Summary

Over the past few decades, many records of the parasitoids parasitizing Coccinellidae have been reported from Iran. Some of them, presented in hard to access conference proceedings, theses, older books and journal articles, were then inaccurately quoted in other papers. Furthermore, some other records were subsequently considered misidentifications and the corrected identity of the parasitoids was proposed in later published papers. Due to the accumulation of that misleading information, we decided to gather and critically evaluate all available Iranian data on the parasitoids of Coccinellidae. To the review presented here we also added new data on the parasitism of Coccinella septempunctata L. by a braconid Dinocampus coccinellae (Schrank) in the Lorestan province and on the parasitism of Hyperaspis pseudopustulata Mulsant by an encyrtid Homalotylus flaminius (Dalman) in the Kermanshah province. Hyperaspis pseudopustulata is a new host for H. flaminius, and is also a species new to the fauna of Iran. Altogether, our review revealed one species of dipteran and 16 species of hymenopteran parasitoids associated with Coccinellidae in Iran. The identity of some of those species, however, seems uncertain and should be re-examined.  相似文献

IntroductionThe International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) organized the 3rd international conference on radiation protection (RP) of patients in December 2017. This paper presents the conclusions on the interventional procedures (IP) session.Material and methodsThe IAEA conference was conducted as a series of plenary sessions followed by various thematic sessions. “Radiation protection of patients and staff in interventional procedures” session keynote speakers presented information on: 1) Risk management of skin injuries, 2) Occupational radiation risks and 3) RP for paediatric patients. Then, a summary of the session-related papers was presented by a rapporteur, followed by an open question-and-answer discussion.ResultsSixty-seven percent (67%) of papers came from Europe. Forty-four percent (44%) were patient studies, 44% were occupational and 12% were combined studies. Occupational studies were mostly on eye lens dosimetry. The rest were on scattered radiation measurements and dose tracking. The majority of patient studies related to patient exposure with only one study on paediatric patients. Automatic patient dose reporting is considered as a first step for dose optimization. Despite efforts, paediatric IP radiation dose data are still scarce. The keynote speakers outlined recent achievements but also challenges in the field. Forecasting technology, task-specific targeted education from educators familiar with the clinical situation, more accurate estimation of lens doses and improved identification of high-risk professional groups are some of the areas they focused on.ConclusionsManufacturers play an important role in making patients safer. Low dose technologies are still expensive and manufacturers should make these affordable in less resourced countries. Automatic patient dose reporting and real-time skin dose map are important for dose optimization. Clinical audit and better QA processes together with more studies on the impact of lens opacities in clinical practice and on paediatric patients are needed.  相似文献

【背景】全球气候变暖导致的冻土融化加速了微生物对土壤有机碳的降解,产生的温室气体在一定程度上加剧了温室效应,对全球气候变化形成正反馈作用。【目的】本文针对国内外冻土微生物研究的热点和发展趋势进行分析比较,旨在归纳、总结并为今后该领域的研究和发展提供参考和依据。【方法】利用Web of Science核心合集数据库和CNKI数据库检索,运用BIBExcel软件生成高频关键词的共词矩阵,使用UCINET和NetDraw软件完成高频词的网络可视化图谱,并通过SPSS软件实现高频词的聚类分析。【结果】共检索到与冻土微生物相关的国内外文献839篇,其中国外文献713篇、中文文献126篇,国外的发文量和增长率显著高于国内。从高频关键词和共现网络视图上看,国外偏重气候变化、温室气体及微生物群落变化之间的作用关系研究,而国内更偏向于冻土微生物多样性的研究。聚类分析表明,国外研究主要以微生物对有机碳的降解作用及对冻土区乃至全球的影响为主,此外还涉及以冻土微生物为研究对象的火星生命的探究。国内研究主要以冻土微生物多样性、甲烷排放和微生物对污染的降解作用为重点。【结论】国内外对于冻土微生物的研究态势存在异同...  相似文献

【背景】近些年,越来越多的研究集中在红球菌上,很少有研究人员对现有文献进行全面回顾。【目的】为了探究国内外红球菌领域的研究热点、前沿和未来发展趋势,以便为后续研究人员提供全面直观的参考。【方法】对近10年发表在Web of Science的红球菌领域论文进行统计分析和文献计量分析。通过VOSviewer文献可视化软件绘制作者标签视图和关键词共现网络图。【结果】全球有关红球菌领域的发文量总体呈逐年上升趋势,发表期刊多为微生物学领域的专科期刊,中国和美国的文章发表数和引用数远超其他国家,红球菌的研究内容也主要集中在生物催化、生物降解和非核糖体肽合成酶等方面。【结论】红球菌在世界范围内越来越受到重视,并逐渐成为研究热点,国家和研究机构应继续加强合作,推动红球菌领域的继续发展。  相似文献

【背景】粪菌移植是近年医学领域研究的热点,不但能够治疗消化系统疾病,而且在神经及精神系统、心血管系统相关疾病的治疗中均有不错的疗效,有着广阔的应用前景。【目的】掌握国内外粪菌移植的研究现状、热点及发展趋势,为相关领域科研工作者的研究提供参考。【方法】基于Web of Science核心数据库,通过CiteSpace对2011-2021年的年度发文量、作者、国家、期刊、被引情况和关键词等进行可视化分析。【结果】筛选后共纳入4 905篇文献,目前全球粪菌移植研究的文献数量呈快速增长趋势;美国和中国是发文量最多的国家。中国学者的总发文量虽然位居世界第二,但中心度和篇均被引频次较低,说明受关注程度及学术影响力不足,在发文质量上还有待提高;Gastroenterology是国内外学者发文量最多的期刊,Frontiers in Microbiology是中国学者发文量最多的期刊;粪菌移植呈现出多学科交叉的发展特点;粪菌移植目前的研究热点主要与肠内疾病(炎症性肠病、艰难梭菌感染)和肠外疾病(如抑郁、冠状动脉粥样硬化等)有关;粪菌移植在未成年人中的应用、对胰岛素敏感度的影响、测序技术在肠道菌群的应用及...  相似文献

Le STUDIUM conference was held November 24–25, 2016 in Tours, France as a satellite workshop of the 5th meeting of the French GDR 3545 on “G Protein-Coupled Receptors (GPCRs) -From Physiology to Drugs,” which was held in Tours during November 22–24, 2016. The conference gathered speakers from academia and industry considered to be world leaders in the molecular pharmacology and signaling of GPCRs, with a particular interest in the development of therapeutic GPCR antibodies (Abs). The main topics were new advances and challenges in the development of antibodies targeting GPCRs and their potential applications to the study of the structure and function of GPCRs, as well as their implication in physiology and pathophysiology. The conference included 2 sessions, with the first dedicated to the recent advances in methodological strategies used for GPCR immunization using thermo-stabilized and purified GPCRs, and the development of various formats of Abs such as monoclonal IgG, single-chain variable fragments and nanobodies (Nbs) by in vitro and in silico approaches. The second session focused on GPCR Nbs as a “hot” field of research on GPCRs. This session started with discussion of the pioneering Nbs developed against GPCRs and their application to structural studies, then transitioned to talks on original ex vivo and in vivo studies on GPCR-selective Nbs showing promising therapeutic applications of Nbs in important physiologic systems, such as the central nervous and the immune systems, as well as in cancer. The conference ended with the consensus that Abs and especially Nbs are opening a new era of research on GPCR structure, pharmacology and pathophysiology.  相似文献

Background

Peer evaluation is the cornerstone of science evaluation. In this paper, we analyze whether or not a form of peer evaluation, the pre-publication selection of the best papers in Computer Science (CS) conferences, is better than random, when considering future citations received by the papers.

Methods

Considering 12 conferences (for several years), we collected the citation counts from Scopus for both the best papers and the non-best papers. For a different set of 17 conferences, we collected the data from Google Scholar. For each data set, we computed the proportion of cases whereby the best paper has more citations. We also compare this proportion for years before 2010 and after to evaluate if there is a propaganda effect. Finally, we count the proportion of best papers that are in the top 10% and 20% most cited for each conference instance.

Results

The probability that a best paper will receive more citations than a non best paper is 0.72 (95% CI = 0.66, 0.77) for the Scopus data, and 0.78 (95% CI = 0.74, 0.81) for the Scholar data. There are no significant changes in the probabilities for different years. Also, 51% of the best papers are among the top 10% most cited papers in each conference/year, and 64% of them are among the top 20% most cited.

Discussion

There is strong evidence that the selection of best papers in Computer Science conferences is better than a random selection, and that a significant number of the best papers are among the top cited papers in the conference.  相似文献

Purpose

Life cycle assessment (LCA) is a data-intensive methodology; therefore, experts usually focus collection efforts on a few activities, while generic data on remaining activities are taken from databases. Even though increased availability of databases has facilitated LCA takeoff, assuring data quality is fundamental to ensure meaningful results and reliable interpretation.

Methods

Ecoinvent has become a global reference for inventory data. Its current version released three impact partition modeling options—the recycled content, “allocation at the point of substitution” (APOS), and consequential models—whose adequate choice is crucial for yielding meaningful assessments. Tutorials and manuals describe the distribution algorithm that backs each system model, to ground decision-making regarding the best fit to a study’s goals. We performed a systematic literature review to investigate—within the papers published on the International Journal of LCA (IJLCA)—how transparently authors addressed the system model choices.

Results and discussion

About 70% of LCA practitioners continued to use earlier versions of ecoinvent after version 3 was launched in 2013. The number of papers using versions 3.x only showed an increased growth trend 2 years later. Eighty-three papers actually adopted the newest version of the database. From those, only 29 papers clearly mentioned the adopted system model. Our SLR also suggests a trend regarding authorship profile of LCA-related studies: the number of studies conducted by practitioners aware of the intricacies of sound modeling of background and foreground data might have been surpassed by those conducted by non-LCA specialists who use LCA as a supporting tool for investigations in applied fields, and merely scratch the surface.

Conclusions

Our results point to a need for a caveat: ecoinvent users must take time to understand the general concept behind each system model and practice one of the most important actions when performing an LCA—state methodological choices clearly.

The system composed of species of living organisms and their environment evolves under a stream of available energy from the sun. The differential survival of the components depends on the degree of success of each in securing its share of energy from this stream. This type of problem is familiar from the study of physicochemical systems in which the distribution and change in distribution of matter among specified components is examined in its relation to parameters of state. But whereas it is characteristic of physicochemical systems commonly considered that structure and mechanism play at most a subordinate role, in the study of organic evolution the structure and mechanical properties of the components, on which their aptitude for capturing energy depends, play the dominant role. ObjectivesTo develop a methodology for evaluating the impact of research on health care, and to characterise the papers cited on clinical guidelines.DesignThe bibliographic details of the papers cited in 15 clinical guidelines, developed in and for the United Kingdom, were collated and analysed with applied bibliometric techniques.ResultsThe median age of papers cited in clinical guidelines was eight years; most papers were published by authors living in either the United States (36%) or the United Kingdom (25%)—this is two and a half times more than expected as about 10% of all biomedical outputs are published in the United Kingdom; and clinical guidelines do not cite basic research papers.ConclusionAnalysis of the evidence base of clinical guidelines may be one way of tracking the flow of knowledge from the laboratory to the clinic. Moreover, such analysis provides a useful, clinically relevant method for evaluating research outcomes and different strategies in research and development.  相似文献

Abstract

Context: Bile duct cancer (BDC) is a disease with a very grave prognosis, often diagnosed too late.

Objective: The aim of this review is to evaluate available literature on tumor markers in serum from patients with BDC.

Methods: Using the search words “serum markers”, “bile duct cancer”, “cholangiocarcinoma”, “biomarker” and “tumor marker”, a search was carried out.

Results: Seventy-five studies were included in the review.

Conclusion: CA19-9 is by far the most studied and most promising diagnostic and/or prognostic marker in BDC. But also the different mucins are interesting as new markers of BDC in serum.  相似文献

Twelve papers in this series were derived from two conference sessions focusing on causality in field studies. Eight of these papers involve case studies examining biological effects of chemical contaminants in field situations. Using a weight-of-evidence approach, these case studies were evaluated against seven proposed criteria for establishing causality. The seven criteria were: strength of association; consistency of association; specificity of association; time order; biological gradient; experimental evidence; and biological plausibility. One of these seven criteria, ‘specificity of association’ was found to be of little utility for establishing causality in these field studies. The case studies are presented in approximate order of increasing levels of biological organization (i.e., going from endpoints at the suborganismal level to endpoints at the population or community level). In case studies examining higher levels of biological organization, it appears that the ‘biological gradient’ criterion was also not useful in establishing causality. These results, together with suggestions from other papers in the series, are used to recommend a set of modified criteria for establishing causality in field studies of the biological effects of chemical contaminants.  相似文献

Recently, we proposed a new model of DNA sequence evolution (Arquès and Michel. 1990b.Bull. math. Biol. 52, 741–772) according to which actual genes on the purine/pyrimidine (R/Y) alphabet (R=purine=adenine or guanine, Y=pyrimidine=cytosine or thymine) are the result of two successive evolutionary genetic processes: (i) a mixing (independent) process of non-random oligonucleotides (words of base length less than 10: YRY(N)6, YRYRYR and YRYYRY are so far identified; N=R or Y) leading to primitive genes (words of several hundreds of base length) and followed by (ii) a random mutation process, i.e. transformations of a base R (respectively Y) into the base Y (respectively R) at random sites in these primitive genes. Following this model the problem investigated here is the study of the variation of the 8 R/Y codon probabilities RRR,..., YYY under random mutations. Two analytical expressions solved here allow analysis of this variation in the classical evolutionary sense (from the past to the present, i.e. after random mutations), but also in the inverted evolutionary sense (from the present to the past, i.e. before random mutations). Different properties are also derived from these formulae. Finally, a few applications of these formulae are presented. They prove the proposition in Arquès and Michel (1990b.Bull. math. Biol. 52, 741–772), Section 3.3.2, with the existence of a miximal mean number of random mutations per base of the order 0.3 in the protein coding genes. They also confirm the mixing process of oligonucleotides by excluding the purine/pyrimidine contiguous and alternating tracts from the formation process of primitive genes.  相似文献

AimA systemic review and analysis of evolution journey of indices, such as conformity index (CI), homogeneity index (HI) and gradient index (GI), described in the literature.BackgroundModern radiotherapy techniques like VMAT, SRS and SBRT produce highly conformal plans and provide better critical structure and normal tissue sparing. These treatment techniques can generate a number of competitive plans for the same patients with different dose distributions. Therefore, indices like CI, HI and GI serve as complementary tools in addition to visual slice by slice isodose verification while plan evaluation. Reliability and accuracy of these indices have been tested in the past and found shortcomings and benefits when compared to one another.Material and methodsPotentially relevant studies published after 1993 were identified through a pubmed and web of science search using words “conformity index”, “Homogeneity index”, “Gradient index”,” Stereotactic radiosurgery”,” stereotactic Body radiotherapy” “complexity metrics” and “plan evaluation index”. Combinations of words “plan evaluation index conformity index” were also searched as were bibliographies of downloaded papers.Results and conclusionsMathematical definitions of plan evaluation indices modified with time. CI definitions presented by various authors tested at their own and could not be generalized. Those mathematical definitions of CI which take into account OAR sparing grant more confidence in plan evaluation. Gradient index emerged as a significant plan evaluation index in addition to CI whereas homogeneity index losing its credibility. Biological index base plan evaluation is becoming popular and may replace or alter the role of dosimetrical indices.  相似文献

IEEE 802.11b Ad Hoc Networks: Performance Measurements   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
In this paper we investigate the performance of IEEE 802.11b ad hoc networks by means of an experimental study. An extensive literature, based on simulation studies, there exists on the performance of IEEE 802.11 ad hoc networks. Our analysis reveals several aspects that are usually neglected in previous simulation studies. Firstly, since different transmission rates are used for control and data frames, different transmission ranges and carrier-sensing ranges may exist at the same time in the network. In addition, the transmission ranges are in practice much shorter than usually assumed in simulation analysis, not constant but highly variable (even in the same session) and depends on several factors. Finally, the results presented in this paper indicate that for correctly understanding the behavior of an 802.11b network operating in ad hoc mode, several different ranges must be considered. In addition to the transmission range, the physical carrier sensing range is very important. The transmission range is highly dependent on the data rate and is up to 100 m, while the physical carrier sensing range is almost independent from the data rate and is approximately 200 m. Furthermore, even though stations are outside from their respective physical carrier sensing range, they may still interfere if their distance is lower than 350 m.Giuseppe Anastasi received the Laurea degree in Electronics Engineering and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering both from the University of Pisa, Italy, in 1990 and 1995, respectively. She is currently working toward her Ph.D. degree at the IIT Institute of the Italian National Research Council (CNR). Her research interests are in the area of the wireless and mobile networks with particular attention to MAC protocols and routing algorithms for ad hoc networks.Marco Conti received the Laurea degree in Computer Science from the University of Pisa, Italy, in 1987. In 1987 he joined the Italian National Research Council (CNR). He is currently a senior researcher at CNR-IIT. His research interests include Internet architecture and protocols, wireless networks and ad hoc networking, mobile computing, and QoS in packet switching networks. He co-authored the book Metropolitan Area Networks (Springer, London, 1997), and published in journal and conference proceedings more than 100 research papers related to design, modeling, and performance evaluation of computer-network architectures and protocols. He served as the technical program committee chair of the IFIP-TC6 conferences Networking 2002 and PWC 2003, and technical program committee co-chair of ACM WoWMoM 2002. He is serving as technical program committee co-chair of the IEEE Symposium on a World of Wireless, Mobile and Multimedia Networks (WoWMoM 2005). He served as guest editor for the Cluster Computing Journal (special issue on Mobile Ad Hoc Networking), IEEE Transactions on Computers (special issue on Quality of Service issues in Internet Web Services), and ACM/Kluwer Mobile Networks & Applications Journal (special issue on Mobile Ad hoc Networks). He is member of IFIP WGs 6.2, 6.3 and 6.8.Enrico Gregori received the Laurea in electronic engineering from the University of Pisa in 1980. He joined CNUCE, an institute of the Italian National Research Council (CNR) in 1981. He is currently a CNR research director. In 1986 he held a visiting position in the IBM research center in Zurich working on network software engineering and on heterogeneous networking. He has contributed to several national and international projects on computer networking. He has authored more than 100 papers in the area of computer networks and has published in international journals and conference proceedings and is co-author of the book Metropolitan Area Networks (Springer, London, 1997). He was the General Chair of the IFIP TC6 conferences: Networking2002 and PWC2003 (Personal Wireless Communications). He served as guest editor for the Networking2002 journal special issues on: Performance Evaluation, Cluster Computing and ACM/Kluwer Wireless Networks Journals. He is a member of the board of directors of the Create-Net association, an association with several Universities and research centres that is fostering research on networking at European level. He is on the editorial board of the Cluster Computing, of the Computer Networks and of the Wireless Networks Journals. Abstract

Encysted larval horsehair worms (Phylum Nematomorpha) were recovered from the tissues of upland bullies (Gobiomorphus breviceps) and a galaxiid (Galaxias vulgaris) from the Seaward River, Canterbury. The cysts were mostly in the alimentary submucosa. A few occurred in the liver. An adult digenean fluke (Coitocaecum sp.), parasitic within the gut of a bully, also contained nematomorph larvae in its tissues. It is suggested that the fish became infected by eating nematomorph larvae or egg strings.  相似文献

Introduction: The mass spectrometry society of Japan, Japanese proteomics society, and Asia–Oceania human proteome organization held the conference ‘Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics 2018’ in Osaka, Japan, on May 15–18, 2018. This international conference focused on cutting edge technologies and their applications in a variety of research fields such as agriculture, material science, environmental factors, and clinical applications. An overview of the conference and a summary of the major lectures are reported here.

A new species of Veturius (Publius) Kaup, V. unanus n. sp., from a mountain cloud forest of Costa Rica, northwestern Sierra de Talamanca, Tapantí-Río Macho Massif, Province of Cartago, is described and illustrated. It is the first known Publius species with a blue-grey body color, matt elytra and shining or satiny elsewhere. The species is interpreted as sister species of V. (Publius) talamacaensis Boucher, 2006, from which it differs by a few characters. Both species are sympatric. V. unanus n. sp. is the northernmost endemic in the subgenus Publius.  相似文献
