New species of Hatschekia Poche, 1902 (Copepoda: Hatschekiidae) parasitic on marine fishes of Kuwait
Three new species of Hatschekia are described from the gill filaments of fishes taken in the Persian Gulf: H. seyi n. sp. from Heniochus acuminatus (Linnaeus), H. nodosa n. sp. from Lutjanus coccineus (Cuvier) and H. tanysoma n. sp. from L. fulviflamma (Forsskål). H. seyi differs from its congeners in having the cephalothorax longer than the trunk; H. nodosa, in having multiple nodules on the posterolateral margins of the trunk; and H. tanysoma, in having the trunk more than six times the length of cephalothorax and some pinnate setae on legs 1 and 2. 相似文献

Boxfishes (superfamily Ostracioidea, order Tetraodontiformes) are comprised of 37 species within the families Aracanidae (13 sp.) and Ostracidae (24 sp.). These species are characterized by several dramatic reductive trends in their axial and appendicular skeleton, and by the presence of a carapace formed by enlarged and thickened scale plates. While strong support exists for the monophyly of both families, interspecific relationships remain unclear as no species-level molecular phylogeny currently exists for either of these two clades, and the only hypotheses of relationships are based on morphological studies that were mostly restricted to generic-level relationships. Here we present the results of a new phylogenetic study of a dataset composed of 9 loci for 26 species of boxfishes using both likelihood and Bayesian methods. Our topology strongly supports the monophyly of both groups, and additionally provides strongly supported resolution for the vast majority of species-level interrelationships. Based on this new phylogeny, we suggest changing the taxonomic status of the species Lactoria fornasini to Tetrasomus fornasini, and Rhynchostracion nasus to Ostracion nasus. Using a Bayesian approach to divergence time estimation we inferred a Paleocene origin of the Ostracioidea, with an estimated origin of the reef-associated ostraciids spanning the Eocene and Oligocene, and a Miocene/Pliocene origin of the aracanids. 相似文献

Three new species of the copepod genus Hatschekia Poche, 1902, H. lima n. sp., H. cylindrus n. sp. and H. sunaoi n. sp., are described from the gill filaments of a triggerfish, Abalistes filamentosus Matsuura & Yoshino, caught off the Ryukyu Islands, Okinawa, Japan. These new species share an unusual morphological character,
i.e. four stout posterior spines on the intercoxal sclerites of legs 1 and 2. H. lima n. sp. differs from its congeners in having a robust inner lobe on the maxillule and leg 3 with a swollen basal lobe. H. cylindrus n. sp. is distinguishable from its congeners by having a cephalothorax fused to the trunk and a double-semicircular chitinous
frame. H. sunaoi n. sp. is characterised by leg 3 with a swollen basal lobe and an oval cephalothorax. 相似文献

Hatschekia khahajya n. sp. is described from the gill filaments of two monacanthid fishes, Cantherhines dumerilii (Hollard) and Amanses scopes (Cuvier), caught off Okinawa, Japan. The new species can be distinguished from its congeners by the possession of the following
combination of characters: cephalothorax length/trunk length ratio greater than 0.40; cephalothorax with a pair of lateral
bars on the chitinous ring and a posterior pair of surface ridges; trunk with a bifurcate chitinous frame extending over its
anterior third and with well-developed posterior lobes that extend beyond the abdomen; and four processes plus two spinular
rows on the distal margin of the intercoxal sclerite of legs 1 and 2. 相似文献

A new species of Acontiophorus belonging to the family Asterocheridae was found in Ushuaia, Patagonia, southern Argentina. The new species is distinctive in having 9-segmented antennule, five setae on terminal endopodal segment of leg 1, seven elements on terminal segment of leg 1 and leg 4 exopods, and characteristic setation on maxillule lobes. This combination of characteristic features does not occur in any other species of the genus. The genus Acontiophorus is recorded for the first time from the South Atlantic. 相似文献

Some groups of fish, such as those belonging to the Order Tetraodontiformes, may differ significantly in the amount and location of heterochromatin in the chromosomes. There is a marked variation in DNA content of more than seven-fold among the families of this Order. However, the karyoevolutionary mechanisms responsible for this variation are essentially unknown. The largest genomic contents are present in species of the family Ostraciidae (2.20–2.60 pg). The present study cytogenetically characterized two species of the family Ostraciidae, Acanthostracion polygonius and A. quadricornis, using conventional staining, C-bandings, Ag-NOR, CMA3/DAPI, AluI, PstI, EcoRI, TaqI and HinfI restriction enzymes (REs) and double FISH with 18S and 5S rDNA probes. The karyotypes of both species showed 2n = 52 acrocentric chromosomes (FN = 52; chromosome arms) and pronounced conserved structural characteristics. A significant heterochromatic content was observed equilocally distributed in pericentromeric position in all the chromosome pairs. This condition is unusual in relation to the karyotypes of other families of Tetraodontiformes and probability is the cause of the higher DNA content in Ostraciidae. Given the role played by repetitive sequences in the genomic reorganization of this Order, it is suggested that the conspicuous heterochromatic blocks, present in the same chromosomal position and with apparently similar composition, may have arisen or undergo evolutionary changes in concert providing clues about the chromosomal mechanisms which led to extensive variation in genomic content of different Tetraodontiformes families. 相似文献

Two new species of parasitic Copepoda (Crustacea) are described and illustrated. Paeon australis n. sp. (Sphyriidae) is the first member of its genus discovered in Australian waters. It is parasitic on Rhinobates batillum, an elasmobranch fish. The other species, Lateracanthus curtus n. sp., is a parasite of an unspecified Macrourus, a deep-water teleost, taken in the northwestern Atlantic. The systematics of the genus Lateracanthus are discussed. Lateracanthus macrurus is relegated to the status of a species inquirenda. 相似文献

Two new artotrogids are recorded from Madeira Island. A new species of Cryptopontius, associated with algae, differs from its congeners in the number of antennular segments, setation of the antennal exopod, setation and length of the maxillule lobes, and setation of both rami of the first and fourth legs. The second new artotrogid belongs to Dyspontius. It was associated with Gerardia savagliae Lacaze-Duthiers, 1864 (Cnidaria: Zoanthidea) and differs from its congeners in cephalothorax shape, siphon length and setation of the maxillule lobes. 相似文献

Sagum posteli Delamare-Deboutteville & Nunes-Ruivo, 1954 (Copepoda: Lernanthropidae) is reported from the white grouper Epinephelus aeneus Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire caught off the Turkish Mediterranean coast. This documents the first discovery of this species in
the Mediterranean and is only the second record. The species is redescribed from adult females and the cephalothoracic limbs are described for the first time. The valid species
of the genus Sagum Wilson, 1913 are reviewed, and the poorly described species S. poeyi Ortiz, Lalana & Suarez, 2003 is relegated as a junior synonym of S. texanum Pearse, 1952, described from the same host. A key is provided to females of the ten valid species of Sagum and the known hosts for all species are summarised. 相似文献

Summary A new pennellid genus,Exopenna, is established on the basis of two specimens of a new species,E. crimmeni, recovered from a deep-sea cod,Antimora, caught in the North East Atlantic. It is ectoparasitic and is diagnosed by the combination of a straight body, tightly coiled egg sacs and flattened, plate-like antennary processes. Another new species,Peniculus elongatus, is described from Australian waters and new records ofP. fistula andLernaeenicus ramosus further increase the known pennellid fauna of that region. A preliminary analysis of the phylogenetic relationships of the pennellid genera is undertaken and a partially resolved cladogram produced which identifies the main generic groupings. ac]19850522 相似文献
