One additional species and a variety ofMariannaea, M. camptospora andM. elegans var.punicea, were recorded for the first time in Japan.Mariannaea camptospora formed two types of conidiophores. One type was characterized by simple verticillate phialides sometimes with punctuate walls at the base, producing long oblique conidial chains, and symmetrical spindle-shaped conidia. The other type was characterized by more crowded and shorter phialides with small conidial droplets and hemispherical to concave smaller conidia.Mariannaea elegans var.punicea was characterized by distinct red purple pigmentation in agar media. A new species,Stenella persicae, isolated from peach is described and illustrated. The fungus, pathogenic to peach fruits, is distinguished from other known species in the genus by its morphological characteristics. A stroma is absent, and conidia, verruculose and usually catenate in appearance, are produced blastically on simple and smooth conidiophores.  相似文献

Two species ofPythium (P. pyrilobum, P. oligandrum) having spherical sporangia with complex subglobose elements were isolated from the crown of creeping bentgrass [Agrostis palustris (cv. Penncross)] and from vegetable field soil, respectively. They are reported for the first time in Japan.  相似文献

Six carabidicolous species of Laboulbeniales are reported as new for the Japanese mycoflora. They areLaboulbenia finitima, L. separata, L. borneensis, L. manubriolata, Dimeromyces caribaeus, andDixomyces ornatus. In Japan, the former three species are parasitic onMochtherus luctuosus and the latter three species onPerigona nigriceps. Laboulbenia finitima occurs on the left legs (tarsi and tibiae);L. separata on the left elytral margin:L. borneensis on the pronotum;L. manubriolata on the pronotum and elytra;Dimeromyces caribaeus on the right inferior posterior surface of the prothorax (pronotal hypomeron); andDixomyces ornatus on the outer margin of the right elytron. Comments and photographs are given for each fungus.  相似文献

Arachnion album was collected in Osaka and Hyogo Prefectures, western Honshu, Japan. This is a new record of this genus for Japan. Macro- and microscopic features of the species are described and illustrated based on the Japanese specimens, and comparisons with some related taxa of A. album are given.  相似文献

Six carabidicolous species of Laboulbeniales are reported as new for the Japanese mycoflora. They areDixomyces stomonaxi, Laboulbenia picardii, L. tenera, L. slackensis, L. aristata andL. kwangjuensis. Two forms ofD. stomonaxi are distinguished, one form of which resemblesD. nigromarginatus. A remarkable ornamentation consisting of a coillike pattern occurs on the receptacle ofL. picardii. InL. tenera andL. slackensis, the outer appendage has somewhat constricted, blackened septa near the base.Laboulbenia aristata andL. kwangjuensis have spirally arranged outer wall cells. Antheridia were observed inL. tenera, L. slackensis, L. aristata andL. kwangjuensis.  相似文献

Polycelis (Seidlia) auriculata is endemic to mountain districts of Japan, from the central part of Honshû to the area of the Daisetsu Mts of Hokkaidô. In northern Japan, it sometimes occurs in cold-water biotopes of lowland areas. The progenitor of P. auriculata appears to have been the oldest immigrant into northern Japan among the Japanese Polycelis species, entering through a northern route as a preglacial faunal element. P. auriculata now shows a discontinious distribution in northern Japan. By virtue of its geographical and vertical distribution, ecological niche, variation in anatomy of the copulatory apparatus, and cytodemes, this species appears to be in the process of transformation.  相似文献

A new species of the genusLaboulbenia, L. diplocheilae, has been established for specimens on the host genusDiplocheila (Coleoptera, Carabidae, Licinini).Laboulbenia diplocheilae is easily distinguished fromL. proliferans var.divaricata onChlaenius by the absence of a black constriction on the outermost branch of the outer appendage and by the simple stalks subtending grouped antheridia borne on appendage branches in the middle of the appendage system.  相似文献

Silicified wood collected from the Lower Miocene Nawamata Formation at two localities, Nakaya and Nigoriike, Monzen-machi, Noto Peninsula, central Japan, were identified. Among the 58 specimens there are two species of conifers and eleven species of dicotyledons:Taxodioxylon cunninghamioides (Watari) Watari andT. sequoianum (Merckl.) Gothan (both Taxodiaceae),Carya protojaponica Watari (Juglandaceae),Pterocarya rhoifolia Siebold et Zucc. (Juglandaceae),Ostrya monzenensis sp. nov. (Betulaceae),Quercus anataiensis (Watari) Watari (Fagaceae),Liquidambar hisauchii comb. nov. (Hamamelidaceae),Prunus iwatense (Watari) Takahashi et Suzuki (Rosaceae),Gleditsia paleojaponica comb. nov. (Leguminosae),Acer watarianum Takahashi et Suzuki (Aceraceae),Meliosma mio-oldhami sp. nov. (Sabiaceae),Reevesia miocenica Watari (Sterculiaceae), andFraxinus notoensis sp. nov. (Oleaceae). The fossil wood floras at the two localities are compared to the Daijima Flora, and warm-and/or cool-temperate mesic forests are suggested to occur in the Early Miocene of Monzen.  相似文献

Three species of gorgonians (Primnoa pacifica, Calcigorgia japonica, and Thouarella superba) are reported as new records for the northwestern Sea of Japan; one of them (Calcigorgia japonica sp. n.) has been described as a new species. Variations of colony morphology in some species are described; the taxonomical value of specific characters is discussed. The geographical range of Primnoa pacifica in the northwestern Pacific is shown to be wider than was considered earlier. Variations of sclerite morphology (number of marginal plates, presence of additional basal plates, and number of marginal spines on the basal plate) are regarded as intracolonial or intraspecific variability. The distribution range of Thouarella superba described earlier from the Aleutian Islands (Nutting, 1912) was shown to extend into the low-boreal part of the boreal Pacific. An examined specimen of Paragorgia sp. differed from all known species and appeared similar only to P. regalis Nutting, 1912 reported from the eastern coast of Japan. The most distinctive characters of Calcigorgia japonica sp. n. were the shape of polyp, with a thin lower part looking like folded podia (in fixed specimens) and the presence of two types of clubs scattered among the sclerites of the polyp.  相似文献

Distopyrenis japonica sp. nov. is described from Chiba-ken, central Japan. It is characterized by simple ascomata with a sublateral ostiole, and narrow ascospores (12–15×5–6 μm) with a euseptum developed in the median distoseptum. In the holotype, the fungus seems to grow parasitically on a crustose lichen,Graphis proserpens. This is the first record of a lichenicolous habit amongDistopyrenis.  相似文献

A new shrimp-associated goby,Amblyeleotris melanocephala, is described on the basis of specimens from Okinoshima Island. Kochi Prefecture, and Okinawa Island, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. The species is distinguished from other members of the genus by the following combination of characters: head dark brown, a few yellow spots on pectoral fin base and opercular margin, 13 second dorsal and 13 anal fin soft rays, 20 pectoral fin rays, longitudinal scales 92–101, proportional length of interpelvic connecting membrane relative to longest pelvic fin ray (CM-value) 0.46–0.55, presence of a ventral frenum, midline of nape naked, sides scaled above midpoint between preopercle and opercle.  相似文献
