3β-hydroxy-21β-e-cinnamoyloxyolean-12-en-28-oic acid,a triterpenoid from enterolobium contorstisiliquum

The triterpenes 3β-hydroxy-21β-E-cinnamoyloxyolean-12-en-20-oic acid, 3β,21β-dihydroxyolean-12-en-28-oic acid (machaerinic acid) and its lactone (3β-hydroxyolean-12-en-21β→28-lactone) were isolated from the fruits of Enterolobium contorstisiliquum. Methyl and ethyl esters of 3β,21β-dihydroxyolean-12-en-oic acid were isolated and characterized as artifacts. The structures of these triterpenes have been established by a study of their chemical and spectroscopic (IR, MS and NMR) data.     

Sapogenins from Guaiacum officinale

Acid hydrolysis of the saponins from the stem bark of Guaiacum officinale yielded the new sapogenin 3β,20η-dihydroxy-30-norolean-12-en-28-oic acid and the artifacts 3β-hydroxy-30-norolean-12,19-dien-28-oic acid and its methyl ester. Larreagenin, sitosterol and oleanolic acid were also isolated.

用溶剂提取和硅胶柱层析分离的方法 ,从中越猕猴桃 (Actinidiaindochinensis)的根部分分离得到 6个化合物 ,根据其理化性质和波谱分析 ,分别鉴定为 :2α,3α,2 4 三羟基 1 2 烯 2 8 齐墩果酸 (Ⅰ ) ,2α,3α 二羟基 1 2 烯 2 8 乌苏酸 (Ⅱ ) ,2α,3α ,1 9α 三羟基 1 2 烯 2 8 乌苏酸 (Ⅲ ) ,熊果酸 (Ⅳ ) ,β 谷甾醇 (Ⅴ ) ,和 β 胡萝卜甙(Ⅵ )。化合物Ⅰ、Ⅱ、Ⅲ、Ⅵ为首次从该植物中获得。其中化合物Ⅰ、Ⅱ为首次从该属植物获得。     

Minor triterpenes from Orthopterygium huancuy

Two new triterpenes, 3-oxo-20-hydroxy-lupan-28-oic and 3β,6β-dihydroxy-olean-18-en-28-oic acids, along with oleanonic, morolic and sumaresinolic acids have been isolated from Orthopterygium huancuy. The structure of the first new terpene was determined by single crystal X-ray analysis.     

Triterpenoids from Hyptis suaveolens roots

A new natural triterpenoid, 3β-hydroxylup-12-en-28-oic acid, has been isolated from the roots of Hyptis suaveolens in addition to α- and β-amyrin.     

Triterpenoids from guettarda angelica

From the root bark of Guettarda angelica were isolated 3-O-β-d-glucopyranosyl-quinovic acid and its aglycone. The root wood gave the same glucoside, rotundic acid, hederagenin and 3β,23-dihydroxyurs-12-en-28-oic acid.     

Triterpenoids from two Mallotus species: a nor-triterpene and two new acids

The carbonyl compound, previously isolated from the stems of Mallotus paniculatus, has been proved to be 29-nor-21αH-hopane-3,22-dione. The light petrol extracts of both the leaves and stems of M. hookerianus have been found to contain friedelin, friedelan- 3β-ol and sitosterol, and the ethanol extract of the former two new triterpene acids, 3-oxours-12-ene-27,28-dioic and 3β,28-dihydroxyurs-12-en-27-oic acids.     

Structure of terminic acid,a dihydroxytriterpene carboxylic acid from Terminalia arjuna

The structure of terminic acid, a new dihydroxytriterpene carboxylic acid isolated from the roots of Terminalia arjuna, has been established as 3β, 13β-dihydroxylup-20(29)-en-28-oic acid by a study of its chemical reactions and spectroscopic data. Terminic acid and its derivatives were found to undergo skeletal rearrangement under protonic conditions to yield oleanene lactone.     

Triterpenes from Euonymus revolutus

Fourteen pentacyclic triterpenes, which included ten D:A-friedooleananes, three lup-20(29)-enes and 2α,3α-dihydroxy-olean-12-en-28-oic acid, were isolated from the stem bark extract of Euonymus revolutus.     

Triterpenes from Periandra dulcis roots

Three oleanane triterpenes were isolated from the roots of Periandra dulcis,and identified as 3β-hydroxy-25-al-olean-18-en-30-oic acid (periandric acid I), 3β-hydroxy-25-al-olean-12-en-30-oic acid (periandric acid II) and 3-oxo-25-hydroxy-olean-12-en-30-oic acid. The former two compounds (periandric acids I and II) were identical with the aglycones obtained by hydrolysis of periandrin I and II, respectively and the latter one was a new triterpene.     

Chemical Constituents from Fruits of Rosa davidii

From the fruit of Rosa davidii Crep., eleven compounds were isolated and identified by spectral evidence, viz. 2α,3β,19β-trihydroxyl-olean-12-en-28-oic acid (1), 2α,3β-dihydroxyl-urs-28(13)-lactone (2), arjunic acid (3), euscaphic acid (4), 2α,3β-dihydroxyl-urs-12-en-28-oic acid (5), oleanolic acid (6), kaempferol (7), tiliroside (8), quercetin (9), daucosterol (10) and β-sitosterol (11). Among them, 1 and 2 were new compounds.     

Two triterpenoid carboxylic acids from Acanthopanax trifoliatus

Two new triterpenoid carboxylic acids have been isolated from leaves of Acanthopanax trifoliatus and their structures elucidated as 3α, 11α-dihydroxylup-20(29)-en-28-oic acid and 30α, 11α,23-trihydroxylup-20(29)-en-28-oic acid by physical data and chemical transformations.     

Triterpenoid acids from Sapium sebiferum

Sebiferenic acid, isolated from the bark of Sapium sebiferum, has been characterized as 2α,3β-dihydroxytaraxer-14-en-28-oic acid on the basis of ¹H NMR, ¹³C NMR and mass spectral evidence and chemical transformations. The structure of sebiferic acid has been revised.     

Two 24-nor-triterpenoid carboxylic acids from acanthopanax trifoliatus

From Acanthopanax trifoliatus the new nor-triterpenes 24-nor-3α, 11α-dihydroxy-lup-20(29)-en-28-oic acid and 24-nor-11α-hydroxy-3-oxo-lup-20(29)-en-28-oic acid were isolated. Their structures were determined on the basis of spectroscopic data, X-ray analysis and chemical transformations.     

Occurrence of betulinic acid in different callus cultures of Solanum aviculare

Betulinic acid (3β-hydroxy-lup-20(29)-en-28-oic acid) was obtained from in vitro cultures of Solanum aviculare in yields up to 3% of the dry weight. This is a further example of overproduction by cells cultured in vitro of a product not found in the original parent plant.     

New derivatives of ursolic acid through the biotransformation by Bacillus megaterium CGMCC 1.1741 as inhibitors on nitric oxide production

Microbial transformation of ursolic acid (1) by Bacillus megaterium CGMCC 1.1741 was investigated and yielded five metabolites identified as 3-oxo-urs-12-en-28-oic acid (2); 1β,11α-dihydroxy-3-oxo-urs-12-en-28-oic acid (3); 1β-hydroxy-3-oxo-urs-12-en-28, 13-lactoe (4); 1β,3β, 11α-trihydroxyurs-12-en-28-oic acid (5) and 1β,11α-dihydroxy-3-oxo-urs-12-en-28-O-β-d-glucopyranoside (6). Metabolites 3, 4, 5 and 6 were new natural products. Their nitric oxide (NO) production inhibitory activity was assessed in lipopolysaccharide (LPS) – stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. Compounds 3 and 4 exhibited significant activities with the IC₅₀ values of 1.243 and 1.711 μM, respectively. A primary structure-activity relationship was also discussed.

A lupenediol from Euonymus revolutus

A new lupane derivative isolated from Euonymus revolutus (Celastraceae) has been established to be 2α,3α-dihydroxy-lup-20(29)-en-28-oic acid on the basis of chemical interconversions and spectroscopic data.     

Terpenes of Dipterocarpus and Doona species

From the resins of Dipterocarpus hispidus, Dipterocarpus zeylanicus and Doona macrophylla, asiatic (2α,3β,23α-trihydroxyurs-12-en-28-oic) and 2α,3β-dihydroxyurs-12-en-28-oic acids have been isolated. The resin of Doona macrophylla contains ursolic acid and that of Doona congestiflora asiatic acid, 20β-hydroxy-3-oxo dammar-23-ene (Dipterocarpol) and a dihydroxyolean-12-en-28-oic acid. The bark of Dipterocarpus hispidus contains betulinic acid, dipterocarpol, and 3β,20β-dihydroxydammar-23-ene (dammarenediol 20S) whilst the timber contained dipterocarpol and asiatic acid.
