人眼球径测量是一个很实用的定量指标,活体测定难度很大。本文利用CT的成像特性,对43例76只正视眼进行了球径测定,并与离体眼球尺测作了比较,取得了一些有意义的结果(眼球前后径为24.62±0.38mm,横径为24.96±0.04mm,前后径/横径为0.99),并就测定方法进行了讨论。  相似文献

为提供正常汉族儿童头面部指标的正常参数,以供临床医生对先天性、遗传性等疾病患者的眼距增宽、塌鼻梁、小下颌等异常性状客观判断参考之用,我们对南京地区770名0—12岁正常汉族儿童和39名成人的头颜面部27项指标进行了测量。测点和测量方法参照邵象清编著的《人体测量手册》一书,使用工具采用0—300毫米的直脚规和弯脚规。现将结果简报如下。  相似文献

The eye is a unique organ because of its constant exposure to radiation, atmospheric oxygen, environmental chemicals and physical abrasion. That oxidative stress mechanisms in ocular tissues have been hypothesized to play a role in diseases such as glaucoma, cataract, uveitis, retrolental fibroplasias, age-related macular degeneration and various forms of retinopathy provides an opportunity for new approaches to their prevention and treatment, In the anterior uvea, both H2O2 and synthetic peroxides exert pharmacological/toxicological actions tissues of the anterior uvea especially on the sympathetic nerves and smooth muscles of the iris–ciliary bodies of several mammalian species. Effects produced by peroxides require the presence of trace amounts of extracellular calcium and the functional integrity of mitochondrial calcium stores. Arachidonic acid metabolites appear to be involved in both the excitatory action of peroxides on sympathetic neurotransmission and their inhibitory effect on contractility of the iris smooth muscle to muscarinic receptor activation. In addition to the peroxides, isoprostanes (products of free radical catalyzed peroxidation of arachidonic acid independent of the cyclo-oxygenase enzyme) can also alter sympathetic neurotransmission in anterior uveal tissues. In the retina, both H2O2 and synthetic peroxides produced an inhibitory action on potassium depolarization induced release of [3H] d-aspartate, in vitro and on the endogenous glutamate and glycine concentrations in vivo. Effects caused by peroxides in the retina are mediated, at least in part, by second messengers such as nitric oxide, prostaglandins and isoprostanes. The ability of H2O2 to alter the integrity of neurotransmitter pools from sympathetic nerves in the anterior uvea and glutaminergic nerves in the retina could underlie its role in the etiology of glaucoma.  相似文献

Although Human Adenoviruses outbreaks are rare, there still could be a potential chance for those viruses to mutate and spread quickly in human populations with severe public health and socioeconomic consequences. Outbreaks often spread fairly quickly with considerable morbidity/mortality. Saudi Arabia’s geopolitical and religious significance bring with it, millions of pilgrims, and tourists yearly. This presents a significant potential for HAdVs epidemics. This review shows that even with the mushrooming serotypes and genotypes, the scholarly knowledge on the nature, structure, transmission, and management of HAdVs is already well-established. Significant research is ongoing on pharmacological interventions, which, presently remain speculative and lacking in effectiveness. This review similarly uncovers a shortage of literature, both recent and dated, on epidemic keratoconjunctivitis in either Saudi Arabia or the Middle East.  相似文献

Stable isotopic methods are considered the “gold standard” for the measurement of rates of in vivo NO production. However, values reported for healthy human individuals differ by more than 1 order of magnitude. The reason for the apparent variability in NO production is unclear. The primary aim of this review was to evaluate and compare the rates of in vivo NO production in health and disease using stable isotope methods. Articles were retrieved using the PubMed electronic database. Information on concentrations, isotopic enrichments of fluxes, and conversion rates of molecules involved in the NO metabolic pathway was extracted from selected articles; 35 articles were included in the final analysis. Three protocols were identified, including the arginine-citrulline, the arginine-nitrate, and the oxygen-nitrate protocols. The arginine-citrulline protocol showed a wider variability compared to the arginine-nitrate and oxygen-nitrate protocols. The direction of the association between disease state and rate of NO production was essentially determined by the etiopathogenesis of the disorder (inflammatory, metabolic, vascular). Considerable variation in methodologies used to assess whole-body NO synthesis in humans exists. The precision of several aspects of the techniques and the validity of some assumptions made remain unknown, and there is a paucity of information about physiological rates of NO production from childhood over adolescence to old age.  相似文献

目的:研究光学相干断层成像术(OCT)在近视眼视网膜神经纤维层(RNFL)厚度测量中的应用价值。方法:选择2016年1月到2016年5月在医院就诊的近视患者73例(138眼)纳入此次研究,根据近视情况将患者分为低度近视组(-0.30D~-3.00D)共26例(48眼)、中度近视组(-3.01~-6.00D)共24例(47眼)及高度近视组(-6.00D)共23例(43眼)。另选同期在医院体检(视力正常)的健康志愿者25例(45眼)作为对照组,对比各组不同象限的RNFL厚度,屈光度及眼轴长度,分析近视眼各象限的RNFL厚度与患者屈光度和眼轴长度的相关性。结果:高度近视组的上方象限、下方象限以及鼻侧象限的RNFL厚度均明显低于对照组及中度近视组,中度近视组的下方象限及鼻侧象限的RNFL厚度均明显低于对照组,低度近视组鼻侧象限的RNFL厚度明显低于对照组,差异均有统计学意义(均P0.05)。近视组的屈光度及眼轴长度均明显大于对照组,且高度近视组均明显大于中度近视组与低度近视组,中度近视组均明显大于低度近视组,差异均有统计学意义(均P0.05)。根据Pearson法分析相关性可知,近视眼患者上象限、下象限、鼻侧象限的RNFL厚度与其屈光度及眼轴长度均呈负相关。结论:利用OCT技术检测近视眼RNFL厚度时,应考虑屈光度及眼轴长度可能造成的影响,综合进行分析判断,以获得最佳检测数值。  相似文献

The composition of the mucus gel of the tear film reflects the competing needs for transparency, stability, hydration, and protection of the ocular surface. Mucins form the macromolecular scaffolding of this hydrated gel, and glycans decorating these glycoproteins represent a rich source of binding ligands that may both modulate microbial binding and regulate the physicochemical characteristics of the gel. This study compares the structure of O-linked glycans derived from the ocular mucins of three species, to determine whether the ocular surface microenvironment dictates the need for a common pattern of O-linked carbohydrate structures. Ocular mucus aspirates were collected from healthy humans, rabbits and dogs. Mucins were purified using standard protocols. O-glycans were released by hydrazinoloysis and subsequently analysed by a combination of HPLC, exoglycosidase digestions and LC–MS/MS. A total of 12 different O-glycans were identified. In human ocular mucin, the majority were negatively charged and terminated in sialic acid, whilst those from rabbit or dog were mainly neutral and terminated in α 1-2 fucose and/or α 1-3 N-acetylgalactosamine. The glycans were short: the most common structures being tetra-, tri- or disaccharides. Less elaborate glycan structures are encountered at the ocular surface than at many other mucosal surfaces. Species-specific glycan expression is a feature of ocular surface mucins, and has implications for their defensive properties where different microbial and environmental challenges are encountered. Interferon gamma (IFN gamma) induces the expression of three catalytic subunits of the 20S proteasome that can replace their constitutive homologues to form the "immunoproteasome," named to reflect its antigen presentation function. However, immunoproteasome levels and their modulation in nonimmune tissues remain unknown. A disrupted lens differentiation program observed in transgenic mice that constitutively express IFN gamma in the immune-privileged lens tissue suggests a role for this cytokine in differentiation. We have developed a competitive RT-PCR assay that demonstrates substantially increased levels of immuno subunits and unchanged levels of constitutive subunits in transgenic compared to wild-type lenses. Similar results were observed with IFN gamma treated alpha TN4-1 lens epithelial cells. A comparison of these subunits in different immune and nonimmune mouse tissues revealed unique expression patterns. The presence of immuno subunits in nonimmune tissues such as lens suggests that the immunoproteasome may also have nonimmune functions, such as that in lens differentiation.  相似文献
