The photosynthetic and respiratory responses of Gracilaria salicornia in the subtropical waters of Japan (in Okinawa) and in the tropical waters of Thailand (in Rayong and Phuket Provinces), were studied under various conditions of irradiance, salinity and temperature. This alga showed adaptability in its photosynthetic and respiratory responses to oceanic salinity as well as to subtropical to tropical temperature. Significant differences in the photosynthetic and respiratory rates among the G. salicornia populations collected from the above sites were observed. The Phuket population showed adaptability to high irradiance and temperature, characteristic of its natural sun-exposed environment, as it exhibited the highest I k and I c, and lowest α and higher P max at 30–35°C. On the other hand, the Okinawa population demonstrated adaptability to low submarine irradiance as it had a lower I k and I c than either population from Thailand. Its P max at 20–25°C was also higher than that of the Phuket population. The Rayong population, however, showed the highest P max, Rd, α, I k and I c, suggesting its adaptability to both sun and shade light conditions in its natural environment. Raphidiopsis raciborskii is a tropical toxic cyanobacterium that is rapidly expanding to diverse lake habitats in different climate zones by sophisticated adaptation mechanisms.This meta-analysis investigated correlations of R. raciborskii with water temperature and N:P (nitrogen to phosphorus)-ratios across four lakes with different climates and trophic states by means of long-term time series and the hybrid evolutionary algorithm HEA. The results have shown that in the lakes with temperate and Mediterranean climate, R. raciborskii is strongly correlated with water temperature since germination and growth rely on rising water temperatures in spring. In contrast, there was a weaker correlation with water temperature in subtropical and tropical lakes where pelagic populations of R. raciborskii are overwintering, and are present all year round. However, the highest abundances of R. raciborskii coincided with highest water temperature for the Mediterranean, subtropical and tropical lakes, whilst in the temperate Langer See the highest abundances of R. raciborskii occurred at 24.1 °C, even though temperatures of up to 27 °C were recorded in 2013 and 2014. The correlation of R. raciborskii with N:P-ratios proved to be strongest for the meso- to eutrophic Lake Kinneret (r2 = 0.8) and lowest for the eutrophic Lake Paranoa (r2 = 0.16). However, the assumption has been confirmed that R. raciborskii is growing fastest when waters are N-limited regardless of trophic states. In terms of phenology, the temperate and Mediterranean lakes displayed “fastest growth” in spring and early summer. In contrast, the growing season in subtropical and tropical lakes lasted from spring to autumn most likely because of overwintering populations, and growing importance of direct and indirect biotic regulating factors such as competition, grazing, remineralisation of nutrients along warming climate. In order to carry out a meta-analysis of time series across four different lakes, HEA served as powerful tool resulting in inferential models with predictive capacity for population dynamics of R. raciborskii just driven by water temperature or N:P-ratios, whilst coefficients of determination r2 served as criteria for hypotheses testing.  相似文献

ABSTRACT We tested whether pelagic light and nutrient availability, metabolism, organic pools and CO2-supersaturation were related to lake size and surrounding forest cover in late summer–autumn measurements among 64 small (0.02–20 ha), shallow seepage lakes located in nutrient-rich, calcareous moraine soils in North Zealand, Denmark. We found a strong implicit scaling to lake size as light availability increased significantly with lake size while nutrient availability, phytoplankton biomass and dissolved organic matter declined. Forest lakes had significantly stronger net heterotrophic traits than open lakes as higher values were observed for light attenuation above and in the water, dissolved organic matter, pelagic community respiration (R) relative to maximum gross primary production (R/GPP) and CO2-supersaturation. Total-phosphorus was the main predictor of phytoplankton biomass (Chl) despite a much weaker relationship than observed in previous studies of larger lakes. Maximum gross primary production increased with algal biomass and decreased with dissolved organic matter, whereas community respiration increased with dissolved organic matter and particularly with gross primary production. These results suggest that exogenous organic matter supplements primary production as an energy source to heterotrophs in these small lakes, and particularly so in forest lakes experiencing substantial shading from the forest and dissolved humic material. This suggestion is supported by 20–30-fold CO2 supersaturation in the surface water of the smallest forest lakes and more than sixfold supersaturation in 75% of all measurements making these lakes among the most supersaturated temperate lakes examined so far.  相似文献

The physiological differences for three bloom-forming cyanobacteria (Cylindrospermopsis raciborskii, Microcystis aeruginosa, and Aphanizomenon flos-aquae) were investigated. In comparison with M. aeruginosa and A. flos-aquae, C. raciborskii exhibited a significantly higher concentration of carotenoids, higher values in maximum photosynthesis rate (Pm), apparent photosynthetic efficieny (a), and maximum electron transport rate (ETRmax) during the growth period. In addition, higher extracellular alkaline phosphatase activities and lower light compensation point (Ic) were also detected in C. raciborskii (p < 0.05, ANOVA). Therefore, it is suggested that the higher photosynthetic activities, more effective uptake and utilization to phosphate, and low light requirements might play important roles in the occurrence and invasive behavior of C. raciborskii.  相似文献

Sensitivity to cold and freezing differs between populations within two species of live oaks (Quercus section Virentes Nixon) corresponding to the climates from which they originate. Two populations of Quercus virginiana (originating from North Carolina and north central Florida) and two populations of the sister species, Q. oleoides, (originating from Belize and Costa Rica) were grown under controlled climate regimes simulating tropical and temperate conditions. Three experiments were conducted in order to test for differentiation in cold and freezing tolerance between the two species and between the two populations within each species. In the first experiment, divergences in response to cold were tested for by examining photosystem II (PS II) photosynthetic yield (ΔF/F m′) and non-photochemical quenching (NPQ) of plants in both growing conditions after short-term exposure to three temperatures (6, 15 and 30°C) under moderate light (400 μmol m−2 s−1). Without cold acclimation (tropical treatment), the North Carolina population showed the highest photosynthetic yield in response to chilling temperatures (6°C). Both ecotypes of both species showed maximum ΔF/F m′ and minimum NPQ at their daytime growth temperatures (30°C and 15°C for the tropical and temperate treatments, respectively). Under the temperate treatment where plants were allowed to acclimate to cold, the Q. virginiana populations showed greater NPQ under chilling temperatures than Q. oleoides populations, suggesting enhanced mechanisms of photoprotective energy dissipation in the more temperate species. In the second and third experiments, inter- and intra-specific differentiation in response to freezing was tested for by examining dark-adapted F v/F m before and after overnight freezing cycles. Without cold acclimation, the extent of post-freezing declines in F v/F m were dependent on the minimum freezing temperature (0, −2, −5 or −10°C) for both populations in both species. The most marked declines in F v/F m occurred after freezing at −10°C, measured 24 h after freezing. These declines were continuous and irreversible over the time period. The North Carolina population, however, which represents the northern range limit of Q. virginiana, showed significantly less decline in F v/F m than the north central Florida population, which in turn showed a lower decline in Fv/F m than the two Q. oleoides populations from Belize and Costa Rica. In contrast, after exposure to three months of chilling temperatures (temperate treatment), the two Q. virginiana populations showed no decline in F v/F m after freezing at −10°C, while the two Q. oleoides populations showed declines in F v/F m reaching 0.2 and 0.1 for Costa Rica and Belize, respectively. Under warm growth conditions, the two species showed different F 0 dynamics directly after freezing. The two Q. oleoides populations showed an initial rise in F 0 30 min after freezing, followed by a subsequent decrease, while the Q. virginiana populations showed a continuous decrease in F 0 after freezing. The North Carolina population of Q. virginiana showed a tendency toward deciduousness in response to winter temperatures, dropping 58% of its leaves over the three month winter period compared to only 6% in the tropical treatment. In contrast, the Florida population dropped 38% of its leaves during winter. The two populations of the tropical Q. oleoides showed no change in leaf drop during the 3-months winter (10% and 12%) relative to their leaf drop over the same timecourse in the tropical treatment. These results indicate important ecotypic differences in sensitivity to freezing and cold stress between the two populations of Q. virginiana as well as between the two species, corresponding to their climates of origin.  相似文献

Electrophoretic variants for 11 isozyme systems were examined by horizontal polyacrilamide gel electrophoresis in natural populations of Larrea ameghinoi and L. nitida (section Larrea). The two taxa presented fixed alternative allelic variants at loci Adh-1, Gdh-1 and Mdh-1. Genetic variability estimates showed no statistically significant differences among populations of section Larrea (He: 0.097–0.167). However, these values were significantly lower than those reported for species of section Bifolium (L. divaricata, diploid L. tridentata) in a previous contribution (He: 0.17–0.29). Positive and highly significant Wright's fixation indices are in agreement with higher amounts of inbreeding for nitida and L. ameghinoi, as suggested on the basis of floral morphology by previous authors. Moreover, the higher levels of genetic differentiation obtained for conspecific populations of section Larrea as compared to those of section Bifolium are also consistent with these observations. Nei's genetic identity values obtained for sympatric (I=0.80) and allopatric (I=0.63–0.73) L. ameghinoiL. nitida population pairs are concordant with those expected for different, but closely related congeneric species. Castanea squinii Dode, an endemic tree widely distributed in China, plays an important role both in chestnut breeding and forest ecosystem function. The spatial genetic structure within and among populations is an important part of the evolutionary and ecological genetic dynamics of natural populations, and can provide insights into effective conservation of genetic resources. In the present study, the spatial genetic structure of a panmictic natural population of C. sequinii in the Dabie Mountain region was investigated using microsatellite markers. Nine prescreened microsatellite loci generated 29–33 alleles each, and were used for spatial autocorrelation analysis. Based on Moran’s I coefficient, a panmictic population of C. sequinii in the Dabie Mountain region was found to be lacking a spatial genetic structure. These results suggest that a high pollen-mediated gene flow among subpopulations counteract genetic drift and/or genetic differentiation and plays an important role in maintaining a random and panmictic population structure in C. sequinii populations. Further, a spatial genetic structure was detected in each subpopulation’s scale (0.228 km), with all three subpopulations showing significant fine-scale structure. The genetic variation was found to be nonrandomly distributed within 61 m in each subpopulation (Moran’s I positive values). Although Moran’s I values varied among the different subpopulations, Moran’s I in all the three subpopulations reached the expected values with an increase in distances, suggesting a generally patchy distribution in the subpopulations. The fine-scale structure seems to reflect restricted seed dispersal and microenvironment selection in C. sequinii. The global distribution of the toxic cyanobacterium Cylindrospermopsis raciborskii has recently increased, and it has now been identified in tropical, subtropical and temperate freshwater bodies. The mechanisms underlying its success and expansion are still unknown. Several hypotheses have been proposed, including climate change, natural selection and physiological tolerance to different environmental conditions. In this study, we determined the phenotypic and genotypic characteristics of two recently isolated South American strains of C. raciborskii obtained from Uruguay. We analyzed the morphology, growth preferences, tolerance to low temperature (14 °C) and toxin production of the strains and performed phylogenetic analyses based on the ITS and nifH gene sequences. Both isolates showed significantly different morphology and growth behavior under different light intensities and phosphate supply. When genetic differences were assessed by BOX PCR, cluster analyses revealed that they could also be distinguished genotypically and were clearly distinct from C. raciborskii isolated from other continents. Phylogenetic analysis showed that the Uruguayan strains were closely affiliated to other C. raciborskii isolated from the Americas, especially to those from Brazil. Similar to previous studies, we found three solid clusters (Africa-Australia, Europe and America) according to the geographical origin of the isolates. Interestingly, based on nifH sequences, subclusters were identified in American populations indicating an early spread of the species within the continent. We propose that phenotypic and genetic variability of C. raciborskii populations is linked to the existence of different ecotypes whose success is subject to the local environmental conditions.  相似文献

Cylindrospermopsis raciborskii is a toxic bloom forming cyanobacteria that is a common component of the phytoplankton assemblage in temperate freshwaters, as well as in temperate climates. This species is of major concern in public health, due to its known ability to produce toxins, including cylindrospermopsin and paralytic shellfish poisoning toxin (PSP).In this study, M13 PCR fingerprinting, ERIC PCR fingerprinting and amplification of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region were used to characterize nine cultured strains of C. raciborskii, sourced from several freshwater lakes and rivers in Portugal, and two other Australian. Strains belonging to other taxa including Microcystis aeruginosa, Aphanizomenon spp., Planktothrix agardhii and Oscillatoria neglecta were also analysed to evaluate the taxonomical potential of the fingerprinting methods.Data obtained from genomic fingerprinting were used to perform hierarchical cluster analysis and demonstrated ability to differentiate strains at intra-specific level. However, the high level of variability prevents their use as an identification tool. ITS amplification displayed intra-specific polymorphism both in number and length of the obtained amplicons, but revealed itself as a good method for strain clustering. The unsuccessful amplification of peptide synthetase (PS) and polyketide synthase (PKS) genes pointed to the inability of Portuguese C. raciborskii strains to produce cylindrospermopsin. HPLC analysis further confirmed this lack of toxicity, since negative results were obtained for cylindrospermopsin and PSP toxins.  相似文献

The invasive cyanobacterium Cylindrospermopsis raciborskii is increasingly spreading in temperate freshwater habitats worldwide and is of major concern due to its ability to produce potent toxins. It is, therefore, important to understand the mechanisms behind the dispersal of this species. Different hypotheses have been proposed to explain the phylogeography and mechanisms underlying the recent expansion of C. raciborskii into temperate latitudes, but there is still no conclusive evidence whether the obvious ecological success of C. raciborskii is due to selection mechanisms, physiological tolerance, climatic change or radiation after the last ice age. In the present study, new isolates of C. raciborskii from Europe and Africa were genetically characterised by sequencing the ITS1, PC-IGS, nifH and rpoC1 genes and compared to corresponding sequences of C. raciborskii available in GenBank in order to test different phylogeographical hypotheses. The strains were also morphologically examined and screened for production of the hepatotoxic cylindrospermopsin (CYN). We clearly demonstrate a variation among the populations of C. raciborskii from different geographical regions. The phylogenetic analyses revealed a clustering of the strains due to geographic origin. The ITS1 and nifH genes separated into American, European and Australian–African groups, whereas the PC-IGS and rpoC1 separated into American and European/Australian/African groups. An analysis of concatenated data supported the division into American, European and African/Australian groups, and even indicated a subdivision into an African and an Australian group. Our findings do not strongly support any of the existing hypotheses on the phylogeography of C. raciborskii, and most likely a combination of these hypotheses is the best approach to understand the evolution and dispersal of this species.  相似文献

The freshwater cyanobacterium Cylindrospermopsis raciborskii spreads from tropical to temperate regions worldwide. This entails acclimation to varied light and temperature conditions. We studied the thermal and light acclimation of the photosynthetic machinery of C. raciborskii by monitoring alteration of the chlorophyll a and carotenoid content in German strains of C. raciborskii, in African and Australian strains of C. raciborskii, and in German strains of Aphanizomenon gracile, a native cyanobacterium belonging to the same order (Nostocales). Our results showed that temperate and tropical C. raciborskii strains did not differ in pigment acclimation to light and temperature. In contrast, the ratio of photoprotective carotenoids (namely the carotenoid glycoside 4-hydroxymyxol glycoside [aphanizophyll]) to chlorophyll a increased significantly more in C. raciborskii in comparison with A. gracile (1) with decreasing temperatures from 20 to 10°C and a moderate light intensity of 80?µmol photons m?2?s?1 and (2) with increasing light intensities at a suboptimal temperature of 15°C, compared to 20°C. We conclude that below 20°C photoinhibition is avoided by greater photoprotection in the invasive species C. raciborskii compared to the native species A. gracile.  相似文献

Continental island systems harbour relict biota and populations that might have migrated during glacial periods due to the formation of landbridges. Here we analysed the genetic structure of relict populations of the temperate plant Shortia rotundifolia on the subtropical island of Iriomotejima, Japan. This plant, which inhabits riparian environments, is designated “near threatened”. Only five extant populations have been found on the island. Our analyses of 10 nuclear microsatellite loci detected genetic diversity of H E = 0.488 and H O = 0.358 for all populations of S. rotundifolia on the island. A high inbreeding coefficient for all populations together (F IS = 0.316) and each population separately (F IS = 0.258–0.497) might be attributable to crossing among closely related descendants within a population, an idea that is supported by the relatedness coefficient. These results and an examination of the populations’ demographic histories suggest that the extant populations on Iriomotejima have not experienced a recent population bottleneck. The five extant populations were genetically differentiated (F ST = 0.283; < 0.001), suggesting low seed dispersal by gravity and/or low pollen flow via pollinators in the riparian environment. In addition, population differentiation was not related to genetic distance, implying that at one time, ancestral populations might have been distributed over a wider area of the island. However, population fragmentation and range contraction might have occurred at random during the postglacial period.  相似文献

A dramatic increase in the breeding population of geese has occurred over the past few decades at Svalbard. This may strongly impact the fragile ecosystems of the Arctic tundra because many of the ultra-oligotrophic freshwater systems experience enrichment from goose feces. We surveyed 21 shallow tundra ponds along a gradient of nutrient enrichment based on exposure to geese. Concentrations of total phosphorus (P) and dissolved inorganic nitrogen (DIN) in the tundra ponds ranged from 2–76 to 2–23 μg l−1 respectively, yet there was no significant increase in phytoplankton biomass (measured as chlorophyll a; range: 0.6–7.3 μg l−1) along the nutrient gradient. This lack of response may be the result of the trophic structure of these ecosystems, which consists of only a two-trophic level food chain with high biomasses of the efficient zooplankton grazer Daphnia in the absence of fish and scarcity of invertebrate predators. Our results indicate that this may cause a highly efficient grazing control of phytoplankton in all ponds, supported by the fact that large fractions of the nutrient pools were bound in zooplankton biomass. The median percentage of Daphnia–N and Daphnia–P content to particulate (sestonic) N and P was 338 and 3009%, respectively, which is extremely high compared to temperate lakes. Our data suggest that Daphnia in shallow arctic ponds is heavily subsidized by major inputs of energy from other food sources (bacteria, benthic biofilm), which may be crucial to the persistence of strong top–down control of pelagic algae by Daphnia.  相似文献

Eight microsatellite loci of Calystegia soldanella useful for comparisons of the genetic structure of isolated populations in the ancient Lake Biwa and coastal populations in Japan were isolated and characterised. The number of alleles ranged from 2 to 5. The expected (H E) and observed (H O) heterozygosities were 0.097–0.583 and 0.000–0.380, respectively, from 100 individuals from Lake Biwa and coastal populations. Seven of the eight loci exhibited significantly fewer heterozygotes than expected based on the Hardy–Weinberg equilibrium (< 0.05). These primers amplifying microsatellites in C. soldanella may provide a population genetics tool useful in the establishment of a conservation strategy.  相似文献

This article presents the distribution and status of bustards, which are listed as first-category protected animals according to the survey results during 1990–2002 in China. The Chinese populations of Otis tarda dybowskii are breeding in south-west of Heilongjiang Province, western Jilin Province, east and middle Inner Mongolia, north Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and Gansu Province. A few can winter in the south breeding-range. Its winter-range lies from the south to the Yellow River, as far as to Guizhou Province and Jiangxi Province. Its population number is about 200–300 or 500–800. The Chinese populations of O. t. tarda are breeding in the north and west of Xinjiang. It is unclear about its winter-range, which is presumed to be in south Asia. Recently we found individuals wintering in Chabuchaer and west Xinjiang. The population number is about 2000–3000. The habitat in breeding range includes steppe, grassland, desert grassland, and farmland. The habitat in winter range is the beach of rivers and lakes, meadows, meadow-grassland, and wheatland. The Chinese populations of Chlamydotis undulata macqueeni are breeding in the fringe of the Jungar Basin, the banks of the Ulungur River, Balikun and south Turpan Basin in Xinjiang, west Inner Mongolia, and west Gansu. NortheastMulei in eastern Jungar Basin of Xinjiang is the main breeding-range in the world. The bird uses desert and desert grassland as its habitat. Its winter-range is west Asia and south Asia. Its population number is about 2000. The Chinese populations of Tetrax tetrax are breeding in north Xinjiang, and China is located on the east border of its breeding-range. Its habitat is grassland and semi-desert, and its winter-range lies in south Asia. Its population in China is very scarce. Benthic algal communities can play an important role in matter and energy flux of shallow lakes. Their contribution to total primary production of lakes has been largely unexplored. The aim of this study was to estimate the primary production of the epipsammic algal communities at different water depths in Lake Balaton (Hungary) with photosynthetic measurements performed in laboratory. The photosynthesis of the benthic algae of different origin was studied at nine different irradiance levels, in three replicates. The maximum photosynthetic rate (P max) was always higher in samples from the shallow parts than those from the deeper regions of the lake. Along the west–east longitudinal axis of the lake P max decreased in the southern part and increased in the middle of the lake as a consequence of differences in the chlorophyll-a concentrations. Knowing P max, I k, global radiation and extinction coefficient, the primary production (mg C m−2 day−1) of the epipsammic algal community was calculated at different water depths. In the shallow regions at 0.5 and 1 m water depth 75–95% and 60–85% of the production was attributable to the epipsammon. The percentage contribution of epipsammon was at 2 m water depth 20–65%. In the deeper pelagic region (>3 m) more than 85% of the primary production originated from the phytoplankton.  相似文献

Dreissena polymorpha population densities and biomass were followed in three Belarusian lakes with different trophic status over a 12-year period subsequent to initial colonization. In all three lakes zebra mussel population densities did not change once they reached a maximum. Application of the Ramcharan et al. [1992. Canadian Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences 49: 2611–2620] model for predicting population dynamics of zebra mussels was accurate for two of the three lakes studied. Population density appears to depend on the time since initial colonization, relative abundance of substrate available for colonization, lake morphometry and trophic type. Zebra mussel distribution within lakes was highly patchy, but the degree of dispersion decreased over time after initial colonization, which may be a result of saturation of suitable substrates by zebra mussels as populations increase and reach carrying capacity. In lakes where submerged macrophytes are the dominant substrate for zebra mussel attachment, populations may be less stable than in lakes with a variety of substrates, which will have a more balanced age distribution, and be less impacted by year to year variation in recruitment. Dreissena polymorpha usually reach maximum population density 7–12 years after initial introduction. However, the timing of initial introduction is often very difficult to determine. Both European and North American data suggest that zebra mussels reach maximum density in about 2–3 years after populations are large enough to be detected.  相似文献

The aim of this research was to test whether NH4 + and NO3 affect the growth, P demand, cell composition and N2 fixation of Cylindrospermopsis raciborskii under P limitation. Experiments were carried out in P-limited (200 μg l−1 PO4-P) chemostat cultures of C. raciborskii using an inflowing medium containing either 4,000 μg l−1 NH4-N, 4,000 μg l−1 NO3-N or no combined N. The results showed the cellular N:P and C:P ratios of C. raciborskii decreased towards the Redfield ratio with increasing dilution rate (D) due to the alleviation of P limitation. The cellular C:N and carotenoids:chlorophyll-a ratios also decreased with D, predominantly as a result of an increase in the chlorophyll-a and N content. The NH4 + and NO3 supply reduced the P maintenance cell quota of C. raciborskii. Consequently, the biomass yield of the N2-grown culture was significantly lower. The maximum specific growth rate of N2-grown culture was also the lowest observed. It is suggested that these differences in growth parameters were caused by the P and energy requirement for heterocyte formation, nitrogenase synthesis and N2 fixation. N2 fixation was partially inhibited by NO3 and completely inhibited by NH4 +. It was probably repressed through the high N content of cells at high dissolved N concentrations. These results indicate that C. raciborskii is able to grow faster and maintain a higher biomass under P limitation where a sufficient supply of NH4 + or NO3 is maintained. In this paper, we studied the effect of saliva on the rheological properties of β-lactoglobulin- and lysozyme-stabilized emulsions, prepared at pH = 6.7 in relation to variation of emulsions- and saliva-related parameters. The effect of oil–volume fraction (2.5% w/w to 10% w/w), salivary protein concentration (0.1 to 0.8 mg ml−1), and the use of both stimulated and unstimulated saliva was investigated. Viscosity and storage modulus were measured before (η emul and Gemul, respectively) and after addition of saliva (η mix and Gmix). To better estimate the changes due to saliva-induced flocculation of the emulsions, the ratios η mix/η emul, Gmix/Gemul were calculated. In addition, tan δ (=the ratio of the loss and storage moduli) was investigated to evaluate the viscoelastic behavior of the emulsion/saliva mixtures. Increasing the oil–volume fraction and salivary protein concentration resulted in an increase in η mix/η emul and Gmix/Gemul, while a decrease in tan δ of the emulsion/saliva mixtures is occurring. When compared with unstimulated saliva, mixing β-lactoglobulin-stabilized emulsions with stimulated saliva led to a reduction in η mix/η emul and Gmix/Gemul, and an augment of tan δ at all measured deformations. In case of lysozyme-stabilized emulsions, the use of stimulated saliva increased Gmix/Gemul for γ < 3 when compared to unstimulated saliva. The effect of stimulated saliva on the η mix/η emul and tan δ in this mixture is similar to that of unstimulated saliva. These results indicate that the influence of stimulated saliva on the rheological parameters of emulsion/saliva mixtures largely depends on the type of emulsions. To conclude, our findings demonstrate that the rheological behavior of emulsions upon mixing with saliva is greatly affected by both saliva and emulsion properties.  相似文献

Ten microsatellite loci were isolated and characterized for Shortia rotundifolia, a relict temperate plant on the subtropical Ryukyu Islands and Taiwan. The number of alleles ranged from 2 to 21. The expected (H E) and observed (H O) heterozygosities were 0.027–0.877 and 0.027–0.622, respectively, from 74 individuals on Iriomotejima Island of Ryukyus. One locus exhibited significantly fewer heterozygotes than expected under Hardy–Weinberg equilibrium (< 0.05). These primers amplifying microsatellites in this species may provide a useful tool for population genetics to establish conservation strategy.  相似文献
