A new amperometric biosensor, based on adsorption of glucose oxidase (GOD) at the platinum nanoparticle-modified carbon nanotube (CNT) electrode, is presented in this article. CNTs were grown directly on the graphite substrate. The resulting GOD/Pt/CNT electrode was covered by a thin layer of Nafion to avoid the loss of GOD in determination and to improve the anti-interferent ability. The morphologies and electrochemical performance of the CNT, Pt/CNT, and Nafion/GOD/Pt/CNT electrodes have been investigated by scanning electron microscopy, cyclic voltammetry, and amperometric methods. The excellent electrocatalytic activity and special three-dimensional structure of the enzyme electrode result in good characteristics such as a large determination range (0.1-13.5mM), a short response time (within 5s), a large current density (1.176 mA cm(-2)), and high sensitivity (91mA M(-1)cm(-2)) and stability (73.5% remains after 22 days). In addition, effects of pH value, applied potential, electrode construction, and electroactive interferents on the amperometric response of the sensor were investigated and discussed. The reproducibility and applicability to whole blood analysis of the enzyme electrode were also evaluated.  相似文献

In this study, the electrochemical activity of ordered mesoporous carbon (OMC) was investigated and applied to the determination of glutathione (GSH) and cysteine (CySH). It has been demonstrated that the ordered mesostructure of OMC has an important role in the electrocatalytic activity towards thiols, and the destruction of this structure results in the decrease of such properties. The electrochemical behavior of GSH at an OMC electrode was also investigated. The results showed that the process of oxidation of GSH at the OMC electrode is differs from that of CySH at the same electrode by the peak at 0.47 V associated with CySH. This difference helped to reduce the interference of GSH during the determination of CySH in the presence of GSH. A sensor for the two thiols was developed with acceptable sensitivity and detection limits in a large determination range. These results obtained in the physiological medium and in the physiological levels of GSH and CySH, suggest that OMC is a promising material in the detection of thiols in biologically relevant experimental conditions (in terms of pH).  相似文献

A novel DNAzyme-functionalized Pt nanoparticles/carbon nanotubes (DNAzyme/Pt NPs/CNTs) bioconjugate was fabricated as trace tag for ultrasensitive sandwich DNA detection. The Pt NPs/CNTs were prepared via layer-by-layer (LBL) assembly of the Pt NPs and polyelectrolyte on the carboxylated CNTs, followed by the functionalization with the DNAzyme and reporter probe DNA through the platinum-sulfur bonding. The subsequent sandwich-type DNA specific reaction would confine numerous DNAzyme/Pt NPs/CNTs bioconjugate onto the gold electrode surface for amplifying the signal. In the presence of 3,3',5,5' tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) which could be oxidized by the DNAzyme, electrochemical signals could be generated by chronoamperometry via the interrogation of reduction electrochemical signal of oxidized TMB. The constructed DNA sensor exhibited a wide linear response to target DNA ranging from 1.0fM to 10pM with the detection limit down to 0.6fM and exhibited excellent selectivity against even a single base mismatch. In addition, this novel DNA sensor showed fairly good reproducibility, stability, and reusability.  相似文献

Because of their unique chemical, physical and electronic properties, Quantum dots (QDs) and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are now extremely attractive and important nanomaterials in bioanalytical applications. In this work, CdTe QDs with the size of about 3 nm were prepared and a novel electrochemical biosensing platform of glucose based on CdTe/CNTs electrode was explored. This CdTe/CNTs electrode was prepared by first mixing CdTe QDs, CNTs, Nafion, and glucose oxidase (GOD) in appropriate amounts and then modifying this mixture on the glass carbon electrode (GC). Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) was used to observe the dispersion of CdTe QDs on carbon nanotubes and cyclic voltammetry (CV) was used to investigate the electrochemical behavior of the CdTe/CNTs electrode. A pair of well-defined quasi-reversible redox peaks of glucose oxidase were obtained at the CdTe/CNTs based enzyme electrode by direct electron transfer between the protein and the electrode. The immobilized glucose oxidase could retain bioactivity and catalyze the reduction of dissolved oxygen. Due to the synergy between the CdTe QDs and CNTs, this novel biosensing platform based on QDs/CNTs electrode responded even more sensitively than that based on GC electrode modified by CdTe QDs or CNTs alone. The inexpensive, reliable and sensitive sensing platform based on QDs/CNTs electrode provides wide potential applications in clinical, environmental, and food analysis.  相似文献

The interaction between the carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and platinum (Pt) nanowires (NWs) was investigated using forced field-based molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. Our results display that the Pt NW can induce the self-assembly of the CNTs to form a shell-core structure, this is because of the van der Waals interaction and the offset face-to-face ππ stacking interaction. The diameter of the CNT plays a major role in the formation of shell–core structure. Furthermore, the position of the CNT on the Pt NW also affects the formation of shell–core configuration, whereas the cross section of the NWs has a negligible effect on the fabrication process. Moreover, the interaction between multi-wall carbon nanotube and Pt nanowires was also discussed in detail, it is worth noting that the formation conformation of the CNT is also much more stable.  相似文献

The use of polydopamine as a nitrogen containing precursor to generate catalytically active nitrogen‐doped carbon (CNx) materials on carbon nanotubes (CNTs) is reported. These N‐doped CNx/CNT materials display excellent electrocatalytic activity toward the reduction of triiodide electrolyte in dye‐sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). Further, the influence of various synthesis parameters on the catalytic performance of CNx/CNTs is investigated in detail. The best performing device fabricated with the CNx/CNTs material delivers power conversion efficiency of 7.3%, which is comparable or slightly higher than that of Pt (7.1%) counter electrode‐based DSSC. These CNx/CNTs materials show great potential to address the issues associated with the Pt electrocatalyst including the high cost and scarcity.  相似文献

Meldola's blue (MB) functionalized carbon nanotubes (CNT) nanocomposite film (MB/CNT) electrode was prepared by non-covalent adsorbing MB on the surface of a carbon nanotubes modified glassy carbon electrode (CNT/GCE). Electrochemical behaviors of the resulting electrode were investigated thoroughly with cyclic voltammetry in the potential range of -0.6 to 0.2V, and two well-defined redox couples were clearly visualized. We also studied the electron transfer kinetics of MB loaded on CNT (MB/CNT) in comparison with that of MB on conventional graphite powder (MB/GP). The heterogeneous electron transfer rate constant (k(s)) of MB/CNT was calculated to be about three times larger than that of MB/GP. The accelerated electron transfer kinetics was attributed to the unique electrical and nanostructural properties of CNT supports as well as the interaction between MB and CNT. In connection with the oxidation of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH), excellent electrocatalytic activities were observed at MB/CNT/GCE compared with MB/GP modified glassy carbon electrode (MB/GP/GCE). Based on the results, a new NADH sensor was successfully established using the MB/CNT/GCE. Under a lower operation potential of -0.1V, NADH could be detected linearly up to a concentration of 500 microM with an extremely lower detection limit of 0.048+/-0.02 microM estimated at a signal-to-noise ratio of 3. Sensitivity, selectivity, reproducibility and stability of the NADH sensor were also investigated and the main analytical data were also compared with those obtained with the MB/GP/GCE.  相似文献

A facile wet-chemical method was developed to prepare a novel Pt nanoparticle-loaded carbon nanofiber (Pt/CNF) electrode. Without using any stabilizer or pretreatment procedure, large amounts of Pt nanoparticles could be well deposited on the surface of the electrospun CNF electrode at room temperature, as revealed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The effect of the precursor concentration on the formation of Pt catalysts was investigated to optimize the performance of the proposed hybrid electrode. When applied to the electrochemical detection of hydrogen peroxide (H?O?), the Pt/CNF electrode exhibited low overpotential, fast response and high sensitivity. A low detection limit of 0.6 μM with wide linear range of 1-800 μM (R=0.9991) was achieved at the Pt/CNF electrode, which was superior to that obtained with other H?O? electrochemical sensors reported previously. In addition, the Pt/CNF electrode showed good selectivity for H?O? detection in the presence of ascorbic acid (AA), acetaminophenol (AP) and uric acid (UA) under physiological pH condition. The attractive analytical performances and facile preparation method made this novel hybrid electrode promising for the development of effective H?O? sensors.  相似文献

A novel chitosan/PVI-Os(polyvinylimidazole-Os)/CNT(carbon nanotube)/LOD (lactate oxidase) network nanocomposite was constructed on gold electrode for detection of lactate. The composite was nanoengineered by selected matched material components and optimized composition ratio to produce a superior lactate sensor. Positively charged chitosan and PVI-Os were used as the matrix and the mediator to immobilize the negatively charged LOD and to enhance the electron transfer, respectively. CNTs were introduced as the essential component in the composite for the network nanostructure. FESEM (field emission scan electron microscopy) and electrochemical characterization demonstrated that CNT behaved as a cross-linker to network PVI and chitosan due to its nanoscaled and negative charged nature. This significantly improved the conductivity, stability and electroactivity for detection of lactate. The standard deviation of the sensor without CNT in the composite was greatly reduced from 19.6 to 4.9% by addition of CNTs. With optimized conditions the sensitivity and detection limit of the lactate sensor was 19.7 μA mM−1 cm−2 and 5 μM, respectively. The sensitivity was remarkably improved in comparison to the newly reported values of 0.15–3.85 μA mM−1 cm−2. This novel nanoengineering approach for selecting matched components to form a network nanostructure could be extended to other enzyme biosensors, and to have broad potential applications in diagnostics, life science and food analysis.  相似文献

A new electrochemical sensor for the determination of norepinephrine (NE), acetaminophen (AC) and tryptophan (Trp) is described. The sensor is based on carbon paste electrode (CPE) modified with 3,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde-2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazone (DDP) and takes the advantages of carbon nanotubes (CNTs), which makes the modified electrode highly sensitive for the electrochemical detection of these compounds. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) at various scan rates was used to investigate the redox properties of the modified electrode. The apparent charge transfer rate constant, k(s), and transfer coefficient, α, for electron transfer between DDP and CNT paste electrode were calculated. The mediated oxidation of NE at the modified electrode was investigated by CV and the values of k, α and diffusion coefficient (D) were calculated. Under the optimum pH of 7.0, the oxidation of NE occurs at a potential about 215 mV less positive than that of the unmodified CPE. Differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) of NE at the modified electrode exhibited two linear dynamic ranges with a detection limit (3σ) of 77±2 nM. DPV was used for simultaneous determination of NE, AC and Trp at the modified electrode, and quantitation of NE in some real samples by the standard addition method.  相似文献

Carbon nanotube and metal particle composites have been exploited to fabricate high performance electrochemical devices. However, the physical and chemical procedures to synthesize the composites are labor intensive and inefficient. Our study reveals an one-step wet chemistry method to accomplish fast and controllable production of gold nanoparticle (AuNP) and carbon naotube (CNT) composites. Such a process is sensitive to the surface charge. Especially, when functionalized with carboxyl groups, the CNTs carried negative charges and showed low level association with negatively charged AuNPs. Thermal treatment was employed to decompose the carboxyl groups and render each CNT a charge-free surface thereby achieving a high level AuNP-CNT association. The fabricated glucose sensors demonstrated dependence of their sensitivities to the amount of AuNPs on the CNTs. The enhancement of sensitivity can be attributed to an accelerated electron transfer rate from glucose oxidase Gox to the electrode. The Michaelis-Menten kinetics also indicated improved performance in the glucose sensor made of AuNP-CNTs. Therefore, our research revealed a novel approach to produce metallic nanoparticle and CNT composite for fabricating high performance electrochemical sensors.  相似文献

We report on an amperometric biosensor that is based on a nanocomposite of carbon nanotubes (CNT), a nano-thin plasma-polymerized film (PPF), and glucose oxidase (GOx) as an enzyme model. A mixture of the GOx and a CNT film is sandwiched with 10-nm-thick acetonitrile PPFs. Under PPF layer was deposited onto a sputtered gold electrode. To facilitate the electrochemical communication between the CNT layer and GOx, CNT was treated with nitrogen or oxygen plasma. The resulting device showed that the oxidizing current response due to enzymatic reaction was 4-16-fold larger than that with only CNT or PPF, showing that the PPF and/or plasma process is an enzyme-friendly platform for designing electrochemical communication from the reaction center of GOx to the electrode via CNTs. The optimized glucose biosensor showed high sensitivity (sensitivity of 42 microA mM(-1)cm(-2), correlation coefficient of 0.992, linear response range of 0.025-2.2 mM, and a detection limit of 6 microM at signal/noise ratio of 3, +0.8 V versus Ag/AgCl), high selectivity (almost no interference by 0.5 mM ascorbic acid) for glucose quantification, and rapid response (<4 s to reach 95% of maximum response). Additionally, the devices showed a small and stable background current (0.35+/-0.013 microA) compared with the glucose response (ca. 10 microA at 10mM glucose) and suitable reproducibility from sample-to-sample (<3%, n=4).  相似文献

Layer-by-layer assembly of glucose oxidase (GOx) with single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) is achieved on the electrode surface based on the electrostatic attraction between positively charged GOx in pH 3.8 buffer and negatively charged carboxylic groups of CNTs. The cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy are used to characterize the formation of multilayer films. In deaerated buffer solutions, the cyclic voltammetry of the multilayer films of {GOx/CNT}n shows two pairs of well-behaved redox peaks that are assigned to the redox reactions of CNTs and GOx, respectively, confirming the effective immobilization of GOx on CNTs using the layer-by-layer technique. The redox peak currents of GOx increase linearly with the increased number of layers indicating the uniform growth of GOx in multilayer films. The dependence of the cyclic voltammetric response of GOx in multilayer films on the scan rate and pH is also studied. A linear decrease of the reduction current of oxygen at the {GOx/CNT}-modified electrodes with the addition of glucose suggests that such multilayer films of GOx retain the bioactivity and can be used as reagentless glucose biosensors.  相似文献

Organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs) based on poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonic acid) (PEDOT:PSS) with different gate electrodes, including graphite, Au and Pt electrode, etc., have been used as dopamine sensor for the first time. The sensitivity of the OECT to dopamine depends on its gate electrode and operation voltage. We find that the device with a Pt gate electrode characterized at the gate voltage of 0.6 V shows the highest sensitivity. The detection limit of the device to dopamine is lower than 5 nM, which is one order of magnitude better than a conventional electrochemical measurement with the same Pt electrode. It is expected that OECT is a good candidate for low cost and highly sensitive biosensor for the detection of dopamine.  相似文献

The behaviour of three different laccase-based graphite biosensors was studied in view of their use in agricultural or industrial waters polluted by phenolic compounds. Catechol was used as a substrate model. Laccase from Trametes versicolor was immobilized on one biosensor (type A electrode) by adsorption while, on the other two biosensor types, laccase was covalently bound through the carboxylic groups created on the graphite by means of treatment with an electric potential difference (type B electrode) or with nitric acid (type C electrode). In the latter two cases, hexamethylenediamine and glutaraldehyde were used as the spacer and the coupling agent, respectively. The extension of linear response range and the sensitivity and time stability of each biosensor type were investigated. The type C biosensor gave the best results and its electrochemical properties proved comparable to those reported by other authors.  相似文献

This paper reports a label-free electrochemical immunosensor for the determination of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1), which is based on a gold electrode modified by a biocompatible film of carbon nanotubes/poly(diallyldimethylammoniumchloride)/Pd–Au nanoparticles (CNTs/PDDA/Pd–Au). The nanocomposite was characterized by transmission electron microscopy and the electrochemical behavior of modified electrodes was investigated by cyclic voltammetry. The CNTs/PDDA/Pd–Au nanocomposites film showed good electron transfer ability, which ensured high sensitivity to detect AFB1 in a range from 0.05 to 25 ng mL−1 with a detection limit of 0.03 ng mL−1 obtained at 3σ (where σ is the standard deviation of the blank solution, n = 10). The proposed immunosensor provides a simple tool for AFB1 detection. This strategy can be extended to any other antigen detection by using the corresponding antibodies.  相似文献

In this study, the early stage of interfacial crystallisation behaviour of low molecular weight polyethylene (PE) and isotactic polypropylene (iPP) oligomer on the surface of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) with different diameters, chiralities and topography structures was studied using MD simulations. We started to simulate the effect of CNTs chirality and diameter on PE molecular chain orientation, and then the effect of CNTs topography structure on PE and iPP molecular chain orientation was investigated. Finally, some experiments were carried out to prove the simulated results. Our study shows that for CNTs with a diameter comparable with the radius of gyration (Rg) of a polymer chain, an easy orientation of PE chains along CNTs axis is observed for all the systems of the CNTs with different chiralities due to a geometric confinement effect. For CNTs with a much larger diameter, multiple orientation of PE chains is induced on its surface due to the lattice matching between graphite lattice and PE molecular chains. In this case, the chirality of CNTs dominates the orientation of graphite lattice, which determines the orientation of PE chains arrangement on CNTs surface. More importantly, it was found that the groove structure formed by CNT bundles is very useful for the stabilisation of polymer chain, and thus facilitates the orientation of molecular chain along the long axis of CNTs. As a result, a novel nanohybrid shish–kebab (NHSK) structure with CNTs acting as central shish while polymer lamellae as kebab can be successfully obtained for both PE with zigzag conformation and iPP with helical conformation. This simulation result was well supported by the experimental observation. Our study could provide not only a deep understanding of the origin of the polymer chain orientation on CNTs surface but also the guidance for the preparation of polymer/CNTs nanocomposites with novel NHSK structure.  相似文献

The electrochemistry of L-cysteine (CySH) in neutral aqueous media was investigated using carbon ionic liquid electrode (CILE). Comparative experiments were carried out using glassy carbon electrodes. At CILE, highly reproducible and well-defined cyclic voltammograms were obtained for l-cysteine with a peak potential of 0.49V vs Ag/AgCl, showing that CILE manifests a good electrocatalytic activity toward oxidation of l-cysteine. A linear dynamic range of 2-210microM with an experimental detection limit of 2microM was obtained. The method was successfully applied to the determination of l-cysteine in a sample of soya milk. Cysteine oxidation at CILE does not result in deactivation of the electrode surface. Mechanistic studies showed that, at CILE, the overall CySH oxidation is controlled by the oxidation of the CyS(-) electroactive species.  相似文献

Kinetic constants were compared among p-quinone, 2,6-dichlorophenolindophenol, phenazine methosulfate (PMS), methylene blue, and FAD in the oxidation of NADH. Among those, PMS was selected for its highest rate constant as a mediator for the electrochemical oxidation of NAD. The PMS could be stably immobilized on a graphite electrode surface by adsorption. The PMS adsorbed and that in the solution showed distinctly separated peaks in the cyclic voltammogram. The immobilized PMS functioned as an immobilized mediator to reduce the overpotential in the electrochemical oxidation of NAD so that the electrode could be used as an NAD regenerator. For the construction of an electrochemical bioreactor, a specially designed rotating disk graphite electrode was used. In spite of its extraordinarily large surface area, the behavior of the rotating disc electrode was described well by the Levich law. The NAD oxidation system of the rotating graphite disk electrode with PMS adsorbed was combined with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase reaction, which reduced NAD with the consumption of glucose-6-phosphate. The electrochemical bioreactor system worked well with recycling of NAD at a high current efficiency.  相似文献

Gold electrode was modified with 3-mercaptopropionic acid (MPA) and further reacted with poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM) dendrimer (generation 4.0) then attached the nano-Au to obtain films on which Prussian blue (PB) was electrochemically deposited to afford much wider pH adaptive range, much better electrochemical stability and excellent electrochemical response. The microstructure and electrochemical behavior of Au/MPA/PAMAM/nano-Au/PB electrode were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and cyclic voltammetry. The electrochemical response of the Au/MPA/PAMAM/nano-Au/PB-modified electrode for the electrocatalytic reduction of hydrogen peroxide was investigated, and it was found that the sensitivity as well as the corresponding detection limits were improved as compared to the voltammetric response of a Au/PB-modified electrode and Au/MPA/PAMAM/PB electrode. Based on this, a new electrochemical sensor for determination of hydrogen peroxide has been developed.  相似文献
