用石蜡切片法在显微镜下观察白蜡虫[Ericerus pela(Chavannes)]7种寄主植物叶的解剖结构。结果表明,寄主植物的叶脉、表皮、栅栏组织、海绵组织、维管束解剖结构及数量性状特征在属、种间存在显著差异。7种寄主植物中,华南小蜡(Ligustrum calleryanum Decne.)和白蜡树(Fraxinus chinensis Roxb.)表皮被毛,华南小蜡表皮毛浓密,白蜡树表皮毛稀疏,其它寄主植物表皮无毛;女贞树(Ligustrum lucidum Ait.)栅栏组织、海绵组织和叶脉的厚度最厚、维管束直径最大,其它寄主植物相对较小。因此,叶片表面光滑、叶脉发达、叶片肥厚是白蜡虫优良寄主植物的重要解剖学特征。7种寄主植物中脉和侧脉发达,近轴面凹陷,远轴面突起,肉脉包埋在叶肉中,推测叶脉突起和凹槽可能是白蜡虫固定位点选择的关键线索。  相似文献

为了探讨外来植物无瓣海桑的潜在危害,采用石蜡切片法对海桑(Sonneratia caseolaris Engl.)、无瓣海桑(S.apetala B.Ham)叶片进行了解剖学研究。实验结果显示,两种植物的叶片均为等面叶;中脉维管束为周韧维管束;具4级侧脉,第1级侧脉为半周韧维管束;成熟叶片叶肉组织具发达的贮水薄壁细胞,具含单宁成分的薄壁细胞,具晶体细胞和石细胞;盐腺由表皮细胞发育而成,可分为3个发育阶段。作为外来植物的无瓣海桑,其中脉维管束具微弱形成层,叶脉维管组织比海桑更发达;贮藏组织中含单宁细胞、晶体细胞较多;栅栏组织含叶绿体多于海桑等特点,使其比海桑对环境具有更大的适应性。因此,无瓣海桑有可能成为入侵植物。  相似文献

A new species of Malvaceae, Firmiana calcarea C. F. Liang & S. L. Mo ex Y. S. Huang, is described and illustrated. The new species is similar to F. hainanensis Kosterm., but differs from it by the following characteristics: shrubs, leaf cordate or ovate, entire or 3‐lobed, leaf thinly stellate‐puberulent adaxially, lateral veins 2–4 on each side of midrib, flowers pale‐rose, follicle glabrous, and seeds 2–4 in each follicle. It has been found only in Longgang National Nature Reserve, Longzhou County, southwestern Guangxi, China.  相似文献

While drying, detached leaves produced ultrasound acoustic emissions (UAE) comparable to emissions from stem and twig wood. Experiments on Ilex aquifolium L. showed that the main source of these signals was cavitation in the veins, to which conduits and fibres probably both contributed. Regions of the leaf blade with abundant mesophyll and only small veins emitted few signals. More signals were counted on the adaxial side of the midrib than on the abaxial one and on the proximal third than on the distal one, in accordance with the anatomical structure. Sound attenuation was pronounced. Eight species were compared with respect to cavitation behaviour, field water relations and pressure–volume curves, and the data showed differences in cumulative number of events and resistance of leaves to cavitation. Data were generally in good agreement with anatomical structure and habitat preferences. The number of signals per conduit counted on cross-sections was in some leaves much higher than unity, which suggests short xylem elements or an acoustic activity of cells other than conduits. There was no correlation between cavitation threshold or cumulative number of signals and the degree of sclerophylly; unexpectedly, there was a correlation between the cumulative number of signals at a water potential of -1.3 MPa and the bulk modulus of elasticity.  相似文献

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Prunus, subgenus Padus, exhibits two completely different calcium oxalate crystal macropatterns in mature leaves. Foliar macropattern development has been described previously in P. virginiana, representing one version. Prunus serotina, in the group exhibiting the second macropattern, is described here. The goal was to describe developmental details for comparison with P. virginiana, and to extend the sparse current knowledge of crystal macropatterns. METHODS: Leaves at various developmental stages were removed from local trees and from herbarium specimens. Early leaf stages and freehand leaf and stem sections were mounted directly in aqueous glycerine; larger leaves were processed whole or in representative pieces in household bleach, dehydrated in alcohol/xylol, and mounted in Permount. Crystals were detected microscopically between crossed polarizers. KEY RESULTS: Bud scales have a dense druse population. Druses appear first at the stipule tip and proliferate basipetally but soon stop forming; growing stipules therefore have a declining density of druses. Druses appear at the tip of leaves <1 mm long, then proliferate basipetally in the midrib. Lamina druses appear in the distal marginal teeth of leaves 3 cm long; from here they proliferate basipetally and towards midrib along major veins. In about two-thirds-grown leaves (6-9 cm length) druses are all adaxial to veins of most orders; a shift occurs then to formation of prisms, which appear first abaxial to, then all around, veins. Mature leaves have virtually all prisms encrusting all major veins, more sparsely along smaller minor veins. Late season leaves form epitactic crystals on existing prismatics. CONCLUSIONS: The developing and mature macropattern of P. serotina is almost the reverse of the pattern described previously in P. virginiana, and shows that two closely related species can develop radically different modes of crystallization. The few detailed macropattern studies to date reveal striking variations that indicate a new level of organization that must be integrated with the anatomical, physiological and molecular approaches that have been dominant so far.  相似文献

Two new species of Gesneriaceae, Wentsaiboea tiandengensis Yan Liu & B. Pan and Wentsaiboea luochengensis Yan Liu & W. B. Xu from Karst caves in Guangxi, China are described and illustrated. Wentsaiboea tiandengensis resembles W. renifolia, but differs in the leaf blade being cordate or broadly ovate, the margin crenate or repand, with conspicuous pinnate veins 3–5 on each side, corolla throat constricted, corolla lobes ovate with apex acute, staminodes 3, and ovary broadly ovoid. Wentsaiboea luochengensis is similar to W. renifolia, but can be distinguished from the latter by the coriaceous leaf blade with 2–3 inconspicuous pinnate veins on each side, elliptic or broadly ovate to sub‐rotund in shape, with sub‐entire margin and attenuate to cuneate or sub‐rotund base, broadly ovate or sub‐rotund corolla lobes, rotund or obtuse apex, and 3 staminodes.  相似文献

Ovule-bearing leaves from the Paleozoic of North America assigned to Spermopteris and Phasmatocycas have been interpreted as primitive cycad megasporophylls. According to this hypothesis, Cycas megasporophylls were derived from a Spermopteris-like ancestor via Phasmatocycas and various other taeniopterid forms. This putative transformation entailed the phyletic shift of ovule attachment from the abaxial lamina surface of Spermopteris to the leaf midrib in Phasmatocyas. However, reexamination of the original Spermopteris specimens from the Lawrence Shale of Kansas has shown that the ovules are attached to the leaf midrib. Therefore, Spermopteris and Phasmatocyas differ only in a few details of lamina morphology. The apical cleft of the ovules of both forms is interpreted as an original feature rather than a preservational artifact; however, the abaxial flange is probably a result of compression of a terete midrib. Spermopteris is typified by sterile specimens of Taeniopteris coriacea from Europe, which are of uncertain affinity to the fertile leaves. Therefore, we propose that the ovule-bearing leaves now known as Spermopteris coriacea be named as a new species of Phasmatocycas (Phasmatocycas bridwellii sp. nov.). The new concept of Phasmatocyas is less cycad-like than previously thought, and the phylogenetic position of the genus is unclear.  相似文献

Summary Transverse sections of leaves of some aluminium-accumulating and nonaccumulating species of the cerrado vegetation of central Brazil were coloured using aluminon to identify the tissues where aluminium occurs or is deposited. None of the tissues of the nonaccumulating species showed evidence of high concentrations of Al. All of the aluminium accumulating species showed high concentrations of Al in all of the elements of the phloem of the midrib and the secondary veins and total absence of it in the vessel members, xylem fibres and the palisade parenchyma. Walls and contents of the collenchyma of the midrib, epidermal cells, guard cells of the stomata and spongy parenchyma showed evidence of high concentrations of Al in the accumulating species.  相似文献

The present paper details the anatomy of permineralized foliar specimens of Gigantonoclea guizhouensis Gu and Zhi (Gigantopteridales) from the Upper Permian of western Guizhou Province in southwest China. In addition to reticulate venation, these fossil leaves possess a number of interesting anatomical features including: multicellular spines on the midrib, hypodermal sclerenchyma ribs, U- or V-shaped xylem in the midrib and secondary veins, tracheids with various secondary wall thickening patterns, paracytic stomata on the abaxial surface, epidermal cells with sinuous anticlinal walls, and secretory cavities in the mesophyll. Based on anatomical features, a liane habit is suggested, and the systematic differences among Gigantonoclea guizhouensis, Gigantopteridium, and the North American taxon Delnortea are underscored.  相似文献

The Asian citrus psyllid (ACP), Diaphorina citri (Hemiptera: Psyllidae), is the primary vector of the phloem-limited bacterium Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (LAS) associated with huanglongbing (HLB, citrus greening), considered the world’s most serious disease of citrus. Stylet morphometrics of ACP nymphs and adults were studied in relation to citrus vein structure and to their putative (histologically verified) feeding sites on Valencia orange leaves. ACP nymphs preferred to settle and feed on the lower (abaxial) side of young leaves either on secondary veins or on the sides of the midrib, whereas adults preferred to settle and feed on the upper (adaxial) or lower secondary veins of young or old leaves. Early instar nymphs can reach and probe the phloem probably because the distance to the phloem is considerably shorter in younger than in mature leaves, and is shorter from the sides of the midrib compared to that from the center. Additionally, the thick-walled ‘fibrous ring’ (sclerenchyma) around the phloem, which may act as a barrier to ACP stylet penetration into the phloem, is more prominent in older than in younger leaves and in the center than on the sides of the midrib. The majority (80–90%) of the salivary sheath termini produced by ACP nymphs and adults that reached a vascular bundle were associated with the phloem, whereas only 10–20% were associated with xylem vessels. Ultrastructural studies on ACP stylets and LAS-infected leaves suggested that the width of the maxillary food canal in first instar nymphs is wide enough for LAS bacteria to traverse during food ingestion (and LAS acquisition). However, the width of the maxillary salivary canal in these nymphs may not be wide enough to accommodate LAS bacteria during salivation (and LAS inoculation) into host plants. This may explain the inability of early instar nymphs to transmit LAS/HLB in earlier reports.  相似文献

采用石蜡切片法对四川省龙苍沟国家森林公园内7种花楸属(Sorbus)植物的叶解剖特征进行研究,探究其结构特征与生境的相关性。结果显示:7种植物的叶片均为典型的背腹叶;叶片厚度介于108.16~208.21 μm,种间差异极显著(P<0.01);上表皮厚度均大于下表皮厚度,且复叶物种的下表皮细胞均有乳突;栅栏组织由1~2层细胞构成,仅多对西康花楸(S. prattii var. aestivalis)的栅海比(栅栏组织与海绵组织的厚度比)为1.93,其余6种植物的栅海比均小于1;中脉维管束均呈心型,为典型的外韧型维管束,种间中脉突起度存在极显著差异(P<0.01)。各解剖结构中,上、下表皮可塑性最大,在生境中具有较强的潜在适应能力;中脉可塑性最小,整体结构较为稳定。栅栏组织、海绵组织和中脉组织是7种植物中种间差异最大的解剖结构。叶解剖结构与生境因子的相关性分析表明,栅栏组织厚度、栅海比和紧密度与年降水量、最暖季降水和海拔正相关(P<0.05),与季节性温差负相关(P<0.05);中脉直径和突起度与季节性温差呈正相关(P<0.01),与年降水量、最暖季降水和海拔正相关负相关(P<0.05)。叶解剖结构性状的适应性变化,体现了7种花楸属植物在龙苍沟国家森林公园的生存策略。  相似文献

Blepharis (Acanthaceae) is an Afroasiatic genus comprising 129 species which occur in arid and semi-arid habitats. This is the only genus in the family which is reported to have some C(4) species. Blepharis ciliaris (L.) B. L. Burtt. is a semi-desert species with distribution in Iran, Oman, and Pakistan. Its form of photosynthesis was investigated by studying different organs. C(4)-type carbon isotope composition, the presence of atriplicoid type Kranz anatomy, and compartmentation of starch all indicate performance of C(4) photosynthesis in cotyledons, leaves, and the lamina part of bracts. A continuous layer of distinctive bundle sheath cells (Kranz cells) encircle the vascular bundles in cotyledons and the lateral vascular bundles in leaves. In older leaves, there is extensive development of ground tissue in the midrib and the Kranz tissue becomes interrupted on the abaxial side, and then becomes completely absent in the mature leaf base. Cotyledons have 5-6 layers, and leaves 2-3 layers, of spongy chlorenchyma beneath the veins near the adaxial side of the leaf, indicating bifacial organization of chlorenchyma. As the plant matures, bracts and spines develop and contribute to carbon assimilation through an unusual arrangement of Kranz anatomy which depends on morphology and exposure to light. Stems do not contribute to carbon assimilation, as they lack chlorenchyma tissue and Kranz anatomy. Analysis of C(4) acid decarboxylases by western blot indicates B. ciliaris is an NAD-malic enzyme type C(4) species, which is consistent with the Kranz cells having chloroplasts with well-developed grana and abundant mitochondria.  相似文献

为揭示不同居群狗尾草(Setaria viridis(L.)Beauv.)叶片解剖特征的差异,了解不同生境下叶片形态的变异,本研究以江苏15个狗尾草居群为材料,采用石蜡切片法和改良的叶表皮制备方法对叶表皮及叶片横切面结构特征进行了显微观察和测定,并通过变异系数、主成分分析和聚类分析对叶表皮及叶片横切面的主要性状进行分析。结果表明,不同居群狗尾草的17个表型性状变异丰富,叶片中脉厚度和下表皮细胞厚度的变异程度较大;叶片厚度、平行脉维管束高度和宽度、叶中脉厚度、中脉维管束高度和宽度等指标是造成狗尾草不同居群表型差异的主要因素,同时这些结构特征也分别反映了狗尾草叶片的输导和支撑能力、表皮气孔器的特征和叶片抗逆能力。聚类分析结果显示,狗尾草的15个居群被划分为3类,且与生境分布基本吻合,即:水边和盐碱地居群、荒地居群、山地居群狗尾草的叶片厚度、维管束直径、泡状细胞厚度和气孔密度均依次增大,但气孔体积依次减小,表明这3个类群随海拔的升高抗旱性依次增强。本实验狗尾草叶片在不同生境中产生的不同程度变异分析对狗尾草的生态适应性研究具有重要意义。  相似文献

The resupinate leaves of 16 species of Alstroemeriaceae were examined using light- and scanning electron microscopy. The leaf anatomy is described for all of the species, that of the petiole and stem for selected species. The mesophyll consists of chlorenchyma and includes idioblasts that contain raphides. Dorsiventral, isolateral or isobilateral leaf types were observed. Petioles are always isolateral. Two epidermal types are commonly observed: type I contains jigsaw puzzle-like intercostal cells and longitudinally elongated cells above the veins; type II contains only longitudinally elongated cells, usually longer, above the veins. Some species have an epidermis which differs from the main types. All species show adaptation to resupination by having an inverted anatomy. Due to the twist of the leaves, adaxial indicates the lower surface and abaxial the upper. Stomata are found on both surfaces. Palisade cells, when they occur, are always on the abaxial surface. Most species are mesomorphic in spite of the dry environments in which they grow; a few show xeromorphic features. The occurrence of extrafloral nectaries (EFNs) in Meliaceae has been reported for some genera, but little anatomical data are available. Therefore, to determine the distribution and structural aspects of EFNs, Cedrela fissilis Vell. leaves in different stages of development were collected, fixed, and processed for light and scanning electron microscopy. On the petiole, rachis and petiolule, EFNs were found to be arranged predominantly towards the abaxial surface, while their occurrence in leaflet blades was restricted to the abaxial surface of the major veins, noticeably on the midrib. Basal leaflets displayed few EFNs; however, we observed an increase towards the leaf's apex. The leaf can contain more than 300 inconspicuous EFNs, which show secretory activity throughout the leaf's life. Two EFN morphotypes were visible: flattened or elevated, both circular or slightly elliptical and similar in origin and tissue composition. The secretory tissue is embedded in the rachis cortex or in the major veins of the leaf blade and EFNs are not vascularized. The EFN secretory pole shows a uniseriate epidermis with compactly arranged cells and a thin cuticle; stomata and trichomes are absent. The observation of ant visits at these structures reinforces the assumption that EFNs mediate ant–plant interactions and play a protective role against herbivores throughout the life of a leaf.  相似文献

The foliar sclereids in 136 species representing 11 of the 12 genera of Magnoliaceae were studied and compared. Sclereids occur in four different cell assemblages within the leaf: diffuse idioblasts, mesophyll, dermal system, and the vein sheath including terminal elements. Tropical members tend to have the most highly sclerified leaves. In species of Manglietia the leaves have sclerified spongy mesophyll and either sclerified epidermis or hypodermis. In Talauma , sclerification affects the vein sheath and terminal cells of veinlets, with a specialized thick marginal vein in the Asian taxa but not in the American ones. Liriodendron and the magnolias native to the north temperate zone have only minimal sclerification, which usually is confined to the vein sheath of the midrib and the main lateral veins, and as idioblastic sclereids in the petiole and the midrib near the base of the blade. The two largest genera Magnolia and Michelia are heterogeneous and include species which vary as to their combinations of sclerified elements among the four possible types.  相似文献

Leaf morphology in four species of Desmos and three species of Dasymaschalon was comparatively studied using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) together with epidermal maceration and paraffin methods. The results showed that there were some remarkable foliar anatomical differences between Desmos and Dasymaschalon. In leaves of Desmos, some of the adaxial epidermal cells were enlarged into globose cells each containing one large cluster crystal, while other epidermal cells were normal without any crystal, and in abaxial epidermis each cell contained one smaller cluster crystal. The leaf structure was typically bifacial, and the mesophyll cells were differentiated into palisade tissue and spongy tissue. Oil cells were distributed in the second layer of palisade and the whole spongy tissue, and the number of oil cells per mm leaf width ranged from 4 to 6. The vascular tissue in the midrib was separated into bundles by parenchyma cells. In leaves of Dasymaschalon, all the adaxial epidermal cells contained one cluster crystal, and the crystal size was similar to that of thecrystals in abaxial epidermal cells. The leaf structure was more or less isobilateral. Oil cells were distributed only in the spongy tissue between the two layers of the palisade, and the number of oil cells per mm leaf width ranged from 2 to 3. The vascular tissue in the midrib formed a continuous circle. It is clear that the anatomical differences between Desmos and Dasymaschalon are remarkable, supporting the treatment of Desmos and Dasymaschalon as two independent genera.  相似文献

利用扫描电镜技术、叶片离析法和石蜡切片法研究了假鹰爪属Desmos 4种植物和皂帽花属Dasy-maschalon 3种植物叶片的形态结构。结果表明:假鹰爪属植物叶片近轴面表皮具大型球状含晶簇细胞和不含晶簇的表皮细胞两种类型,远轴面表皮细胞均具一较小的晶簇;叶肉组织明显分化为栅栏组织细胞和海绵组织细胞,油细胞分布于第2层的栅栏组织和海绵组织内,单位毫米叶宽油细胞数为4~6个;主脉维管组织被薄壁细胞分隔成束状。皂帽花属植物叶片近轴面表皮细胞形状相同,均具一晶簇,远轴面表皮细胞的晶簇和近轴面表皮细胞的晶簇相似;靠近上、下表皮的叶肉组织均分化为栅栏组织细胞,在两层栅栏组织细胞之间分化为一至几层海绵组织细胞,油细胞分布于海绵组织内,单位毫米叶宽油细胞数为2~3个;主脉维管组织形成连续的环状。由此可见两属叶的结构具有明显的差异,因而支持假鹰爪属和皂帽花属为两个独立属的观点。  相似文献
