This study evaluated the gender differences in response to intense exercise on lymphocyte hydrogen peroxide production, nitric oxide handling and mitochondrial superoxide dismutase (MnSOD) activity and gene expression. Fifteen males and nine females participated voluntarily in the study and performed a swimming session at 75-80% of the maximal capacity. In basal conditions females presented higher lymphocyte MnSOD activity compared to males (p<0.05). Exercise increased MnSOD activity in males (p<0.05) reaching similar values to females. MnSOD gene expression was also increased in males after exercise (p<0.05) but not in females. Nitrite concentration and iNOS gene expression significantly increased only in males after swimming (p<0.01). The exercise decreased UCP-3 gene expression in both genders (p<0.05). Lymphocyte H(2)O(2) production significantly increased in males after exercise in non-stimulated and in PMA-stimulated cells (p<0.01). In conclusion, females seem to be more protected against oxidative stress induced by a swimming session. Hydrogen peroxide is mainly produced in males and this subsequently leads to increases in MnSOD gene expression and activity.  相似文献

The effects of exhaustive exercise on the activity levels of catalase (EC 1.11.1.6) in various tissues of male and female Sprague—Dawley rats (Rattus norvegicus) were investigated. Both the male and female rats were subdivided into an experimental group and a control group consisting of eight rats each. One group of each sex was subjected to a swimming session of 1h (experimental group) while the other group of each sex served as sedentary control groups. The tissues investigated were liver, heart, kidney and lung. The activity levels of catalase in all the tissues investigated were significantly (P< 0.05) elevated in both male and female rats as a result of exercise. The average increase in the activity levels of catalase in the various tissues investigated for both male and female rats was 417% (males 404%; females 430%). The male and female rats exhibited comparable activity levels of catalase in all the tissues investigated. The higher activity levels of catalase as a result of exercise might be indicative of a compensatory measure to counteract the possible detrimental effects associated with oxidative stress.  相似文献

This study evaluates the consequences of a session of intensive short-duration exercise and Zn supplementation on different hematological variables. Forty male Wistar rats were divided into four groups (n=10): the first nonsupplemented, maintained at rest (R); the second nonsupplemented, undergoing exercise (E); the third supplemented with Zn, kept at rest (ZnR); and the fourth supplemented with Zn, undergoing exercise (ZnE). Zinc supplements (200 ppm) were given in drinking water. The exercise consisted of a single session of swimming until exhaustion. At rest, RBC, Hb, and Hto fell (p<0.05), whereas red cell indices, MCV, and MCH rose (p<0.05) in +ZnR compared with R; MCHC remained unchanged (ZnR vs R). After exercise, RBC, Hb, and Hto increased significantly in E and in ZnE compared with R and ZnR, respectively. In addition, RBC and Hb were lower (p<0.01) in ZnE compared with E; however, MCV and MCH were higher (p<0.05) in the group ZnE vs E. With respect to white blood cells—leukocytes (WBC), limphocytes (LYMPH), and neutrophiles (NEUT)—no significant differences were observed between groups at rest (ZnR vs R). WBC and LYMPH increased significantly in E with respect to the rest situation (E vs R), but this did not happen in supplemented animals (ZnE vs ZnR). Level of pH decreased after exercise both in E and in ZnE, but the fall was lower in the latter. We believe that a single session of swimming until exhaustion leads to an increase in RBC, Hb, and Hto without causing changes in MCV, MCH, and MCHC. On the other hand, Zn supplementation leads to an increase of MCV and MCH, although they remain within normal levels. Furthermore, this supplementation produces lower metabolic acidoses after exercise that leads to leukocyte stability.  相似文献

Mutations in the Leucine Reach Repeat Kinase 2 (LRRK2) gene are the most frequent cause of familial Parkinson’s disease (PD). Although the precise physiological and pathological roles of LRRK2 are unclear, a direct link between mutant LRRK2 and programmed cell death (apoptosis) has been suggested. By using flow cytometry (PI+Annexin V(FITC)), we showed an increased level of spontaneous lymphocyte apoptosis in patients with LRRK2-associated PD compared to controls after 24 h (p < 0.016) and 48 h (p < 0.031) of incubation (5% CO2, 37°C). We found an increased FAS mRNA level in peripheral blood lymphocytes of patients with LRRK2-associated PD compared to controls (p < 0.05) and to sporadic PD (sPD) (p < 0.002). A significant difference in FAS expression between patients with LRRK2-associated PD and controls remained after 3 years and was detected after 1 and 24 h during lymphocyte incubation (p < 0.03 and 0.05, respectively). Increased spontaneous lymphocyte apoptosis, along with increased FAS expression, in patients with LRRK2-associated PD suggests that LRRK2 mutations may lead to preferable activation of extrinsic apoptotic way.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to analyze the effects of intense exercise on brain redox status, associated with antioxidant supplementation of N-acetylcysteine (NAC), deferoxamine (DFX) or a combination of both. Seventy-two C57BL-6 adult male mice were randomly assigned to 8 groups: control, NAC, DFX, NAC plus DFX, exercise, exercise with NAC, exercise with DFX, and exercise with NAC plus DFX. They were given antioxidant supplementation, exercise training on a treadmill for 12 weeks, and sacrificed 48 h after the last exercise session. Training significantly increased (P < 0.05) soleus citrate synthase (CS) activity when compared to control. Blood lactate levels classified the exercise as intense. Exercise significantly increased (P < 0.05) oxidation of biomolecules and superoxide dismutase activity in striatum and hippocampus. Training significantly increased (P < 0.05) catalase activity in striatum. NAC and DFX supplementation significantly protected (P < 0.05) against oxidative damage. These results indicate intense exercise as oxidant and NAC and DFX as antioxidant to the hippocampus and the striatum.  相似文献

采用实验生态学方法,在室内水槽条件下研究了金乌贼(Sepia esculenta Hoyle,1885)繁殖过程中社群等级的形成对其行为表型和能量代谢的影响,分析测定了不同优势等级雌雄个体腕部肌肉和性腺组织中己糖激酶(Hexokinase, HK)、丙酮酸激酶(Pyruvate kinase, PK)、乳酸脱氢酶(Lactate dehydrogenase, LDH)、苹果酸脱氢酶(Malate dehydrogenase, MDH)、柠檬酸合酶(Citrate synthetase, CS)活性以及乳酸(Lactic acid, LD)含量。结果显示:(1)金乌贼繁殖期不同优势等级雌雄个体之间行为表型具有显著差异,优势雄性个体游动悬浮、争斗时间显著高于劣势个体,而优势雌性个体静止伏底时间高于劣势个体,游动悬浮时间低于劣势雌性;(2)优势雄性个体在争斗过程中主要通过无氧代谢提供能量,而处于游动悬浮状态时通过有氧代谢提供能量。主要表现在优势雄性个体肌肉中无氧代谢酶(PK、HK、LDH)活性显著高于劣势个体(P0.05),有氧代谢酶(MDH、CS)活性也显著高于劣势个体,雌性个体之间则差异不显著(P0.05);(3)繁殖期雌性个体通过减少运动量来储存能量用于产卵繁殖,主要表现在优势雌性个体肌肉中有氧代谢酶(MDH、CS)活性低于劣势个体,而在性腺中恰恰相反;(4)运动表型与能量代谢之间存在显著相关性,表现在游动悬浮时间与有氧代谢酶(MDH、CS)活性呈显著正相关(P0.001),争斗时间与无氧代谢酶(PK、HK、LDH)及乳酸(LD)含量呈显著正相关(P0.05)。结果表明,社群等级高的雄性个体运动能力强,具有较高的生存适应性。而社群等级高的雌性个体多处于静止状态,以便更好地储存能量用于繁殖。研究结果为金乌贼健康苗种培育以及规模化繁殖技术优化提供了理论依据。  相似文献

To investigate the activity of fermented deer antler on exercise endurance capacity, we evaluated endurance capacity in five-week-old male BALB/c mice by administering the fermented deer antler extract (FA) or the non-fermented deer antler extract (NFA) and then subjected the mice to exercise in the form of swimming. The mice administered 500?mg/kg/day of FA showed a significant increase in swimming time compared with mice administered placebo (16.55?min vs. 21.64?min, P?<?0.05). Serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), the marker of the liver and muscle damage, was significantly lower in FA groups. However, NFA groups did not show significantly different swimming time or serum LDH from that of the control group. Moreover, the FA-500 group had significantly higher hepatic superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity after forced swimming than the control and NFA groups (P?<?0.05). These findings suggest that fermentation may increase the exercise endurance capacity of the deer antler.  相似文献

Gastric cancer is the second most common cancer worldwide. The involvement of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the pathogenesis of gastric malignancies is well known. Many human tumours have shown significant changes in the activity and expression of superoxide dismutase (SOD), which might be correlated with clinical–pathological parameters for the prognosis of human carcinoma. The aim of this study is the detection of MnSOD and CuZnSOD activity and their expression in gastric adenocarcinoma and healthy tissues. Gastric samples (adenocarcinoma and healthy tissues) harvested during endoscopy or resected during surgery were used to determine MnSOD and CuZnSOD activity and expression by spectrophotometric and Western blotting assays. The total SOD activity was significantly higher (p<0.05) in healthy mucosa with respect to gastric adenocarcinomas. No differences were found in MnSOD activity and, on the contrary, CuZnSOD activity was significantly lower (p<0.001) in cancer samples with respect to normal mucosa. The rate of MnSOD/CuZnSOD activity in adenocarcinoma was over ninefold higher than that registered in healthy tissues (p<0.05). Moreover, in adenocarcinoma MnSOD activity represented the 83% of total SOD with respect to healthy tissues where the ratio was 52% (p<0.001). On the contrary, in cancer tissues, CuZnSOD activity accounted for only 17% of the total SOD (p<0.001 if compared with the values recorded in normal mucosa). After immunoblotting, MnSOD was more expressed in adenocarcinoma with respect to normal mucosa (p<0.001), while CuZnSOD was similarly expressed in adenocarcinoma and healthy tissues. The SOD activity assay might provide a specific and sensitive method of analysis that allows the differentiation of healthy tissue from tumour tissue. The MnSOD to CuZnSOD activity ratio, and the ratio between these two isoforms and total SOD, presented in this preliminary study might be considered in the identification of cancerous from healthy control tissue.  相似文献

To investigate the time-course of changes in transverse relaxation time (T2) and cross-sectional area (CSA) of the quadriceps muscle after a single session of eccentric exercise, magnetic resonance imaging was performed on six healthy male volunteers before and at 0, 7, 15, 20, 30 and 60 min and 12, 24, 36, 48, 72 and 168 h after exercise. Although there was almost no muscle soreness immediately after exercise, it started to increase 1 day after, peaking 1–2 days after the exercise (P<0.01). Immediately after exercise, T2 increased significantly in the rectus femoris, vastus lateralis and intermedius muscles (P<0.05) and decreased quickly continuing until 60 min after exercise. At and after the 12th h, a significant increase was perceived again in the T2 values of the vastus lateralis and intermedius muscles (P<0.01) [maximum 9.3 (SEM 2.8)% and 10.9 (SEM 2.2)%, respectively]. The maximal values were exhibited at 24–36 h after exercise. In contrast, the rectus femoris muscle showed no delayed-stage increase. Also, in CSA, an increase after 12 h was observed in addition to the one immediately after exercise in the vastus lateralis, intermedius and medialis and quadriceps muscles as a whole (P < 0.01), reaching the maximal values at 12–24 h after exercise. The plasma creative kinase activity remained unchanged up to 24 h after and then increased significantly 48 h after exercise (P < 0.05). Beginning 12 h after exercise, the subjects whose T2 and CSA increased less than the others displayed a faster decrease in muscle soreness. These results suggested that T2 and CSA displayed bimodal responses after eccentric exercise and the time-courses of changes in them were similar to those in muscle soreness.  相似文献

Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) plays a crucial role in cellular defence against oxidative stress by inducing the expression of multiple anti-oxidant genes. However, where high levels of oxidative stress are observed, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Nrf2 activity is reduced, although the molecular mechanism for this defect is uncertain. Here, we show that down-regulation of histone deacetylase (HDAC) 2 causes Nrf2 instability, resulting in reduced anti-oxidant gene expression and increase sensitivity to oxidative stress. Although Nrf2 protein was clearly stabilized after hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) stimulation in a bronchial epithelial cell line (BEAS2B), Nrf2 stability was decreased and Nrf2 acetylation increased in the presence of an HDAC inhibitor, trichostatin A (TSA). TSA also reduced Nrf2-regulated heme-oxygenase-1 (HO-1) expression in these cells, and this was confirmed in acute cigarette-smoke exposed mice in vivo. HDAC2 knock-down by RNA interference resulted in reduced H2O2-induced Nrf2 protein stability and activity in BEAS2B cells, whereas HDAC1 knockdown had no effect. Furthermore, monocyte-derived macrophages obtained from healthy volunteers (non-smokers and smokers) and COPD patients showed a significant correlation between HDAC2 expression and Nrf2 expression (r = 0.92, p < 0.0001). Thus, reduced HDAC2 activity in COPD may account for increased Nrf2 acetylation, reduced Nrf2 stability and impaired anti oxidant defences.  相似文献

We studied the population dynamics of free‐living ticks in the Tamaulipan Biotic Province in south Texas from March, 2005 to November, 2008. We collected 70,873 ticks using carbon dioxide traps. Amblyomma cajennense represented 93.6% of the ticks identified. A. cajennense is distributed from northern Argentina to south Texas in the Tamaulipan Biotic Province. Emergence of larval A. cajennense ticks was observed two to five weeks after significant rain events (p<0.0001) and had a strong negative correlation with temperature (p<0.0001). More larvae were observed under humid conditions (p<0.05). Fewer larvae were observed during windy and warmer conditions (p<0.05). This observation indicates high sensitivity of larvae to desiccating conditions. Peaks in nymphal activity were observed after peaks of larval emergence. Activity of nymphs was negatively correlated with temperature (p<0.05). Adult activity was negatively correlated with humidity (p<0.05) and negatively correlated with total rain from three to six weeks prior to observation (p<0.05). Adult A. cajennense are particularly tolerant to drier conditions relative to other closely related ticks. Adult female activity was positively correlated with temperature (p<0.05). Peaks in rain activity and a summer behavioral diapause appear to be the dominant factors controlling emergence of larvae, and by extension, the life cycle of A. cajennense in the Tamaulipan Biotic Province.  相似文献

Many studies have reported that pre-exercise ice slurry ingestion improves exercise performance; however, it may increase the risk of developing heat stroke. Some studies have suggested that pre-exercise ice slurry ingestion accelerates the core temperature increase that occurs during exercise. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate whether the ingestion of ice slurry before and during exercise can inhibit this acceleration. Moreover, we measured the deep-forehead temperature (Tdeep head) to determine whether ice slurry ingestion before and during exercise can maintain this reduction in brain temperature. Eleven male participants at room temperature (24 °C, 50% relative humidity [RH]) ingested 7.5 g/kg of ice slurry or a thermoneutral sports drink within 30 min. They then exercised for approximately 60 min at 50% of the maximal oxygen uptake in a hot environment (34 °C, 50% RH) while ingesting 1.25 g/kg of ice slurry or a thermoneutral sports drink every 10 min. Rectal temperature (Tre), Tdeep head, forehead skin temperature, mean skin temperature, heart rate, nude body mass, and urine specific gravity were measured as physiological indices. The rating of perceived exertion, thermal sensation, and thermal comfort were measured at 5-min intervals throughout the experiment. The Tre and Tdeep head during the second half of the exercise session were significantly reduced after ingestion of the ice slurry before and during exercise (p < 0.05). In addition, the rate of increase in Tre and Tdeep head slowed during the second half of the exercise session after the ingestion of the ice slurry before and during exercise (p < 0.05). These results indicate that the increases in Tre and Tdeep head, reflecting brain temperature in the second half of the exercise session, were significantly inhibited by ice slurry ingestion before and during exercise.  相似文献

Three experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of inorganic and organic Mn sources on MnSOD mRNA, protein and enzymatic activity and the possible signal pathways. The primary broiler myocardial cells were treated with MnCl2 (I) or one of organic chelates of Mn and amino acids with weak, moderate (M) or strong (S) chelation strength for 12 and 48 h. Cells were preincubated with superoxide radical anions scavenger N-acetylcysteine (NAC) or specific inhibitors for MAPKs and protein tyrosine kinase (PTK) or protein kinase C (PKC) for 30 min before treatments of I and M. The MnSOD mRNA, protein and enzymatic activity, phosphorylated MAPKs or protein kinases activations were examined. The results showed that additions of Mn increased (P < 0.05) MnSOD mRNA levels and M was more effective than I. Additions of Mn elevated (P < 0.05) MnSOD protein levels and enzymatic activities, and no differences were found among I and M. Addition of NAC did not decrease (P > 0.05) Mn-induced MnSOD mRNA and protein levels. None of the three MAPKs was phosphorylated (P > 0.05) by Mn. Additions of Mn decreased (P < 0.05) the PTK activities and increased (P < 0.05) the membrane PKC contents. Inhibitors for PTK or PKC decreased (P < 0.05) Mn-induced MnSOD protein levels. The results suggested that Mn-induced MnSOD mRNA and protein expressions be not related with NAC, and MAPK pathways might not involve in Mn-induced MnSOD mRNA expression. PKC and PTK mediated the Mn-induced MnSOD protein expression.  相似文献

BackgroundAn acute bout of exercise can improve endothelial function and insulin sensitivity when measured on the day following exercise. Our aim was to compare acute high-intensity continuous exercise (HICE) to high-intensity interval exercise (HIIE) on circulating endothelial microparticles (EMPs) and insulin sensitivity in overweight/obese men and women.MethodsInactive males (BMI = 30 ± 3, 25 ± 6 yr, n = 6) and females (BMI = 28 ± 2, 21 ± 3 yr, n = 7) participated in three experimental trials in a randomized counterbalanced crossover design: 1) No exercise control (Control); 2) HICE (20 min cycling @ just above ventilatory threshold); 3) HIIE (10 X 1-min @ ∼90% peak aerobic power). Exercise conditions were matched for external work and diet was controlled post-exercise. Fasting blood samples were obtained ∼18 hr after each condition. CD62E+ and CD31+/CD42b- EMPs were assessed by flow cytometry and insulin resistance (IR) was estimated by homeostasis model assessment (HOMA-IR).ResultsThere was a significant sex X exercise interaction for CD62E+ EMPs, CD31+/CD42b- EMPs, and HOMA-IR (all P<0.05). In males, both HICE and HIIE reduced EMPs compared to Control (P≤0.05). In females, HICE increased CD62E+ EMPs (P<0.05 vs. Control) whereas CD31+/CD42b- EMPs were unaltered by either exercise type. There was a significant increase in HOMA-IR in males but a decrease in females following HIIE compared to Control (P<0.05).ConclusionsOverweight/obese males and females appear to respond differently to acute bouts of high-intensity exercise. A single session of HICE and HIIE reduced circulating EMPs measured on the morning following exercise in males but in females CD62E+ EMPs were increased following HICE. Next day HOMA-IR paradoxically increased in males but was reduced in females following HIIE. Future research is needed to investigate mechanisms responsible for potential differential responses between males and females.  相似文献

Abstract

Our purpose was to characterize changes in paraoxonase 1 (PON1) activity and concentration after single aerobic exercise sessions conducted before and after 6 weeks of niacin therapy in men with metabolic syndrome (MetS). Twelve men with MetS expended 500 kcal by walking at 65% of VO2max before and after a 6-week regimen of niacin. Niacin doses were titrated by 500 mg/week from 500 to 1500 mg/day and maintained at 1500 mg/day for the last 4 weeks. Fasting blood samples were collected before and 24 hours after each exercise session and analyzed for PON1 activity, PON1 concentration, myeloperoxidase (MPO), apolipoprotein A1, oxidized low-density lipoprotein (oLDL), lipoprotein particle sizes and concentrations. PON1 activity, PON1 concentration, MPO, and oLDL were unaltered following the independent effects of exercise and niacin (P > 0.05 for all). High-density lipoprotein particle size decreased by 3% (P = 0.040) and concentrations of small very low-density lipoprotein increased (P = 0.016) following exercise. PON1 activity increased 6.1% (P = 0.037) and PON1 concentrations increased 11.3% (P = 0.015) with the combination of exercise and niacin. Exercise and niacin works synergistically to increase PON1 activity and concentration with little or no changes in lipoproteins or markers of lipid oxidation.  相似文献

Oxidative stress is an important component of diabetes and its complications. Manganese (Mn), the key component of the Mitochondrial antioxidant (MnSOD), plays a key role in the superoxide uncoupling protein 2 (UCP-2) pathway in inhibiting of glucose-stimulated insulin secretion (GSIS). The interactions of Mn with ascorbate and other components of this pathway have not been defined in type-2 diabetes. Fifty established type 2 diabetics (30 males, 20 females) and 30 non-diabetics (controls; 18 males, 12 females) matched for age and sex were investigated. Dietary intake, particularly of micronutrients as assessed by 24-h dietary recall was similar between diabetics and controls. Weight and height of all subjects were determined and body mass index (BMI) computed after clinical assessment. Fasting plasma glucose, manganese, ascorbic acid, creatinine and K+ levels were determined; K+ was to assess the K+ channels, whereas creatinine was to assess probability of oxidative stress nephropathy. Body mass index was greater in DM than in controls (p < 0.001). Fasting plasma glucose and Mn levels (p < 0.00 and p < 0.01, respectively) were higher in diabetes than in the controls. Manganese level was greater than twice the levels in controls. Ascorbic acid was not significantly different (p > 0.05), but was 50% lower than the level in non-diabetics. Potassium like Mn and glucose was significantly higher in diabetes mellitus (DM) than in controls (p < 0.001). Creatinine was not significantly different between diabetics and controls (p > 0.05). Correlations among all parameters were not significantly different. These findings suggest absence of significant oxidative stress in the mitochondria, probably excluding a role for UCP-2-superoxide pathway in the inhibition of glucose-stimulated insulin secretion (GSIS), calling for caution in the precocious conclusion that interruption of UCP-2 activity may provide a viable strategy to improve β-cell dysfunction in type 2 diabetes mellitus.  相似文献

Background:

Vascular growth is a prerequisite for adipose tissue (AT) development and expansion. Some AT cytokines and hormones have effects on vascular development, like vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF‐A), angiopoietin (ANG‐1), ANG‐2 and angiopoietin‐like protein‐4 (ANGPTL‐4).

Methods:

In this study, the independent and combined effects of diet‐induced weight loss and exercise on AT gene expression and proteins levels of those angiogenic factors were investigated. Seventy‐nine obese males and females were randomized to: 1. Exercise‐only (EXO; 12‐weeks exercise without diet‐restriction), 2. Hypocaloric diet (DIO; 8‐weeks very low energy diet (VLED) + 4‐weeks weight maintenance diet) and 3. Hypocaloric diet and exercise (DEX; 8‐weeks VLED + 4‐weeks weight maintenance diet combined with exercise throughout the 12 weeks). Blood samples and fat biopsies were taken before and after the intervention.

Results:

Weight loss was 3.5 kg in the EXO group and 12.3 kg in the DIO and DEX groups. VEGF‐A protein was non‐significantly reduced in the weight loss groups. ANG‐1 protein levels were significantly reduced 22‐25% after all three interventions (P < 0.01). The ANG‐1/ANG‐2 ratio was also decreased in all three groups (P < 0.05) by 27‐38%. ANGPTL‐4 was increased in the EXO group (15%, P < 0.05) and 9% (P < 0.05) in the DIO group. VEGF‐A, ANG‐1, and ANGPTL‐4 were all expressed in human AT, but only ANGPTL‐4 was influenced by the interventions.

Conclusions:

Our data show that serum VEGF‐A, ANG‐1, ANG‐2, and ANGPTL‐4 levels are influenced by weight changes, indicating the involvement of these factors in the obese state. Moreover, it was found that weight loss generally was associated with a reduced angiogenic activity in the circulation.  相似文献

The effects of hydromineral hormones and catecholamines on renal concentrating ability at different hydration states were examined in five male volunteers while they performed three trials. Each of these trials comprised a 60-min exercise bout on a treadmill (at 50% of maximal oxygen uptake) in a warm environment (dry bulb temperature, 35°C; relative humidity, 20–30%). In one session, subjects were euhydrated before exercise (C). In the two other sessions, after thermal dehydration (loss of 3% body mass) which markedly reduced plasma volume (PV) and increased plasma osmolality (osmpl), the subjects exercised either not rehydrated (Dh) or rehydrated (Rh) by drinking 600 ml of mineral water before and 40 min after the onset of exercise. During exercise in the Dh compared to C state, plasma renin, aldosterone, arginine vasopressin (AVP), noradrenaline and adrenaline concentrations were increased (P < 0.05). A reduction in creatinine clearance and urine flow was also observed (P < 0.05) together with a decrease in urine osmolality, osmolar clearance and sodium excretion, while free water clearance increased (P < 0.05). However, compared to Dh, Rh partially restored PV and osmpl and induced a marked reduction in the time courses of both the plasma AVP and catecholamine responses (P < 0.05). Values for renal water and electrolyte excretion were intermediate between those of Dh and C. Plasma atrial natriuretic peptide presented similar changes whatever the hydration state. These results demonstrate that during moderate exercise in the heat, renal concentrating ability is paradoxically reduced by prior dehydration in spite of high plasma AVP levels, and might be the result of marked activation of the sympatho-adrenal system. Rehydration, by reducing this activation, could partially restore the renal concentrating ability despite the lowered plasma AVP. Accepted: 23 April 1997  相似文献

Objectives:The purpose of the current study was to firstly examine the effects of different whole-body vibration (WBV) frequencies in the lower-body muscles when applied simultaneously during a bridge exercise. Secondly, determine if there were any sex differences in the lower-body muscles of WBV during the bridge.Methods:Seven females and 7 males completed 2 familiarization and 1 test sessions. In the test session participants were randomized to complete one 30 s bout of a bridge exercise for 3 separate condition s followed by 3-min of rest. The 3 conditions (a) No-WBV (without WBV); (b) WBV-30 (30 Hz, low amplitude); (c) WBV-50 (50 Hz, low amplitude) were performed on a WBV platform. Muscle activity of the biceps femoris (BF), semitendinosus (ST), gluteus maximus (Gmax), multifidus muscle (MF) muscles were measured.Results:Muscle activity was increased with WBV in the BF and ST muscles at WBV-30 and WBV-50 conditions (p<0.05) vs. no-WBV. During No-WBV and WBV-50 conditions, males had a higher biceps femoris activity compared to females for (p<0.05) 45 and 27 %, respectively; however, during all conditions females had a high level of Gmax activity (57%) than males (p<0.05).Conclusion:Additional vibration at 30 and 50 Hz during the bridge exercise could be a useful method to enhance hamstring muscle activity.  相似文献
