TSS及CaCl2转化方法的比较

目的 :比较 TSS及 Ca Cl2 二种转化方法的转化效率。方法 :用 TSS及 Ca Cl2 方法转化质粒 p QE,并比较二者的转化效率及简便性。结果 :Ca Cl2 方法的转化效率为 5 .6× 10 6转化子 / μg DNA,TSS方法转化效率为 8.2× 10 7转化子 / μg DNA;TSS转化方法不需要 42℃热休克。结论 :TSS转化方法优于 Ca Cl2 转化方法。     

818. WISTERIA FLORIBUNDA WITH THE TORTUOUS TALE OF THE JAPANESE WISTERIA WITH THE LONGEST RACEMES

The history of the Japanese Wisteria with the longest racemes is fully investigated, with a review of all the names applied to it. The name W. macrobotrys is shown to belong to a different cultivar group now widely grown under the names ‘Burford’, ‘Honko’ and ‘Hocker Edge’. The new combination W. floribunda f. multijuga (Van Houtte) J. Compton & G. Thijsse is made in order to establish long‐term nomenclatural stability. A lectotype is designated for the hybrid name W. × formosa Rehder.     

CATARACT EXTRACTION WITH THE ERISOPHAKE

Today the erisophake offers the most successful means for the intracapsular extraction of cataracts. The advantages of this method are that no counterpressure is required so that the incidence of vitreous loss is reduced; the vacuum cup provides a firmer grasp of the lens with less danger of rupture of the lens capsule; and the vacuum cup can be used for the delivery of practically all types of cataract in the adult, including intumescent and Morgagnian cataracts as well as lenses with exfoliating and friable capsules.While the forceps method of intracapsular extraction is generally successful in not more than 70 to 75 per cent of cases, the erisophake may offer success in 90 per cent of cases.

An attempt was made to analyse the ringing returns of the Cape Vulture Gyps coprotheres from Transvaal colonies. Although it is not yet possible to determine annual mortality rates, some conclusions can be deduced from the results. Mortality during the early age classes is high and is over 500; during the first year. Mortality must decline rapidly with age, but it seems probable that recruitment to the breeding population at these colonies is insufficient to balance adult mortality and the population may be declining.
