Plant growth inhibitors of the podolactone-type have been detected by bioassay in ten further species of Podocarpus. The most active extracts in P. elatus were from root tips, root cortex and very young leaves. Fifty-seven other conifers were examined for this type of activity. It is present in Cephalotaxus harringtonia where it is probably due to the presence of harringtonolide, which, like momilactone B from rice husks, shows podolactone-type inhibition of the growth of etiolated dwarf pea hooks.  相似文献

Plant growth regulating activity of dehydrocostus lactone possessing an α-methylene-γ-lactone moiety has been compared with its two derived C-16 lactones, in which a trisubstituted double bond and a cyclopropane ring are conjugated with the lactone carbonyl. The results show that the two latter compounds are slightly more active than dehydrocostus lactone.  相似文献

Eleven compounds isolated from the growth inhibiting active fraction of male flowers of Cucurbita pepo, were identified as p-hydroxybenzaldehyde, anisyl alcohol, p-hydroxybenzyl methyl ether, p-hydroxybenzyl alcohol, veratryl alcohol, isovanillyl alcohol, p-coumaric acid, phloretic acid, benzyl-β-d-glucoside, 4-methoxybenzyl-β-d-glucoside and 3, 4-dimethoxybenzyl-β-d-glucoside. Each compound was assayed for growth inhibiting activity using lettuce seedlings; three showed strong activity, whereas the glucosides were inactive.  相似文献

The results of an analysis of the iridoid and n-alkane patterns in twelve species of Asperula and Galium revealed similarities rather than differences between and within the genera. The ease with which artefacts can be produced from asperuloside limits the taxonomic usefulness of asperuloside-type iridoids. A sub-division of the genus Galium based on the dominant alkanes was not completely in accord with the existing division of the genus into sections. The alkane patterns are largely unaffected by plant age or geographical location. They do support some of the taxonomic views currently held concerning the inter-relationships of different species in the genus Galium.  相似文献

Promotion of plant growth by polymers of lactic acid   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Polymers of L-lactic acid are shown to promote plant growth. Dry weight of duckweed (Lemna minor L.) and corn (Zea mays L) was more than doubled when plants were grown in media containing the dimer of L-lactic acid, L-lactoyllactic acid. Higher polymers were equally effective at increasing plant biomass. Monomeric lactic acid and polymers of D-lactic acid showed no biological activity. Increased plant biomass was accompanied by increased chlorophyll accumulation and root growth. Promotion of chlorophyll accumulation and biomass may be due to increased ability to assimilate nutrients as plants treated with L-lactoyllactic acid showed no decrease in biomass when grown in medium that was growth limiting for control plants.  相似文献

In this study, 22 new betulinic acid (BA) derivatives were synthesized and tested for their inhibition of the chymotrypsin-like activity of 20S proteasome. From the SAR study, we concluded that the C-3 and C-30 positions are the pharmacophores for increasing the proteasome inhibition effects, and larger lipophilic or aromatic side chains are favored at these positions. Among the BA derivatives tested, compounds 13, 20, and 21 showed the best proteasome inhibition activity with IC(50) values of 1.42, 1.56, and 1.80 μM, respectively, which are three to fourfold more potent than the proteasome inhibition controls LLM-F and lactacystin.  相似文献

Pea seedlings ( Pisum sativum L. cv. Weibull's Marma) were used to investigate the possible role of ethylene in light-induced inhibition of root elongation. Illumination of the roots with white light inhibited root elongation by 40–50% and increased ethylene production by the roots about 4-fold. Our main approach was to use exogenous 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC), supplied in the growth solution, to monitor ethylene production of the roots independent of light treatment. Ethylene production of excised root tips increased with increasing ACC concentrations. The rate of ethylene production in dark-grown roots treated with 0.1 μ M ACC was similar to that caused by illumination. Low ACC concentrations (0.01–0.1 μ M ) decreased the rate of root elongation, especially in seedlings grown in the dark, and 0.1 μ M ACC inhibited elongation to about the same extent as light. In light the roots curved and grew partly plagiogravitropically. This effect was also simulated by the 0.1 μ M ACC treatment. At 1 μ M and higher concentrations, ACC inhibited root growth almost completely and caused conspicuous curvatures of the root tips both in light and darkness. Inhibitors of ethylene synthesis and action partially counteracted the inhibition of root elongation caused by light. These observations suggest that the increase in ethylene production caused by light is at least partly responsible for the decreased growth of light-exposed roots.  相似文献

Abstract

Nanotechnology has been proposed as an important tool and strategy for applying new products in agriculture at the nanometer scale in order to improve the food crop at sustainability and productivity levels for contributing with the agriculture security. Nanoparticles (NPs) have been planted as an intelligent material with a large contact surface per unit mass respect to bulk-products, allowing its effect to be exerted with greater efficiency in a specific point on a plant target. Currently, NPs have been studied to be applied to various species of monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous plants. Some NPs properties such as concentration, shape, size, composition and surface functionality have the ability to regulate the NPs growth effects on the plant during germination and seedling stages under controlled and field conditions. Furthermore, several studies have tried to explain the mechanism of uptake, translocation and accumulation of NPs inside the plant at the organ and cell level, but further studies are needed to determine specific mechanisms and exact action. Nevertheless, evaluation of the toxicity effects of NPs on physiological indexes of the plant is needed to determine the effective dose without producing adverse effects on the plant and food chain. It is noteworthy that studies have indicated that nanoparticles, regardless of their nature, can be efficient inducers of plant growth. However, a series of laboratory tests are required to optimize their application conditions and their specific physiological impact on plants. In this review, we summarize the knowledge about NPs application to induce plant growth to direct future studies in order to propose NPs for technological innovation.  相似文献

研究了植物油对隐甲藻(Crypthecodinium cohnill ATCD30556)生长及DNA产量的影响。结果表明,培养基中添加1-2%橄榄油或豆油均可促进隐甲藻生长及增加DHA产量,添加1-5%花生油对隐甲藻生长及DHA产量影响不大。以获得DHA为目的,则培养基中添加1%的橄榄油或豆油即可。  相似文献

Stationary cultures of Aspergillus niger grown on a synthetic medium have been used to study the effect of some metabolic inhibitors on citric acid production. Addition of 0.05 to 1 mM sodium malonate or 0.01 to 0.1 mM potassium ferricyanide, iodoacetate, sodium azide, sodium arsenate or sodium fluoride stimulated citric acid production (3.6 to 45%), but not total titratable acids. Addition of higher concentrations (0.2 to 10 mM) of later inhibitors caused a marked inhibition of fungal growth and citric acid production. The implications of these preliminary findings are discussed.  相似文献

比较脱落酸(ABA)、乙烯利(ETH)、水杨酸(SA)和茉莉酸甲酯(MeJ A)4种植物生长调节物质(PGR)对水稻生长及籽粒镉(Cd)积累的影响差异。试验采用重金属污染土种植水稻,于分蘖期、灌浆期各进行1次PGR叶面喷施处理,分析灌浆期叶片光合指标,丙二醛(MDA)含量以及收获期各部位生物量和Cd含量。结果表明:(1)低浓度ABA(5mg/L)可维持水稻正常产量;高浓度ABA(15mg/L)则导致产量下降。ETH对水稻地上部生长和单株产量有显著抑制作用,SA和MeJ A(0.56mg/L)均可保证地上部正常生长,维持正常产量。(2)外施4种PGR均抑制灌浆期叶片气孔开放,降低蒸腾速率和光合速率,抑制效果最明显的是高浓度MeJ A(0.56mg/L)。(3)在供试浓度范围内SA、低浓度ABA(5mg/L)以及高浓度MeJ A均可降低灌浆期叶片MDA含量,减少质膜过氧化水平。(4)4种PGR均可降低水稻籽粒Cd含量,其中低浓度ABA(5mg/L)抑制籽粒Cd积累的效应最佳。相关性分析结果表明,PGR抑制籽粒积累Cd的效应与地上部向籽粒转运Cd的调控机制有关,与蒸腾速率无显著相关关系。(5)综上所述,低浓度ABA(5mg/L)处理对水稻产量无影响,且籽粒Cd含量降低程度最大。适当浓度的PGR可降低水稻籽粒Cd含量,在中低度重金属污染农田生态修复实践中具有一定的应用前景,但必须精确控制PGR的处理时间和处理浓度,避免出现抑制生长和降低产量的负效应。  相似文献

Cucumber, tomato, two flowering annuals and a flowering perennial produced plants of greater weight in soilless compost infested with Zygorrhynchus moelleri than in uninfested compost. In Z. moelleri -infested compost the annuals commenced flowering 4 to 10 days earlier, cucumbers produced mature fruits more rapidly and a greater weight (20%) of fruit was harvested from 15-wk-old tomato plants. Leaves of 11 and 15-wk-old tomato plants grown in infested compost contained more chlorophyll than leaves from plants in uninfested compost. Z. moelleri was isolated from 99% of segments cut from roots of tomato plants grown in infested compost and it suppressed the growth of Trichoderma spp. at the root surface. Propagules of Z. moelleri remained viable in air-dried compost for at least 12 months. In axenic culture, Z. moelleri enhanced lateral root development in tomato and cucumber seedlings.  相似文献

The aim of the present study was to investigate the protective role of grape seed extract (containing proanthocyandin) against the adverse effects of plant growth regulators (GA3 (gibberellic acid) and IAA (indoleacetic acid)). The present data showed that the administration of either GA3 and IAA caused undesirable changes in both hepatic and testicular structure. This was evidenced by a disturbed hepatic strands, pyknotic nuclei, central vein with collapsed endothelium, dilatation in bile sinusoids, congested blood vessel, binucleatd hepatocytes, lymphocytic infiltration, vacuolation, giant hepatic cells, increased Kupffer cells and karyoryxis. Additionally, it was shown that degenerative changes in the testis, spermatogenic arrest, moderate tubular necrosis, Leydig cell degeneration and reduction in the number and size of the seminiferous tubules with some spermatogonia detached from the basement membrane. Concerning flow cytometric study of the liver a significant decrease in G0/1 % and a significant increase in S phase %, G2/M  %, P53 % and apoptosis % (sub G1) were detected. However, in testis the data recorded a significant decrease in the percentage of mature sperm (percentage of haploid cells) and a significant increase in the percentage of spermatide, diploid cells, P53 and of apoptotic cells. On the other hand, a distinct recovery of the mentioned hepatic and testicular histopathological and cytogenetic disorders was observed when proanthocyanidin was supplemented to rats administered either of the plant growth hormones (GA3 and IAA).  相似文献

Neutral and acidic oligosaccharides were obtained from birchwood xylan by treatment with an endoxylanase, family 10 class, from Thermoascus aurantiacus. The main acidic xylooligosaccharide (aldotetrauronic acid) was separated from the hydrolysate by anion-exchange and size-exclusion chromatography and the primary structure was determined by 13C NMR spectroscopy. The aldotetrauronic yield was 15% (w/w) of the total solubilised sugars. The addition of purified aldoterauronic acid at 1.6–16 mg l–1 growth medium, induced callus and somatic embryogenesis in culture explants of common mallow (Malva silvestris L.) and cotton (Gosssypium hirsutum).  相似文献

To correlate endogenous growth inhibitors of dwarf pea to its dwarfism a thorough search of growth inhibitors was made in the neutral fraction of an acetone extract from the shoots of light-grown seedlings of Pisum sativum L. cvs Progress No 9 and Alaska. From both cultivars six inhibitors were separated and named A-1, A-2, A-3, B-1, B-2 and B-3 based on their order of elution from the silica gel column. Their contents as determined by cress root bioassay were: in cv. Progress 0.40, 16.5, 6.36, 1.02, 0.11 and 0.10, and in cv. Alaska 0.33, 2.35, 3.51, 0.95, 0.10 and 0.09 cress units (g fresh weight)−1. Their contributions to growth regulation of the relevant pea plants were estimated as the products of the above-stated contents times the ratios of the specific activities of each standard sample in the cress roots and the relevant pea cultivars, and they were; in cv. Progress A-2, 5.44 and A-3, 2.10, and in cv. Alaska A-2, 0.68 and A-3, 0.88, those of A-2 and A-3 constituting more than 90% of the total contribution of the six inhibitors in either cultivar. The great differences in the content and contribution to growth regulation of A-2 and A-3 between the two cultivars suggest that the higher contents of and greater responsiveness to the two inhibitors in cv. Progress may be causes of dwarfism of this cultivar. A-l and A-3 were spectroscopically identified with pisatin and a mixture of cis, trans– , and trans, trans xanthoxins.  相似文献
