对叶子花(Bougainvillea spectabilis)正常叶和变态叶上气孔密度、气孔指数和保卫细胞大小进行了研究。结果表明:正常叶上表皮的表皮细胞为多边形,垂周壁平直;下表皮的表皮细胞为不规则型,垂周壁浅波状;气孔类型为不规则型。变态叶上表皮没有发现气孔,变态叶下表皮的表皮细胞垂周壁则由浅波形逐渐变为深波形,气孔类型为不规则型和轮列型。随着变态叶的发育,变态叶下表皮的气孔密度降低,气孔指数升高;变态叶保卫细胞的长增大,宽减小。变态叶的平均气孔密度和平均气孔指数明显低于正常叶。正常叶和变态叶的保卫细胞均呈肾形。  相似文献

利用光学显微镜和扫描电镜观察了葛(Pueraria lobata)叶的解剖学特征。结果表明,葛叶片的上、下表皮都只有一层表皮细胞,上表皮比下表皮厚。上、下表皮都有腺毛和非腺毛。气孔主要分布在下表皮,下表皮的气孔密度为(261±17)mm-2,上表皮只有(6±3)mm-2。叶肉由两层栅栏组织细胞和一层海绵组织细胞构成。叶肉细胞中有丰富的叶绿体。在栅栏组织和海绵组织之间有一层平行于叶脉的薄壁细胞。叶脉中含有大量的草酸钙晶体。葛叶的这些形态特征与其喜阳、耐旱的特点相适应。  相似文献

The light microenvironment within leaves of Medicago sativa L. cv. Armor was related to the anatomy of the epidermis. Leaf epidermal cells had a convex shape and appeared to act as lenses that focussed light within the upper region of the palisade. In leaves irradiated with collimated light, epidermal focussing was demonstrated by ray tracing, photomicrography and fiber optic probe measurements, where lens signatures were observed. No relationship was observed between the location of focal spots within the palisade and chloroplast positioning. Epidermal focussing could be largely eliminated by irradiating leaves with diffuse light or by coating their surface with a thin layer of mineral oil that closely matched the refractive index of the cell walls. Measurement of variable chlorophyll fluorescence after elimination of epidermal focussing on the adaxial leaf surface caused a 19 and 11% decrease in the initial fluorescence level (F0) and maximum fluorescence (Fmax), respectively, whereas similar measurements from the abaxial surface were twice as large. These results suggest that some of the chloroplasts within the leaf may be adapted to local high-light conditions created by the epidermis.  相似文献

Vacuolar saps were extracted from individual, anatomically uniform cells of the upper (adaxial) and lower (abaxial) epidermis of the third leaf of barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) using a modified pressure probe. Saps (volume 80-200 pL) were sampled at various times between 3 d before and 7 d after full-leaf expansion and were analyzed for their osmolality and their concentrations of NO3-, malate, CI-, K+, and Ca2+. The osmolalities of upper and lower epidermis both increased with time but were similar to each other. In young leaves, K+ and Ca2+ were evenly distributed between the two epidermal layers, but as the leaf aged, the upper epidermis accumulated high (40-100 mM) Ca2+, whereas cells of the lower epidermis accumulated K+ instead. Nitrate concentration was 100 to 150 mM higher in the upper than in the lower epidermis, whereas CI- was 50 to 120 mM higher in the lower epidermis. These differences did not depend on the leaf developmental stage. The uneven distribution of epidermal NO3- and CI- was maintainedover a wide range of epidermal sap concentrations of these ions and was not affected by NO3- or CI- starvation or by an increase in the light intensity from 120 to 400 [mu]mol m-2 s-1. However, the latter did cause a decrease in epidermal NO3- and the appearance and accumulation of epidermal malate, particularly in the upper epidermis. The physiological implications of the results for solute storage in leaves and for the pathways of ion distribution to the epidermis are discussed.  相似文献

The micromorphology of leaf epidermal cells and stomata of all eight species and one form (11 samples) of Cercis were observed by scanning electron microscopy and light microscopy. Both the adaxial and abaxial epidermal cells are polygonal or irregular in shape; the anticlinal walls are straight and arched or undulate. Two types of stomata, which occur only on the abaxial surface of the leaves, are found in the genus. The atypical paracytic type is present in only one species, Cercis chingii, and the anomocytic type is present in all other species. Interspecific differences are minor in the genus with regard to leaf epidermal characters, except for C. chingii, which is characterized by atypical paracytic‐type stomata, a two‐lipped outer stomatal rim, the highest stomatal density and undulate and densely pitted anticlinal walls in the adaxial epidermis. © 2008 The Linnean Society of London, Botanical Journal of the Linnean Society, 2008, 158 , 539–547.  相似文献

对山东广义苦荬菜属植物叶表皮微形态进行了光镜下的观察研究。结果表明:山东广义苦荬菜属9种植物叶表皮微形态可分为四种类型:(1)小苦荬型:上、下表皮均有气孔器,气孔器为不规则型,偶有非典型不等型,上、下表皮细胞为不规则形,垂周壁波状;(2)黄瓜菜型:上表皮无气孔器,下表皮气孔器为不规则型,偶有非典型不等型,上、下表皮细胞为不规则形,垂周壁深波状;(3)沙苦荬型:上、下表皮均有气孔器,气孔器为不规则型,偶有非典型不等型,上、下表皮细胞为多边形,垂周壁平直、弓形;(4)苦荬菜型:上、下表皮均有气孔器,气孔器为不规则型,偶有非典型不等型,上表皮细胞为不规则形,垂周壁波状,下表皮细胞为多边形,垂周壁弓形;与中国植物志把广义苦荬菜属划分为4个属的意见相一致。  相似文献

Light harvesting and utilization by chloroplasts located near the adaxial vs the abaxial surface of sun and shade leaves were examined by fluorometry in two herbaceous perennials that differed in their anatomy and leaf inclination. Leaves of Thermopsis montana had well-developed palisade and spongy mesophyll whereas the photosynthetic tissue of Smilacina stellata consisted of spongy mesophyll only. Leaf orientation depended upon the irradiance during leaf development. When grown under low-light levels, leaves of S. stellata and T. montana were nearly horizontal, whereas under high-light levels, S. stellata leaves and T. montana leaves were inclined 600 and 300, respectively. Leaf inclination increased the amount of light that was intercepted by the lower leaf surfaces and affected the photosynthetic properties of the chloroplasts located near the abaxial leaf surface. The slowest rates of quinone pool reduction and reoxidation were found in chloroplasts located near the adaxial leaf surface of T. montana plants grown under high light, indicating large quinone pools in these chloroplasts. Chloroplasts near the abaxial surface of low-light leaves had lower light utilization capacities as shown by photochemical quenching measurements. The amount of photosystem II (PSII) down regulation, measured from each leaf surface, was also found to be influenced by irradiance and leaf inclination. The greatest difference between down regulation monitored from the adaxial vs abaxial surfaces was found in plants with horizontal leaves. Different energy dissipation mechanisms may be employed by the two species. Values for down regulation in S. stellata were 2–3 times higher than those in T. montana, while the portion of the PSII population which was found to be QB nonreducing was 4–6 times lower in high light S. stellata leaves than in T. montana. All values of Stern-Volmer type nonphotochemical quenching (NPQ) from S. stellata leaves were similar when quenching analysis was performed at actinic irradiances that were higher than the irradiance to which the leaf surface was exposed during growth. In contrast, with T. montana, NPQ values from the abaxial leaf surface were up to 45% higher than those from the adaxial leaf surface regardless of growth conditions. The observed differences in chloroplast properties between species and between the adaxial and abaxial leaf surfaces may depend upon a complex interaction among light, leaf anatomy and leaf inclination.  相似文献

利用光学显微镜观察凤仙花科106份样本材料、36种代表植物的叶表皮微形态特征。结果表明:该科植物叶表皮微形态特征种内稳定,对于种间及属间关系的界定具有重要的分类学价值。上表皮细胞的形状及垂周壁的式样种间差异明显,各分类群间有明显的界限,是种间界定的重要依据,因此上表皮微形态特征具有重要的的分类学价值,基于上表皮的微形态特征将研究的36种代表植物划分为5个类型。下表皮的微形态特征虽更为多样,种间差异显著,可用于种间界定,但对于属下划分难以提供有价值的性状。该科植物叶表皮微形态特征与宏观形态特征的相关性较弱,与地理分布格局的相关性较强,关系更为密切。同一地理分布区域内的种类宏观形态特征虽然差别明显,但叶表皮微形态特征却表现出较强的一致性,这似乎也反映了叶表皮微形态这一性状受环境饰变的影响比较明显。综上所述,叶表皮微形态特征可为凤仙花科的系统发育,尤其是凤仙花属种间界定提供有价值的分类学佐证  相似文献

This study aimed to elucidate the infection process of Botrytis cinerea on eucalypt leaves. Tests were conducted to evaluate the influence of leaf side (adaxial or abaxial), leaf age and luminosity on conidial germination, appressorium formation and grey mould (GM) severity. The adaxial and abaxial surfaces of detached eucalypt leaves were inoculated with a conidial suspension of B. cinerea and kept under constant light or dark. Subsequently, the adaxial surface of young and old leaves was inoculated and kept in the dark. To evaluate the percentage of conidia germination and appressorium formation, leaf samples were collected 6 hours after inoculation (hai), clarified (alcohol and chloral hydrate) and evaluated under a light microscope. The severity of GM was assessed 10 days after inoculation. For scanning electron microscopy analysis, samples were collected from 2 to 168 hai. A higher percentage of conidia germination (92%) and GM severity (21%) occurred on the adaxial surfaces of leaves kept in the dark. There was no statistical difference between the surfaces of young and old leaves for conidia germination. No appressorium was formed by B. cinerea. The GM severity on young leaves (17.3%) was 34 times higher than on old leaves (0.5%). The micrographs showed germinating conidia emitting 1–4 germ tubes in samples at 4 hai. The fungus penetration occurred through intact leaf surfaces, and both extra‐ and intracellular colonization of the mesophyll cells by the hyphae of the pathogen were observed at 120 hai. Sporulation occurred on the adaxial and abaxial surfaces (macronematous conidiophores) and below the epidermis (micronematous conidiophores).  相似文献

利用光学显微镜和扫描电子显微镜对木犀榄族(Oleeae)5属14种植物的叶表皮微形态特征进行了观察,结果表明:(1)叶表皮细胞形状有无规则形和多边形两种;下表皮腺点的数目远远大于上表皮,流苏树上表皮细胞没有腺点;叶下表皮有气孔器,形状为圆形、椭圆形;气孔器均为不规则型;气孔器外围角质层有放射状、条状、环状、颗粒状等多种类型;(2)气孔器和叶表皮细胞许多特征具有明显的种间差异,可以作为种间鉴定的重要依据;(3)叶表皮微形态结构上的许多共同特征,表明木犀榄族植物是单独一自然类群。上述特征可为木犀榄族植物属及物种的划分与鉴定、系统演化关系的探讨等提供参考。  相似文献

When there is a saturating supply of dissolved carbon available, photosynthetic energy storage efficiency (ES) varies linearly with light fluence rate (I) for both Vallisneria americana and Pisum sativum leaves. The frequently reported hyperbolic relationship between ES and I occurs only when low levels of dissolved carbon are present in the medium. The linear relationship has its origin in intracellular events and implies that two heat-producing processes limit the value of ES. The rate of one process varies as I and the other varies as I2. The rates of both processes were changed after a 2 hour exposure to 400 μmol photons m−2 s−1 of red light, speeding up the process that depends linearly on I and slowing the other. Illumination for 1 hour with 100 μmol photons m−2 s−1 of blue (but not red) light moves many chloroplasts from the periclinal to the anticlinal cell walls [Inoue and Shibata (1973) Planta 114: 341–358]. Blue light exposure of V. americana leaf sections (a) reduced the rate of oxygen evolution under light-limiting conditions by about 22%; (b) increased the value of ES by an amount dependent on the light fluence rate; and (c) decreased the slope of (ES v I). The slope change indicated that light absorption had fallen by 26% after blue light exposure. The rate of oxygen evolution (V) was measured under light-limiting conditions with leaf sections in which the chloroplasts had been immobilised after blue or red light exposure. With both red and blue-exposed leaf sections, V fell by about 50% after exposure to 1 hour of 1250 μmol photons m−2 s−1 of white light. Thus accumulation of chloroplasts on anticlinal walls did not protect the leaf from photoinactivation by a high light fluence rate. 应用扫描电子显微镜,观察了松科(Pinaceae)3个属6种植物叶表皮特征。金钱松气孔带位下表面,气孔区与非气孔区表皮细胞形态差异很大,气孔细缝状;雪松针叶四面都具气孔线,气孔下陷,孔口光滑,针叶表面具较厚的角质层,表皮细胞形状观察不清;五针松针叶仅两腹面有气孔线,气孔有隆起的圆环围绕,表面角质层呈条纹状排列,形成一种沟槽;黑松、湿地松、马尾松针叶腹背面都有气孔线,气孔呈蜂窝状排列成行,气孔下陷,孔口角质化强烈。结果表明松科3个属植物叶表皮的形态结构及气孔器差异显著,一定程度上证实了3属是自然的分类群。  相似文献

The epidermis of Argenteum mutant of Pisum sativum L. and Vicia faba L. was shown to be effective in protecting mesophyll photosynthesis from UV-C irradiation (peak 254 nm; 1.5 W m−2). These plants were chosen because it is easy to peel the epidermis from both sides of the leaf in Argenteum and the abaxial side in Vicia . Chlorophyll a fluorescence induction was decreased to the same extent by UV-C radiation in both leaf sides when the epidermis was removed. The fluorescence from the leaf with the epidermis inact was not affected. With irradiation of leaves with higher intensity (3.4 W m−2) of UV-C, the variable fluorescence was decreased by UV-C impinging on the abaxial side, but not the adaxial side in either of the plant species. A methanol extract from the mutant Pisum epidermis had a high absorbance in the UV region, and the absorbance was more than two-fold larger in adaxial epidermis than in abaxial epidermis. These results indicate that the epidermal layer, which contains substances that have high UV absorbance, protects mesophyll photosynthesis against UV radiation.  相似文献

Abstract Young, amphistomatous hybrid poplar (Populus deltoides x trichocarpa) plants were exposed daily to either background (0.025 cm3 m-3) or elevated (0.125 cm3 m-3) concentrations of O3. Levels of abaxial and adaxial leaf conductance were affected interactively by pollutant treatment, leaf age, and photon fluence rate. Consequently, conductance in O3-treated leaves was sometimes higher and sometimes lower than in comparable control leaves, depending on leaf age or level of photon fluence rate. For example, at low photon fluence rate or in the dark, conductance was greater in O3-treated than in control plants, while at high photon fluence rate that relationship was reversed. Exposure to O3 also reduced the water-use efficiency and range of leaf conductance of individual leaves, and altered the relationship between the conductances of the two leaf surfaces (the ratio of abaxial to adaxial leaf conductance was increased). Furthermore, O3 treatment resulted in diminished stomatal control of water loss; excised O3-treated leaves had higher conductances and wilted sooner than excised control leaves of identical ages. Overall, the data indicate that exposure to O3 resulted in impaired stomatal function.  相似文献

采用光学显微镜和扫描电镜对鹿药属12种植物的叶表皮进行了观察,首次报道了12种鹿药属(Sm ilaci-na)植物叶表皮的微形态特征。结果表明:气孔器普遍存在于叶的下表皮,少数种的上表皮也有分布,均为不规则形。叶表皮细胞形状为多边形或不规则形,垂周壁式样可区分为近平直、浅波状和波状。在扫描电镜下,叶表皮气孔器外拱盖内缘为近平滑、浅波状或波状;角质膜条纹状,有的条纹隆起,有的条纹上附有颗粒和晶簇。气孔器的分布、气孔器外拱盖内缘形态以及角质膜等特征对该属部分种的区分具有一定的参考价值。  相似文献

该研究以古林箐秋海棠(Begonia gulinqingensis)为材料,通过分析叶片形态特征、上表皮光学特性、组织结构、叶绿素含量及叶绿素荧光参数(F_v/F_m),探讨了叶片色斑的形成原因。结果表明:(1)古林箐秋海棠叶斑发生频率和数量无明显规律,但发生部位相对稳定,叶斑主要发生在正对叶柄的两条主脉之间。(2)斑区有两种光反射模式,点状反射和多角形反射,栅栏组织细胞呈近等轴的圆形,排列疏松,与上表皮细胞间存在空隙;非斑区只有点状反射模式,栅栏组织细胞为漏斗型,排列紧密,与上表皮细胞间不存在空隙。(3)斑区和非斑区叶绿体均有密集的堆积基粒和丰富的类囊体膜,斑区叶绿素a、b及总叶绿素含量仅比非斑区分别低24.9%、25.2%、25.1%。(4)叶绿素荧光参数(F_v/F_m)值斑区为0.793,非斑区为0.790。虽然斑区叶绿素含量比非斑区略低,但叶绿体结构完整,且叶绿素荧光参数与非斑区无显著差异。斑区上表皮与栅栏组织细胞间的空隙可使光线到达绿色组织时发生二次反射,在叶片表皮细胞边缘形成白色多边形光反射使该区域相对周围正常叶片区域偏白,基于上述结果可推测古林箐秋海棠的淡绿色块斑形成与特殊的叶片结构有关。  相似文献

Changes in nuclear DNA content and cell size of adaxial andabaxial epidermal pavement cells were investigated using brightlight-induced leaf expansion of Phaseolus vulgaris plants. Inprimary leaves of bean plants grown under high (sunlight) ormoderate (ML; photon flux density, 163 µmol m–2s–1) light, most adaxial epidermal pavement cells hada nucleus with the 4C amount of DNA, whereas most abaxial pavementcells had a 2C nucleus. In contrast, plants grown under lowintensity white light (LL; 15 µmol m–2 s–1)for 13 d, when cell proliferation of epidermal pavement cellshad already finished, had a 2C nuclear DNA content in most adaxialpavement cells. When these LL-grown plants were transferredto ML, the increase in irradiance raised the frequency of 4Cnuclei in adaxial but not in abaxial pavement cells within 4d. On the other hand, the size of abaxial pavement cells increasedby 53% within 4 d of transfer to ML and remained unchanged thereafter,whereas adaxial pavement cells continuously enlarged for 12d. This suggests that the increase in adaxial cell size after4 d is supported by the nuclear DNA doubling. The differentresponses between adaxial and abaxial epidermal cells were notinduced by the different light intensity at both surfaces. Itwas shown that adaxial epidermal cells have a different propertythan abaxial ones. 对45种国产润楠属(Machilus Nees)植物的叶表皮进行光学显微镜和扫描电镜观察,其中31种为首次报道.结果表明:润楠属植物叶表皮细胞形状为多边形或不规则形,气孔复合体均为平列型且仅分布在下表皮;上下表皮细胞的垂周壁式样有5种类型:平直、圆滑、浅波、波状、平直-弓形;下表皮毛被有(稀疏、密集或非常密集)或无;上表皮平周壁纹饰类型有:点状、平滑、条纹(或波浪条纹);下表皮内面平周壁纹饰类型有:不规则、平滑、粗糙网状、微毛状、颗粒状、鳞片状.这些特征在本属种间存在较显著的差异,可作为区分种类的辅助特征和种间亲缘关系,因而对润楠属植物的分类学研究和亲缘关系的确定有较大意义.  相似文献
