In this paper, we report on the synchronization of a pacemaker neuronal ensemble constituted of an AB neuron electrically coupled to two PD neurons. By the virtue of this electrical coupling, they can fire synchronous bursts of action potential. An external master neuron is used to induce to the whole system the desired dynamics, via a nonlinear controller. Such controller is obtained by a combination of sliding mode and feedback control. The proposed controller is able to offset uncertainties in the synchronized systems. We show how noise affects the synchronization of the pacemaker neuronal ensemble, and briefly discuss its potential benefits in our synchronization scheme. An extended Hindmarsh–Rose neuronal model is used to represent a single cell dynamic of the network. Numerical simulations and Pspice implementation of the synchronization scheme are presented. We found that, the proposed controller reduces the stochastic resonance of the network when its gain increases.  相似文献

This paper investigates a method to identify uncertain system parameters and unknown topological structure in general complex networks with or without time delay. A complex network, which has uncertain topology and unknown parameters, is designed as a drive network, and a known response complex network with an input controller is designed to identify the drive network. Under the proposed input controller, the drive network and the response network can achieve anticipatory projective synchronization when the system is steady. Lyapunov theorem and Barbǎlat’s lemma guarantee the stability of synchronization manifold between two networks. When the synchronization is achieved, the system parameters and topology in response network can be changed to equal with the parameters and topology in drive network. A numerical example is given to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.  相似文献

Design and implementation of a sequential controller based on the concept of artificial neural networks for a flexible manufacturing system are presented. The recurrent neural network (RNN) type is used for such a purpose. Contrary to the programmable controller, an RNN-based sequential controller is based on a definite mathematical model rather than depending on experience and trial and error techniques. The proposed controller is also more flexible because it is not limited by the restrictions of the finite state automata theory. Adequate guidelines of how to construct an RNN-based sequential controller are presented. These guidelines are applied to different case studies. The proposed controller is tested by simulations and real-time experiments. These tests prove the successfulness of the proposed controller performances. Theoretical as well as experimental results are presented and discussed indicating that the proposed design procedure using Elman's RNN can be effective in designing a sequential controller for event-based type manufacturing systems. In addition, the simulation results assure the effectiveness of the proposed controller to outperform the effect of noisy inputs.  相似文献

A model of coupled neural masses can generate seizure-like events and dynamics similar to those observed during interictal to ictal transitions and thus can be used for theoretical study of the control of epileptic seizures. In an effort to understand the mechanisms underlying epileptic seizures and how to avoid them, we added a control input to this model. Epileptic seizures are always accompanied by hypersynchronous firing of neurons, so research on synchronization among cortical areas is significant for seizure control. In this study, principal component analysis (PCA) was used to identify synchronization clusters composed of several neural masses. A method for calculating the synchronization cluster strength and participation rate is presented. The synchronization cluster strength can be used to identify synchronization clusters and the participation rate can be employed to identify neural masses that participate in the clusters. Each synchronization cluster is controlled as a whole using a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller. We illustrate these points using coupled neural mass models of synchronization to show their responses to increased (between node) coupling with and without control. Experiment results indicated that PID control can effectively regulate synchronization between neural masses and has the potential for seizure prevention.  相似文献

This paper investigates drive-response synchronization for a class of neural networks with time-varying discrete and distributed delays (mixed delays) as well as discontinuous activations. Strict mathematical proof shows the global existence of Filippov solutions to neural networks with discontinuous activation functions and the mixed delays. State feedback controller and impulsive controller are designed respectively to guarantee global exponential synchronization of the neural networks. By using Lyapunov function and new analysis techniques, several new synchronization criteria are obtained. Moreover, lower bound on the convergence rate is explicitly estimated when state feedback controller is utilized. Results of this paper are new and some existing ones are extended and improved. Finally, numerical simulations are given to verify the effectiveness of the theoretical results.  相似文献

A rule-based fuzzy logic control is developed for control of penicillin concentration in a fed-batch bioreactor. The membership functions, fuzzy ranges for the error and for the controller output are defined. A fuzzy rule base is constructed relating error to the control output based on operators' knowledge. The performance of the fuzzy-logic controller is evaluated by simulating a mathematical model of the fed-batch bioreactor.  相似文献

This paper introduces a new modular control design method for a cell controller with integrated error handling. To make the complexity of the cell controller manageable, its control logic is separated into two parts: resource allocation control and operation control. To create the operation control not only quickly but correctly, modular operation blocks integrated with error handling are developed. An algorithm automatically generates the operation control. The operation control created by the proposed method is proved to have desired control behaviors. The method is applied to an example system.  相似文献

This paper concerns the problem of global exponential synchronization for a class of memristor-based Cohen–Grossberg neural networks with time-varying discrete delays and unbounded distributed delays. The drive-response set is discussed. A novel controller is designed such that the response (slave) system can be controlled to synchronize with the drive (master) system. Through a nonlinear transformation, we get an alternative system from the considered memristor-based Cohen–Grossberg neural networks. By investigating the global exponential synchronization of the alternative system, we obtain the corresponding synchronization criteria of the considered memristor-based Cohen–Grossberg neural networks. Moreover, the conditions established in this paper are easy to be verified and improve the conditions derived in most of existing papers concerning stability and synchronization for memristor-based neural networks. Numerical simulations are given to show the effectiveness of the theoretical results.  相似文献

In this paper, generalized synchronization (GS) is extended from real space to complex space, resulting in a new synchronization scheme, complex generalized synchronization (CGS). Based on Lyapunov stability theory, an adaptive controller and parameter update laws are designed to realize CGS and parameter identification of two nonidentical chaotic (hyperchaotic) complex systems with respect to a given complex map vector. This scheme is applied to synchronize a memristor-based hyperchaotic complex Lü system and a memristor-based chaotic complex Lorenz system, a chaotic complex Chen system and a memristor-based chaotic complex Lorenz system, as well as a memristor-based hyperchaotic complex Lü system and a chaotic complex Lü system with fully unknown parameters. The corresponding numerical simulations illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed scheme.  相似文献

A sampled delayed scheme is proposed to regulate the organic pollution level in anaerobic digestion processes by using off-line COD measurements. The proposed scheme is obtained by combining an error feedback control with a steady state estimator to track constant references and attenuate process load disturbances. The controller performance is tested experimentally for the treatment of tequila vinasses over a period of 68 days under different set-point values and several uncertain scenarios which include badly known kinetic parameters and load disturbances. Experimental results show that the COD concentration can be effectively regulated under the influence of set-point changes and high load disturbances by using only a daily off-line COD measurement, which makes the industrial application of the proposed control scheme feasible.  相似文献

We propose an approach for desynchronization in an ensemble of globally coupled neural oscillators. The impact of washout filter aided mean field feedback on population synchronization process is investigated. By blocking the Hopf bifurcation of the mean field, the controller desynchronizes the ensemble. The technique is generally demand-controlled. It is robust and can be easily implemented practically. We suggest it for effective deep brain stimulation in neurological diseases characterized by pathological synchronization.  相似文献

Criterion of the synchronization (CS) of cells division for S. typhi population is proposed. The criterion is based on the assumption of the normal distribution of cells with different generation time in the population after stressor (shock) action. CS is equal to the ratio of the dispersion of the generation time of cells in the population to the average generation time of the whole population and determined from the parameters of the mathematical model. The quantitative values of the parameters of the mathematical model were obtained by the minimization of error between the calculation and experimental data. CS was used for the evaluation and choice of the optimum stressor action in the synchronization of the division of S. typhi.  相似文献

This paper proposes an individualized approach to closed-loop control of depth of hypnosis during propofol anesthesia. The novelty of the paper lies in the individualization of the controller at the end of the induction phase of anesthesia, based on a patient model identified from the dose–response relationship during induction of anesthesia. The proposed approach is shown to be superior to administration of propofol based on population-based infusion schemes tailored to individual patients. This approach has the potential to outperform fully adaptive approaches in regards to controller robustness against measurement variability due to surgical stimulation. To streamline controller synthesis, two output filters were introduced (inverting the Hill dose–response model and the linear time-invariant sensor model), which yield a close-to-linear representation of the system dynamics when used with a compartmental patient model. These filters are especially useful during the induction phase of anesthesia in which a nonlinear dose–response relationship complicates the design of an appropriate controller. The proposed approach was evaluated in simulation on pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic models of 44 patients identified from real clinical data. A model of the NeuroSense, a hypnotic depth monitor based on wavelet analysis of EEG, was also included. This monitor is similar to the well-known BIS, but has linear time-invariant dynamics and does not introduce a delay. The proposed scheme was compared with a population-based controller, i.e. a controller only utilizing models based on demographic covariates for its tuning. On average, the proposed approach offered 25% improvement in disturbance attenuation, measured as the integrated absolute error following a step disturbance. The corresponding standard deviation from the reference was also decreased by 25%. Results are discussed and possible directions of future work are proposed.  相似文献

Synchronization of the contrast bolus peak and CT imaging aperture is a crucial issue for computed tomography angiography (CTA). It affects the CTA image quality and the amount of contrast dose. A whole-body CTA procedure means to scan from the abdominal aorta to pedal arteries. In this context, the synchronization is much more difficult with the asymmetric arterial flow in lower extremities than in the case of symmetric arterial flow. In this paper, we propose an adaptive optimal controller to chase the contrast bolus peak while it propagates in the aorta and lower extremities with symmetric flow. In the case of asymmetric flow after the contrast bolus splitting into two lower limbs, we propose a dynamic programming approach to cover the lower limbs optimally. Simulation and experimental results show that the proposed methods outperform the current constant-speed method substantially.  相似文献

This paper explores the problem of synchronization of a class of generalized reaction-diffusion neural networks with mixed time-varying delays. The mixed time-varying delays under consideration comprise of both discrete and distributed delays. Due to the development and merits of digital controllers, sampled-data control is a natural choice to establish synchronization in continuous-time systems. Using a newly introduced integral inequality, less conservative synchronization criteria that assure the global asymptotic synchronization of the considered generalized reaction-diffusion neural network and mixed delays are established in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The obtained easy-to-test LMI-based synchronization criteria depends on the delay bounds in addition to the reaction-diffusion terms, which is more practicable. Upon solving these LMIs by using Matlab LMI control toolbox, a desired sampled-data controller gain can be acuqired without any difficulty. Finally, numerical examples are exploited to express the validity of the derived LMI-based synchronization criteria.  相似文献

为研究当前主动型下肢假肢控制问题的解决策略,提出了主动型下肢假肢设计和分类的通用控制框架,包括3个分层结构:上层控制器、中层控制器、底层控制器。其中,上层控制器感知运动意图;中层控制器将运动意图转换为预期的装置状态,用于底层控制器的跟踪参考;底层控制器通过反馈控制或者前馈控制计算出预期装置状态与当前装置状态的误差,驱动假肢执行这些命令,形成控制闭环。结果表明,该通用控制框架可完整阐释主动型下肢假肢的人—机—环境共融关系,明确了分层控制策略的层级任务,为未来主动型下肢假肢的发展提供了理论指导。  相似文献

The bioreactor will play an important role in future biological manufacturing. For economic profit, important profiles of the feed rate in fed-batch cultures have been discussed. Unfortunately, the optimal feed rate is less robust. In these studies there exists the snowball effect in a substrate-inhibited bioprocess, in which substrate is accumulated due to uncertain parameters in the model or feed-rate error. The snowball effect also exists in multi-substrate-limited processes. In further studies, the interaction between the substrates has been higher in essential substrates than in growth-enhancing substrates. In a typical fed-batch bioreactor, the amount of the product can be reduced to 1% or less when the snowball effect arises. A new control structure, i.e., an off-line optimized feedforward controller added to a gain-scheduling PI(2)D feedback controller, is proposed to eliminate the troublesome snowball effect. The proposed control strategy recovers the yield up to 95%. Moreover, the robustness of the proposed control structure is demonstrated by simulation.  相似文献
