Concentrations of volatile fatty acids, free amino acids, ammonia, protein, carbohydrates, carboxylic acids and some cations were determined in feces of intact animals (rats) chromatographically and spectroscopically. Oral administration of 8 chemotherapeutic drugs in the therapeutic doses to the animals resulted in changing excretion of the majority of the above compounds associated with vital activity of the large intestine microflora which depended on the drug type. Investigation of metabolic activity of normal microflora of the gastrointestinal tract is shown promising for estimation of intestinal microbial biocenosis.  相似文献

The end products of the metabolism of phenylalanine, tyrosine and tryptophan by growing cultures of clostridia have been identified. The species used were Clostridium aminovalericum; C. bifermentans; C. botulinum proteolytic type A; C. botulinum proteolytic type B; C. cochlearium; C. difficile; C. ghoni; C. histolyticum; C. lentoputrescens; C. limosum; C. lituseburense; C. malenomenatum; C. mangenoti; C. propionicum; C. putrefaciens; C. sordellii; C. sporogenes; C. sporosphaeroides; C. sticklandii; C. subterminale; C. tetani; C. tetanomorphum. The mixture of aromatic compounds formed, which depended upon the species, included phenyl acetic acid, phenyl propionic acid, phenyl lactic acid, phenol, p-cresol, p-hydroxy phenyl acetic acid, p-hydroxy phenyl propionic acid, indole, indole acetic acid and indole propionic acid.Abbreviation GLC gas liquid chromatography  相似文献

Anaerobic microbial associations have been isolated that degrade aromatic amino acids to methane and carbon dioxide at high rates. Significant differences between the morphological, cytological, and physiological traits of cultures isolated from samples of adapted and unadapted sludge are shown. The effects of cultivation temperature, illumination, and presence of mineral nitrogen and bicarbonate in the medium upon adaptation of enrichment cultures to substrates and subsequent behavior of the anaerobic associations have been studied. Intermediate and final products of degradation of aminoaromatic compounds and the sequence of their formation in the cultures have been determined. We have also studied the effects of exogenous electron acceptors and additional carbon sources on the degradation of aminoaromatic compounds.  相似文献

The non-protein amino acids, -alanine and -aminobutyric acid, frequently dominate the amino acid composition of deep-sea sediments. This accumulation is most likely due to the slower decomposition of non-protein amino acids by microorganisms or to the preferential adsorption of non-protein amino acids by clay minerals. We investigated relative rates of heterotrophic uptake of alanine, -ala, and -aba in sea water to see if there were different rates of microbial assimilation and respiration between these protein and non-protein amino acids. Heterotrophic uptake was rapid for all three amino acids with turnover times of hours in productive coastal waters and days in more oligotrophic open-ocean waters. Uptake of the non-protein amino acids was significantly slower than uptake of alanine, particularly in anoxic waters. However, the difference in uptake rates is probably not great enough to cause significant preferential accumulation of non-protein amino acids.  相似文献

The regulatory properties of chorismate mutase, its cellular localization and isoenzyme pattern were investigated in 23 yeast species. All yeasts contained only a single form of the enzyme, which is localized exclusively in the cytosol. The enzyme activity from all sources was activated 3-(Rhodotorula aurantiaca) to 185-fold (Candida maltosa) by tryptophan. The tryphtophan concentration, which was necessary to obtain half maximum velocity was determined to be between 2 (Pichia guilliermondii) and 95 M (Yarrowia lipolytica). Ten yeast species possessed an enzyme that was inhibited by both phenylalanine and tyrosine. The chorismate mutase from four strains was inhibited only by tyrosine and the enzyme from two species was inhibited by phenylalanine alone. The enzyme inhibition by phenylalanine and tyrosine was completely reversed by tryptophan. Six enzyme sources were not inhibited and theY. lipolytica chorismate mutase was slightly activated by both amino acids.  相似文献

The influence of a mixture of amino acids, with a branched chain, on the protein-nitrogen metabolism in irradiated animals was investigated. Repeated intraperitoneal administrations of the drug was shown to reduce the severity of radiation affection and to normalize nitrogen metabolism decreasing the postirradiation nitrogen losses by the organism.  相似文献

Tracer experiments with 14C-labelled precursors in Iris × hollandica cv. Wedgwood, Roseda lutea L. and Reseda Odorata L. have demonstrated that 3-(3-carboxyphenyl)alanine and 3-(3-carboxy-4-hydroxyphenyl)alanine can be derived from the corresponding pyruvic acids, presumably by unspecific trans-aminations, and that (3-carboxyphenyl)glycine and (3-carboxy-4-hydroxy-phenyl)glycine can be derived from the corresponding phenylglyoxylic acids The glycine derivatives are derived from the alanine derivatives, and the corresponding mandelic acids are intermediates in these transformations. The corresponding phenylacetic acids are incorporated only slightly into the glycine derivatives, indicating that oxidation at the benzylic position in the C6–C3 compounds takes place early in the transformation. The corresponding cinnamics acids are not metabolized at all in the plants.  相似文献

  • 1.1. The effects of a high-fat, high-energy diet and essential plus semi-essential amino acid gavage on pup rats have been studied (60–65 animals).
  • 2.2. The activities of alanine transaminase, adenylate deaminase, glutamine synthetase and serine dehydratase have been tested in liver and muscle.
  • 3.3. Plasma was used for the estimation of proteins, urea, amino acids, glucose, lactate, 3-hydroxy-butyrate and acetoacetate.
  • 4.4. Liver and muscle glutamine synthetase activities are increased by diet and gavage administered. Hepatic serine dehydratase is inhibited by a cafeteria diet but activated by amino acid gavage. Adenylate deaminase is inhibited by diet and gavage in the liver, but gavage does not affect this enzyme activity in muscle. Liver alanine transaminase is increased by the diet; in the muscle, cafeteria diet and amino acid gavage showed the highest values for this enzyme.
  • 5.5. In the plasma, the increase in lactate produced by the diet is inhibited by the amino acids provided. Cafeteria-fed pups showed lower urea levels and higher 3-hydroxybutyrate concentrations in the plasma.
  • 6.6. Intracellular glucose is diminished by cafeteria diet. In contrast, the blood cell amino acid concentration increases with diet and gavage supplied.
