A stenosing proliferation of the vascular wall was produced by exposing the Ramus descendens of the rat's left coronary artery to continued mechanical stimulation. Two weeks after the operation the hearts were perfused according to a modified Langendorff method, and the flow rate was measured under aerobic conditions and following short-time anoxia. Under either experimental conditions, the flow rate proved to be significantly decreased.  相似文献

The activity of energy metabolism has been studied in the experiment with white rats, which had been carried out nephrotomia with following use for suture such absorbable surgical threads as catgut plain, biofil (of dura mater spinalis of the cattle) and biofil modified with succinate. The research proves the use of catgut plain decreases of energy quotient and such polarographic index as the rate of phosphorylating respiration of mitochondria of the kidneys in postoperative period. The greater activity of energy metabolism during this period has been stated with the use of biofil. The use of biofil modified with succinate results in the activation of bioenergy processes.  相似文献

Neocortical island chronically isolated from surrounding cortical and subcortical structures with preserved pial blood supply has long been a model for research into the mechanisms of cortex functioning. To fully cut the cortex we improved the type of knife by using a retractable tungsten wire. The tip of a syringe needle was bent and cut away all but the beginning of the bend. In anesthetized rats the somatosensory cortex was exposed, the guide needle was lowered down to the desired depth into the cortex avoiding blood vessels. The wire then was pulled out through the curved needle tip until the tip of the wire touched the pia mater. The device was then raised, lowered, rotated to achieve complete separation of the cortical island from the surrounding tissues. The wire was retracted into the needle before withdrawal of the device. Analysis of neocortical slices 8 weeks later showed lesions of the white matter and transcortical cuts.  相似文献

The neurohistological investigation of a portion of the internal carotid artery removed in operation on the occasion of occlusion revealed afferent, cholinergic and adrenergic nerve elements randomly located in the examined area. The histochemical and electronmicroscopic investigation of the superior cervical sympathetic ganglion removed from 42 patient operated on the occasion of occlusion of the carotid artery revealed a depletion in the ganglia of synaptic active zones, focal absence of catecholamines and neurohistological materials suggests that a substantial role in the process of stenosing of vascular walls is played by sophisticated effects of innervation connections upon the vessel sheaths.  相似文献

Most arterial mechanics studies have focused on excised non-coronary vessels, with few studies validating the application of ex-vivo results to in-vivo conditions. A method was developed for testing the mechanical properties of intact left anterior descending coronary arteries under a variety of conditions. Vascular deformation and pressure were simultaneously measured with intravascular ultrasound and a pressure transducer guidewire, respectively. Results suggest the importance of understanding in-vivo factors such as myocardial support, vascular tone and local pressure fluctuations when applying ex-vivo coronary characterization data. With further development, this method can more accurately characterize the true in-vivo constitutive behavior in normal and atherosclerotic coronaries.  相似文献

A model is described which permits direct visualization of large coronary arteries in a supported modified perfused heart preparation, using a perfluorochemical (FC-43) as perfusate. Filling of a large coronary artery with Patent Blue Dye is recorded by gated photography (color arteriography). The technique is applicable to the study of reactivity (spasm) of coronary arteries in hearts of small and large animals (rats, rabbits, dogs). The technique has the following advantages: preservation of vascular endothelium, adequate oxygenation, avoidance of major surgical intervention to implant sensors for the detection of changes in coronary diameter, quantitative evaluation of time dependent changes in geometry of large coronary arteries and simultaneous measurement of large coronary vessel and total coronary vascular resistance.  相似文献

The exponential form of constitutive model is widely used in biomechanical studies of blood vessels. There are two main issues, however, with this model: 1) the curve fits of experimental data are not always satisfactory, and 2) the material parameters may be oversensitive. A new type of strain measure in a generalized Hooke's law for blood vessels was recently proposed by our group to address these issues. The new model has one nonlinear parameter and six linear parameters. In this study, the stress-strain equation is validated by fitting the model to experimental data of porcine coronary arteries. Material constants of left anterior descending artery and right coronary artery for the Hooke's law were computed with a separable nonlinear least-squares method with an excellent goodness of fit. A parameter sensitivity analysis shows that the stability of material constants is improved compared with the exponential model and a biphasic model. A boundary value problem was solved to demonstrate that the model prediction can match the measured arterial deformation under experimental loading conditions. The validated constitutive relation will serve as a basis for the solution of various boundary value problems of cardiovascular biomechanics.  相似文献
