Apostome ciliates from crayfish and freshwater shrimp in southern and central Alabama were surveyed in this study. Hyalophysa bradburyae was found on both crayfish and shrimp from 16 sites in eight drainages. A new species, Hyalophysa clampi n. sp., was found infesting crayfish at one site and simultaneously infesting crayfish with H. bradburyae at two sites. Characteristics of the trophont ciliature of H. clampi n. sp. separate it from other species in the genus. Particularly, the contractile vacuole pore is oriented posterior to the ventral kineties xyz, kineties 1 and 2 are undivided, an apparent second contractile vacuole pore is present between the ventral portions of kineties 1 and 2, the anterior ventral field is tightly arranged, and there is an apical field of kineties between kineties 4 through 6. This report expands the known range and diversity of the genus Hyalophysa in the state of Alabama.  相似文献

The genus Typhlodromus in Sudan includes five species. Of these, three new species are described and illustrated in this work. Individuals of T. sudanicus Elbadry and T. medanicus Elbadry have been found to play an important role in feeding on phytophagous mites and white fly nymphs infesting cotton crop.
Typhlodromus niloticus sp. n. and T. balanites sp. n. from fruit trees feed on tetranychid and eriophyid mites. T. sennarensis sp. n. has been collected from wild plants.
A key is provided for the identification of members of the genus Typhlodromus in Sudan.  相似文献

Abstract. A new subfamily of braconid wasps, the Mendesellinae, is proposed and described. It is represented by two genera and nine species, all newly described: Mendesella gen.n., type species M.amazonica sp.n., M.braziliensls , sp.n., M.magna sp.n., Epsilogaster gen.n., type species E.bicolor sp.n., E.brazMensis sp.n., E.dureno sp.n., E.palenque sp.n., E.tico sp.n. and E.panama sp.n. The phylogenetic relationships among the subfamilies of the 'microgastroid assemblage' of Braconidae are reviewed and analysed, to clarify the status and relationships of the new subfamily.  相似文献

The subgenus Neosynaptops Voss of Euops Schoenherr is revised. It contains two previously described species, E. cupreosplendens Macleay and E. viridiceps Voss, plus seven new ones: E. doertheae sp. n., E. gladiator sp. n., E. paraviridiceps sp. n., E. punctaticeps sp. n., E. similis sp. n., E. waigeoensis sp. n. and E. wapogae sp. n. A lectotype is designated for E. viridiceps Voss. The species are described and the characters relevant for their identification, especially the male genitalia, are illustrated. A key to the species is provided. Three distinct types of proventriculi found in species of Neosynaptops are illustrated. A cladistic analysis is performed which confirms the monophyly of Neosynaptops . The most important apomorphies are the punctate-rugose sculpture of the gena and the longitudinal costae on the ventral surface of the rostral base. The group is restricted to New Guinea and some small neighbouring islands.  相似文献

Abstract.  The South American grasshopper genus Eurotettix (Melanoplinae, Dichroplini) from north-eastern Argentina, southern Brazil and eastern Paraguay is revised. Cladistic analysis of the morphological and karyotypic characters indicates that the monophyly of Eurotettix is supported only weakly. Thus, Eurotettix is divided into two genera, and Dichromatos gen.n. is described for Eurotettix corupa Carbonell & Mesa, E. lilloanus Liebermann (type species), E. montanus Carbonell & Mesa and E. schrottkyi Rehn. Twelve species are recognized for Eurotettix with six described as new: E. concavus sp.n. , E. latus sp.n. , E. procerus sp.n. , E. brevicerci sp.n. , E. similraphael sp.n. and E. bugresensis sp.n. Keys to the species of the genera and a review of defining morphological characters are provided.  相似文献

Allorhogas pyralophagus Marsh is a recently discovered doryctine braconid with potential for field trials against stalk borers infesting both large- and small- stemmed Graminacea. This external gregarious parasite was originally reared fromEoreuma loftini (Dyar) larvae infesting Johnson grass [Sorghum halepense (L.) Pers.] and sugar cane (Saccharum officinarum L.) from the states of Sinaloa and Nuevo Leon, Mexico. The parasite is easily reared in the laboratory using a wide range of host larvae [Diatraea spp.,E. loftini, Chilo sp. andTryporyza nivelli (F)]. Hosts are placed in grass stems or paper straws for exposure to ovipositing females.A. pyralophagus has been field released and recovered from the following hosts infesting sugar cane:E. loftini andD. saccharalis (F.) in Texas.Diatraea spp. in Trinidad,D. rufescens in Bolivia andT. nivella in Sumatra, Indonesia. Approved as Contribution No. TA-20743 of the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station.  相似文献

A new microsporidium is reported infesting the enterocytes of a Haitian patients with AIDS. The stages observed were diplokaryotic cells, sporogonial plasmodia, unikaryotic sporoblasts, and spores. Neither a sporophorous vesicle (pansporoblastic membrane) nor parasitophorous vacuole were differentiated around the developmental stages, which were in direct contact with the host cell cytoplasm. The polar tube (5-6 coils) was differentiated before fission of the sporogonial plasmodium. The mature spores measured 1.5 micron X 0.5 micron. The spore wall was very thin as the endospore was absent or poorly differentiated. The organism is named Enterocytozoon bieneusi n. g., n. sp. and is assigned to the suborder Apansporoblastina.  相似文献

Abstract. Eurysphindus LeConte is revised and redescribed, Genisphindus gen.n. is described and a key to the species is given for each. Four new species of Eurysphindus are described: E.comatulus sp.n., E.grandiclaviger sp.n., E.halli sp.n. and E.infuscus sp.n. Eurysphindus brasiliensis Sen Gupta & Crowson, Eurysphindus plaumanni Sen Gupta & Crowson and Eurysphindus hirtus LeConte are redescribed. Four species of Genisphindus are described: G.latisternus sp.n., G.minor sp.n., G.rotundus sp.n. and G.roxanneae sp.n. Eurysphindus laevicollis Sen Gupta & Crowson is reassigned to Genisphindus. A tentative hypothesis of the phylogenetic relationships of sphindid genera is presented based on a cladistic analysis. A classification derived from the phylogenetic hypothesis is proposed and compared with that of Sen Gupta & Crowson (1977). A generic key to adult Sphindidae is provided. Known distributions for the genera of sphindids are considered in light of the phylogenetic hypothesis and various interpretations are proposed.  相似文献

Abstract.  The Afrotropical Empidini are reviewed from a phylogenetic point of view. Seven monophyletic groups are recognized within the tribe, namely Empis ( Coptophlebia ) bivittata , E. ( C ) chrysocera , E. ( C ) hyalea , E. ( C ) namwamba , E. ( C ) poecilosoma , E. ( Disneyempis ) and E. setitarsus . Their monophyly is assessed by comparison with the remaining Empidini. The E. setitarsus -group is cladistically analysed to study the evolution of the length of vein M1 by optimization on the cladogram, and the status of subgenus Coptophlebia Bezzi is discussed. A key to the seven Afrotropical species-groups of Empidini is provided, genus Rhamphomyia is no longer recognized for the Afrotropical Region, and four new species belonging to the E. setitarsus -group, namely E. cinerarius sp.n., E. pseudosetitarsus sp.n., E. spinosa sp.n and E. spungaberaensis sp.n., are described and included in a key to all known species of this group.  相似文献
