Eu2+‐doped Sr2SiO4 phosphor with Ca2+/Zn2+ substitution, (Sr1–xMx)2SiO4:Eu2+ (M = Ca, Zn), was prepared using a high‐temperature solid‐state reaction method. The structure and luminescence properties of Ca2+/Zn2+ partially substituted Sr2SiO4:Eu2+ phosphors were investigated in detail. With Ca2+ or Zn2+ added to the silicate host, the crystal phase could be transformed between the α‐form and the β‐form of the Sr2SiO4 structure. Under UV excitation at 367 nm, all samples exhibit a broad band emission from 420 to 680 nm due to the 4f65d1 → 4f7 transition of Eu2+ ions. The broad emission band consists of two peaks at 482 and 547 nm, which correspond to Eu2+ ions occupying the ten‐fold oxygen‐coordinated Sr.(I) site and the nine‐fold oxygen‐coordinated Sr.(II) site, respectively. The luminescence properties, including the intensity and lifetime of Sr2SiO4:Eu2+ phosphors, improved remarkably on Ca2+/Zn2+ addition, and promote its application in white light‐emitting diodes. CaMgSi2O6:Eu2+,Dy3+ and CaMgSi2O6:Eu2+,Ce3+ phosphors were synthesized using the solid‐state reaction method. X‐Ray diffraction (XRD) and photoluminescence (PL) analyses were used to characterize the phosphors. The XRD results revealed that the synthesized CaMgSi2O6:Eu2+,Dy3+ and CaMgSi2O6:Eu2+,Ce3+ phosphors were crystalline and are assigned to the monoclinic structure with a space group C2/c. The calculated crystal sizes of CaMgSi2O6:Eu2+,Dy3+ and CaMgSi2O6:Eu2+,Ce3+ phosphors with a main (221) diffraction peak were 44.87 and 53.51 nm, respectively. Energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy (EDX) confirmed the proper preparation of the sample. The PL emission spectra of CaMgSi2O6:Eu2+,Dy3+ and CaMgSi2O6:Eu2+,Ce3+ phosphors have a broad band peak at 444.5 and 466 nm, respectively, which is due to electronic transition from 4f65d1 to 4f7. The afterglow results indicate that the CaMgSi2O6:Eu2+,Dy3+ phosphor has better persistence luminescence than the CaMgSi2O6:Eu2+,Ce3+ phosphor. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A yellow‐emitting phosphor NaY(MoO4)2:Dy3+ was synthesized using a solid‐state reaction at 550 °C for 4 h, and its luminescent properties were investigated. Its phase formation was studied using X‐ray powder diffraction analysis, and there were no crystalline phases other than NaY(MoO4)2. NaY(MoO4)2:Dy3+ produced yellow emission under 386 or 453 nm excitation, and the prominent luminescence was yellow (575 nm) due to the 4 F9/26H13/2 transition of Dy3+. For the 575 nm emission, the excitation spectrum had one broad band and some narrow peaks; the peaks were located at 290, 351, 365, 386, 426, 453 and 474 nm. Emission intensities were influenced by the Dy3+ doping content and a concentration quenching effect was observed; the phenomenon was also proved by the decay curves. Moreover, the Commission International de I'Eclairage chromaticity coordinates of NaY(MoO4)2:Dy3+ showed similar values at different Dy3+ concentrations, and were located in the yellow region. Two synthesis routes, solid‐state reaction and precipitation reaction, were employed to prepare BaSiO3:Eu2+ phosphors in this study. Discrepancies in the luminescence green emission at 505 nm for the solid‐state reaction method sample and in the yellow emission at 570 nm for the sample prepared by the precipitation reaction method, were observed respectively. A detail investigation about the discrepant luminescence of BaSiO3:Eu2+ phosphors was performed by evaluation of X‐ray diffraction (XRD), photoluminescence (PL)/photoluminescence excitation (PLE), decay time and thermal quenching properties. The results showed that the yellow emission was generated from the BaSiO3:Eu2+ phosphor, while the green emission was ascribed to a small amount of Ba2SiO4:Eu2+ compound that was present in the solid‐state reaction sample. This work clarifies the luminescence properties of Eu2+ ions in BaSiO3 and Ba2SiO4 hosts.  相似文献

Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ phosphor was prepared by the solid‐state reaction method under a weak reducing atmosphere. The obtained phosphor was characterized using X‐ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy (EDX) and Fourier transform infrared (FT‐IR) techniques. The phase structure of the Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ phosphor was akermanite type, which is a member of the melilite group. The surface morphology of the sintered phosphor was not uniform and phosphors aggregated tightly. EDX and FT‐IR spectra confirm the elements present in the Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ phosphor. Under UV excitation, a broadband emission spectrum was found. The emission spectra observed in the green region centered at 535 nm, which is due to the 4f–5d transition. The mechanoluminescence (ML) intensity of the prepared phosphor increased linearly with increases in the mechanical load. The ML spectra were similar to the photoluminescence (PL), which indicates that ML is emitted from the same emitting center of Eu2+ ions as PL. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Sr3(PO4)2:Dy3+,Li+ phosphors were prepared using a simple high temperature solid method for luminescence enhancement. The structures of the as‐prepared samples agreed well with the standard phase of Sr3(PO4)2, even when Dy3+ and Li+ were introduced. Under ultraviolet excitation at 350 nm, the Sr3(PO4)2:Dy3+ sample exhibited two emission peaks at 483 nm and 580 nm, which were due to the 4F9/2 → 6H15/2 and 4F9/2 → 6H13/2 transitions of Dy3+ ions, respectively. A white light was fabricated using these two emissions from the Sr3(PO4)2:Dy3+ phosphors. The luminescence properties of Sr3(PO4)2:Dy3+,Li+ phosphors, including emission intensity and decay time, were improved remarkably with the addition of Li+ as the charge compensator, which would promote their application in near‐ultraviolet excited white‐light‐emitting diodes.  相似文献

BaGd2‐xO4:xEu3+ and Ba1‐yGd1.79‐2yEu0.21Na3yO4 phosphors were synthesized at 1300°C in air by conventional solid‐state reaction method. Phosphors were characterized by X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), photoluminescence excitation (PLE) spectra, photoluminescence (PL) spectra and thermoluminescence (TL) spectra. Optimal PL intensity for BaGd2‐xO4:xEu3+ and Ba1‐yGd1.79‐2yEu0.21Na3yO4 phosphors at 276 nm excitation were found to be x = 0.24 and y = 0.125, respectively. The PL intensity of Eu3+ emission could only be enhanced by 1.3 times with incorporation of Na+ into the BaGd2O4 host. Enhanced luminescence was attributed to the flux effect of Na+ ions. However, when BaGd2O4:Eu3+ phosphors were codoped with Na+ ions, the induced defects confirmed by TL spectra impaired the emission intensity of Eu3+ ions. Highly efficient red‐emitting phosphors, CaAlSiN3:Eu2+, were successfully prepared by the solid‐state method using calcium cyanide (CaCN2) as the single calcium source. The influences of crystallization temperature, crystallization time, calcination mode and compounds ratio on the photoluminescent properties were investigated. The CaAlSiN3:Eu2+ phosphors were obtained with 1 mol% CaCN2 by a two‐step calcination procedure at 900°C for 2 h and subsequently at 1600°C for 8 h. The CaAlSiN3:Eu2+ phosphors showed the strongest luminescent intensity at 660 nm when excited by 468 nm. With an increase in crystallization time, the maximum wavelength of the emission was shifted from 644 nm to 660 nm.  相似文献

White-light-tunable LaMgAl11O19:x%Tb3+, y%Eu3+ series phosphors were prepared using the gel-combustion method. The structure and luminescence properties were studied, and the energy transfer of Eu3+ and Tb3+ in the LaMgAl11O19 system was also discussed. The results showed that the LaMgAl11O19 matrix exhibited strong emission in the blue-light region under the excitation of ultraviolet light, which resulted in conditions suitable for the preparation of white-light-tunable phosphors. The emission spectra of LaMgAl11O19:2%Tb3+, y%Eu3+ (y = 2%–9%) series phosphors were obtained through optimization experiments. It could be seen from the CIE diagram that by adjusting the doping quantities of Eu3+ and Tb3+ in the LaMgAl11O19 host, multicolor luminescence and white light emission in a single host could be achieved. By calculating the energy transfer efficiency and critical distance between Eu3+ and Tb3+ series phosphors, the mechanism of energy transfer between Tb3+ and Eu3+ was found to be the interaction between electric quadruples.  相似文献

Sr3MgSi2O8:Ce3+, Dy3+ phosphors were prepared by a solid‐state reaction technique and the photoluminescence properties were investigated. The emission spectra show not only a band due to Ce3+ ions (403 nm) but also as a band due to Dy3+ ions (480, 575 nm) (UV light excitation). The photoluminescence properties reveal that effective energy transfer occurs in Ce3+/Dy3+ co‐doped Sr3MgSi2O8 phosphors, and the co‐doping of Ce3+ could enhance the emission intensity of Dy3+ to a certain extent by transferring its energy to Dy3+. The Ce3+/Dy3+ energy transfer was investigated by emission/excitation spectra, and photoluminescence decay behaviors. In Sr2.94MgSi2O8:0.01Ce3+, 0.05Dy3+ phosphors, the fluorescence lifetime of Dy3+ (from 3.35 to 27.59 ns) is increased whereas that of Ce3+ is greatly decreased (from 43.59 to 13.55 ns), and this provides indirect evidence of the Ce3+ to Dy3+ energy transfer. The varied emitted color of Sr3MgSi2O8:Ce3+, Dy3+ phosphors from blue to white were achieved by altering the concentration ratio of Ce3+ and Dy3+. These results indicate Sr3MgSi2O8:Ce3+, Dy3+ may be as a candidate phosphor for white light‐emitting diodes. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

NaYF4 micro‐crystals with various concentrations of Yb3+/Tm3+/Ho3+ were prepared successfully via a simple and reproducible hydrothermal route using EDTA as the chelating agent. Their phase structure and surface morphology were studied using powder X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The XRD patterns revealed that all the samples were pure hexagonal phase NaYF4. SEM images showed that Yb3+/Tm3+/Ho3+ tri‐doped NaYF4 were hexagonal micro‐prisms. Upconversion photoluminescence spectra of Yb3+/Tm3+/Ho3+ tri‐doped NaYF4 micro‐crystals with various dopant concentrations under 980 nm excitation with a 665 mW pump power were studied. Tunable multicolor (purple, purplish blue, yellowish green, green) and white light were achieved by simply adjusting the Ho3+ concentration in 20%Yb3+/1%Tm3+/xHo3+ tri‐doped NaYF4 micro‐crystals. Furthermore, white‐light emissions could be obtained using different pump powers in 20%Yb3+/1%Tm3+/1%Ho3+ tri‐doped NaYF4 micro‐crystals at 980 nm excitation. The pump power‐dependent intensity relationship was studied and relevant energy transfer processes were discussed in detail. The results suggest that Yb3+/Tm3+/Ho3+ tri‐doped NaYF4 micro‐crystals have potential applications in optoelectronic devices such as photovoltaic, plasma display panel and white‐light‐emitting diodes. This study synthesized BaMoO4:Eu3+ red phosphors using the microwave method. In addition, the phase composition, morphology, and luminescence properties of the red phosphors were characterized using X-ray diffraction, field-scanning electron microscopy, and photoluminescence spectroscopy. The results revealed that doping red phosphors with different concentrations of Eu3+ does not change the crystal structure of the matrix material. The BaMoO4:Eu3+ phosphors exhibited micron-scale irregular polyhedra, which could be excited by ultraviolet light with a wavelength of 395 nm to induce red-light emission. The optimal dosage of Eu3+ was 0.08, and the chromaticity coordinates of BaMoO4:0.08Eu3+ phosphors were (0.5869, 0.3099). White light-emitting diode (w-LED) devices manufactured by using a combination of BaMoO4:0.08Eu3+ phosphor and commercially available phosphors exhibited good white-light emission under the excitation of an ultraviolet chip. The BaMoO4:0.08Eu3+ red phosphors that rapidly synthesized under the microwave field are expected to be used in w-LED devices.  相似文献

A series of Bi3+,Eu3+‐doped BaMoO4 phosphors was synthesized using a hydrothermal method. The crystal structure, morphology and optical properties of the phosphors were studied using X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and photoluminescence (PL) measurements. Three different particle morphologies were detected in the SEM observation. The energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) results indicated that the solubility of Bi3+ in spherical or rugby‐like BaMoO4 particles was very low and the excess Bi3+ element was cumulated in the irregular particles. Characteristic emissions of Eu3+ ions (5D0 → 7FJ; J = 0, 1, 2, 3, 4) were observed under excitation in ultraviolet (UV) light, with the most intense transition being the 5D0 → 7F2 transition. Energy transfer from MoO42? and Bi3+ to Eu3+ can be readily achieved. Red emission intensity of Eu3+ was enhanced by a factor of two by co‐doping with a small amount of Bi3+. Optical properties as a function of Bi3+ content were studied and the optimum Bi3+ content in BaMoO4 nanocrystals was determined to be 0.4 mol%.  相似文献

The luminescent properties of europium (Eu)‐ and dysprosium (Dy)‐co‐doped K3Ca2(SO4)3Cl halosulfate phosphors were analyzed. This paper reports the photoluminescence (PL) properties of K3Ca2(SO4)3Cl microphosphor doped with Eu and Dy and synthesized using a cost‐effective wet chemical method. The phosphors were characterized by X‐ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The CIE coordinates were calculated to display the color of the phosphor. PL emission of the prepared samples show peaks at 484 nm (blue), 575 nm (yellow), 594 nm (orange) and 617 nm (red). The emission color of the Eu,Dy‐co‐doped K3Ca2(SO4)3Cl halophosphor depends on the doping concentration and excitation wavelength. The addition of Eu in K3Ca2(SO4)3Cl:Dy greatly enhances the intensity of the blue and yellow peaks, which corresponds to the 4 F9/26H15/2 and 4 F9/26H13/2 transitions of Dy3+ ions (under 351 nm excitation). The Eu3+/Dy3+ co‐doping also produces white light emission for 1 mol% of Eu3+, 1 mol% of Dy3+ in the K3Ca2(SO4)3Cl lattice under 396 nm excitation, for which the calculated chromaticity coordinates are (0.35, 0.31). Thus, K3Ca2(SO4)3Cl co‐doped with Eu/Dy is a suitable candidate for NUV based white light‐emitting phosphors technology. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The new borate phosphor CaB2O4:Eu3+ was synthesized by solid‐state method and their photoluminescence properties were investigated. The results show that the pure phase of CaB2O4 could be available at 900°C, CaB2O4:Eu3+ phosphor could be effectively excited by the near ultraviolet light (NUV) (392 nm), and the luminescent intensity of CaB2O4:Eu3+ phosphor reached to the highest when the doped‐Eu3+ content was 4 mol%. The emission spectra of CaB2O4:Eu3+ phosphor could exhibit red emission at 612 nm and orange emission at 588 nm, which are ascribed to the 5D07F2 and 5D07F1 transitions of Eu3+ ions. Red‐emitting Li2Sr1‐3x/2EuxSiO4 0≤x≤0.5) phosphors were synthesized at 900°C in air by a solid‐state reaction. The synthesized phosphors were characterized by X‐ray powder diffraction, photoluminescence (PL) excitation (PLE) and PL spectra. The results from the PLE spectra suggest that the strong 394 nm excitation peak associated with the 5L6 state of Eu3+ ions is of significance for near ultraviolet pumped white light‐emitting diodes and solid‐state lighting. It is also noted that the position of the charge transfer state of Eu3+ ions shifts towards the higher energy side (blue shift) by increasing the content of Eu3+ ions. The predominant emissions of Eu3+ ions under 394 nm excitation are observed at 580, 593, 614, 656 and 708 nm, which are attributed to the 5D07FJ (J = 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4), respectively. The PL results reveal that the optimal content of the red‐emitting Li2Sr1‐3x/2EuxSiO4 phosphors is x = 0.475. Simulation of the white light excited by 394 nm near ultraviolet light has also been carried out for its potential white light‐emitting diode applications. Europium (Eu3+) and bismuth (Bi3+) co‐activated LiBaBO3 powder phosphors were synthesized by a solid‐state reaction and the structure, particle morphology, optical and photoluminescent properties were investigated. X‐Ray diffraction patterns of the LiBaBO3 phosphors crystallized in a pure monoclinic phase, i.e. there were no secondary phases due to either incidental impurities or undecomposed starting materials. Scanning electron microscopy images showed that the powders were made up of fluffy needle‐like particles that were randomly aligned. The band‐gap of the LiBaBO3 host was estimated to be 3.33 eV from the UV/vis absorption data. Blue emission was observed from the LiBaBO3 host, which is ascribed to self‐activation of the host matrix. In addition, greenish‐blue (493 nm) and red (613 nm) emissions were observed from europium‐doped samples and were attributed to the emissions of Eu2+ and Eu3+, respectively. Furthermore, after codoping with Bi3+, the emission intensity of Eu3+ located at 613 nm was significantly enhanced. From the Commission Internationale de I′Eclairage (CIE) color coordinates, white emission was observed from LiBa1–xBO3:xEu3+ (x = 0.020 and 0.025) phosphor powders with color coordinates of x = 0.368, y = 0.378 and x = 0.376, y = 0.366, respectively.  相似文献

The present paper reports the impulsive excitation of mechanoluminescence (ML) in Sr0.97Al2O4:Eu0.01,Dy0.02 nanophosphors prepared using a combustion technique. The phosphors are characterized using X‐ray powder diffraction (XRD), high‐resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and photoluminescence (PL). The XRD results show that the samples exhibit a monoclinic α‐phase in the crystal structure. The space group of SrAl2O4:Eu,Dy nanophosphors is monoclinic P21. The PL and ML spectra of SrAl2O4:Eu,Dy nanophosphors are excited using light with a wavelength of 365 nm and emission is found at 516 nm. The prepared nanophosphors exhibits an intense ML that can be seen in daylight with the naked eye. When a sample powder is deformed impulsively by the impact of a moving piston, the ML intensity initially increases linearly with time, attains a peak value, Im, at time tm, and then decreases with time. The peak ML intensity, Im, and total ML intensity, IT, increase linearly with applied pressure and impact velocity. The ML intensity decreases with successive impacts of load onto the phosphors, and the diminished ML intensity can be approximately recovered by UV irradiation. The activation energy using thermoluminescence is found to be 0.57 eV for SrAl2O4:Eu,Dy nanophosphors. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+ and Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ long afterglow phosphors were synthesized under a weak reducing atmosphere by the traditional high temperature solid state reaction method. The synthesized phosphors were characterized by powder X‐ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy (EDX), and photo‐, thermo‐ and mechanoluminescence spectroscopic techniques. The phase structure of the sintered phosphor was an akermanite type structure, which belongs to tetragonal crystallography. The thermoluminescence properties of these phosphors were investigated and compared. Under ultraviolet light excitation, the emission spectra of both prepared phosphors were composed of a broad emission band peaking at 470 nm. When the Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+ phosphor was co‐doped with Dy3+, the photoluminescence (PL), afterglow and mechanoluminescence (ML) intensity were strongly enhanced. The decay graph indicated that both the sintered phosphors contained fast decay and slow decay processes. The ML intensities of Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+ and Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ phosphors were increased proportionally with increasing impact velocity, a finding that suggests that these phosphors could be used as sensors to detect the stress of an object. A series of color‐tunable Ca3–2x‐y‐zSiO4Cl2 (CSC):xCe3+,xLi+,yMn2+,zEu2+ phosphors with low temperature phase structure was synthesized via the sol–gel method. An energy transfer process from Ce3+ to Mn2+ in CSC:0.01Ce3+,0.01Li+,yMn2+ (y = 0.03–0.09) and the mechanism was verified to be an electric dipole–dipole interaction. The Ce3+ and Mn2+ emission intensities were greatly enhanced by co‐doping Eu2+ ions into CSC:0.01Ce3+,0.01Li+,0.07Mn2+ phosphors due to competitive energy transfers from Eu2+/Ce3+ to Mn2+, and Ce3+ to Eu2+. Under 332 nm excitation, CSC:0.01Ce3+,0.01Li+,0.07Mn2+,zEu2+ (z = 0.0005–0.002) exhibited tunable emission colors from green to white with coexisting orange, green and violet‐blue emissions. These phosphors could have potential application in white light‐emitting diodes.  相似文献
