny used as maternal plants and wild B. juncea as paternal plants, which produced fewer seeds per silique than did self-pollinated wild B. juncea. Germination percentages of reciprocal backcross progenies were high and equivalent to those of wild B. juncea. The herbicide-tolerant first reciprocal backcross progenies produced fewer siliques per plant than did wild B. juncea, but the herbicide-tolerant second or third reciprocal backcross progenies did not differ from the wild B. juncea in siliques per plant. The herbicide-tolerant second and third reciprocal backcross progenies produced an amount of seeds per silique similar to that of wild B. juncea except for with the glufosinate-tolerant first and second backcross progeny used as maternal plants and wild B. juncea as paternal plants. In the presence of herbicide selection pressure, inheritance of the glyphosate-tolerant transgene was stable across the second and third backcross generation, whereas the glufosinate-tolerant transgene was maintained, despite a lack of stabilized introgression. The occurrence of fertile, transgenic weed-like plants after only three crosses (F1, first backcross, second backcross) suggests a potential rapid spread of transgenes from oilseed rape into its wild relative wild B. juncea. Transgene flow from glyphosate-tolerant oilseed rape might be easier than that from glufosinate-tolerant oilseed rape to wild B. juncea. The original insertion site of the transgene could affect introgression.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to investigate the sensitivity of new surface electromyography (sEMG) indices based on the discrete wavelet transform to estimate acute exercise-induced changes on muscle power output during a dynamic fatiguing protocol. Fifteen trained subjects performed five sets consisting of 10 leg press, with 2 min rest between sets. sEMG was recorded from vastus medialis (VM) muscle. Several surface electromyographic parameters were computed. These were: mean rectified voltage (MRV), median spectral frequency (Fmed), Dimitrov spectral index of muscle fatigue (FInsm5), as well as five other parameters obtained from the stationary wavelet transform (SWT) as ratios between different scales. The new wavelet indices showed better accuracy to map changes in muscle power output during the fatiguing protocol. Moreover, the new wavelet indices as a single parameter predictor accounted for 46.6% of the performance variance of changes in muscle power and the log-FInsm5 and MRV as a two-factor combination predictor accounted for 49.8%. On the other hand, the new wavelet indices proposed, showed the highest robustness in presence of additive white Gaussian noise for different signal to noise ratios (SNRs). The sEMG wavelet indices proposed may be a useful tool to map changes in muscle power output during dynamic high-loading fatiguing task.  相似文献

Barley yellow dwarf (BYD) is the most important viral disease of small cereal grains. True resistance to the disease is not found in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), but it has been introgressed from Thinopyrum intermedium (Ti) on chromosome 7DL of recombinant wheat lines designated TC. The objectives of our study were to identify a high through-put scoring tool for the presence of the translocated Th. intermedium fragment and to assess its suitability for evaluating resistance to BYDV in segregating populations. Segregation of the Ti fragment was followed in the F2 population of an Anza (bread wheat) by TC14/2*Spear (TC14) cross. Resistance to BYDV isolates PAV-Mex and MAV-Mex in F3, F4, and F5 populations was evaluated under field and/or greenhouse conditions by measuring the virus titers of infected plants using ELISA, and the number of infected plants per plot. The SSR marker gwm37 was polymorphic for the translocation. In F4 lines it was associated with the physical presence of an intact translocation on chromosome 7DL and with low virus titers of BYDV-PAV. Reductions in virus titer of 27% and 55% in the F3 and 18% and 45% in the F5 populations were observed when the fragment was present in the heterozygous and homozygous states, respectively, confirming a dosage effect of the resistance allele. A lower proportion of infected individuals in the field was associated with the presence of the fragment, indicating a mechanism that may interfere with aphid feeding or virus translocation within infected plants. Despite significant differences between groups with and without the fragment, the OD values of infected lines overlapped, and it was not possible to definitively detect the fragment based solely on ELISA. We conclude that gwm37 is a reliable marker for the Ti translocation that will allow efficient detection of the translocation in breeding populations and greatly assist in selecting BYDV-resistant wheats in the absence of the disease. Various indices are used in the scientific literature to describe biodiversity changes. Nevertheless, the appropriateness of an index rather than another to transcribe trends in biodiversity of plankton communities is not clearly established.So, starting from the definitions of the diversity indices of Simpson, Gleason-Margalef, Menhinick, Brillouin, Shannon, Patten, Piélou and Hurlbert, the aim of this work is to state, under the assumption that the total number of individual is great, a mathematical convergence between the indices of Brillouin, Shannon, Simpson's reciprocal, Hurlbert on the one hand and between the indices of Piélou and Patten on the other hand. More particularly, it will be also established that these last two indices are complementary provided that the total number of individual is greater than the number of species. Gleason-Margalef's and Menhinick's indices will be considered as independents.Thus, such a convergence will lead to propose a classification of these indices into three great groups reducing their number from eight to four. This theoretical result will be then applied on phytoplankton and zooplankton communities of two neighbouring bays differently affected by anthropogenic inputs in NW Mediterranean Sea (Toulon area, France) throughout three consecutive annual cycles. A strong statistical correlation between the indices belonging to the same group seems to confirm the validity of our classification.  相似文献
