用色素穿刺注入法、动脉内墨汁硝酸银水溶液注入法研究了家兔盲肠和阑尾淋巴管的起始、走向及所属淋巴结。盲肠和阑尾的毛细淋巴营均起始于固有膜,后依次穿过肠壁各层移行为系膜内淋巴管。后者经阑尾、盲肠淋巴结与肠系膜上淋巴结群中的相应淋巴结相联系。盲肠粘膜下层淋巴管内开始出现瓣膜;阑尾淋巴管瓣膜则在阑尾系膜缘内才出现。  相似文献

A spontaneous outbreak of yersiniosis caused by Yersinia pseudotuberculosis serotype IIB occurred in a small indoor breeding colony of red-bellied tamarins (Saguinus labiatus) during the winter of 1981. Of 35 monkeys at risk 6 died of an acute or subacute infection over a period of 23 days. Clinical signs were anorexia, weakness, listlessness and depression. The disease was characterized by focal necrosis of the liver, spleen, mesenteric lymph nodes, ulcerative enteritis, and the presence of colonies of Gram-negative bacilli in the lesions. Y. pseudotuberculosis was isolated from the liver, spleen, mesenteric lymph nodes and kidney but not from the blood, lung or intestine. Contaminated food was believed to be the source of infection.  相似文献

Ulcerative entero-colitis was developed in 6-week-old male Sprague-Dawley rats treated daily with ACTH (4 mg/kg. s. c.) as well as necrotic purulent lesions in liver, kidney, lung or heart. Incidence of ulcerative lesions was 6.3% in Farm-A rats and 56% in Farm-B rats. Although ulcerative lesions were mostly observed in cecum, the similar lesions were also detected in distal ileum or proximal colon in some cases. Histologically, the lesions were characterized by focal necrosis demarcated from surrounding normal tissue containing a number of clumps of bacteria and cellular debris. Bacteriological examination revealed that provocation of Coryne-bacterium kutscheri by ACTH-treatment resulted in appearance of the lesions. By means of intravenous or intraperitoneal inoculation with the strain isolated from lesion similar lesions were produced in the cecum of inoculated rats under the ACTH-treatment.  相似文献

Necropsy of a 15-month-old male orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus) showed multiple nodular elevations of the mucosa of the colon, petechial hemorrhages in both lungs, and mucosal ulcerations in the cecum, appendix, and proximal colon. Light microscopy revealed filariform larvae of Strongyloides in the lung, colon, and mesenteric lymph nodes. Rhabditiform larvae were also observed in sections of colon.  相似文献

Comparative studies on pathogenicity between Yersinia enterocolitica and Yersinia pseudotuberculosis were performed using experimental infection systems in vivo and in vitro. All of thestra ins of both species successfully produced experimental enterocolitis in rabbits although the severity varied with the strains challenged. The changes were characterized by granulomatous lesions with necrobiotic centers in reticuloendothelial tissues of the intestine, mesenteric lymph nodes, liver and spleen. These strains uniformly had the ability to penetrate HeLa cells and to survive or multiply within cultured rabbit peritoneal macrophages. In addition, in infections with strain TP-2 or PST-III of Y. pseudotuberculosis, catarrhal inflammation all over the small intestine and/or focal necrosis and parenchymatous degeneration in the liver were observed, along with the granulomatous lesions. These strains, at the same time, exhibited cytotoxic effects on the cultured cells. The pathogenic factors of Y. enterocolitica are discussed in comparison with those of Y. pseudotuberculosis.  相似文献

Precystic merogony of Sarcocystis sp. was studied in roe deer fawns 33, 45, and 49 days postinoculation (pi) with 2 X 10(4)-10(5) sporocysts recovered from dogs. Single merozoites, but no meronts, were found 33 days pi in liver, spleen, and lymph nodes. Transforming merozoites and meronts were found in myofibroblasts, satellite cells, and endothelial cells of muscle tissue on 45 and 49 days pi; they were surrounded by two membranes. Typical coccidian merozoites differentiated simultaneously around an enlarged, lobed nucleus.  相似文献

A group of eight (2.6) White-lipped deer (Cervus albirostris) and four (1.3) fawns, born in 2010, kept in Tierpark Berlin were observed with focal point at circadian behavioural pattern, mother-child-interaction and the ontogeny of behaviour.The circadian rhythm of the animals proved to be bimodal and in its activity periods clearly synchronized with daily routine in the zoo. The animals showed different types of behaviours concerning metabolism (47%), comfort and resting (25%), movement (11%) and other behaviour (17%). The parallels between the distribution of behaviour and spatial use during the day point to an obvious relevance of different shaped enclosure areas to the behaviour. Calves of White-lipped deer are considered to be typical hiders („Ablieger“). Initially the fawns entered the enclosure trough the fence four to five times a day, exclusively for suckling. Until the fourth week of life their distribution of behaviour and their daily rhythm were well-adjusted to that of the adults. Despite of an age difference up to 17 days, the hiding period of all four fawns ended more or less at the same point of time; in case of the oldest fawn after 6, in case of the youngest fawn already after 3½ weeks of life. This indicates a synchronisation of the ontogeny of behaviour between older fawns and younger ones living with each other. In the process of dietary change from milk to solid food this synchronization was also to be seen. During the first two weeks the fawns were almost exclusively in contact with their mothers, but with time the bonding between the four fawns got stronger. The young affect each other in their development of behaviour. Above-mentioned traits of weaning in mammals point to the onset of weaning in the observed animals at three to four weeks of live.All in all the behavioural development of White-lipped deer obviously depends on physiological needs and abilities as well as social environment.  相似文献

Microcirculation is the primary mechanism for delivering lymphocytes to inflammatory tissues. Blood flow within microvessels ensures a supply of lymphocytes at the blood-endothelial interface. Whether the structure of the inflammatory microcirculation facilitates lymphocyte transmigration is less clear. To illuminate the microcirculatory changes associated with lymphocyte transmigration, we used intravital videomicroscopy to examine the dermal microcirculation after application of the epicutaneous antigen oxazolone. Intravascular injection of fluorescein-labeled dextran demonstrated focal topographic changes in the microcirculation. These focal changes had the appearance of loops or hairpin turns in the oxazolone-stimulated skin. Changes were maximal at 96 h and coincided with peak lymphocyte recruitment. To determine whether these changes were associated with lymphocyte transmigration, lymphocytes obtained from efferent lymph of draining lymph nodes at 96 h were fluorescently labeled and reinjected into inflammatory microcirculation. Epifuorescence intravital video microscopy demonstrated focal areas were associated with lymphocyte slowing and occasional transmigration. In contrast, focal loops and lymphocyte slowing were rarely observed in the contralateral control microcirculation. Results suggest that structural adaptations in inflammatory microcirculation represented by focal topographic changes may contribute to regulation of tissue entry by recirculating lymphocytes.  相似文献

Bodyweight, breast girth and hind-foot length were compared in sika deer fawns (Cervus nippon Temminck) that were shot or had died naturally. The study site was Mount Goyo, in northern Japan. Samples were collected in January and February every year from 1982 to 1991 for the dead fawns and from 1990 to 1992 for the living fawns. The average bodyweight and the variation in bodyweight was significantly smaller in the dead fawns than in the living ones, suggesting a higher mortality rate in smaller fawns. The mean breast girth and hind-foot length were also significantly smaller in the dead fawns. Two possibilities are suggested: (i) the smaller fawns were born later than the larger fawns and grew at normal rates; or (ii) the smaller and larger fawns were born in a similar period but grew at different rates thereafter.  相似文献

Mice with 3-, 6-, 9- and 15-day Meth A tumors in the skin were injected intravenously with endotoxin to study age-dependent induction of tumor necrosis and reactive changes in draining lymph nodes. By 24 h after treatment with endotoxin, macroscopic necrosis was seen in 9-day, and to an even greater extent in 15-day tumors; microscopy showed extensive necrosis in 9-day tumors and some necrosis in 6-day tumors. The necrosis was predominantly coagulative, but the 9- and 15-day tumors showed a rim of hemorrhagic necrosis near the skin with surviving tumor tissue located at the lateral and basal margins. All the tumors showed about equal hyperemia by 4 h and mitotic arrest by 4 and 24 h. Depletion of mast cells, which were most numerous in the 9-day tumors, was seen on the dermal aspects by 24 h. Endotoxin did not change the morphology of the lymph nodes and disseminated tumor cells within 24 h. Endotoxin is known to cure 9-day Meth A tumors, and the extent of the rapid necrosis induced is clearly the crucial factor. Necrosis, however, is not a direct consequence of early hyperemia or mitotic arrest and other factors related to the age and site of the tumor, apparently affect whether or not necrosis ensues.  相似文献

Among adult females and males of African antelope impala are unique in their performance of reciprocal allogrooming. The occurrence of this behaviour in neonatal impala fawns was explored in a free-ranging impala herd at the San Diego Wild Animal Park where 5 dam-reared fawns were observed from birth through 10 weeks of age. One-way maternal grooming and reciprocal allogrooming with the dam and non dam partners emerged as distinct behavioural systems. Maternal grooming, directed mostly to the anogenital area, was typical of that seen in other ungulates, and sharply declined over the first two weeks. Reciprocal allogrooming, characterized by alternate exchanges of grooming bouts with a partner in the same manner as in adults, was seen as early as 3–8 d after birth. All fawns were grooming with unrelated adult females by the end of the second week. By week 2 virtually every measure of reciprocal allogrooming by fawns (grooming delivered per hour, reciprocity, and percent of encounters initiated) was as high as for adults. The appearance of this reciprocal allogrooming pattern, especially at such an early age, appears to be unique among ungulates, and possibly mammals in general. Three hand-reared impala fawns, deprived of the opportunity to interact with older herdmates, but having access to impala fawns and heterospecific fawns, were observed from 1–3 mo of age. The hand-reared impala showed no alteration in the occurrence of reciprocal allogrooming behaviour compared with the dam-reared control fawns, indicating that allogrooming experience with older animals was not required for the appearance of reciprocal allogrooming at an early age. Interestingly, hand-reared fawns persisted in grooming heterospecific fawns despite the fact that heterospecifics rarely reciprocated grooming. We postulate that the strong predisposition for impala young to groom others may be related to the threat of tick infestation in the impala's ecotone habitat.  相似文献

Two new species of Eimeria were observed in the feces of captive white-tailed deer fawns, Odocoileus virginianus, from Alabama. The first new species was easily recognized because of its small size. Sporulated oocysts are spherical, average 10.2 by 10.0 microm, and lack a micropyle and oocyst residuum. Oocysts contain a polar granule and elongate-ellipsoidal sporocysts that measure 6.7 by 3.1 microm. A Stieda body is present on the sporocysts. Oocysts were observed in the feces, and gamonts and oocysts were observed in the jejunum of a month-old fawn from Minnesota that died from enteritis due to this species. Oocysts of this small species were present in 5 of the 6 white-tailed deer fawns examined. Oocysts of a second new species are ellipsoidal and average 29.5 by 24.6 microm. The oocyst encloses an oocyst residuum, polar granule, and elongate-ellipsoidal sporocysts that average 16.0 by 9.0 microm. A Stieda body and substieda body are present on the sporocysts. Oocysts of the second new species were present in 4 of the 6 white-tailed deer fawns examined. Oocysts of E. ivensae are ovoid or flask-like and average 32.0 by 20.8 microm. The oocyst wall is rough, contains a micropyle, and encloses elongate-ellipsoidal sporocysts that average 16.5 by 7.8 microm. A Stieda body is present on the sporocysts. Oocysts of E. ivensae were present in 4 of the 6 white-tailed deer fawns. Oocysts of E. odocoilei are spherical or slightly subspherical and measure 24.7 by 21.5 microm. They enclose ovoid sporocysts that average 12.7 by 8.8 microm. A Stieda and substieda body are present on the sporocyst. Oocysts of E. odocoilei were present in 4 of the 6 white-tailed deer fawns.  相似文献

The contributions of inflammatory and immunosuppressive cytokines and noradrenalin to the control of lipolysis in adipocytes surrounding and remote from lymph nodes were investigated in healthy adult guinea-pigs. A few hours after excision from fasting animals, spontaneous lipolysis in adipocytes from around the popliteal and mesenteric lymph nodes and omental "milky spots" was significantly lower than in those from elsewhere in the same depots, and much lower than in perirenal, epididymal or parametrial adipocytes. The perinodal adipocytes were consistently more sensitive to noradrenalin at 10(-8), 10(-7)and 10(-5) M, and their maximum rate of lipolysis was higher. They also responded more strongly to pre-incubation for 24 h with tumour necrosis factor alpha interleukin 6 and interleukin 4 than those elsewhere in the same depots. Tumour necrosis factor alpha and interleukin 6 applied alone stimulated lipolysis, but combined with interleukin 4, they suppressed glycerol release, especially in perinodal adipocytes, thereby creating large within-depot differences. These cytokines had minimal effects on lipolysis in perirenal or gonadal adipocytes.The authors conclude that adipocytes surrounding lymph nodes contribute little to whole-body energy supply during fasting, but are more sensitive than all others to cytokines and to noradrenalin, having higher maximum but lower minimum rates of lipolysis. These properties equip perinodal adipocytes for local interactions with lymphoid tissue.  相似文献

Characteristic pathological lesions in Black Bengal goat abortions due to naturally occurring toxoplasmosis consist of focal inflammation of the placenta. No specific macroscopic changes were marked in other organs of the fetuses. The main microscopic changes were focal or diffuse infiltrations with round cells in the liver, brain and heart. These lesions were more common in the brain than in other organs. Toxoplasma organisms were demonstrated in these organs as single trophozoites or within the cyst. No characteristic gross or histological changes were demonstrated in lymph nodes, spleen, lung and kidney. These results could be useful for histopathological diagnosis of toxoplamosis in Black Bengal goats.  相似文献

Priming of T cells is a key event in vaccination, since it bears a decisive influence on the type and magnitude of the immune response. T-cell priming after mucosal immunization via the nasal route was studied by investigating the distribution of antigen-loaded antigen presenting cells (APCs) and primed antigen-specific T cells. Nasal immunization studies were conducted using the model protein antigen ovalbumin (OVA) plus CpG oligodeoxynucleotide adjuvant. Trafficking of antigen-specific primed T cells was analyzed in vivo after adoptive transfer of OVA-specific transgenic T cells in the presence or absence of fingolimod, a drug that causes lymphocytes sequestration within lymph nodes. Antigen-loaded APCs were observed in mediastinal lymph nodes, draining the respiratory tract, but not in distal lymph nodes. Antigen-specific proliferating T cells were first observed within draining lymph nodes, and later in distal iliac and mesenteric lymph nodes and in the spleen. The presence at distal sites was due to migration of locally primed T cells as shown by fingolimod treatment that caused a drastic reduction of proliferated T cells in non-draining lymph nodes and an accumulation of extensively divided T cells within draining lymph nodes. Homing of nasally primed T cells in distal iliac lymph nodes was CD62L-dependent, while entry into mesenteric lymph nodes depended on both CD62L and α4β7, as shown by in vivo antibody-mediated inhibition of T-cell trafficking. These data, elucidating the trafficking of antigen-specific primed T cells to non-draining peripheral and mucosa-associated lymph nodes following nasal immunization, provide relevant insights for the design of vaccination strategies based on mucosal priming.  相似文献

As lymphatic endothelial cells (LECs) express different lymphatic and vascular markers depending on the organ they are derived from, we analysed whether they also show a heterogeneity of response against pathogens. To this end we analysed, for the presence of mRNA encoding for all human toll-like receptor (TLR), LECs isolated from lymph nodes and thymuses. RNA for TLR1-6 and 9 was identified in thymus-derived cells, whereas cells derived from lymph nodes contained mRNA for TLR1-4, 6 and 9, but failed to express mRNA specific for TLR5. The differential expression of TLRs was confirmed by the phosphorylation of nuclear factor-κB p65 only when the two types of LECs were incubated with the appropriate TLR agonists. The stimulation with specific agonists gives rise to a heterogeneous pattern of cytokine and chemokine secretion: thymus-derived LECs produced preferentially interleukin-6, interferon-inducible protein (IP)-10 and tumour necrosis factor-α, whereas cells prepared from lymph nodes mainly released interleukin-8, monocyte chemotactic protein-1, RANTES and (IP)-10. Finally, cells purified from lymph nodes expressed a higher level of intercellular adhesion molecule-1 than did cells prepared from the thymus when stimulated with several TLR agonists. The expression of a large set of TLRs and the responsiveness to specific agonists suggest that LECs are able to respond to pathogens, and the observed differences reflect specialized functions, redundancy and/or roles of LECs of different origin.  相似文献

Herpes simplex virus was frequently isolated from ipsilateral popliteal lymph nodes after percutaneous inoculation of the dorsal face of the footpad, and from ipsi- and contralateral submandibular lymph nodes after percutaneous inoculation of the cheek or the orofacial area of mice. Virus was detected only on very rare occasion in nondraining lymph nodes (inguinal or axillary) or in contralateral popliteal lymph nodes, but was frequently isolated in contralateral lumbar lymph nodes after footpad inoculation. The presence of virus in lymph nodes paralleled or followed the invasion of ipsilateral sensory ganglia and was associated with dissemination of virus in contralateral sensory ganglia after unilateral inoculation. In older mice virus was detected only occasionally in lymph nodes and dissemination of virus in contralateral sensory ganglia was generally not observed. The results suggest that lymphatic spread may contribute to dissemination of virus in contralateral sensory ganglia after unilateral inoculation of mice.  相似文献

Antibody responses and changes in the lymphoreticular tissues of gerbils with experimental cecal amebiasis were studied from 5 to 60 days PI. Changes in the cecum consisted of lymphoid follicle hyperplasia and depletion of lymphocytes, followed by follicle atrophy and histiocytosis. Mesenteric lymphadenopathy, and histologic alterations in the lymph nodes paralleled the progressive development of amebic cecal lesions. Early in the infection (5 to 10 days PI) mesenteric lymph nodes showed cortical follicle hyperplasia, blastogenesis in the paracortical areas (PCA) and intense lymphoblast and plasma cell activity in the medullary cords. At 20 to 30 days PI, the cortical follicles, the PCA and the medulla were depleted of lymphocytes and there was histiocytosis throughout the organ. At 60 days PI, lymphocyte repopulation took place in the PCA, and cortical follicles had active germinal centers. Spleen follicles did not increase in number as the infection progressed, but became hyperplastic. Antibody titers to ameba were low throughout the cecal infection but rose whenever amebic metastasis to the liver occurred. The results of this study indicate that lymphocytes from the submucosal lymphoid follicles and the draining lymph nodes may control the pathogenesis of the infection. Lymphoreticular tissue alterations could result from antigenic stimulation and migration of cells to the sites of infection.  相似文献

Histological examination of lymph-node biopsy specimens in 12 patients with erythema nodosum leprosum showed almost complete replacement of the node by lepromatous granuloma, together with considerable polymorph infiltration. Ziehl-Neelsen staining demonstrated numerous Mycobacterium leprae present in the nodes. The majority of these patients were very ill, and responded to prednisolone or corticotrophin.It is suggested that the histological appearances may represent an intensive inflammatory response in the lymph nodes followed by avascular aseptic necrosis.  相似文献

Enzootic stability, potentially associated with acquired resistance and subsequent transfer of maternal antibodies, innate resistance, or both, has been hypothesized to explain the lack of reports of hemorrhagic disease (HD) in white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) from Texas. The objectives of this research were to determine the following: how long maternal antibodies to epizootic hemorrhagic disease (EHD) and bluetongue (BT) viruses persist; whether fawns from an enzootic site are naturally exposed to EHD and BT viruses while maternal antibodies are present; and whether field-challenged fawns develop clinical disease. Twelve of 52 fawns from Texas were moved to an indoor facility. All 12 (100%) were positive for maternal antibodies to EHD or BT viruses by agar gel immunodiffusion (AGID) and serum neutralization (SN) tests. Weekly monitoring demonstrated that precipitating antibodies disappeared by 23 wk of age and serum neutralizing antibodies disappeared by 17-18 wk of age. Fawns that remained outdoors in Texas were not observed with signs of HD. At 14-21 wk of age (October), 39 of 40 (98%) fawns that had remained outdoors were positive for EHD and/or BT virus antibodies by AGID and 32 (80%) had SN antibody titers to one or more of five viruses (EHDV-1, EHDV-2, BTV-10, BTV-11, BTV-17). Antibody titers to EHDV-1, EHDV-2, and BTV-11 all exceeded titers of same-age indoor fawns, suggesting recent exposure. Epizootic hemorrhagic disease viruses were isolated from seven (18%) of the outdoor fawns and all 40 remained clinically normal. Natural exposure of deer to EHD and BT viruses occurred at this site in the presence of maternal antibodies without causing disease. This may be due to acquired immunity and the subsequent transfer of maternal antibodies, but it does not exclude innate resistance as a possible factor in the enzootic stability of EHD and BT viruses at this location.  相似文献
