Soils were sampled at three different sites within the Paulshoek area of the Leliefontein District in Namaqualand, South Africa. At one site the effect of heavy grazing on soil characteristics under shrubs and from open positions was compared to a more lightly grazed area. At this site a diverse shrub community was mostly replaced by a single species, Galenia africana, when overgrazed. In another area the effects of cultivation on soil properties was investigated. At the third site the effect of Galenia shrub size on soil properties was measured.Soils from the Paulshoek area of Namaqualand are generally infertile and very low in arbuscular mycorrhizal propagules. Patterns of nitrogen distribution at the landscape level are a result of nutrient enrichment associated with perennial shrubs. Arbuscular mycorrhizal infectivity, soil moisture and pH are also affected by shrubs. Only species capable of forming arbuscular mycorrhizas support populations of mycorrhizal propagules in their rhizosphere. Differences in plant available phosphorus under some shrubs indicate that processes associated with nutrient cycling are also affected by shrubs. Galenia tended to deplete soil moisture and increase soil pH more than other shrubs.Small stock production results in a depletion of soil nutrients at the landscape scale since larger areas of low nutrient soil develop when shrub density decreases following heavy grazing. Heavy grazing also affects soil properties indirectly through a change in shrub composition. Cultivation resulted in a decrease in soil nitrogen and organic matter, a loss which was still detectable after 20 years of fallow. Zones of nutrient enrichment and higher pH were found where Galenia established in the old field. When soil was sampled under different size Galenia shrubs a positive correlation was found between shrub diameter and nitrogen, available phosphorus and pH indicating that Galenia was capable of establishing patches in the soil with different properties rather than selecting such areas for establishment. Thus, Galenia is able to maintain soil patterns typical of Succulent Karoo although it also establishes conditions which probably ensure its success. Individual shrub species also affect soil differently with respect to some components such as mycorrhizas.  相似文献

In order to evaluate latitudinal differences in the relationship of phytoplankton biomass and diversity with environmental conditions in shallow lakes, we sampled 98 shallow lakes from three European regions: Denmark (DK), Belgium/The Netherlands (BNL) and southern Spain (SP). Phytoplankton biomass increased with total phosphorus (TP) concentrations and decreased with submerged macrophyte cover across the three regions. Generic richness was significantly negatively related to submerged macrophyte cover and related environmental variables. Zooplankton:phytoplankton biomass ratios were positively related to submerged macrophyte cover and negatively to phytoplankton generic richness in DK and BNL, suggesting that the low generic richness in lakes with submerged macrophytes was due to a higher zooplankton grazing pressure in these regions. In SP, phytoplankton generic richness was not influenced by zooplankton grazing pressure but related to conductivity. We observed no relationship between phytoplankton generic richness and TP concentration in any of the three regions. The three regions differed significantly with respect to mean local and regional generic richness, with BNL being more diverse than the other two regions. Our observations suggest that phytoplankton diversity in European shallow lakes is influenced by submerged macrophyte cover indirectly by modulating zooplankton grazing. This influence of submerged macrophytes and zooplankton grazing on phytoplankton diversity decreases from north to south.  相似文献

SUMMARY. 1. Microcrustaceans were sampled during September 1990 from three microhabitats (margins, stony riffles and gravel) at thirteen stream sites in mid-Wales.
2. Patterns in the distribution, abundance and community structure of microcrustacean taxa were related to stream chemistry, physiography, substratum composition and marginal habitat structure. Patterns of distribution between microhabitats were also assessed.
3. Chemical variables were the strongest correlates with microcrustacean parameters. Total numbers of microcrustaceans and harpacticoid copepods were reduced at sites with high aluminium concentrations, and ostracods were scarce or absent at the most acidic sites. In contrast, cyclopoid copepods were more abundant and species rich at low pH.
4. Microcrustacean communities were most species rich at sites with a high percentage cover of macrophytes on the substratum. Cladoceran species richness and abundance, and the abundance of several microcrustacean species, were also positively correlated with percentage macrophyte cover.
5. Three site groupings produced by TWINSPAN classification were primarily related to percentage macrophyte cover and marginal habitat structure, with chemistry and land use also of importance.
6. Total microcrustacean abundance was highest in margins, but of all the species, only the harpacticoid Bryocamptus cuspidatus showed a strong microhabitat preference.  相似文献

Human development of pond and lake shorelines may significantly impact native lacustrine biota including a variety of aquatic macroinvertebrate groups. In an effort to better understand the habitat associations and sensitivities of lacustrine damselflies (Odonata: Zygoptera), we sampled adults in littoral macrophyte habitat during two flight periods at 35 randomly selected pond and lake sites in southern Maine during 2000 and 2001. Data were also collected to help characterize water body, shoreline disturbance, and aquatic vegetation at each study site. Nonmetric multidimensional scaling was used for ordination of damselfly assemblages, and coordinates from the most stable solution were related to site variables using forward stepwise multiple regression. Our results suggest that the diversity and composition of damselfly assemblages is related to the abundance and richness of littoral zone macrophytes, extent of riparian disturbance, benthic substrate granularity, and lake productivity; all variables subject to anthropogenic degradation on excessively developed waterbodies. Additionally, we developed a Habitat Tolerance Index useful for distinguishing between relative habitat specialists and generalists from among a diverse assemblage of 19 lacustrine species. Finally, species-specific damselfly associations with multiple genera of floating and emergent macrophytes were assessed using both nonparametric correlation and multiplicative regression yielding significant relationships for 17 species, including two damselflies of global conservation concern (Enallagma laterale and E. pictum). We conclude that the protection of littoral and shoreline habitat integrity, with special emphasis on emergent and floating macrophytes, is critical to the conservation of lacustrine biodiversity.  相似文献

Abstract In the dry eucalypt forests of north‐eastern New South Wales, Australia, cattle grazing occurs at low intensities and is accompanied by frequent low‐intensity burning. This study investigated the combined effects of this management practice on the ground‐dwelling and arboreal (low vegetation) spider assemblages. Spiders were sampled at 49 sites representing a range of grazing intensities, using pitfall trapping, litter extraction and sweep sampling. A total of 237 spider morphospecies from 37 families were collected using this composite sampling strategy. The abundance, richness, composition and structure of spider assemblages in grazed and ungrazed forest sites were compared and related to a range of environmental variables. Spider assemblages responded to a range of environmental factors at the landscape, habitat and microhabitat scales. Forest type, spatial relationships and habitat variability at the site scale were more important in determining spider assemblages than localized low‐intensity grazing and burning. However, it is possible that a threshold intensity of grazing may exist, above which spiders respond to grazing and burning. Although low‐intensity grazing and burning may not affect spider assemblages below a threshold stocking rate, that stocking rate has yet to be established.  相似文献

Dynamics of submerged macrophyte populations in response to biomanipulation   总被引:7,自引:0,他引:7  
1. A 6‐year study (1992–97) of changes in submerged vegetation after biomanipulation was carried out in the eutrophicated Lake Finjasjön, Southern Sweden. Ten sites around the lake were revisited each year. At each site five samples of above‐ground biomass were taken at 10 cm water depth intervals. An investigation of the seed bank at the 10 sites, and a grazing experiment where birds and large fish were excluded was also conducted. 2. Between 1992 and 1996, in shallow areas (water depth < 3 m), vegetation cover increased from < 3 to 75% and above‐ground biomass from < 1 to 100 g DW m–2. Mean outer water depth increased from 0.3 to 2.5 m. Elodea canadensis and Myriophyllum spicatum accounted for > 95% of the increase in biomass and plant cover. The following year (1997), however, cover and above‐ground biomass decreased, mainly attributable to the total disappearance of E. canadensis. Secchi depth increased after biomanipulation until 1996, but decreased again in 1997. 3. Total and mean number of submerged species increased after biomanipulation, probably as a result of the improved light climate. However, after the initial increase in species number there was a decrease during the following years, possibly attributed to competition from the rapidly expanding E. canadensis and M. spicatum. The lack of increase in species number after the disappearance of E. canadensis in 1997 implies that other factors also affected species richness. 4. A viable seed bank was not necessary for a rapid recolonization of submerged macrophytes, nor did grazing by waterfowl or fish delay the re‐colonization of submerged macrophytes. 5. Submerged macrophytes are capable of rapid recolonization if conditions improve, even in large lakes such as Finjasjön (11 km2). Species that spread by fragments will increase rapidly and probably outcompete other species. 6. The results indicate that after the initial Secchi depth increase, probably caused by high zooplankton densities, submerged vegetation further improved the light climate. The decrease in macrophyte biomass in 1997 may have caused the observed increase in phosphorus and chlorophyll a, and the decrease in Secchi depth. We suggest that nutrient competition from periphyton, attached to the macrophytes, may be an important factor in limiting phytoplankton production, although other factors (e.g. zooplankton grazing) are also of importance, especially as triggers for the shift to a clear‐water state.  相似文献

为研究退牧还草对土壤纤毛虫群落特征的影响、退牧还草后土壤环境变化以及如何利用原生动物纤毛虫群落特征来评价退还效果的可行性,于2015年5月至2016年3月在甘肃省甘南藏族自治州玛曲县选取3个不同恢复年限的草地样点和1个未经过退牧还草对照样点,采用"非淹没培养皿法"、活体观察法和培养直接计数法对土壤纤毛虫的物种数和密度进行测定,同时测定了土壤温度、pH值、含水量、土壤孔隙度、速效钾、速效氮、速效磷、全氮、全钾、全磷和有机质含量,并分析了在生态逐渐恢复条件下,土壤纤毛虫群落特征与土壤环境因子间的相关性。研究共鉴定到纤毛虫95种,隶属9纲15目21科28属。研究发现,退牧还草样地与未退牧还草样地的土壤纤毛虫的物种分布存在明显差异:退牧还草后的3个样点间的物种相似性减小,群落组成复杂化,纤毛虫丰度、丰富度指数、均匀度指数和物种多样性指数增高。相关性分析结果表明,退牧还草后,对纤毛虫群落结构稳定性影响最主要的是土壤有机质、含水量和土壤全氮、全磷和全钾的含量,不同恢复年限样点的土壤纤毛虫群落组成差异较大。土壤纤毛虫群落对退牧还草生态恢复过程中土壤环境条件的变化有较好的响应。  相似文献

Fire has been an important management tool in the pastoral use of New Zealand tussock grasslands. The effects of a farm-scale pastoral fire and subsequent grazing by sheep on soil biochemical properties in tussock grasslands dominated by the narrow-leaved snow tussock (Chionochloa rigida ssp. rigida) were investigated, 1.5 and 2.5 years after the fire event, in 0-2 cm depth mineral soil at a site at 975 m altitude in Central Otago, New Zealand. The nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) concentrations of C. rigida leaves were also measured. Comparisons were made with soil and tussock leaves from an adjacent unburned site. At both samplings, values of total soil organic carbon (C), extractable C, microbial biomass C, and basal respiratory activity were, on average, 14%, 18%, 23%, and 40%, respectively, lower at the burned than at the unburned site. In contrast, microbial N values were roughly similar at both sites, while microbial P values were 42% higher at the burned site after 1.5 years. Phosphomonoesterase and phosphodiesterase activities were then also similar at both sites, whereas invertase activity was higher at the burned site. The greater availability of N and P at the burned site was confirmed by the higher concentrations of N and P in C. rigida leaves sampled 2 years after the fire. Ratios of microbial C:microbial N and microbial C:microbial P were significantly lower at both samplings at the burned site, and emphasise the importance of the soil microbial biomass in conserving N and P after pastoral burning in a grassland ecosystem.  相似文献

We determined phosphate uptake by calcareous sediments at two locations within a shallow lagoon in Bermuda that varied in trophic status, with one site being mesotrophic and the other being more eutrophic. Phosphate adsorption over a six hour period was significantly faster in sediments from the mesotrophic site. Uptake at both sites was significantly less than that reported for a similar experiment on calcareous sediments in an oligotrophic lagoon in the Bahamas. The difference in phosphorus adsorption between our sites did not appear to be related to sediment characteristics often cited as important, such as differences in surface area (as inferred from grain size distributions), total organic matter content, or iron content. However, the sediment total phosphorus contents were inversely related to phosphorus uptake at our sites in Bermuda, and at the previously studied Bahamas site.We hypothesize that phosphate uptake in these calcareous sediments is a multi-step process, as previously described for fluvial sediments or pure calcium carbonate solids, with rapid initial surface chemisorption followed by a slower incorporation into the carbonate solid-phase matrix. Accordingly, sediments already richer in solid phase phosphorus take up additional phosphate more slowly since the slower incorporation of surface-adsorbed phosphate into the carbonate matrix limits the rate of renewal of surface-reactive adsorption sites.Although carbonate sediments are a sink for phosphate, and thereby reduce the availability of phosphorus for benthic macrophytes and phytoplankton in the shallow overlying water, phosphate uptake by these sediments appears to decrease along a gradient from oligotrophic to eutrophic sites. If our result is general, it implies a positive feedback in phosphorus availability, with a proportionately greater percentage of phosphorus loading being biologically available longer as phosphorus loading increases. This pattern is supported by the significantly higher tissue phosphorus content of the seagrass,Thalassia testudinum, collected from the eutrophic inner bay site. Over time, this effect may tend to cause a shift from phosphorus to nitrogen limitation in some calcareous marine environments.  相似文献

Freshwater biodiversity is globally threatened and while most conservation efforts are focussed on natural and larger freshwater systems such as rivers and lakes, in many lowland agricultural landscapes artificial water bodies including ditches may be equally important as habitats for freshwater species. Ditches occur across the agricultural landscape but in particular, those associated with coastal and floodplain grazing marsh, have high conservation value. The importance of this habitat for rare and threatened species afforded priority status under the UK Biodiversity Action Plan is explored. The characteristics of ditches that have high conservation value are described and a set of targets against which such ditches can be assessed are presented. An analysis of the current condition of Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for the wider coastal and floodplain grazing marsh habitat demonstrates the range of pressures affecting these sites and highlights that alongside generic freshwater issues such as eutrophication and non-native species, these sites have a unique set of pressures associated with their ongoing management and the vulnerable location of many sites at the coast. Wider conservation strategies for freshwater biodiversity in lowland landscapes across Europe need to factor in the different management requirements of artificial habitats such as ditches alongside more ambitious restoration projects for natural waterbodies. In low lying coastal areas the threat of coastal squeeze for many important grazing marshes will require a strategic approach to allow upstream migration of important biodiversity.  相似文献

Question: What are the effects of grazing abandonment on the vegetation composition of Estonian coastal wetlands? Location: Vormsi Island and Silma Nature Reserve in western Estonia, Europe. Methods: Local knowledge and field reconnaissance were used to identify current and historical management levels of wetland sites within the west Estonian study area. Nine study sites, with varying management histories, were selected comprising an area of 287 ha. A total of 198 quadrats were taken from 43 distinct vegetation patches in five of the sites. TWINSPAN analysis was used to identify community type, and a phytosociological key was constructed for character taxa. This vegetation classification was then applied within a GIS‐based context to classify all the study sites, using a ground survey technique and 1:2000 scale air photos. Results: We identified 11 different brackish coastal wetland community types. Indicator species were defined with community characteristics for the seven main vegetation types readily recognisable in the field. Coastal wet grasslands were most extensive in grazed sites, or sites that had been more intensively grazed, while abandoned sites were largely composed of Phragmites australis stands, tall grassland, and scrub. Site variations based on vegetation composition were significantly correlated with past grazing intensity. Plant community types showed significant edaphic differences, with particularly low soil moisture and high conductivity and pH for open pioneer patches compared to other vegetation types. Conclusion: Abandonment of traditionally grazed coastal grasslands threatens their characteristic biodiversity. This study found that grazing abandonment reduced the extent of coastal wetland grasslands of particular conservation value. Nevertheless, plant species of conservation interest were found across the sequence of community types described. The study shows that grazing is an important factor influencing coastal wetland plant communities but suggests that vegetation distribution is affected by environmental variables, such as topography.  相似文献

We used a conjoint analysis to reveal the preferences of experts with respect to plant attributes under three different restoration scenarios (high‐level conservation, functional native vegetation, perennial native pasture) and to generate prioritized lists for restoration of grassy woodland species. Nineteen experts participated in the conjoint analysis. The sample comprised researchers and practitioners with local knowledge of grassy ecosystems. The survey involved repeated pairwise ranking of the relevance of attributes of seven ecological criteria. The relative weightings of the attributes were then used to generate the 50 top‐ranked species for each of the three scenarios. Overall phosphorus tolerance was considered the most important criterion, followed by grazing tolerance. Species favoured for high‐level conservation management included nutrient‐ and grazing‐intolerant plants with narrower distributions and some species of threatened status. The two scenarios with histories of fertilization and varying levels of ongoing grazing were most similar in that their lists were dominated by graminoids and did not contain any shrubs or geophytes. The ranking of species provides an initial list that could be tailored to take into account specific site conditions and additional knowledge of species. This approach to the selection of species shows promise as either a repeatable process to select species for particular sites, or to generate a classification of species that could be used generically for a small number of common situations.  相似文献

通过选取大兴安岭岭北部的兴安落叶松林重度、轻度火烧迹地以及为过火样地,运用磷脂脂肪酸分析方法(PLFAs),研究了火烧对0~5和5~10 cm土层的土壤理化性质和土壤微生物群落的结构特征的影响,并探讨了火烧当年土壤微生物群落生物量和群落结构的变化规律与影响因素。研究结果表明:0~5和5~10 cm土层的土壤pH、全钾、有效磷、黏砂比等土壤理化指标受到了火烧的显著性影响;不同火烧程度对微生物类群的生物量有影响,但不显著;重度火烧迹地的土壤微生物的群落结构指标革兰氏阳性菌/革兰氏阴性菌(G+/G-)以及真菌/细菌(F/B)与轻度和未过火样地具有显著差异。RDA分析指出,G+/G-受土壤含水量影响最大,F/B受pH影响最大。说明在火烧迹地的当年,土壤水分和pH是影响土壤微生物群落结构的最重要因素。  相似文献

The Great Ouse estuary in southern England is a macrotidal estuary with rather coarse sediment. Two intertidal sites were sampled five times over the year at low tide. The sediments are suboxic, organic poor (approximately 1.5% organic carbon). They are composed mainly of detrital quartz and feldspar with some calcite. At both sites the total phosphorus in the sediments ranges from 0.03 – 0.12% dry weight and total iron from 0.42–1.22% dry weight. Of the total phosphorus 20% is organic and 80% is inorganic of which 10% is water extractable. Total iron and phosphorus correlate well and the ratio of iron:phosphorus is 8.4 which is similar to that found when phosphorus is adsorbed by iron oxyhydroxides, suggesting that iron oxyhydroxides are an important substrate for phosphorus sorption in these sediments. Fluxes of phosphorus from the sediment to the overlying water, measured in cores incubated in the laboratory, are low and show no seasonality. The sodium concentration in the porewaters at both sites is variable suggesting that there is movement of water through the sediment to depths of at least 20 cm. This is borne out by variable phosphorus, iron and phosphorus concentrations in the porewaters and ill defined redox zones in the sediments.  相似文献

1. In temperate regions, submerged macrophytes can hamper phytoplankton blooms. Such an effect could arise directly, for instance via allelopathy, or indirectly, via competition for nutrients or the positive interaction between submerged macrophytes and zooplankton grazing. However, there is some evidence that the positive interaction between submerged macrophytes and zooplankton grazing is less marked in warmer regions, where the interaction is less well studied, and that negative effects of higher water plants on phytoplankton biomass are weaker. 2. We carried out two consecutive mesocosm experiments in Uruguay (subtropical South America) to study the effects of two common submerged macrophytes from this region (Egeria densa and Potamogeton illinoensis) on phytoplankton biomass, in the absence of zooplankton grazing. We compared phytoplankton development between different macrophyte treatments (no macrophytes, artificial macrophytes, real Egeria and real Potamogeton). We used artificial macrophytes to differentiate between physical effects (i.e. shading, sedimentation and competition with periphyton) and biological effects (i.e. nutrient competition and allelopathy). 3. In Experiment 1, we found no evidence for physical effects of macrophytes on phytoplankton biomass, but both macrophyte species seemed to exert strong biological effects on phytoplankton biomass. Only Egeria affected phytoplankton community structure, particularly tempering the dominance of Scenedesmus. Nutrient addition assays revealed that only Egeria suppressed phytoplankton through nutrient competition. 4. We performed a second mesocosm experiment with the same design, but applying saturating nutrient conditions as a way of excluding the effects of competition for nutrients. This experiment showed that both macrophytes were still able to suppress phytoplankton through biological mechanisms, providing evidence for allelopathic effects. Our results indicate that both common macrophytes are able to keep phytoplankton biomass low, even in the absence of zooplankton grazing.  相似文献

动物牧食可以调节植物种间的相对竞争能力,从而改变物种在群落中的竞争地位.外来植物伊乐藻生长迅速、具有较强的光竞争能力,土著种苦草根系发达、具有较强的地下资源竞争能力.选择这两种各具竞争特色的沉水植物为模式生物,通过室外受控实验研究了螺类牧食对两种沉水植物种间关系的影响.结果表明:不管有无螺类牧食,伊乐藻的相对生长率为苦草的2~5倍,伊乐藻具有明显的竞争优势.苦草低密度种植时,螺类牧食与种间竞争对其生长没有显著影响;高密度种植时,螺类牧食活动促进了苦草的生长,种间竞争则使苦草的生长率明显降低.无论伊乐藻种植密度如何,螺类牧食均使其生长率明显降低,混栽高密度的苦草也能抑制伊乐藻生长.探讨了螺类牧食对沉水植物的种间竞争关系的作用机理.  相似文献

In recent decades, two of the main management tools used to stem biodiversity erosion have been biodiversity monitoring and the conservation of natural areas. However, socio-economic pressure means that it is not usually possible to preserve the entire landscape, and so the rational prioritisation of sites has become a crucial issue. In this context, and because floodplains are one of the most threatened ecosystems, we propose a statistical strategy for evaluating conservation value, and used it to prioritise 46 waterbodies in the Loire floodplain (France). We began by determining a synthetic conservation index of fish communities (Q) for each waterbody. This synthetic index includes a conservation status index, an origin index, a rarity index and a richness index. We divided the waterbodies into 6 clusters with distinct structures of the basic indices. One of these clusters, with high Q median value, indicated that 4 waterbodies are important for fish biodiversity conservation. Conversely, two clusters with low Q median values included 11 waterbodies where restoration is called for. The results picked out high connectivity levels and low abundance of aquatic vegetation as the two main environmental characteristics of waterbodies with high conservation value. In addition, assessing the biodiversity and conservation value of territories using our multi-index approach plus an a posteriori hierarchical classification methodology reveals two major interests: (i) a possible geographical extension and (ii) a multi-taxa adaptation.  相似文献

Owing to synchronous moult, most waterbird species are constrained by flightlessness and limited mobility for several weeks. As new feather production is energy demanding, these birds need to choose a safe moulting site with appropriate food supply. Up to 20,000 waterbirds carry out moult at Lake Constance, gathering at sites where they find food close to safe hiding places from predators and human-caused disturbance. In this study, we focused on the food supply at one prominent moulting site, Mettnau Südbucht, at Lower Lake Constance. We aimed to determine the food items and quantity as well as their utilization by summering and moulting waterbirds. We conducted experiments with exclosure cages which protected macrophytes from bird grazing and compared these sites with unprotected grazed sites. In these experiments, we found that the summering and moulting waterbird community, dominated by Eurasian Coots (Fulica atra Linnaeus), caused a significant decline of the macrophyte biomass at 1.5-m depth (MWL), where they were responsible for a loss of over 40% of the total charophyte biomass. No grazing effect was found at a greater depth (2-m MWL). The available food consisted mostly of Chara spp. with a biomass density of about 350 g m?2. Animal food items were negligible: Macroinvertebrates, mainly Asellus aquaticus Linnaeus, that were associated with the macrophytes, made up only 2% of total biomass, and were very unevenly distributed.  相似文献

气候变化和放牧活动对草地植物物种多样性和生产力具有重要影响。为探索藏北高寒草地植物物种多样性和生产力对增温、放牧及其交互作用的响应, 于2011年在藏北高原开始建立增温实验平台, 2016年起增设放牧、增温+放牧实验, 连续2年(2016-2017年)观测了植物群落特征、群落组成、生产力和物种多样性。结果表明, 增温和放牧对高寒草地植物高度和净初级生产力具有显著交互作用。在放牧条件下, 增温对植物高度无显著影响; 但在不放牧条件下, 增温却显著增加了植物高度。在放牧条件下, 增温对净初级生产力的影响存在年际差异, 2016年增温对生产力无显著影响, 2017年增温显著降低了植物净初级生产力; 但在不放牧条件下, 增温对植物净初级生产力无显著影响。增温和放牧对高寒草地植物物种丰富度、盖度、重要值及多样性均无显著交互作用。植物盖度在增温和放牧条件下显著降低, 杂类草物种比例显著增加, 但物种多样性均无显著变化。研究表明, 增温和放牧显著改变高寒草地群落结构。未来气候变化条件下, 放牧活动加剧有可能导致高寒草地生产力降低。  相似文献

A survey of grassy woodlands in the Queensland subtropics was conducted, recording herbaceous species richness at 212 sites on three properties (2756 ha). A range of habitats typical of cattle grazing enterprises was sampled and site variables included lithology, slope position, tree density, soil disturbance, soil enrichment and grazing. Results were compared with a previously published survey of temperate grasslands. Lithology, slope position and tree density had relatively minor effects on plant species richness, although in both surveys there was some evidence of lower species richness on the more fertile substrates. Soil disturbance and soil enrichment significantly reduced the richness of native species in both surveys, while exotic species were insensitive (subtropics) or increased (temperate) with disturbance. Rare native species were highly sensitive to disturbances, including grazing, in the temperate study. Although some trends were similar for rare species in the subtropics, the results were not significant and there were complex interactions between grazing, lithology and slope position. Grazing did not have a negative effect on native species richness, except in the closely grazed patches within pastures, and then only on the most intensively developed property. At the scale recorded (30 m2), the native pastures, roadsides and stock routes sampled in the subtropics appear to be among the most species‐rich grasslands ever reported, both nationally and globally. Native species richness was approximately 50% higher than the temperate survey figures across all the comparable habitats. While there are no clear reasons for this result, potential explanations are proposed.  相似文献
